Phoenix

Ranma, trapped in his feminine form, leaves the Tendo Dojo in search of a "normal" life. After spending a few months homeless in Tokyo, Ranma ends up getting a job in a bar run by a found family consisting of the owner & four hard-luck girls. At the Phoenix, Ranma finds a place where she can be accepted and "normal," learns to heal from past trauma and pursues a career as a singer.

102. Note from the Author: Phoenix Ascendant

Hello, dear reader. Thanks for following along with Ranko and her family as she has learned to RISE!

Here begins the start of a new series, Phoenix Ascendant. Ascendant begins 6 months after the end of Book IV, in September of 1990, and is intended as a true "sequel" to the Phoenix story found in books I - IV.

You'll notice that some big changes have happened in the lives of Ranko and her loved ones since last we left our heroines. Ranko and Akane have their own apartment, as both resume their academic careers. Ranko's pursuit of music takes a huge leap forward, and Ranko and Akane further cement their relationship. But a secret Akane insists on keeping threatens to tear them apart. Can Ranko's newest original song put the pair on the road back to bliss?

As with any new story, exposition will come as to everything that's happened these last few months over the first ten or so chapters. I opted not to do a big "here's what you missed;" it'll come out when it's supposed to. If something seems a little off, there's probably a reason for it that you haven't seen just yet. I beg patience!

It's weird the way FFN has us structure these things, and I'm not sure if I'm done it the way I'm supposed to, but this was the best way I could find to "split up" the series while ensuring that people following it get notified, etc. If there's a better way, please let me know in PM!
