Chapter 5:
Another day has approached for everyone at Beacon and for one Schnee huntswoman who was still displeased by yesterday. Anger and jealousy has fully crawled up to her but now guilt was beginning to crawl as well believing she portrayed wrong behavior in front her team, students, and professors but mostly William. She let her anger get the best and ditched their star gazing plan at last minute but once things were fixed and she becomes the leader of Team RWBY, she will apologize and make it up to him. Those thoughts were interrupted when she saw her team and team JNPR peeking at the entrance of a classroom.
Weiss: *sighs* What are you all even doing? Class starts in 10 minutes.
Yang: Seems like your boyfriend is having a tense debate with the professor.
Nora: *gasp* You're dating the weird space guy?!
Weiss: N-NO?! *Blushes deeply* We are JUST Friends! That's all!
Blake: Well, he's certainly putting on a show right now.
Ren: Apparently, he disagreed with the professor point of view of time and chaos ensued from there. It's been going on for about 7 minutes now. Class is over already yet everyone stayed to watch.
Weiss as much as she didn't like eavesdropping, the attention did get to her of William not listening to the professor and trying to be a know it all. So, like the others and more students and staff coming to look, she decides to watch and listen.
Professor: Alright then Mr. Smith, if you truly believe you know the true value of time then why don't you come to the front of the class and explain it to everyone? Let's have YOU be the professor now.
The Doctor: With pleasure Professor. *Stands up and walks to the front looking at everyone* Better get your notes ready.
The class laughs at the young time lord but he doesn't remain phased by the sudden response. His knowledge was coming back more to him than his own memories and that was good enough for him. He noticed the people watching from outside the classroom and notices Team RWBY and Team JNPR which brings a confident smile.
The Doctor: Time! Time doesn't pass. The passage of time is an illusion, and life is the magician. Because life only lets you see one day at a time. You remember being alive yesterday, you hope you're going to be alive tomorrow, so it feels like you're travelling from one to the other. But nobody's moving anywhere. Movies don't really move. They're just pictures, lots and lots of pictures. All of them still, none of them moving. Just frozen moments...But if you experience those pictures one after the other, then everything comes alive.
Soon the laughs and teasing came to an abrupt end as no one including the professor thought William would go very deep into the ideology of time and bringing life into it. Some even began to take notes of what he was explaining.
The Doctor: Imagine if time all happened at once. Every moment of your life laid out around you like a city. Streets full of buildings made of days. The day you were born, the day you die. The day you fall in love, the day that love ends. A whole city built from triumph and heartbreak and boredom and laughter and cutting your toenails. It's the best place you will ever be.
Hearing what he was saying made Weiss rethink a lot of things in her head as everyone else continued to pay attention. Is she perfect? Does everything around her need to be perfect? Does she really need to be perfect?
The Doctor: Time is a structure relative to ourselves. Time is the space made by our lives where we stand together, forever. *Grabs the Chalk and writes on the board* Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It means Life.
The room and the hallway stayed quiet after what everyone around just heard. No one knew what to say or how to react, all most are thinking of is how could someone have that much knowledge and lore about time, space, and life.
Professor: A-AHEM! T-Thank you for your claim William! I'm sorry class for keeping you late. Just read Chapter 4 tonight that'll be all.
Soon, everything went back to normal as students were leaving and the next class was beginning to enter which included Team RWBY and JNPR who were walking towards the young man.
Nora: Quite a show you put out there.
Pyrrha: You definitely know your knowledge very well, must be an easy class for you.
The Doctor: Ha I wish, most of what this class is about is the very basics of space but why go with the basics when you can go beyond.
Ruby: I'm pretty sure not everyone is ready to fully know what you know William. *giggles*
The Doctor: So I'm guessing this is where you next class will be?
Jaune: Yep! Professor Port is gonna teach us the techniques of becoming Hunstman.
The Doctor: Always remember the most important weapon you must have is the mind. Anyways, I shall take my leave and hope all of you have a great class. Saiko!
Weiss watches him go past them as she feels her guts telling her go after him. She wanted to move, she wanted to run to him and apologize for last night but something felt her holding back and she let him go without saying anything nor going to him.
Ruby: You looked like you wanted to go to him?
Jaune: Is everything okay between you two?
Weiss just took a deep breath ignoring her classmates' questions and went on to sit down to prepare for class. After a while, class was finally in session as Weiss takes notes of their Professor lecture but notices her team captain laying asleep which irritated her.
Professor Port: Uhhhh... And you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy! Now, as I was saying: Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world! Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces! And that's where we come in. Huntsmen! Huntresses... Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves! From what, you ask? Why, the very world!
The Professor kept explaining the importance and danger of being a hunstman as Weiss was getting angrier at Ruby's antics such as blowing raspberries, napping, laughing with Blake and Yang, napping again, playing with an apple, napping AGAIN! Weiss had enough.
Professor Port: A true Huntsman must be honorable! A true Huntsman must be dependable! A true Huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise! So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?
Weiss: I Do, sir!
Professor Port: Well, then, let's find out! Step forward, and face your opponent!
Weiss approaches the front of the class ready to fight a Grimm beast that is locked within a cage as she takes a deep breath and tries to focus. However, she can't focus due to her teammates cheering on for her.
Yang: Goooo, Weiss!
Blake: Fight well!
Ruby: Yeah, represent Teeeeam RWBY!
Weiss: Ugh! Ruby! I'm trying to focus!
Ruby: Oh, um...Sorry..
And with that, the creature is unlocked and charges towards Weiss who in response, speeds towards the oncoming beast, sticking her blade straight at its skull until they meet as Weiss is trying to go for the strike and is tossed around as she struggles to hold on.
Port: Bold, new approach. I like it!
Ruby: Come on, Weiss, show it who's boss!
Again, that annoyance from Ruby was irritating Weiss and making her lose focus as she thrown away from the beast and her sword nowhere near her, Weiss looks up just in time to see the Grimm beast charge again and rolls out of the way just in time to avoid getting trampled and make it crash into a desk. Weiss rushes at her sword and slides to get it back in her hand.
Ruby: Weiss! Go for its belly! There's no armor underneath-
Weiss: *looks at her* Stop telling me what to do!
Ruby stopped and felt hurt by Weiss's response as the Winter Huntswoman finishes off the beast in fashion which led to an applaud by the professor and the class. A smirk brings upon her looking at her team then the class as she realizes she is indeed perfect and brings true example of how a warrior and leader should be. But that proud smirk of her disappeared when she noticed the young time lord watching her from the entrance of the class and instead brought a look of guilt.
Port: Bravo! Bra-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true Huntress-in-training! I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today. Be sure to cover the assigned readings, and... stay vigilant! Class dismissed!
As the class was beginning to leave, The Doctor watches in disappointment not because of the fight but how Weiss treated Ruby and her team. Her ego from how she was on the first day returned and it was getting worse. The thought disappeared when he turned to his right and saw an old man with old, worn-out outfit looking back at him. No one else but The Doctor noticed him yet he feels like he has seen this old man before. He was going to walk to him until he heard a bit of shouting coming from the classroom which he looks to see Ruby and Weiss arguing but when he turned around, the old man was gone.
The Doctor: Ugh Later. *Runs inside*
Ruby: What's wrong with you? Why are you being-?
Weiss: What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? You're supposed to be a leader, and all you've been so far is a nuisance!
Ruby: What...What did I do?
Weiss: That's just it - you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest, you acted like a child, and you've only continued to do so! It doesn't help either that you're no good of a sister and that Faunus is also on this team!
Ruby: Weiss, where is this coming from? What happened to all the talk about 'working together'? I thought you believed in acting as a team. I thought you did care for all of us.
Weiss: Not a team led by you. I've studied and trained. And quite frankly, I deserve better. Ozpin made a mistake.
The Doctor: THAT'S ENOUGH!
The voice coming from the Doctor startled both girls to the core as they both felt such a low aura coming from him like nothing they never seen before which makes his presence a scary sight.
The Doctor: I expected much more from you Weiss yet here you are attacking your own friend and teammate.
Weiss: Friend?! She's nowhere near there and she is not someone who should be in the level like all of us. This isn't some kiddy playground or a story book where anything can be possible.
The Doctor: Tough cause here you are acting like the little girl throwing a tantrum because she doesn't get what she wants. Something is wrong with you Weiss and I can sense it.
Weiss: …This is unbelievable! Are you really on her side now William? And here I truly thought we were actually becoming friends.
The Doctor: Don't start playing the victim here cause I have no sides. I'm just correcting the one who's actually wrong but doesn't want to admit it because you desire the perfect dream of your perfection. All you care is about winning, perfection, recognition, fame, and many more to fill that ego brain of yours yet, you don't need any of that.
Weiss: How dare you?! Did your amnesia already make you forget who I am? I am Weiss Schnee of the-
The Doctor: ENOUGH! I AM NOT LISTENING!
Fear. That is what was displayed of Weiss, all that anger and rage disappeared in a snap of a finger and all she felt was fear. Looking at the Doctor, she felt something more in him, something that isn't human yet neither a Faunus. Ruby felt it too even noticing another Grimm in a cage quivering in fear at the presence of him.
The Doctor: Let me tell you here and now Weiss Schnee, there is no such thing as perfect. Get that through your cold, thick head. You want to go out there and show the whole universe but it won't be kind to you in return.
All Weiss could do was turn around and leave, she was angry yet scared. As she was running off, the Doctor noticed the same mark from yesterday but it was bigger and more spread around. He knew it wasn't his imagination after all. He was going to go after her til he heard Ruby holding her tears.
Ruby: *sniffs* Is she right? Did he make a mistake?
The Doctor: I doubt that. She needs to get out of that small world she's in. There's a saying I like to spread around as my message, never be cruel and never be cowardly. Because hate is always foolish and love is always wise.
Ruby: That's a message no one would forget.
The Doctor: Would you like for me to walk you back to your dorm?
Ruby: Actually, can you walk with me to Professor Ozpin's office?
The Doctor: Of course. *smiles*
The Doctor and Ruby began to walk out of class but the Doctor stops and turns around to see the same old man watching him from the front desk of the class. The old man only nods his head as a greeting.
The Doctor: You...
Ruby: Who?
The Doctor looks at Ruby who was still waiting for him only to turn back and see the old man gone once again. A ghost or his imagination? Or maybe someone from his life before losing his memories.
The Doctor: N-Nothing, let's head off now.
Ruby: Saiko!
The Doctor: That's my line!
Ruby: *giggles* I know but it sounds really cool and catchy.
