Coming back from the commercial break, the next challenge is being explained.
Don: In this botch or watch challenge, whoever didn't draw the caricature must swim to this part of the Mediterranean and retrieve a travel tip from the dorsal fin of a great white circle…
Don is cut off when a shark tries to attack his boat.
"Thank god the sharks didn't eat him," Stephanie said.
"I know," Noah said. "That right there is a little freaky."
"A little," Dwayne Senior asked.
Don: To try that again, you'll get a taste of this. Huh? You wanna dance with the widow maker?
Don escapes the shark a second time before cutting to the cadets.
Sanders: Note: Eating teammates will result in disqualification. Wow. They really thought of everything.
"I'm not afraid," Macarthur said.
"Except you weren't going into the water," Sanders said. "I was."
It cuts to it being time for the first five teams to go.
Brody: The botch or watch challenges are the worst. *Interview break* I'm so afraid I'm gonna goof up and get us both turfed, but this one is perfect for me.
"Was it?" Ryan asked.
"Yeah," Brody answered. "For six years, I was captain of the swim team."
"Six years?" Mary asked.
"It was a 6th through 12th grade school," Geoff answered.
"Exactly," Brody said.
While easy for Devin and Josee, Dwayne Senior found it more tough than expected.
*Interview Break* Dwayne Senior: Turns out swimming in shark infested water is way harder on the old body than sitting at the desk all day. Who knew? *End interview break*
"One can see why," Dwayne Junior said.
"You guys really need to spend more time outdoors," Ellody said.
"Like a hike in the mountains," Mary said.
Josee is able to leap over the shark, get the tip and return to Jacques.
Devin: Wow! Nice moves.
"I agree," Carrie said before looking confused on why everyone glared. "One can't show good sportsmanship?"
"That is pretty smart of him," Mary answered.
Brody beats Devin to the tip, but the shark he grabs seems to have a mind of his own.
"That shark does not look happy," Noah said.
"No kidding," Brody commented.
Don: As teams from train number one battle with the top of the aquatic food chain, train number two has arrived.
The geniuses are seen off the train first.
Mary: Weren't there five teams on board?
Ellody: There's the Don box. Hurry!
The stepbrothers, goths and daters follow behind.
"Mary's right," Crimson said. "What happened to Tom and Jen?"
Devin is able to find the tip, but swims away without it because of the shark. The tip floats up and Dwayne Senior grabs it.
"Way to go, dad!" Dwayne Junior said.
"Thanks, son," Dwayne Senior said.
*Interview break* Dwayne Junior: I'm actually kind of proud of my dad. Takes guts to swim towards the shark.
Dwayne Senior: This ain't your dad's first shark rodeo. Now, if anything, those sharks should've been scared of the Dwayne man.
Dwayne Senior does some supposed karate moves that ended with him breaking the camera.
"Nice going, dad," Dwayne Junior said.
"That camera is nothing easy to fix," Miles commented.
"I now see that," Dwayne Senior said.
Chet: You draw a caricature, I swallow my own barf and swim with sharks? This is so unfair.
"Life's unfair, stepbrothers," Ennui said. "I almost lost my goth look a few times."
The daters are up next.
Stephanie: If one of those sharks eat you, I will eat that shark, so that we will always be together.
"So loyal to him," Carrie said.
"That's my Steph-y boo for ya," Ryan said.
"I know," Stephanie said.
A yacht then arrives.
Tom: Hi everyone. Hope you didn't miss us.
"I think some of us were too busy to notice," Stephanie said.
"Busy playing with sharks," Brody said.
That was when everyone else realized what Tom meant. Tom and Jen were the only ones not to drop their jaws.
"You took a yacht instead of the train?" Stephanie asked.
"One of the hottest ways to get around in France," Jen answered.
"One of the hottest being the key word," Noah said.
*Interview break* Jen: We stepped off the train in Can.
Tom: Just to breathe it in.
Jen: And right there on the platform…
Tom: The prince of Monaco.
The fashion bloggers then said that one thing led to another, which is how they ended up on the yacht. The interview break then ends.
"That reminds me of the yacht I threw a party for Zoey and Mike on," Owen said.
"It sure does," Geoff said. "Best party ever."
Meanwhile, Josee is coming back to shore with the tip.
Jacques: She is beautiful, graceful and strong with every move like a swan that makes other swans feel ugly.
That was when one swan poked him in the butt. Everyone laughed.
"That's what he gets for calling swans ugly," Ellody said.
The others were in total agreement. Dwayne Senior then calls for his son to grab a bucket, so they can build a castle. Unfortunately, Dwayne Senior can't swim and speak at the same time.
"He didn't drown, did he?" Kitty asked.
"Thank heavens, no," Dwayne Junior answered.
"It takes more than shark infested water to stop me," Dwayne Senior commented.
Don: Dwayne might be drowning, but he's right.
For the next challenge, which is all-in mode, The teams must now build a sand replica of the Palace of Versaille, which will be judged by Sandy McCastles.
"Is that a real name?" Noah asked.
"I don't think it is," Sanders answered.
"Neither do I," Erin said.
Don definitely doesn't think so either, but it was able to stand that way. Receiving the next tip will depend on whether or not the castle is good enough. Mary and Ellody started quaking a little.
"What's wrong?" Jen asked.
"That's where we might have messed up," Mary answered.
Sanders and Devin finally receive their tip and return to shore.
"Who knew sharks could be so rough?" Sander asked.
"No kidding," Macarthur said. "Not even my grandma took that long to escape."
Mary was able to get one after witnessing the sharks flee.
"Nice," Owen said.
Mary: No, sharks aren't afraid of me but they are afraid of magnets. *Interview break*
Ellody: Technically, it's not fear.
Mary knew that and said she was facetious and making an electrical field to mess with the sharks.
"Electrical fields mess with sharks?" Sanders asked.
"It's possible," Geoff answered.
"Ellody can explain how one does it right," Mary said.
Ellody: Salt water is an ionic solution. It contains particles with unpaired electrons.
"Cool," Brody said.
Mary then wishes for a dry erase board before Don asks to cut to something more exciting, thus ending that interview break.
"So much for that," Ellody said.
"Your moments are fun while they last," Crimson said.
Meanwhile, the third train comes in.
Don: As more teams begin the second challenge, the surfer dudes are still trying to finish the first one.
It is shown that the shark is still chasing Brody.
"So unfair," Brody said. "Can he hold still long enough for me to get the tip?"
"How rude are some animals?" Mary asked.
It then cuts to the rockers.
Rock: I'll do anything to win. *Interview break* I need the money for my parents. They're not getting any younger, and they really want me out of their basement. If I win, I can build my own basement. *End interview break*
While Crimson gets the tip by scaring the shark away, the Dwayne duo and daters get to work, and the stepbrothers are throwing sand at each other.
"We should head back to that beach one day," Noah said.
"I'm in," Ryan said.
"Me too," Stephanie said.
Interview break* Dwayne Junior: I was worried about dad before, but now he's really going for it.
Dwayne Senior: Building is what men were born to do. *End interview break*
The police cadets and sisters both agree that it's either go big or go home.
"It's on like Donkey Kong," Kitty said, making everyone giggle again.
"Now you're talking my language," Macarthur said.
Meanwhile, the geniuses plan out what the castle should look like, even saying it isn't kid stuff during an interview break.
"Oh really?" Dwayne Senior asked. "Then how come my son and I were able to finish so quickly?"
"You did leave out one detail, dad," Dwayne Junior answered.
Dwayne Senior: Not good enough? Are you kidding me? It's the best castle ever. I was building sand castles while you were still making them in your pants, pal.
The laughter was back at it again.
"Were you trying to burn that kid?" Ryan asked.
"Not really," Dwayne Senior answered.
"What you said sure had us laughing," Erin commented.
"I agree," Stephanie replied.
Owen is able to get a tip as well.
"Nice going, buddy," Noah said.
"Yeah!" Geoff said before high 5-ing Owen. "Making up for lost time."
"Let's hope we have the same luck," Brody said.
Kelly and the rockers began working on the castles while Emma was swimming for the tip.
Emma: I was scared, but glad it was me in the water and not Kitty. *Interview break* If anything happened to her…
Kitty: Aw.
Emma: They'd disqualify us immediately. *End interview break*
"Wouldn't want that," Kitty said.
"Would anyone?" Emma asked.
Miles is then seen with a shark, and plans to start a fund to preserve them. That idea gets scrapped because she is shown to have been mauled by one during an interview break, which shocks Laurie. Everyone's jaws dropped.
"What!?" Jen started.
"The!?" Stephanie added.
"Fuck!?" Macarthur finished.
"Were you okay?" Carrie asked.
"Yeah," Miles said. "But that shark is a real bitch."
"See why I didn't want you swimming with those things?" Emma asked.
"I do, now," Kitty answered.
Geoff and Brody are the only ones who have yet to finish the first challenge.
"We are having a word with that shark if it causes us to come in last place," Geoff said. "Sharks are nothing like camels,"
The Dwayne family were able to finish first.
Dwayne Senior: Grab a speedboat and follow the GPS to the chill zone on the southern tip of Iceland?
"Iceland?" Everyone asked.
Don: Iceland, the southernmost dock of this frigid island is the finish line for this segment of the race. The last team to meet me on the carpet of completion could be heading home.
It then cuts to another commercial break.
"Thanks for the added suspense," Geoff said.
"I sure hope you guys get the tip soon," Owen said.
"It would be a disaster for us to finish this early," Geoff said.
