Blossoming Bond 7 - or 'A Nice Gift Changes Everything' (PPG Doujinshi, OC!Brother to Mandy)

"I am surprised Bubbles convinced you," I pointed out, warranting a murderous glare from Mandy.

We were wandering through the Science Fair at the Megaville Center for the Arts. I had made plans to be there, but I didn't think Mandy would have been there because Bubbles had gotten to her.

Since this was also a celebration from the Scientific Community to celebrate the recent advances in robotics made by Noreen Wakeman and there were plans to host the Dance event Bubbles and Olga were going to be part of, the whole day was going to be a school-free one and numerous locals were going to be there.

"She didn't convince me. I just wanted to be there to monitor you."

"And I don't see why you would want to do that," I rebuked calmly. "I mean, did I do something to warrant this much control from you."

"Beyond getting girls' attention on yourself," The blonde pointed out dryly. "Artie, we have had this talk already- it's not about you, it's about them keeping away from you."

I found myself sighing at this. "Like, I get it why you wouldn't want me to get targeted by girls thinking I am in love with them, but for you to be this possessive… are you really that bored?"

The response took a surprisingly long amount to be processed by Mandy, but she… 'nodded'.

"Yes."

I could sense a lie, but maybe there was something she wasn't willing to tell me about the matter.

"So… wanna bet on the chances this event is crashed by some big villain plot?"

"That's a sucker's bet," The younger sibling dryly shot down. "Still, I have a plan to not get bothered by this. I will walk out at the first sign of trouble."

I snorted, "More like I will have to escort you outdoors–!"

Her hand was suddenly squeezing around my elbow.

"More like I will walk out."

"Sister, I have a chore as your brother to make sure that you are not caught in any issues," I said flatly, glancing back to Mandy. "So, that's final."

She glared back at me, trying to wind against my dry look and… she looked away, irked yet concessive.

"Fine."

She released me and- "Did you see that Blossom was with Dexter?"

"Yup, they were partnering with that Completely Functional Particle Accelerator."

"I thought Dexter would have gone for something 'bigger'," The girl hummed thoughtfully. "Wasn't he one for grandiose things?"

"Once, now he is a bit more laidback."

"And depressed."

I held back a sigh at that, knowing that trying to chide Mandy on her blunt remarks was tantamount of suicide.

"So, any particular reason why we are wandering this place and not just taking seats for the dance exhibition?"

"Julia and her grandpa are there," I firmly answered. "And I am not breaking my record of dodging that girl."

"At least you have the common sense to not stick around crazy," Mandy quipped humorlessly. "Speaking of crazy, I hope you understand we are not bothering to get Billy out of this place."

"Oh, I am fine with that," I calmly allowed, knowing that trying to fetch Billy wherever he was would have only made the process of getting Mandy out more tedious and… unpredictable.

I have no hard feelings for Billy, but the dumb guy wouldn't die due to our ownership of Grim, so he was only getting hurt a bit. And considering how braindead he was, that was not going to lead to anything long-termed for his psyche.

Right as we were walking towards the dance exhibition, the event soon started as we took the furthermost seats, we both were caught unsurprised when a small robot appeared on stage and started to speak gibberish.

One of the front seats saw an individual shift to the stage to stop the scene, but the individual that was Jenny Wakeman, the robot daughter of Noreen Wakeman, was suddenly subdued by the smaller artificial entity as it placed a strange circle on her forehead.

Now, it would have been fine if it had been just a case of disabling a fighter, but the tiny trinket actually morphed bits of her hair to form a circular portal. Which led to a dimension where the monsters on the other side had been ready to launch a siege.

"Artie–"

I picked Mandy from the chair and rushed away quickly, ignoring her whining about 'having the legs to run herself', but what she didn't see was a large rocket that had been rushing towards the seats thrown by one of the monstrous robots.

It was only thanks to a purple vine wall that manifested over the seats that the explosion was mitigated and somewhat nullified. The monsters swarmed fast, thus forcing me to rely on Second Chance's powerful legs to propel us both through the center and get us fast to the entrance.

The doors had been forced down through some emergency lockdown system and none of my attacks were breaking the reinforced metal. I tried to look for other solutions, hitting the walls also yielded no result as the concrete was far thicker than most walls should have.

As I was exhausting options, I heard my sister huff.

"If you take care of the problem, then the system should deactivate," Mandy pointed out and I stared at her. "And I am not going to put myself in danger. Just drop me over there:"

She was pointing at a small gathering of scientists and civilians that were being protected by Buttercup and Mr. Jack. My lips twitched in discomfort at the idea of leaving Mandy inside the place considering the active threat, but I was grasping how this was not much of a choice on my part.

"Fine."

I bolted for the security crowd and allowed Mandy back to the ground, turning around to leave- only for Mandy to stop me by grasping my wrist.

"Artie."

I looked over my shoulder.

"Don't do anything stupid."

I slowly nodded at this, relief washing over me as she let me go.I was soon having my Stand punch our way through the hostile grounds as the insect robots were spreading fast and aggressively.

Luckily for us both, these things weren't that strong or fast, making it easy for a quick rush through the highly-dense halls into the dance exhibition hall. But as we got through, I was surprised to find out that two major fights were unfolding.

Blossom was fighting against a white-haired, white-themed girl that seemed to have her powers.

And Julia was facing a mysterious blond boy with smug blue eyes.

This was the first time Julia saw Hermit Purple's extent of reach.

She knew that Grandpa Jojo had put effort to capitalize on the Stand's overall immunity to non-Stand attacks as a means to provide some shielding from blasts, so it wasn't that shocking to see it work as intended. The true awe resided within the notion that her Grandpa was so quick to his feet about it despite his old age.

It had been an awkward few days since that cafeteria fiasco. And while she had been told that it was fine as the 'matter was not too dangerous for her to be upset about this failure', that didn't stop Julia from putting herself through intense training to get more opportunities to approach Arthur, but the boy was actively dodging her!

This was infuriating on multiple levels, especially when it was the first time ever someone was actually avoiding her as if she was a leper or similar. Still, she trained, she hardened her resolve and… this all felt like amounting to nothing as she rushed to help.

Sure, she managed to punch away several of those monsters, but she struggled to get anywhere close to Jenny. Ms. Wakeman said that helping her robo-daughter would stop the attackers. But the process was quite difficult considering how resilient those monsters were. Still, Honey Dropwas just enough to take care of those, with the powered bubbles tearing through the monsters as she got closer and closer and-

"You know, you really should make yourself aware when someone is sneaking up on you," A boyish voice taunted from behind her, with Julia rotating to strike at… nothing?!

A chuckle now came from in front of her and… Honey Drop's barely turned to block the punch coming towards her. A stronger Stand's punch at that.

She felt her own bones groan at the difference of power, but it only pushed her away from the source of that counter. A blond boy around her age stood there. The blue-eyed teen wore a half-sleeved yellow jacket over a blue shirt with yellow gears painted on it, goggles over his forehead and a pair of yellow short pants.

"I have been waiting so long for this. For my chance to truly start making my father's legacy worthwhile to the world. And here you are, my first test subject to my glorious ascension."

"W-Who are you?" Something didn't feel right about this boy's Stand and personality.

The confidence felt inhuman and his attitude felt somewhat familiar. Then Julia heard her Grandpa speak.

"T-There is no way- you can't be back!"

The boy chuckled again, this time at Joseph's words. "Oh, but he is not back. I am not my genetic father after all. But let's cut the chase and let me introduce myself."

Offering a smug grin and a vicious glance, the boy finally gave her an answer.

"My name is Diego Brando. I am the perfect legacy of the Great DIO and I am… his heir for the [Heavens]."

D-Dio? But wasn't that villain already dead?! She could clearly remember Uncle Jotaro being quite adamant that 'the bastard vampire was completely dead'. Yet, someone that said was his son now stood before her, as an enemy.

Despite a growing sense of dread, Julia readied her stance. "Well, Diego. I am still going to defeat you."

"Oh? Feeling daring, young Zeppeli? Have you not forgotten that all those of your families that dared to stand against fateful entities tend to perish?" Diego pointed out smoothly. "How about you just leave? You wouldn't be able to–"

Numerous bubbles were soon rushing towards Diego, too fast for his Stand to intercept at once due to the even distribution, the numerical superiority and the overall pace they were going at. But while that would have put most opponents on the defensive, Julia blinked just once as she saw Diego no longer standing in his previous position.

No, he was standing right in front of her.

"MUDA! MUDA!" His Stand manifested, a seemingly normal human boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, but blue marks all over his body, numerous angelic wings sprouting from his back and a fragmented Halo over his head.

The Stand's first punch struck her in the stomach, pushing all air out of her, then the second slammed on her cheek and sent her flying backward and into the warm and cozy vines of Joseph's Hermit Purple.

"T-That hurts."

"That's because you tried to defy destiny, brat!" Diego exclaimed smugly. "My Stand, Hope in Hell and I can only be matched by a Joestar or a Kujo. You are neither, so this very chance of you to stop us is impossi-"

Thud.

The scene paused, with everyone turning their attention to the sight of Jenny's tired and damaged body falling to the ground, released by the control chip that had turned her into a pseudo-portal.

"Good grief, that should put an end to the scary monsters."

Julia's jaw dropped as she recognized… Arthur Endswell standing over Jenny's unconscious body, crushing the control device before turning to stare at Diego.

"And you are one of the ringleaders of this attack?"

"That would be the case. If I may ask, are you perhaps a Kujo or a Joestar?"

"Name's Arthur Endswell, don't know any of those names," Arthur remarked, causing the blond to scowl. "What? Are you upset that you don't get noticed?"

For some odd reasons, that unnerved Diego from the snarl coming from him.

"I am not upset for not being noticed, you dolt! And I shall make quick work of you!"

But as Hope in Hell bolted to deliver a swift punitive attack, Arthur reacted and stunned Julia some more.

"MUD-"

"ORA!"

The uppercut from the humanoid Stand that manifested in front of Arthur caught Hope in Helloff-guard, the mirror effect causing Diego to bleed from his lips at the sudden attack. The blond boy's eyes were wide open, with his Stand shifting back to him.

And Julia finally realized one thing.

"Grandpa… his Stand. Arthur's Stand- it has evolved."

"It appears to be the case," Joseph mumbled, sounding distracted and unfocused as he stared at Arthur with a sense of familiarity. "I think we should focus on helping the others to leave this area."

Julia tensed up. "But Grandpa-"

"We need to help these people, Julia. I think your friend has it under control."

She opened her mouth in an effort to protest both the forceful assignment and the wrongful understanding of the relationship between her and Arthur but… she had to admit that there were still many stuck in the large room and Bubbles couldn't do it all on her own.

"Fine."

And as Joseph and Julia started to assist other bystanders, Julia would find herself staring over her shoulder while they left with the rest of the group.

Arthur had started to advance towards Diego.

"Oh, you're approaching me?"
