Yanrede Island

Being inside the Navy base, Jin was whistling happily as he stood in the middle of a hallway. Then he gave a military salute to two people who passed close to him. Seeing them go, he doubled up. Staying in the corridor, one of the two Jin kept watch, while the second slipped into a room that served as a bedroom. Rummaging inside, Jin tried to find something interesting. Opening a trunk, he emptied it completely without finding anything, before doing the same with a cupboard. Throwing away the clothes he found everywhere, he ended up grumbling when he found nothing.

"Is what I'm looking for really here?"

Continuing to search the room, Jin suddenly stopped, hearing a funny noise. Looking down, to look at the parquet that covered the floor, Jin stamped his foot, only to find that the area where he was walking seemed to be hollow. Curious, he crouched down to tap the wood and noticed that it made a different noise. As if this place concealed a hole.

Removing the gloves from his suit, Jin scraped the ends of the planks of bundles and ended up digging a fingernail into a narrow groove. Lifting the floorboard without much difficulty, he saw that it was actually hiding what looked like a hole, where a bag was. Immediately grabbed it, Jin rummaged inside, before smiling behind his mask.

"Bingo."

Being talking to each other, many soldiers eventually saw two people arrive in the meeting room of the naval base.

"Hey, may I know what's going on here?" Garp asked. "Why is the whole town in chaos, when I've barely been away a day?"

"Vice...Vice Admiral Garp! Vice Admiral Emma!" A soldier enthused, seeing the pair. "Happy your happy."

"I asked you a question." Garp retorted. "What is this murder story? Can you morons tell me why there is a murderer loose on this island? Besides, many people are talking about a potential serial killer? Someone can someone explain it to me?"

Looking at each other, the soldiers in front of the duo did not know what to answer, for fear of suffering the wrath of the old man, who had charged them with taking care of the island, in his absence.

"A woman has been murdered."

Immediately, everyone turned to a man with a bandage around his nose, and dressed in civilian clothes.

"Garp-san, let me explain the situation to you." Apu offered, stepping towards him.

"Kaku?" the man wondered, looking at the soldier. "Where's your uniform?"

"His name isn't Abdul?" Emma questioned.

At first shocked that Garp didn't know his name, Apu managed to hide his frustration, before declaring.

"While you were away, someone took advantage of the situation to torture and kill a woman! Her body was discovered this morning. "

"Really? I thought patrols were supposed to take place though."

Smiling, while thinking of the perfect scapegoat, Apu announced.

"The truth is that..."

"Garp-san, let me explain what happened."

Startled, everyone turned to Coby, who had arrived, along with Helmep and Nakata.

"You?" Apu wondered.

Feeling the pain in his face return, the man pointed at him.

"YOU...You dared to hit me! How dare you do this when you are responsible for the death of a civilian? I promise you will regret it."

'' Hmm? Garp wondered. "Coby, can you explain to me?" "

In response, Coby walked towards Garp, before passing him. Then, continuing his walk, he walked towards Apu, before stopping in front of him, and staring him straight in the eyes.

"Grrrr! Who do you think you are?" Roared Apu, who saw his gesture as an act of defiance. "Do you want to fight? "

"I want to know...To know how a man like you decided to join the ranks of the Navy, while your soul is as black as coal."

" Sorry ? "

"We know it was you who killed Yae." Helmep stated.

"And we even have proof." Nakata affirmed.

Immediately, Apu's gaze changed, as he looked at the duo in surprise.

"Killed… Yae?"

Immediately veins of anger appeared on his face, as he created more steam with his nostrils.

"Who do you think you are? You are the people at fault in this story and you dare to accuse me? It's inexcusable! Okay, I often acted to be able to obtain a promotion and gain in rank, at the expense of quality of my work ... but I have always worked on the side of justice! You dare to accuse me without a shred of proof and ... "

"Are you deaf?" Coby asked, remaining perfectly calm. "Nakata-san just told you that we had proof."

flabbergasted to hear this, Apu took a step back, while seeming unable to understand what Coby had just said to him. Then, turning to Garp, he said.

"Garp-san...don't listen to them! This is manipulation! I never...This is ridiculous!"

Looking at the two men in front of him, as he was about to eat another donut, Garp ended up putting the pastry back in the bag. Then, staring at the two men seriously, he finally told Coby.

"Coby...I think it's useless for me to tell you that this kind of accusation is liable to a heavy sentence, if you are unable to prove what you affirm! In that case, are you really sure of what you're saying?"

Trying to look at Garp with a gaze filled with confidence, the soldier said.

"I'm ready to prove what I say."

Nodding, Garp let himself sit on the floor, before crossing his arms.

"Fine...I'm listening."

"That's ridiculous!" Apu retorted. "Don't listen to him! This guy...he's just jealous of me! Because I'm a promoted soldier with a great future! I'm..."

"Here is the first proof."

At that moment, everyone watched as Jin arrived, with a plastic bag in his hand.

"It was hidden under the floor of Apu's cabin." He stated, throwing the bag on the floor.

Immediately, everyone saw clothes coming out of the bag, which was a blood-covered uniform. Seeing this, Apu seemed surprised to recognize his uniform, while he was still dressed in civilian clothes.

"My...my uniform?"

"Oh?" Emma said. "Hiding his blood-covered uniform? I call that proof."

"It…It's not what you think." Apu retorted. "I... This morning, I couldn't find my uniform! Someone stole it from me last night!"

Pointing to the bloodied clothes, he declared.

"This is not proof that I killed him! Besides, nothing tells us that this red liquid is human blood! If it is, it is just animal blood and someone is trying to accuse me! That's not proof that I killed Yae."

"What if we have witnesses?" Sakura questioned.

Arriving in turn, the young girl was in the company of Yae's two friends, before in the room, while seeming frightened.

"Civilians?" Apu wondered.

Seeming to recognize him, the two women moaned in fear, before stepping back.

"It's him! He's the one who hit us." Assured one of the two women.

"And he left taking Yae with him." The other added.

"What...?" Apu wondered.

"He's the one who killed Yae." The two girls affirmed.

at this moment, astonishment was seen on the face of the colossus, who tried to understand what he was accused of. Finally, stepping back, seeing everyone staring at him, he declared.

"I...It's not me! I...I've never seen these women before! I..."

Looking back at Garp, he swore.

"I am accused of a murder that I did not commit."

Remaining calm, Garp finally affirms.

"Apu...I think you should be investigated! The evidence against you compels me."

" But I did not do anything. "

At that moment, Coby advanced towards him, while declaring.

"You really don't know when to give up."

Staring at the young man, Apu clenched his fists, before roaring.

"You...you're the one responsible for this! You're nothing and you're trying to destroy my career! I'll never forgive you."

At that moment, he rushed towards Coby. Unable to be surprised like earlier, Hour swung his fists at Coby, trying to hit him first. Jumping back, Coby dodged his first charge, before putting distance between them. Seeing this, Emma asked.

"Should we do something?"

"Are you kidding?" asked Garp. "Coby is destined to be an elite soldier! If he can't beat a man like Apu, he's not worth my interest in."

Hitting a table, trying to knock Coby out, Apu was surprised to see him jump on top of him, before lifting his leg as high as he could.

"Brute strength can be the key to victory in battle! But when a soldier trusts only in his strength, he can never rise in rank."

At that moment, Coby's foot came down and hit Apu's skull.

"Strength, intelligence, speed, stamina...if he wants to become a high-ranking soldier, a soldier must know how to maximize all of these skills, which Coby is capable of."

Crashing into the tiles, Apu was left prone, as Coby knocked him out again, with a single blow. Staring at the man at his feet, Coby remained silent. In fact, he couldn't help but think back to Yae, when she gave him her present.

Seeing this, Garp stood up, before ordering.

"Take Apu to the infirmary! And when he wakes up, put him in the interrogation room."

Then, looking at Yae's two friends, he continued.

"And take their statements, I want to know everything that happened, during this evening."

"Yes, Vice Admiral."

Remaining silent, Nakata saw the soldiers grab Apu, while she saw Coby leave the room. Deciding to follow him, she saw him continue walking, before stopping. At that moment, she saw him hitting a wall, while he seemed angry.

"Why? Why? Why?"

Thinking back to Morgan, and the tyranny with which he had controlled Shell Town, Coby asked.

"Why? The Navy... it's the police of our world! We're supposed to represent justice! So why?"

At that moment, dropping down cross-legged, he began to sob with rage.

"I... I got it to Lucy-san! I promised her I'd bring justice wherever I was! And I let an innocent woman be killed by a Navy trooper." I'm...I'm an incompetent."

Suddenly, he felt Nakata's back touching his, while the girl was sitting against him.

"Coby-san...you are amazing! You are the man who investigated so as to find the murderer, in less than a day! What you did, few soldiers can claim to have done as much! On this island, you may be the man who truly symbolizes what is justice."

Saying nothing, Coby still felt the tears streaming down his cheeks. Yet he knew he perfectly what he had to do. Immediately, a person's face appeared in his mind, as he remembered Luffy's words.

Finally, standing up, he grabbed Nakata's hand, before smiling at her.

"Nakata-san…thank you.

Immediately, the young nurse's cheeks turned red, as she admired Coby's smile.

"He smiled at me! He smiled at me."

Looking happy, Nakata was in the naval base's infirmary. Cleaning several surgical utensils, she was smiling, through her surgical mask. Around her, a few doctors were around Apu's body, while he had been assigned to treat him, so that Garp could question him as soon as possible.

Glancing at the man who had hit her, Nakata put on a disgusted look as she lost her smile. Being taking Apu's pulse, a doctor said.

"His life is not in danger! Normally, he should regain consciousness shortly."

"I know Apu was never a man I wanted to emulate but... do you really think he's a murderer?" Another doctor asked.

"I don't know! Actually, I..."

At that moment, Apu's hand began to move.

"Hmm?"

While watching the door of the infirmary, two soldiers were startled by hearing shouts coming from the room.

"Hum?" they wondered.

At this moment, the door was pulverized, while the body of one of the doctors, before being projected above. Immediately grabbing their weapons, the two soldiers looked inside the room and were surprised at the carnage there. On the ground, the bloody and lifeless bodies of the doctors could be seen, while Apu was standing in the center of the room.

"What...what...?"

Seeing the two soldiers, Apu kept a stoic gaze, before running towards the hall window. Without hesitation, he rushed against the glass surface and pulverized it. Immediately, seeing him flee, one of the soldiers brandished his rifle towards him and fired. The projectile managed to hit Apu's back, while the body of the man, who was on the first floor, fell until it hit the ground.

Running to the window, the two men leaned over to see Apu, who had managed to land on his feet. Then, as the bullet did nothing to him, he began to run, in order to leave the base.

"You won't flee." A soldier retorted, aiming at him.

Pulling, he managed to pierce Apu's leg. Yet even this injury did not slow down.

"What...? Impossible!"

"Raise the alarm." His comrade ordered him, before jumping out the window.

Landing hard on the ground, he then targeted Apu, before firing several times. twice his bullets managed to hit Apu. Yet again, nothing seemed to slow Apu down. In fact, no trace of blood even seemed to come out of his wounds.

" What does that mean ? "

Being in town, Helmep, Jin and Sakura were in front of Yae's two friends, who were bowed in front of them.

"Thank you! Thank you for your help."

" No need to thank us. " Sakura retorted.

"We just did our job and..."

"But...we misbehaved with you! We insulted you when you wanted to help us."

"No worries." Helmep assured. "Anyway, it's not like a guy like me deserves to be congratulated! I still have a long way to go to become a hero like Coby."

"You will never become a hero like Coby."

" What did you say ? "

Suddenly, sounds of detonation were heard.

"Huh?" the trio wondered.

Then, in an instant, they gave shocked looks, seeing the silhouette of Apu, fleeing, through the streets of the city.

"A…Apu?"

The pursuer, a soldier stopped, before declaring.

"Quick, we have to stop him! He fled after killing several people!"

" What ? "

Being in the infirmary, Coby looked at the many corpses on the ground, while soldiers brought out the bodies of the doctors whom Apu had just killed.

" Impossible ... "

Then, thinking of one of the people who was to end up in the infirmary, he began to shout.

"Nakata...Nakata-san...where are you?"

Starting to search through the corpses, he tried to find his friend's.

"Nakata..."

"Co...Coby!"

Turning around, the man saw a small figure emerging from under a bed where she had been hiding. Sobbing and shaking with fear, the young nurse was alive, with a simple head injury.

" I was afraid ... "

Suddenly, she felt Coby's arms go behind her, as he hugged her.

"I was so scared for you."

Continuing to run, Apu ends up getting belted by Jin. Appearing above him, two more Jin grabbed his arms to immobilize him, while another clone punched him in the back of the skull. Seeming to lose his balance, Apu managed to stay upright in extremis. Then, struggling, he ends up ejecting several of the clones to the side, in order to continue his race. Still trying to hold him, the clone who belted him ended up feeling Apu's hand grab his head, before throwing him brutally against a wall.

But already Helmep arrived and slashed Apu's back with his swords. Slicing through his flesh, the man was surprised to feel his blades slicing through something that didn't look like flesh. Moreover, no trace of blood came out of Apu's wound, while the man continued to run, as if nothing had happened.

"What's his problem with him? Coby knocked him down twice, in one blow! Why isn't he collapsing with all those injuries?"

Suddenly, finally stopping, Apu being in the port of the island, in front of the ocean. Lying behind him, Jin, Helmep and Sakura were in the company of a dozen soldiers who were already pointing their weapons at Apu.

"On your knees! Now!"

"Hands on your head or we shoot."

Standing still, Apu eventually turned to the group of soldiers, while still displaying a stoic gaze. Then, finally, roaring, he pretended to rush towards them. Unfortunately, as soon as he took a step a shower of projectiles hit his chest and the impact ejected him backwards. Finding himself above the water, he ends up falling into the ocean.

Running immediately, Helmep saw him disappear under the water. then, remaining motionless for a few seconds, he did not see Apu coming back up.

" It's finish. "

Kurusi Island

Many shocks were heard while the ground seemed to shake several times. Attempting to avoid Berkam's attacks, Isuka aimed her sword at him before striking him. Aiming for Berkam's legs, the girl had pierced them several times.

Usually, such attacks were enough to immobilize his enemies. Yet, despite the wounds and the blood streaming down his pierced legs, Berkam continued to fight, at the risk of worsening the condition of his legs.

"Why?" Isuka wondered. "Where do his sudden murderous impulses come from?"

Seeming, indeed, to be driven solely by his murderous urges, Berkam continued to roar, while ignoring his wounds. Seeing him focused on Isuka, the still able-bodied soldiers targeted him, before firing into his back. Feeling the projectiles puncture part of his muscles, Berkam roared again, while turning to them. at that moment, having arrived with a mini-bazooka, one of the soldiers aimed at his face and fired. Hit, Berkam's head disappeared inside a cloud of smoke. Yet, despite taking a step back, the former commodore managed to stay on his feet.

Then letting the smoke disperse, Berkam showed his face which was more covered with wounds. Enraged, he pretended to rush towards the soldiers.

Seeing this, Isuka targeted his legs again and stabbed them with his sword. Immediately, one of Berkam's knees landed on the ground. Despite not feeling pain, Berkam's body had been so damaged by Ace's attacks that he was now unable to move him as he wanted. His left leg was the one that received the most injuries and it showed as Berkam tried to get back to his feet.

"We got him !" Rejoices a soldier.

Stepping towards Berkam, Isuka watched him scream in rage as he kicked his leg, trying to get it to move. Looking at him, she had the impression of seeing a real rabid animal.

"Berkam-san..."

At this moment, sounds of detonation were heard. Shot in the head, the few soldiers still present were killed by someone targeting them with a firearm. Still on her roof, Monet was behind the shooting. Having seen Berkam in difficulty, Monet had decided to react by killing the soldiers. Then, targeting Isuka, she aimed at her.

Saved by a reflex, Isuka jumped back. Unfortunately, the projectile pierced her leg. Screaming in pain, she collapsed to the ground, dropping her sword. Taking her leg, she tried to put pressure on her wound, to stop the blood.

Seizing her cloak, she tore it and tried to make a bandage with which she covered her wound. Nevertheless, in the midst of her care, she froze, while a shadow covered her. Raising her face, she saw Berkam, who had just been able to get back to his feet, while his left leg trembled under the weight of his body. Faking Isuka angrily, he ended up raising his fist in the air.

Seeing this, Isuka couldn't help but feel her body shaking in fear, as a tear rolled down her cheek.

"Berkam-san... please."

Seeming to stare at her, Berkam remained motionless for a few seconds. Then, at that moment, his lips moved.

"I...su...ka..."

Opening her eyes, the lieutenant stared at him. Nevertheless, Berkam's fist ends up falling on her. Yet, instead of crushing her, Berkam felt his fist hit a wall of flames, which shielded Isuka. Appearing in front of the young woman, Ace had just protected her from certain death.

"Portgas?"

Feeling a trickle of blood flow out of his mouth, Ace just stared at Berkam, while declaring.

"I think there's no point in trying to talk to him."

Seeing him then ignite his fist, Isuka cried out.

"No, stop! Berkam...I'm sure he's being manipulated! He's...He's..."

"He's doomed." Ace told him simply.

Shocked, Isuka saw him walk towards Berkam, while seeing his many wounds, which covered his entire body.

"I don't know if he is manipulated by a drug or if he is hypnotized but, it is what manipulates him that allows him to stay alive! His organs are burned! He has many fatal injuries And his head is completely charred!"

Looking at Berkam, he declared.

"It's too late to save him.

" What ? "

At that moment, Ace jumped up to dodge Berkam's fist. At that moment, both of his knees touched the ground, while the commodore began to vomit blood. Not even being able to withstand the power of his attacks, Berkam was damaging his body more every time he moved. Seeing him do this, Ace looked at him, before covering his fist again with his flames.

Seeing him do this, Berkam began to roar, over and over, while waving his arms. However, his right arm eventually stopped moving, while the limb couldn't move. Seeing him look like a puppet whose threads began to cut one by one, Ace remained silent. But seeing him continue to walk towards Berkam, Isuka crawled on the ground, before grabbing one of his legs.

"No, stop! Berkam...I'm sure he can be saved! Berkam...he's a nice person! He's a hero! My hero! He's...He's..."

"I...su...ka!"

Turning their gaze to Berkam, the duo were surprised to see tears appear in his eyes, which no longer had pupils.

"Help...me..."

Hearing these two words, Ace made Isuka step back, before rushing towards Berkam. Then, fist back, he intensified the power and size of his flames. Seeing him do this, Berkam aimed his good arm at him. But, unable to use haki, his fist passed through Ace's body, without causing him the slightest injury. Then, a moment later, Ace's fist struck his abdomen, piercing it, before charring the inside of his body.

Still frozen, Isuka heard him let out a roar of agony, while the inside of his body was scorched by Ace's flames. Then, covering the outside of his body, the flames made him disappear, before turning him into a pile of ash.

"BERKAM-SAAAAAAAANNNNNNN"
