Chapter 21:
Cinder: WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE'S BEEN A SLIGHT CHANGE OF PLANS?!
Today was the day of the dance for many of Beacon students and those participating for the Vytal Festival. For Cinder, a distraction to secretly upload a program to the Cross Continental Transmit System Tower in Vale for the attack to proceed. However, something occurred at a Roman's location with his thugs and the White Fangs that led to a stupid delay and now she's on the scroll with him.
Roman: Look princess, this is all important to us but something here is also going on. Some of our members keep disappearing out of blue and no sign in sight. We contacted them, went to look for them, and even tracked their location but nothing. It's like they disappeared into thin air.
Cinder clenched her scroll having her believe this is something connected to the Doctor. He must've figured out their plan and is now ambushing the members but the truth is that it's not him.
Roman: Look, I'm going to need Neo here with me for the day. I'm sure you three can handle it on your own but should something else happen here, I'll notify you ASAP!
Cinder: W-What?! Ugh...Fine...just get it done! *Hangs up*
Emerald: Is it him?
Cinder: I'm not too sure. Roman is saying that we are having people disappear without a trace at their location.
Mercury: Supernatural too much? Unless the Grimms have gone rogue.
Cinder: No dumbass! I don't know what's going on over there but if it is the Doctor...we are running out of time...
Emerald: Won't Neo try to sneak into his time machine today?
Cinder: Roman wants her to stay with him so that complicates things more. Looks like we'll just to get it done before the Doctor shows up. If he's at the dance, try to find a way to keep him there without causing a scene.
Mercury: And what if he isn't?
Cinder: I'll handle him...
She says it with such anger and rage but in reality, she was unsure if she could defeat someone who isn't human. Someone she doesn't even know who he really is. But she needed to focus and get this process done. Meanwhile in main hall of Beacon, preparations were set for the dance tonight but a Rose feels her pedals falling off in the sad mood she's in.
Yang: So, have you picked out a dress yet?
Ruby: What's the point? Who cares about the dance if Blake isn't going?
Ever since the stealth mission against Roman, Blake has fallen into a desperate mood to find Roman Torchwick and the White Fang which led to her having a massive lack of sleep and treating her team and friends poorly including Sun after she harshly rejects him for the dance.
Yang: Oh, don't worry; she's going. *Looks over* Weiss! I thought we agreed: No doilies!
Weiss: *walks up to Yang, pointing in her face* If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines!
Ruby: By the way Weiss, any word from the Doctor?
Weiss: *sighs* Nothing. I sent him the time of the dance and how he should style himself, though his outfit is already handsome enough *blushes softly and shakes head* I also asked him if there's anything new regarding to yesterday but nothing either.
Ruby: He's like Blake, desperate to find what came to Remnant and of course the crack.
Weiss: But his reasoning is more understandable than Blake. While I do understand that Roman does need to be stopped, none of us are capable of handling something that's not from here or this universe.
Yang: And that is 5x more of a threat than Roman. That reminds me, since Blake is so occupied and sleepy, I went on to look more on the handprints that the Doctor found.
Ruby and Weiss: And?
Yang: Though it looks like a normal handprint, no sign of any DNA whether human or alien.
All three girls looked at each other with concern, what exactly is in that mountain to contain human handprints but no temperature or DNA attached. Their thoughts were interrupted when the doors were slammed open turning their heads to see Neptune and Sun arriving.
Neptune: Your dance is gonna have fog machines?
Weiss: You could say that. We were thinking about it...
Neptune: That's pretty cool.
Sun: You ladies all excited for dress-up?
Ruby: Pfft... Yeah, right!
Yang: Laugh all you want. I'll be turning heads tomorrow night!
Sun: Soooo... what does Blake think of all this? She still being all, y'know... Blake-y?
Weiss: Obviously.
Ruby: *looks down* I still can't think of a way to change her mind.
Yang: Guys. Trust me; Blake will be at the dance tomorrow. *Winks and walks out*
The four watched the blonde walkout with style and confidence to bring their kitty to the dance. Suddenly, Ruby and Weiss scrolls ring off catching everyone's attention.
Sun: Is everything okay? Both rang at the same time.
Neptune: Could be that Yang already convinced Blake!
Ruby and Weiss pull out their scrolls to see a message from Dalek Khan which meant it was serious.
Dalek Khan: Hello Girls! Find a private place to discuss and let me know when you are there. Go immediately!
Weiss: AHEM. Looks like we gotta get a couple things for the dance that we left behind. Could you guys finish up the tables while we return?
Sun: Oh sure!
Neptune: As you wish beautiful. *winks*
Without a moment to spare, the girls run off and speed back to their dorm room as Weiss closes the window and curtains while Ruby locks the door awaiting the arrival for the Doctor and Dalek Khan.
Ruby: I think Neptune has a thing for you Weiss?
Weiss: He's cute alright...but my heart is slowly being taken by someone else. *Blushes softly*
Ruby smiles at her partner as she recalls how different she was when they first met. Weiss has changed for the better and has been becoming a good hearted and kind person as she spent her time in Beacon with the team and friends like JNPR, Sun, Neptune, but Ruby knows very well the person who affected Weiss most to the change was the Doctor. From their not so well meeting, to the events of the Nightmare Grimm, to knowing who the Doctor is and travelling with him in the TARDIS across history and space, and always giving her words of encouragement and kindness. It's not hard to see why Weiss is falling for him and Ruby can tell the Doctor is slowly feeling the same way and she knows the dance tonight would be the perfect place to make it work.
Ruby: We're here Khan.
As they were expecting the TARDIS, instead Ruby and Weiss received a hologram of Dalek Khan which surprised them both. Gallifrey Technology really is something else.
Dalek Khan: Hello Ruby and Weiss- HALT! Where is Blake and Yang?
Ruby: Hi Bestie! Uh, Blake and Yang are dealing with something right now so they couldn't make it but they did say to pass them the message.
Weiss: Is everything okay? Where's the Doctor?
Dalek Khan: He is occupied at the moment so he told me to contact you.
Weiss: Oh...I see.
Ruby: Did you get any new information? Did the crack appear again?
Dalek Khan: NEGATIVE! However, we went to investigate at the mountain again...we uncovered more handprints in other buildings.
The girls eyes both widen at the new given, more handprints appeared which means there was more than one alien around there and it's very bad now.
Weiss: How many handprints did you find?
Dalek Khan: In 3 different buildings, it would seem they are only there in the dark when no one is around but when it is daylight there are no sights of them.
Ruby: That doesn't sound good. We already tried to explain to Ozpin and he said he'll keep an eye out on that place.
Weiss: But we were unable to reach out to Ironwood, not even my sister replied.
Dalek Khan: There is more regarding the place. Have you checked your informational news?
Ruby: No, none of us really do plus we've been bust all day so far.
Dalek Khan: Well hear this, there have been reports of people going missing in the mountains. A group of hunters went there since last night and only their weapons have been found this morning. No traces of them.
Each time they hear information about the events of Mountain Glen, it keeps getting scarier for the girls. An entity that no one has any idea how it looks, leaving handprints, and causing people to disappear, the Doctor was right that no one in Remnant is prepared for things like this.
Weiss: What does the Doctor think of it?
Dalek Khan: He is very concerned. He's trying to list the possible creatures that could be hiding in Mountain Glen and trying to figure out how to stop this before more happens!
Weiss: Do you guys need help? We can scrap the dance and join you guys.
Dalek Khan: NEGATIVE! We are already on another planet right now and will be here for a while!
Ruby: Sounds fair, but if anything happens Khan let us know.
Dalek Khan: AFFIRMATIVE! You two as well and let Blake and Yang know!
The girls nod as Dalek Khan's hologram disappears and they both look at each other concerned.
Weiss: Whatever is out there in the mountain, not even the Grimms can stop it. What can we fight what we don't know?
Ruby: I don't know about you Weiss but if the Doctor is going to return to that place, I'm going with him.
Weiss: RUBY?! Did you not understand anything you heard from Khan or me? It's too dangerous you dolt!
Ruby: I know! But if we don't do anything about this, Vale will fall then all of Remnant. We know the Doctor always has a plan but sometimes backup are important.
Weiss sighs at her leader as they try to relax and hope this horror comes to an end soon. She never thought the fun adventures with the Doctor would take a turn.
Weiss: I'll talk with him tonight. Let's head back and finish decorating so we can get ready.
Ruby nods in agreement as she and Weiss head out of their room. Meanwhile, inside an empty classroom were Blake and Yang all alone as Blake walked back and forth sleepy, stressed, and irritated while Yang sat cross-legged on the central desk.
Blake: Yang, if you're going to tell me to stop, you may as well save your breath.
Yang: I don't want you to stop; I want you to slow down.
Blake: I don't have the luxury to slow down.
Yang: It's not a luxury; it's a necessity.
Blake: The "necessity" is stopping Torchwick.
Yang: And we're going to. But first you have to sit down and listen to what I have to say. *Pats the part of the desk across from her*
Blake: *looks away then sighs and looks at Yang* Fine.
Yang: Ruby and I grew up in Patch, an island off the coast of Vale. Our parents were Huntsmen. Our dad taught at Signal, and our mom took on missions around the kingdom. Her name was Summer Rose, and she was, like... Super-Mom: Baker of cookies and slayer of giant monsters. And then... one day she left for a mission and never came back.
Blake: Yang...oh Yang...I-I'm-
Yang: It was tough. Ruby was really torn up, but... I think she was still too young to really get what was going on, y'know? And my dad just kind of... shut down. It wasn't long before I learned why. Summer wasn't the first love he lost; she was the second. The first... was my mom. He wouldn't tell me everything, but I learned that the two of them had been on a team together with Summer and Qrow, and that she'd left me with him right after I was born. No one had seen her since.
Blake: Why did she leave you?
Yang: *sighs* That question... Why? *Walks to the chalkboard, picking up a piece of chalk* I didn't know an answer, but I was determined to find out. It was all I thought about. I would ask anyone I could about what they knew about her.
As the reminiscent blonde starts drawing on the board, Blake didn't realize the trouble and frustration Yang has kept within her. Hearing her story so far made Blake realize Yang didn't really have childhood.
Yang: Then, one day, I found something. What I thought was a clue that could lead me to answers, or maybe even my mother.
Blake: So, what did you do?
Yang: I waited for Dad to leave the house, put Ruby in a wagon, and headed out. I must've walked for hours. I had cuts and bruises, I was totally exhausted, but I wasn't gonna let anything stop me. When we finally got there, I could barely stand, but I didn't care; I had made it. And then I saw them. Those burning red eyes...
Yang trembled a bit and gulped as Blake noticed which also made her feel sad about what her blonde friend was dealing with and the danger to her and her younger sister.
Yang: There we were: A toddler sleeping in the back of a wagon and a stupid girl too exhausted to even cry for help. We might as well have been served on a silver platter. But, as luck would have it, our uncle showed up just in time... My stubbornness should've gotten us killed that night...
Blake: Yang... I'm sorry that happened to you, and I understand what you're trying to tell me, but this is different. I'm not a child, and this isn't just a search for answers! I can't just-
Yang: *clenches fist and breathes sharply* I told you: I'm not telling you to stop! I haven't! To this day, I still want to know what happened to my mother and why she left me, but I will never let that search control me. We're going to find the answers we're looking for, Blake. But if we destroy ourselves in the process, what good are we?
Blake: You don't understand! I'm the only one who can do this!
Yang: No, you don't understand! *Turns around with red eyes* If Roman Torchwick walked through that door, what would you do?
Blake: I'd fight him!
Yang: You'd lose! *Pushes Blake away*
Blake: I can stop him! *Pushes her back weakly*
Yang: You can't even stop me! What if one of those aliens from the Doctor's came through and attacked you huh?! What about a Dalek! Blake, I hate to be the needle to you but with the Doctor around, we live in a new life with things we don't even understand or know yet here you are in such a weak state focused on handling something on your own knowing you can get yourself KILLED!
She pushes Blake again but more aggressively knocking her to land on the desk. Yang, still angry-eyed, walks toward Blake as she gets up, but then calms down and embraces her in a hug with her eyes going back to purple as Blake looks surprised.
Yang: I'm not asking you to stop. Just please, get some rest. Not just for you, but for the people you care about. And if you feel like coming out tonight, I'll save you a dance. *Winks and leaves*
As Yang finally left the room, Blake stares at her before sighing heavily and walking away, leaving the all-seeing eye on the board. And from the empty classroom to far, far away from Remnant into a different planet is the Doctor running from enemy fire on an alien ship. He came to relax for a bit and explore a new planet which is filled with amazing creatures named the Sylphs that are very wise and peaceful, like the Oods from his universe until a fleet of superior alien race came to invade and claim this planet as another of their own. Obviously using his usual tactic and intelligence, the Doctor found a way to enter the main ship and tried to find the control room until being spotted by the Klokarks. An alien species with black eyes and a skull-like faces with medieval knight-like appearance and vaporizing blasters.
The Doctor: KHAN! Anytime NOW!
Dalek Khan: Program is almost ready, at 97%!
The Doctor came alone leaving Dalek Khan with the TARDIS as usual. However, he really needed his Dalek friend here with him to stun these aliens but to also hand him a program that plagues the control room like a computer virus. Fortunately, he has found the control room but is left surrounded and approached by the captain of the Klokarks fleet.
The Doctor: Khan...
Dalek Khan 98%
Captain: Surrender now Doctor or face death!
The Doctor: You're making a big mistake not once but twice! Asking me to surrender and threatening to kill me. If anything, I should be the one asking you to leave this planet while you still can. Leave these people at their peace.
Dalek Khan: 99%
Captain: *smirks and points gun at the Doctor* I choose to conquer.
Dalek Khan: 100%!
The Doctor: NOW!
The ship of the Klokarks began to lose control as it began to speed off away from the planet of the Sylphs as it begins to travel into the unknown which causes panic among the captain.
Captain: WHAT IS HAPPENING?!
The Doctor: Just a simple hacking by my friend Dalek Khan who installed a virus within the controllers of your ship and now speeding til the end of the universe.
This shocked the captain as the other members began to sound the emergency and tried to fix the controllers but the virus has gotten full control which enraged the captain.
Captain: You're going to pay for this Doctor! By blasting you to bits!
The Doctor: I don't think that's a good idea.
Captain: FIRE!
The fleet listened as they all fired at the Doctor but was deflected by the force field that's around him but they continued to blast until they were out of ammo.
The Doctor: Are you done now? Cause I got a dance to attend to.
Captain: RELOAD AND FIRE!
The Doctor: Well, you keep doing that and enjoy your lovely trip to the end of the universe. NOW KHAN!
The Klokarks began to fire again as the TARDIS appeared around the Doctor as he's back inside then launching the TARDIS out of the ship and escaping. A sigh of relief as he was able to send the enemy far away from any planets and saving a planet of wise creatures.
The Doctor: Took a little longer but nicely done Khan. Did you already talk with Team RWBY?
Dalek Khan: YES! However, Ruby and Weiss were in attendance only.
The Doctor: As long as one of them got the information, that matters most.
After examining through the handprints and exploring the area earlier today, the Doctor made a list of what could have potentially come through the crack and he only had two options left which concerned him very much: Vashta Nerada or the Weeping Angels.
Dalek Khan: Ruby has told me that Ozpin has been informed and is keeping an eye out at the location.
The Doctor: But he only believes it's a rise on Grimm activity. I really hoped it wouldn't be a deadly creature that came through. I need to explain it to the team when we meetup again.
Dalek Khan: Tonight since it is the dance!
The Doctor: No, No. That would already kill the mood plus this dance would distract them. Perhaps tomorrow. Anyways, let's head back with the Sylphs then OFF to Remnant!
Once the TARDIS arrived back to the planet of the Sylphs, the Doctor and Dalek Khan were greeted with many thanks and praise by the alien race as its elder approached them.
Elder Sylph: We thank you Doctor for saving our people and our home.
The Doctor: It's no problem elder one. We are just doing what we do best, helping out others.
Elder Sylph: You are a good man with strong hearts and a kind soul. We can see it Doctor but...
The Doctor: But what?...
Elder Sylph: I can also see within that dark times are coming and you may not be prepared.
The Doctor began to be concerned about what the elder is stating considering he doesn't know about the current situation in Remnant. As much as the Doctor does not want to interfere with the future, he needs to know about what is it come but most importantly to his friends.
The Doctor: Tell me more Elder...
The Elder looked at the Doctor then noticed his face that he wanted to hear more from him and what they can see. Looking at his followers, the Elder nods and signals his followers.
Elder Sylph: Very well. Come Doctor. Come with us and you shall see.
The Doctor: Khan, stay with the TARDIS, I won't take long.
Dalek Khan: AFFIRMATIVE! *Heads inside the TARDIS*
The Doctor: Sorry Weiss, I might be a little late.
The Doctor continues walking into the village of the Sylphs where he hopes his future isn't told but rather, he wants to know the fate of Remnant, Team RWBY, the Universe. Meanwhile, back to Remnant at Beacon, it was finally nighttime and the dance has arrived. The ballroom filled with decorations, food, drinks, music, and lots of students was a sign this was going to be a night to remember. Yang, now in a beautiful short white dress with black heels stands at a podium welcoming the guests in. The doors in front of her open again and she flips out in awe upon seeing who walks in.
Yang: OOOOOOOHHHHH you look beautiful!
And in front of Yang was her little sister Ruby wearing a red dress with black lace, belt, pumps, and black heels which were killing her.
Ruby: *groans* Can we have a serious talk about how Weiss fights in these?
Yang laughs at her little sister before hugging her much to Ruby's embarrassment and bringing her in to the ballroom. Meanwhile outside of the ballroom, Sun is seen walking around and wearing a closed up black jacket while trying to tie a white tie hung around his neck, which he fails to do so.
Sun: Stupid... dumb... neck trap!
Blake: *giggles* I knew you'd look better in a tie.
Sun stops his struggling and stares Blake, wearing a short dark purple dress and nowhere her dark bags from earlier and instead for violet eyeshadow, as she helps him fixing the tie and takes him by the arm.
Sun: Sooo, does this mean we're going... together?
Blake: Technically, though my first dance is spoken for.
The pair enters the ballroom which Yang is heard yelling in excitement that Blake did make it to the dance as she hoped. But as more people kept coming, one person stayed outside looking at the stars feeling empty that her date hasn't shown up yet. Wearing a similar white dress to Yang was Weiss as she's been waiting for the Doctor to show up but nothing which was beginning to hurt her on the inside.
Weiss: Where are you Doctor...
