These are but tiny 100-word snippets of their lives, told one a day, every day, in 2023. Newest chapter: Beru Asui is happy at home with her family of five. But the norm is about to be shaken up.

238. Hari Kurono (Chronostasis)

A.N. — Today's character is a member of the Shie Hassaikai with an absolutely fascinating quirk. I'd rather him have been the main villain of the arc versus Chisaki, whose aversion of the unclean seemed overdone. This guy, though, seems to fit the bill of a ruthless underworld denizen better.

238. Hari Kurono/Chronostasis

Hari Kurono wasn't very fast, so he had to rely on his wiles to make people slow. But once he successfully struck, he could harry his quarry at his leisure. Chronostasis lived for those slow, torturous seconds of inflicting agony on the unsuspecting. The schadenfreude at getting the drop on opponents who he knew outclassed his physical skills got his cold heart pumping harder.

As a yakuza boss' right-hand man, Chronostatis got to indulge in his cruelties often. Yet it never sated his need for more. Hari could slow time for other, but it always rushed by for him.
