In the control room, Owen and Wu were being lectured by Claire before Owen showed Claire the graphics they printed. And Claire was baffled upon seeing it actually featured Valentina's brain activity. And speaking of Valentina, she was enjoying childish Youtube videos alongside Ivy and Iris. Valentina was also learning how to pronounce words while Ava was listening to Claire. The operations manager was surprised upon how a toddler could sneak inside a highly-secured paddock. But there was even worse.
"And someone filmed a video and posted it on social media." Claire stressed.
"Fuck. If someone with ill intentions sees it, he'll be able to track Valentina down." Ava said.
"Actually, we might have an explanation for the contents of the video." Owen told.
"Please Owen, Henry tell it for dumbasses like me." Claire pleaded.
"First, Roberta didn't attack Valentina after the little girl snuck into the paddock. Second, Ava wasn't attacked either. Which means Valentina has a connection with dinosaurs. As funny as it can get, it's a new discovery." Wu started.
"That means my niece is somewhat very relaxed when around dinosaurs. Which are equally relaxed upon seeing her." Owen said.
Claire looked at Valentina and saw how happy she looked as Ivy and Iris enjoyed the toddler's company. Claire, Owen, Wu and Ava saw how the hybrids barked at Valentina and were also eating Oreo cookies while chirping in delight. Valentina also giggled upon feeding the animals with her Oreos. Claire turned to Ava, who gave her a cocky grin. Suddenly, Valentina jumped from her stool and ran to her uncle before hugging his legs. Ava then leaned to Claire's ear.
"So, you loooking for a second date with Dad?" Ava whispered teasingly.
"No. And now, I better understand why your father never really got along with your uncle." Claire whispered back.
Suddenly, a voice with a marked Indian accent called, "Claire!"
Turning around, Ava and Claire saw their boss, Simon Masrani aka the eighth richest man in the world coming into the control room. It didn't surprise Ava since Masrani often did some unannounced visits to Jurassic World to avoid getting too much media attention. But today, he heard the two new dinosaurs were ready for him despite being a busy man.
"Mr. Masrani? What are you doing here?" Claire asked.
"Checking my park's progress." Masrani said before seeing Wu. "Ah, Dr. Wu! Are my new animals ready?"
"Actually... They are way more lively than we thought." Ava vouched for everyone in the room before handing Masrani her sketches.
Masrani then saw Valentina with Ivy and Iris, covered in cookie crumbles. Even the owner of Jurassic World couldn't believe his eyes while the two animals looked at him curiously. But he also remembered the video of Valentina on Youtube.
"I guess it's your niece Valentina, Mr. Grady." Masrani told.
"Guess you've seen the fucking video." Ava said before putting five dollars into Claire's swear jar.
"Of course. And I'm not mad. I just needed to see this for myself. As for you all, the two new animals will stay under Valentina's eyes while we build the paddock, which is to be as close to Mr. Grady's house as possible." Masrani replied.
"Phew, now that I know that Valentina controls the two Indominus Rexes, aka Ivy and Iris while Ava and her father Owen control the raptors." Claire said.
"See, it's all about control with you. It's a relationship built upon respect. That's why you and Dad never had a second date." Ava pointed out to Claire.
"Excuse me! I never told I wanted a second date with your father!" Claire replied.
But Valentina did hear her father telling her Owen wasn't that good with girls at school. That was until Owen met Ava's mother, who happened to be just as terrible at dating as Owen was. But since Ava lost her mother, the teen would witness her father's disastrous attempts at dating women. But the argument made Wu and Masrani chuckled since it reminded them of any married couple or blended family while Valentina didn't understand the extent of Owen and Ava's clumsiness with middle-aged women.
"Who prints an itinerary for a night out?" Owen told Claire.
"I'm an organized person!" Claire defended.
"Organized uh? What kind of diet doesn't allow tequilla?" Owen asked back.
"All of them actually. And what kind of man shows up to a date wearing board shorts while his daughter is still wearing cutt-offs?"
"It's Central America. It's hot and humid." Ava justified.
Claire sighed upon Ava's cockiness, "Please, could we just focus on the assets?"
"Assets?" Ava asked upon seeing the two baby Indominus Rexes running around Valentina's legs. "You're the operations manager, so you have to make harsh decisions. It's probably easier to see animals as numbers in a spreadsheet but they aren't. They're alive."
"I fully aware of that." Claire told the teen.
"Look, they may have been made but they don't even know that." Owen replied. "They're just thinking I gotta hunt, I gotta eat, "I gotta..."
Owen then punched wildly to suggest sexual behavior. Claire sighed in annoyance, not amused by it while Valentina had no idea what her uncle was suggesting. Ava made a face since she knew what her father meant with this gesture. But she decided to put an end to all that.
"You can relate to at least one of the things Dad said, don't you? Oh, and please give us passes. Just in case. We'll make sure the two dinos here are alright." Ava said.
"Fine. You got me on this, Ava. But first." Claire replied.
At Jurassic World Gift Shop, Ava had already dressed her cousin as someone else, since the teenager was a real tomboy, unlike Valentina who was a very girly girl and was so used to fairy tale stereotypes she didn't accept being dressed as a boy. Valentina remembered her mommy and daddy telling her girls had to wear pink clothing and most importantly, dresses and skirts. Ava had indeed disguised her cousin as a tiny American soldier before putting Ivy and Iris into a satchel, adding perfection the disguise. Owen then saw the final result and added a heartbeat sensor for Wu to keep monitoring Valentina from a distance.
But Valentina pouted as she followed her uncle into the Jurassic World Lagoon. The exhibit was like a marine animal parks where people came to see dolphins, fur seals and orcas perform. But instead, it had an 18-meter long Tylosaurus. Upon entering the Mosasaurus Arena, visitors could watch the Tylosaurus Feeding Show, but there was also the Underwater Laboratory where people could see the Tylosaurus up close. More than a thousand visitors were watching the show with Owen and his daughter sitting in the middle. Everyone was wearing a poncho due to the large area of the splash zone. Valentina was boouncing back and forth because the toddler wanted to see the Tylosaurus. Suddenly, a huge dead shark appeared above Sarah the announcer as the mechanical hook brought it over the lagoon. Valentina then wondered what was happening.
"The Tylosaurus was thought to have hunted near the surface of the ocean where it preyed on anything it could sink its teeth into. Including turtles, fish, sharks and even smaller mosasaurs." Sarah explained from her perch as the crowd was whispering in excitement.
"Okay folks, let's see if she's still hungry after eating today. She's a little shy, so be nice and give her a hand when she comes out." Sarah said with a smile.
As soon as Sarah finished her announcement, the Tylosaurus bursted out of nowhere and jumped out of the water while Iris and Ivy peaked out of the satchel. The Tylosaurus then snapped its huge jaws into the dead shark and dragged it underwater, sending a pool of water onto the crowd. Owen was glad to be wearing a poncho, or else he would have been wet while the crowd clapped in awe at the big marine reptile. The two hybrids and Valentina were just as impressed while Ava was just waiting for yet another favor she could owe to anyone in the park.
"Okay, hold on tight. We're giving you an even closer look at our Tylosaurus." Sarah explained.
As the bleachers reached the bottom, everyone could see the underwater Tylosaurus grabbing the tail of the shark and swallowing it whole. As the audience was chearing, Ava took her chance and left the exhibit to meet with Sarah and the handler Tiffany.
"It is weawwy big!" Valentina commented.
"Sure it is." Owen replied.
As everyone left, Owen carried his niece towards Tiffany, who was very knowledgeable in marine biology, explaining why she got assigned as the handler. Once meeting up with Tiffany, Owen saw his daughter already donning a wetsuit after handing her M4A1 rifle and her Glock 17 to the guard next to the handler before Tiffany gave Ava some instruments to make sure the water was at the right temperature but also a huge provision of baits. Suddenly, he also saw Sarah the announcer taking a break.
"Hey, what's up Tiffany?" Owen called out.
"Hey Owen! What's up with your niece?" Sarah asked.
"Well for the disguise, it was Ava's idea. And what did she ask for?" Owen replied.
"I'm worried our Tylosaurus got so used to eating sharks it will refuse to eat tuna or salmon." Tiffany said.
As Owen was chatting with the two females, they weren't aware that Valentina was climbing on the stairs with Iris and Ivy behind. Valentina absolutely wanted to see the Tylosaurus again, even if it meant not obeying her uncle. It only took a short while before a first black silhouette slowly coming their way. Looking further, Valentina saw it was the Tylosaurus and giggled brightly before the Tylosaurus named Tilly saw the toddler and pressed her snout onto the glass. But a noise briefly distracted Tilly and it turned out to be Ava throwing tuna into the pond. Needless to say, the hungry Tylosaurus swallowed the big tunas the teenager was throwing into the pond.
As Owen and his two colleagues ran to Valentina, the two adult females understood the toddler was actually Owen's niece while Owen clearly understood there was something between his niece and Tilly while Tiffany and Sarah recorded the video before sending it to Dr. Wu after getting an affirmative nod from Owen. Soon, Claire texted Owen and the Utahraptor handler took his phone.
"Claire sent me a text reading I just got informed by Henry that the interactions between your niece and the animals in the park are evolutionary." Owen read the text aloud.
Suddenly, Ava appeared from the staff door still wearing her wetsuit before giving a thumb's up to everyone, meaning she both knew what was going on, and Tilly the Tylosaurus was positive about eating something other than shark. Sarah and Tiffany nodded to Ava, who went to the back to change back to her daily clothes.
