The Doctor flashed his psychic paper at the young man.

"What's your name?"

"David Desmond."

"Right, David, we need to borrow your vehicle. It's a matter of life or death."

"Okay, sure, Detective Inspector." David held out the keys. "I'll get it back though, right? I mean it's my first car, I've only had it a week."

"Yes, of course. Well, probably, and hopefully in one piece. Mostly. Look, why don't you take this in exchange?" Digging in his pocket, the Doctor handed over a gold medallion.

David never got his car back. He bought himself a new Mercedes instead.
