After Valentina's adventure with the Tylosaurus, Ava and her father agreed she should be watched 24/7 by Wu's team, since the discovery of the toddler's connection with the animals in the park. But in return, Claire and Wu accepted to keep it a secret until further notice and so they erased and destroyed all their research relating to this discovery just in case, preventing anything from leeking to the public sphere. But there were two bad news. The first one was that the Indominus Rex sisters grew faster than anticipated, meaning Ava had to build larger cages for them to keep them in check, since they and Valentina had a gift to always cause trouble due to their curiosity always getting the better of them.
The second one was, of course, Vic Hoskins.
He wanted to figure out why dinosaurs were that docile when next to Owen's niece and expand his research project to all dinosaurs, even if it meant stealing others' work to get extra credit. But Wu, Owen and Claire always got a step ahead, since the trio always destroyed their research so that no one except them and a select few knew about Valentina's secret. Ava also made sure the female Dimetrodon, now named Danni, was always ready for tests, which showed how docile the two Indominus Rexes were.
And it was precisely after one of these tests that Wu spotted Hoskins. The scientist knew too well dinosaurs shouldn't and mustn't be tamed as weapons, but as pets and recreational animals since he saw it firsthand while studying Valentina's interactions with the creatures in the park. Wu, followed by Ava, quickly ran into the elevator, but today wasn't their lucky day since Hoskins managed to catch up with them. Once Hoskins was inside, the doors closed as Wu sighed in annoyance.
"What the fuck do you what, fat body?" Ava asked in a Marine-like tone.
"Fine thanks. Heard new dinos were made in the lab, right?" Hoskins asked, not getting Ava's irony.
"You people should know that it's always classified until we open it to the public, which means getting Masrani's authorization first. Claire won't tell you anything either, since she knows this, too." Wu sternly replied as he and Ava left the elevator. But before Hoskins could say a word, Ava showed the head of security her middle finger with her left hand while pressing all of the other buttons with the right one. As Hoskins tried to yell, the teenager looked elsewhere.
"Shut the fuck up, Hoskins. You always were a fucking crushing bore." Ava whispered.
Wu smirked as he went to buy meat at Winston's Steakhouse where people could have meat and seafood for lunch. He bought a lot of meat for Ivy and Iris the hybrids and Danni while Ava bought veggie burgers for her cousin, as well as cheeseburgers and fries for herself, her father and Claire. As the duet headed to the lab, they successfully avoided Hoskins, whom Ava sent everywhere at once previously. But as they arrived, they saw Claire and Owen standing next to Valentina, who was now reading a fairy tale named Cinderella to Ivy and Iris.
Everyone stopped focusing on the tale before remembering Wu and Ava had gone to buy some food for the evening. As the two hybrids and the Dimetrodon looked at him, Wu carefully laid their lunch down while Ava gave her cousin the veggie burgers the teen bought before sharing her big meal with her father and Claire. As soon as everyone finished their lunch, Owen took his niece home before whispering something to his chuckling daughter. Wu also agreed to meet the Grady father and daughter at the Utahraptor Pen at 9:00 pm, since both the three were curious about the Utahraptor pack's reaction to seeing Valentina again.
But for now, Ava went for Claire and tapped the redhead's shoulder. The operations manager turned around to see Ava who took her apart to tell the adult woman something. Claire was impatient to know why the teen had to take them to an isolated corridor. But Ava knew what she was doing, since Ava knew Claire's nights were always time off and the teen also knew of the Park Operations Manager's days off.
"Spill the beans, Ava." Claire said.
"Dad wants you to come at our house for dinner tonight. Consider it... your second date with Dad." A smirking Ava told Claire before going after Owen, leaving a blushing Claire behind.
Even if it was past bedtime for Valentina, she couldn't help but jump back and forth due to her uncle telling her they would go back to the Utahraptor paddock again. But this time there would be Wu and Claire would also be present due to being on her time off. And as soon as Claire arrived at Owen & his daughter's house, she saw Wu was there and had a huge black suitcase while Ava was dressed in her surplus military combat clothing as usual. Soon they drove to the Utharaptor Pen where Wu and other staffers unpacked equipment while Ava helped her cousin out of her baby chair. Valentina was indeed wearing a pink Utahraptor onesie contrasting with her cousin's more casual looks. Claire also helped Wu set up Ivy and Iris' custom cage on the trunk of Wu's pickup truck.
"Why is she -"
"It's gonna be fucking hard to tell." Ava answered before helping her father open the gate.
And the duet then the lights on, since Claire asked Lowery and Vivian to keep the security cameras in this very area off for the night. She didn't want Hoskins to find out either, since she knew all too well what Vic Hoskins could do with those research. So she accepted this unofficial date not to think too much about it. Then, Ava saw four heads poking out of the thick undergrowth through her night-vision goggles. And the four heads turned out to be Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo who saw the group of strangers, their two Alphas and Valentina but with two strange animals they never saw before.
The four Utahraptors chirped and ran towards the gate upon seeing Valentina before stopping and cooeing. Ava and her father, as well as Claire and Wu found it fascinating, since Owen and his daughter raised the four dinosaurs themselves, playing with them before the four animals started getting more and more aggressive as they grew bigger and bigger. The foursome then began to wonder more and more about Valentina's connection with the four Utahraptors.
Ava then whistled for the four Utahraptors to stay on her. And the four dinosaurs saw Ava was wearing a strange thing on her eyes as Owen put a wireless brainwave headset upon his niece. Claire took the distraction to put another similar apparel onto Blue's head. But as Claire began approaching Charlie, the latter snapped at Ava who used her father's gesture to calm the pack dow until Valentina waved at them, giving space for Claire to finish the job and come back to Ava.
Meanwhile, Wu noted how well-behaved the animals were towards Valentina as was Owen, who remarked the difference. When Valentina was around, the dinosaurs were very calm whereas they were very agitated and aggressive when Owen or his daughter were nearby, forcing them to stay for five or ten minutes straight. At least, when Ava wasn't at school. But as Ava opened the gate, the four Utahraptors began licking and playing with a giggling Valentina under everyone's surprised eyes.
"Holy fuck..." Ava muttered. "Did anyone see that?"
"Yeah. And the computer shows the same results as the one we all saw when Claire lectured us." Owen told his daughter.
Wu and Claire nodded, remembering the graphics they were shown after experimenting with Danni the Dimetrodon. But the foursome also saw how at ease Valentina was with the dinosaurs, being the small and gullible toddler she was. Even Ivy and Iris were enjoying good time with their four new friends, thus confirming Wu's theory about Valentina having a very particular gift. But little did Wu, Claire, Owen and Ava know someone wanted this gift, for more sinister purposes.
Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean was another tropical island. But this one had hybrids created by a delusional mad man, who also turned out to have kidnapped hundreds of thousands of orphaned children and homeless people around the world. This man turned them into living bioweapons and forced them to fight each other before sadistically killing the loser while locking the winner up, to the point only three of them managed to survive this brutality. But no one knew about him minus his henchmen, since he was wanted in nearly 150 countries for a laundry list of crimes, including the US, the UK, France, Senegal, DR Congo, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Morocco, Israel, Romania, Japan, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Uruguay and even South Korea.
This man was so sadistic that Interpol, the FBI, the US Marshals, Europol, the Arab League, NATO and even non-NATO allies of the US put a huge bounty of over $50,000,000 to whoever managed to kill or capture him. Problem was, he was so clever he always went under the radar and Special Operations units, as well as many military troops only found weapons caches he sold to terrorist organizations while police forces found weapon stashes in cities while busting crime syndicates. And the evil man even became allies with terrorist organization such as Al-Qatala, the Quds Force, the FSB, the Ejercito de Las Almas or, worse, ISIS.
This man's name was Renaldo Mortem and wanted the source of absolute power. An his son was named Uberto and turned out to be just as sadistic as he was.
Mortem was in his office alongside his son, watching scientists working on the next batch of hybrids and smirked at this. They wanted those animals to be ready for training when someone knocked on their door, getting their attetion.
"Come in." Uberto loudly announced.
A man wearing a black pair of trousers, a pair of black SWAT shoes and a black jacket came into the room. The man's name was also holding a set of sheets before handing them to the son, Uberto.
"What about your report, Marco?" Uberto asked.
"I found Alma Roxanne. She was married to a man named Matt Grady. And both are dead as we speak. In a car accident." Marco replied.
Both Mortem men smirked evilly and laughed equally devilishly, knowing they could finally get their hands on Alma's daughter, who happened to be none other than Valentina. But little did the two of them know they would have to face Ava and her father.
