Chapter 23:
One moment she remembered falling asleep in the TARDIS and the next she wakes up back in her dorm room. Was it all a dream for Weiss Schnee? It couldn't be since she knew it felt so real but that's when she saw she was still in her dress from last night as she sighed in relief and joy remembering the dance, the necklace, and everything else. Looking at her scroll to show it's still two hours before the alarm usually goes off, Weiss decides to start off her morning early. Removing her formal dress and placing on her school outfit, she was now debating whether to practice her huntress skills or go to the library to look at some books involving time travel and space. She decides on going to train first until the library opens which won't be for another hour and it's closer to her first class. After leaving the room to let her teammates sleep and grabbing breakfast which was takeover from the Ocean's sky restaurant, she was ready to start the day.
Weiss: *looks at the necklace and smiles* Right, Off I Go!
Emerald: Hey! *Waves and walks to Weiss*
Weiss: Oh! Good morning! You're one of the huntresses from Haven, right?
Emerald: Mhm! Emerald Sustrai and you're Weiss Schnee, heiress to the Schnee Dust Company!
Weiss: O-Oh! Just Weiss is fine.
Emerald: Going for some morning training as well? My team is still knocked out by the dance last night but I still had enough energy to wake up early.
Weiss: I feel ya there. Why don't we do some spare training?
Emerald: Sounds good! Let's go!
The duo began to walk as Emerald looks behind her back and gives a nod to Cinder and Mercury who are watching from behind a building.
Mercury: You're sure this is gonna work?
Cinder: She may not give us too much details about the Doctor but she will at least give important information. Let's get to work shall we?
As Cinder hopes to get important information about the Doctor, the Doctor himself was back in Mountain Glen investigating once more with Dalek Khan as to what creatures are lurking. After exploring through the dead city and forest, they found a cave and carefully went to investigate.
The Doctor: Whether it's the Angels or Nerada, this place is already a graveyard. The only difference is that with the angels you can find ways to trap them here. Nerada, however, is a much-complicated situation.
Dalek Khan: HALT! Scans are picking up movement from the other side!
The Doctor: Not good. Can you see what it is or if it's coming this way?
Dalek Khan: I detect 3 figures, but all have body temperatures!
The Doctor: What in the name of sanity are they doing in here?! CMON, lets get them out of here.
As the Doctor and Dalek Khan proceed to find these three individuals, two figures watch from the entrance of the cave. Soon, Mountain Glen would be a place to never return. Back at Beacon, after a good sparing match that resulted in a draw, Weiss and Emerald are finally resting as Emerald prepares her comms in her ear for Cinder and Mercury to listen.
Emerald: A good way to start the morning and prepare for the festival.
Weiss: Already a week from tomorrow. How's your team doing?
Emerald: To be honest, they're confident. They have a really good feeling this is going to turn out well.
Weiss: Unless you face my team in one of the rounds.
Emerald: Match of the Festival?
Weiss: Definitely.
As both girls' giggle, Emerald finally had Weiss in the comfort zone and was ready to interrogate the Schnee princess about the time lord.
Emerald: By the way, have you been hearing the stories about a strange man appearing out of nowhere in Vale and supposedly has a police box.
This caught Weiss as she choked on her water and tried not to panic. How did Emerald know about the Doctor being around. Does she know he brings Team RWBY along? Has she been spying on him and possibly them? She needed to act cool and not reveal anything.
Weiss: O-OH?! U-Um...I think my sister mentioned something like that. Apparently, he was a student here in Beacon before he dropped off mysteriously.
Emerald: Really? Have you heard anything else or know anything?
Weiss: U-Uh... do you know anything about this?
Cinder: Keep her on focus, the more she gets nervous, she'll spill.
Emerald: His police box is not an ordinary one. It can disappear into thin air within seconds, some people have spotted it at the local park nearby.
This was very bad. This was trouble. Weiss felt the world stopped after learning this much information from Emerald about the Doctor. Someone had been watching him for who knows how long, and she feared the worst: Taking his TARDIS and hurting him or worse...killing him. She needed to find a way to close this conversation and FAST!
Weiss: T-That sounds like something out of a movie! Obviously, with training, the dance, and the festival, I haven't heard much other than what I told you.
Cinder: She's trying to not spill, find a way to push her buttons.
Emerald: Man, that's a shame. I wonder how it be if we took his police box for fun. My team has been exploring the park. What can it do? What if we got to meetup with him? That would be something. Imagine Remnant with that kind of technology or having someone who has soooo much knowledge. Wonder if he's human...or is friends with anyone? Wonder what would happen if we got to do something with him?
Weiss had enough, she needed to end this and leave as soon as possible. Her plans for the library will have to be for another time and need to head back to her dorms, tell her team and the Doctor. But for now, she needed to give them one warning to stay away. Once nervous and caught off guard, Weiss was back to serious.
Weiss: Actually, I just remembered a few things I've heard.
Emerald: WOW! Really! Spill!
Mercury: It was only a matter of time but we finally got her to crack.
Cinder: *smirks* That's it princess, tell us.
Weiss: He's not from here and he's not alone. He's got a partner that can exterminate anyone within seconds apparently. He's like a sniper and he's got an armor that not even a Grimm could damage. As for the man, I heard he's put the Grimms in fear which shocked us cause Grimms have no emotions...so we thought.
Emerald was beginning to back away and listen in fear as well as Cinder and Mercury as this was not the information they wanted, but rather complicates things even more.
Weiss: From what I've heard, He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and can see the turn of the universe. *Smiles softly* And... He's wonderful.
Mercury: Emerald! Get out of there!
Weiss: I lied about one thing however... I haven't heard of these things about him...I've seen him.
All three were left in shock and knew they needed to get out of there but just like Emerald trying to hold Weiss down, it was Weiss's turn.
Weiss: He is feared by many, he never raised his voice and he's never killed anyone. Why? Because he is simply being kind. That was the worst thing those who confronted him feared most… the fury of the Time Lord.
Even talking about him made Weiss tremble a bit knowing how powerful he can be. He was smart, ahead of everyone, isn't human, and is a storm that doesn't kill. Always going to danger but then she remembered his heart, his kindness as she looked at the necklace. He may be the Oncoming Storm to everyone known but to her and her friends, he was simply their friend The Doctor. When she turned around, Emerald was gone. Not wasting any time, she looked around just to be cautious and proceeded to grab her sword and run off. Not that far, Emerald meets up with her team as she's trying to grasp for air from panic while Mercury tries to help, and Cinder stands still looking at the ground.
Cinder: Fury...of a Time Lord...this is not good at all.
Running back to her dorm room, Weiss looked around to see if no one followed before running in and slamming the door as she locks it and places a chair on it which wakes up her team.
Ruby: Mmm...5 more minutes...*snores*
Blake: Weiss?...What's with the slamming-
Weiss: Someone knows about the Doctor! I think they've been spying on him.
Team RBY: WHAT?!
Weiss: She was asking me questions about him and if I knew anything.
Ruby: We need to call the Doctor and meet up with him immediately.
Yang: But class is going to start soon, we can't miss either.
Weiss: Lunch break then. We could be gone for an hour in the TARDIS, and it'll probably be a few minutes here.
Blake: That works. But we gotta be careful and make sure we don't have other eyes watching us or him.
Ruby: Weiss, who was it that asked you about the Doctor?
Weiss: I think her name was Emerald.
Ruby: Oh no! I know her! We've chatted a couple of times and talked at the dance.
Yang: Did she ask you anything about the Doctor?
Ruby: No...but we need to message the Doctor to meet us at lunch break.
All four girls agreed as Weiss would go on to message the Doctor. Both sides concerned about the time lord but with two different point of views: One worried about their secret of being with the Doctor and the other being concerned of what the Doctor is capable of in terms of destruction. Back in Mountain Glen, the Doctor and Dalek Khan continued to track the trespassers that are in the area with the entity still around.
The Doctor: Khan, Keep an eye for the entity while I try to get these guys out.
Dalek Khan: Understood.
With Dalek Khan standing on his ground, the Doctor lays behind a wall and peeks to see three White Fang members which he doesn't like. But as hears their conversation, he's not the only one that knows about the situation.
White Fang Member #1: Supposedly, this is where the disappearances have been happening.
White Fang Member #2: They say that once you get lost in these woods or approach this cave, people suddenly disappear with no traces of them except for their weapons.
White Fang Member #3: It's the Boss angry and Roman Torchwick conflicted cause no one knows what's going on.
White Fang Member #2: Do we even know what it is or looks like?
The Doctor kept listening but what he heard next shook him to the core. His two hearts dropped and lump on his throat as one of the members explained the appearance.
White Fang Member #3: Don't know but what I do find weird this all started happening when an angel statue began to appear.
White Fang Member #1: Cmon man, you don't think this is some paranormal type of thing.
White Fang Member #3: This town is a dead end and we've been exploring and building our lair here. Why all of a sudden, there is a statue placed and people began to disappear?
It was the Weeping Angels. It was them that entered through the cracks and now they were here. This is tragic news, he needed to warn Team RWBY and the rest.
Dalek Khan: Doctor!
The Doctor: Khan, it's the Angels!
Dalek Khan: DOCTOR! ALERT!
White Fang Member #1: Who goes there?
The Doctor: Khan...we need to get out NOW!
The Doctor, alerted and ready to run, turns around to his friend to see what he wished he wouldn't encounter: A Weeping Angel.
The Doctor: This is bad, this is bad.
White Fang Member #1: STOP!
The Doctor turned around to come face to face with the White Fang members as Dalek Khan continued to stare at the Weeping Angel.
White Fang Member #2: Bad idea being here dude.
The Doctor: Listen to me! There's no time to waste, get out of here, alert your group, your leaders, everyone to LEAVE this place. No one can be here at all if the Angel is the reason people have been disappearing.
White Fang Member #1: What nonsense are you talk-
White Fang Member #3: Whoa, whoa! What did you say?
The Doctor: There is one behind me and my friend, DONT. LOOK. AT IT. It's a Weeping Angel, you stare at it then you blink or look away and you're dead! You need to get out of here NOW!
The third member was right after all, the paranormal events were coming from the angel statue that appeared. Seeing the panicked look on the Doctor, he looks at his partners knowing they need to go.
White Fang Member #3: Let's drop it and go. If there is one behind him, we get the chance to run.
White Fang Member #1: This is stupid. You are not helping and YOU! *Points to the Doctor* Are coming with us to meet the Boss! Take him!
The Doctor was going to make a run for it but is held back by the White Fang members as he continues to warn them. Just as that happens, the lights in the cave begin to flicker and soon Dalek Khan would go into alert mode.
Dalek Khan: ALERT! ALERT! VISION EYESTALK IS DOWN!
This worried the Doctor even more until the lights went all out, which startles everyone but once they turn back on, they all look in horror to see the Angel behind the first member of the trio.
White Fang Member #1: Well, what are you waiting for? Let's Go! *Turns around*
The Doctor: DON'T!
It was too late as the member stared eye to eye with the Angel as the Doctor looks in horror and defeat. Seeing Khan's eyestalk reactivated and no longer held by the other two members, it was time to make a run.
The Doctor: I'm gonna say it one more time...Run!
The Doctor and Dalek Khan began to run to the other side of the cave from where they entered and soon the other two White Fang members followed dropping their weapons and making a run as the first member continued staring into the Angel's eyes until...he blinked.
The Doctor: Khan, into the TARDIS!
The duo continued running as the two White fang members ran as well not that far from behind. But soon the lights went out once again and the Angel appeared in front of the other White Fang member as he stared back at it. The third member wanted to go save him and sacrifice his own life.
White Fang Member #2: DONT! Just keep running and don't look back!
White Fang Member #3: But-
White Fang Member #2: GO NOW! It's okay...
The surviving member ran out of the cave as the second member continued staring at the angel before the lights went out and everything went into silence. Back in the TARDIS, The Doctor set out his coordinates to meet up with Team RWBY as fast as possible.
The Doctor: Khan! Alert Team RWBY to meet with us NOW!
Dalek Khan: UNDERSTOOD!
As the duo travel ahead of time within the TARDIS, the alert is sent ringing to all four girls who just started their lunch break. Looking at the message of Khan to meet them immediately brought concern because it could be of Mountain Glen or the Doctor being known and watched.
Ruby: Let's head off.
Blake: Do you think it's what Weiss told us?
Yang: One way to find out.
Walking back to their dorms and making sure they aren't being watched, Team RWBY walk inside and locked the door where for the first time ever, the TARDIS materialized in their room.
The Doctor: Oh good you're all here! Let's go for a little trip, we need to talk...and bring your weapons just in case.
The four girls looked at each other concerned but decided to bring their weapons and enter the TARDIS even though they were still in their school uniforms as it begins to disappear and off the crew goes.
The Doctor: We need to talk.
Weiss: Us too and it's not good news.
The Doctor: Ladies first! *winks*
Weiss: *smiles then sighs* Doctor...someone knows about you and possibly more.
Yang: They know about you and your TARDIS.
The Doctor: *sighs* No surprise, it was bound to happen eventually. Did they tell you or one of you found out?
Weiss: It was some girl named Emerald who told me about you.
Eyes widen from the Doctor realizing the person who has been possibly spying on him was one of the people he encountered and gave a warning. They didn't listem after all.
The Doctor: Emerald Sustrai...didn't know she goes here.
Blake: You know her!
Ruby: She's actually from Haven Academy.
The Doctor: And you believe that?
Ruby: Well- What? What do you mean by that?
Weiss: Doctor you seem calm about her. Have you two already met before?
The Doctor: *sighs* I didn't say anything since I thought they wouldn't be much of a problem but now that you tell me this, yes, I have.
Yang: What?! How long ago?
The Doctor: Almost 2 weeks ago when we went around Vale. While Ruby was dealing with Penny and you guys were distracted, Emerald decided to steal my identity badge. When I saw her turn to an alleyway, I saw her with two other people who were looking for more trouble than she was: Cinder Fall and Mercury Black.
Ruby: Those are her teammates!
The Doctor: Then this is bad because they are planning something about Beacon's fall.
Weiss: With what proof? Doctor we can't have actual evidence to explain what's going on in Mountain Glen to convince Ozpin-
The Doctor: About that.
Weiss: What is it?
Dalek Khan: We...know what the creature in the mountains is.
The Doctor: And it's one I hoped it wasn't here...
The girls looked concerned as the Doctor pulled up the computer screen in front of them and showed them an image of an angel statue which confused Team RWBY.
Yang: A statue?
The Doctor: To all of you it's a statue...but to us time lords it's a dangerous being. A Weeping Angel.
Blake: So how is a statue being the cause of the events in Mountain Glen?
The Doctor: They're quantum locked. They don't exist when they're being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature, they freeze and stay as a normal statue. Things happen when they are not being watched by our eyes. The Peaceful Killers, Lonely Assassins, Crying Grim Reaper, a few nicknames we've had of them. We don't know their origin or if they are from another universe, but we do know they are a big threat.
Weiss: How big?
Dalek Khan: As big of a threat as the DALEKS and the CYBERMAN!
That was the bullet that went through each of them knowing the Weeping Angel is the deadliest threat in Remnant.
Blake: How many were there?
The Doctor: One which I hope stays that way. Already killed two White Fang members that were trying to arrest me.
Blake: WHAT?!
Yang: The White Fang are there?!
The Doctor: Yes, but I do believe it won't be for long whether they decide to stay and confront the angel or leave. Look, if you were to compare any Grimms to a Weeping Angel, the Angel would kill it with ease.
Ruby takes a closer look at the Angel and notice that its covering its face.
Ruby: Why is it covering its face like it's crying?
The Doctor: They are not weeping. There are so many of them around my universe and they can't look at each other.
Weiss: So their greatest strength...
Yang: is there greatest weakness as well!
The Doctor: Correct! If Angels look at each other, they are locked staring at each other for many centuries. But if an Angel looks at anyone that isn't one of them, they're dead. They are much faster than anything unless you look at them. You look away or blink, you're dead.
Ruby: Khan, you're a Dalek. Aren't you guys immune to them?
Dalek Khan: No. They can mess with energy which can mess with our eyestalk and without it, we are unable to see.
The Doctor: If there so much electrical energy, the Angels can mess with it to get closer to the victim even if you are staring at it.
Weiss: Because we can't see in the dark...
Blake: This is bad then. Doctor, there's no way all those handprints on the walls could be made by one angel.
The Doctor: Like I said, they are very fast. Considering it's in the dark of the night and no one is watching them.
Ruby: This is too much to take in...we have spies at Beacon who are planning something and now...a weeping angel.
Weiss: *looks at him* What do we do?
The Doctor: Obviously, staying calm is out of the question. Let us handle it with Ozpin, if I'm there he will listen.
Yang: He's not here today remember? He needed a day off to work on personal issues.
Blake: Then tomorrow morning we do it.
The Doctor: The sooner the better. We get those troublemakers caught then close off the mountain so I can deal with the Angel.
Team RWBY all stayed quiet at the response about the Weeping Angel because they wanted to help the Doctor defeat this creature, but they didn't know how and feared facing it. Everyone thoughts were interrupted when a siren went off and the TARDIS was shaking as the Doctor checked the computer.
The Doctor: No no no... *runs to the door and opens it*
The girls followed to see what caused the Doctor panicking and it was something that left each of them jaw dropped: The Crack.
The Doctor: KHAN! SCAN THE CRACK!
Dalek Khan: SCANNING!
The Doctor: CLOSE THE DOOR! WE'RE TOO CLOSE TO THE CRACK!
Yang and Blake closed the door as the TARDIS shook more violently. The Doctor continued working with the buttons and trying to get away as Weiss joined to help.
Dalek Khan: INCOMING OBJECT APPROACHING!
The Doctor: NO! NO! We need to get out of here! EVERYONE HOLD ON!
Everyone latched onto to something as the Doctor pulled the lever sending the TARDIS flying into mega speed away from the crack. Now the problem is trying to stop it but it was all familiar for the Doctor and Khan.
The Doctor: KHAN! Remember how we avoided crashing in Remnant! We gotta do it again!
Dalek Khan: AFFIRMATIVE! HOLD!
Ruby: KHAN!
Dalek Khan: HOLD!
Blake and Yang: DOCTOR!
Dalek Khan: HOLD!
Weiss: DOCTOR!
Dalek Khan: NOW!
The Doctor: FULL POWER! HANG ON!
The Doctor pulled the lever once again as everyone held on inside the TARDIS before it crashed, sending everyone flying and knocking them out.
