The day the teenagers, all but Iris, went back to Hogwarts, was an odd day. It stared hectic, Mrs Weasley bustling around making sure everybody had all their trunk packs, and nothing else was needed. Fred and George made the mistake of using magic to get their trunks to float down the stairs, effectively knocking Ginny down. The screaming form Mrs Weasley easily matched that of the screaming from the picture of Wulburga Black. "MUDBLOOD, FILTH, BLOOD TRAITORS" Sirius's mum yelled

"YOU COULD HAVE KILLED HER, JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN USE MAGIC DOESN'T MEAN YOU NEED TO USE IT FOR EVERY LITTLE THING" Mrs Weasley ranted. Iris raised her eyebrow from where she was sat in the dining room, reading a classic magic children's book, the stories were of course made for kids, but Iris was just enjoying the fact she was able to understand most of it.

The red head had tried to ask if she could come to see the rest of the kids off to school, not because she particularly would miss them, not really, she just wanted to get out of the house for a while. Still, her request had quickly been shot down. She was to stay in the house with Sirius whilst several members of the order took the group to the train station.

Saying goodbye wasn't difficult for Iris, she hadn't grown attached to the other teenagers, except perhaps the Weasley twins, who corned her with wide grins and both pulled her into a tight group hug, chuckling at her resistance until Iris rolled her eyes and patted them both on the back. Fred was the first to break away, giving them a wink whilst George went slightly red "I'll write to you" He told her. "Send you some of our products so you can keep the place a little lively" he promised her

"I suppose I won't have much reason not to reply" Iris responded, moving a strand of hair behind her ear in an almost nervous gesture, walking with him to the rest of the departing group, she looked at her brother and offered a half smile "Try not to die" she offered him.

Harry let out a weak chuckle, shaking his head in amusement "Try not to go to insane here" he responded. He took one long glance at his long lost twin. Instantly feeling regret he didn't try harder to get to know her during the summer. So focused on his own issues he didn't spare the time to consider she had some as well. Knowing he wouldn't see the girl in a while, Harry held out his hand, Iris stared at it incredulously for a moment before she let a genuine smile over come her face and shook his hand.

The afternoon was the complete opposite to the morning. It was quiet. Only Sirius who had immediately gone to his room to start pouting. All of the Order members had tasks to do, whether it was undercover work like Remus or returning to work like Tonks and Mr Weasley, Mrs Weasley having gone back to her own home. Iris herself found herself sat in her room, looking around at the shabby walls and old furniture. The room was still almost as bare as it had been when she came well over a month ago. Only not there were some beauty products on the dresser underneath the dusty mirror, and a wardrobe full of nice clothes. The white bedsheets standing out against the yellowing of the rest of the room.

Iris hadn't really had the chance to look at the other bedrooms, not really wanting to go into anybody elses room, most of them having been occupied over the summer. But now they were all gone she finally had the chance to explore the rest of the house that she had been forced to clean. It wasn't do bad anymore, the walls all needed painting and the furniture needed fixing, but there weren't many dark creatures hanging around any more.

Over the next few days, Sirius sulking in either his room or with his hippogriff meant that he was oblivious to the fifteen year old girl moving around furniture. It wasn't until a loud clunking of something falling down the stair followed by a load of swearing, and his mother portrait being set off, did Sirius emerge to see what she was up to. The convict looking at the girl stood at the stairs above his floor, with a large bedframe currently half through the floor outside of his room. The redhead looking down with a small amount of guilt at the damage she had done. "Iris? What on Merlin are you doing?" Sirius asked.

The girl shrugged, starting to pick as her nails, trying to look disinterested "Well, since I'm stuck here, and with everyone gone, I thought I'd maybe decorate my room" Iris finished with a murmur, terrified of looking at the man in case she ended up being yelled at. Sirius looked between the bed in the floor and the girl before barking a laugh. The first time he'd laughed properly since realising his Godson wasn't going to be staying with him.

"Come on, lets see the damage you've caused" the man chuckled, using his wand to lift the bed out of the floor and floating it down the stairs to Iris's room, putting it down before fixing the hole left behind. "You've been swapping furniture for the bits you like" Sirius guessed "Where's that from? I didn't know we ever had one?" he wondered, looking at the pretty but old vanity she had found, swapping it for the mirror she swore would talk to her on occasion.

"In the attic" Iris shrugged "There's loads of stuff in there. I found some weird looking boxes too that I don't think I'd want to read, and loads of pictures. See" Iris grabbed a box from the floor and opened it to show the man plenty of photos, including some of him when her as younger.

"I'd assumed she's destroyed all evidence of me" Sirius murmured, looking at a photo of him and his younger brother, a photo that had bene taken right before Sirius left for Hogwarts for the first time "Perhaps she liked to remember the times before I was a disappointment" the man questioned out loud.

Quickly snapping out of it the man turned to look around the room in question "You've done a good job in here" he admitted. The girl smiled "I'm glad you've made a space for yourself. This is your home too" he was eager for the girl to know that, eager to remind himself he wasn't alone, there was somebody else here to. Somebody who was reliant on him.

"I was going to ask you if you could help me swap the wardrobe here for the one that was in Ginny's room, its prettier. And this would need to be mended, you have a spell for that right? And I was thinking if I got a small shelf I could start collecting the books I'd read so I can see them getting more advance, and so when Remus comes back he can see to-" Sirius just listened to the girl starting to animatedly discuss her plans for the room, understanding her excitement. Whilst she had enjoyed the fact she had ben give a room for the first time, in her words the largest one and the first that was just hers, being able to make it her own was always exciting. It was finally going to be her room, her first ever bedroom.

Sirius smiled softly at the girl, seeing her acting like a teenager with very few troubles was a privilege, considering usually she was constantly on guard and within herself, understandably of course considering he knew of her past, "You could swap out these curtains for the ones in the library if you like, the lighter colour might work better in here" Sirius offered and the girls eyes widened like she hadn't even considered curtains yet.

"Can I have the rug from the living room?" was her next question, excitedly running down the stairs when the answer was yes.
