Time Travel Hassles

"You're from the future?" Kara asked the alien now standing in front of her and Revan, introducing himself as Brainiac V.

"That is correct." The pale faced alien replied. "I apologize to inconvenience you, dealing with time travellers from the future can't be easy, I'd imagine."

"We're going to need a little more than that to go on." Revan said.

"What would you like to know?" Brainiac V asked.

"Let's start with your time period." Revan stated.

"31st century." The pale alien replied.

"Is that some sort of uniform you're wearing?" Revan continued.

"Yes. I'm a member of the Legion of Superheroes, a group of super powered individuals from the 31st century, you see." Brainiac V quickly replied. "Like yourselves, we dedicate our lives to saving others. Of course, it's not a uniform in the truest sense, since everyone's is mostly personalized by themselves, but I had mine made as such."

"Legion of Superheroes? Really?" Winn snorted.

"Focus, Winn." Alex chided over comms. "Kara, Rev we're almost there."

"Why were you time travelling in the first place?" Kara asked.

"I'm afraid I can't disclose information that can potentially alter the timeline in any capacity." Brainiac V replied.

"Convenient." Revan shrugged, as the squad from DEO entered the bridge.

"Comet." J'onn spoke, leading the agents.

"The Martian Manhunter. Greetings." Brainiac V greeted with a nod.

"I'd say let's take this guy to HQ while we cordon the area surrounding the ship off." Revan said.

"Acceptable." Brainiac V agreed.

.

.

Kara stared at the pale, lanky alien sitting in the cell albeit lacking restraints of any kind, thanks to him being cooperative and compliant. Revan was still at the time ship, looking over the tech, trying to learn things. J'onn was busy conducting the condoning process, so Kara had flown him back beforehand. Beside her stood Alex, completing screening their new visitor.

"Okay, so he's Coluan. A race that's usually associated with higher intelligence." Alex said. "Their lowest average intelligent people are about as smart as the smartest 1% of humans."

"Sheesh. So, he say anything? What's his story?" Kara asked.

"He said it's best for every one of us to be here. Including the Comet." Alex said with a sigh.

A gust of wind and flash of light accompanied Revan's voice. "Heard my name."

Kara turned around with a smile and threw her arms around him in a hug. "Hi."

"Hi." He hugged Kara back, before looking up to Alex. "Let's go talk to our Coluan."

"Indeed." J'onn said from behind Revan. The team walked up to Brainiac V's cell.

"You realize the cell is completely unnecessary?" Brainiac V said.

"Precautions. I'm not very trusting, and neither is the good director." Revan spoke, nodding towards J'onn. "Although I do apologize, and the sooner we have enough information the sooner you can get out of here."

"Thank you. Onto important matters, you are here to inquire to my presence here?" the pale alien asked.

"Yes we are." Alex answered.

"Well it is an accident, as I said. We were actually going to a period millions of years before now, for purposes I cannot reveal, you understand. But our ship had some technical malfunctions, and thus we ended up stranded. We have been stuck for quite a while, until recently the ship's Time Drive activated and it jumped again, this time to here. Other Legion members are also on board, in suspended animation."

"Yeah, I saw the pods. Cryosleep?" Revan asked.

"Of sorts, yes, the plan was, if I could not fix the ship, we would simply wait out the millenia until it was our time again. I had succeeded in hiding the ship such that it would not be found unless it was specifically searched for. But the Time Drive malfunctioned again, and we jumped from that secure location and time, ending up here and now."

"I see. So, if we fix your Time Ship, you guys can just go home?" Kara asked.

"Well, if you possess the knowhow and the resources to, we most definitely would return immediately." Brainiac said.

"Myself and some people from another dimension can help." Revan spoke. "We'll get you guys home, Brainiac V"

"Much appreciated." Brainiac V said. "Do you think I could be let out of this cell now?"

"Yes. Sorry about that again." Revan said. "And frankly we could use your direction in fixing your ship."

"I reckoned as much. I shall assist you in repairing our time ship, although I may not be able to undisclose too much knowledge of future technology, you understand." Brainiac V said.

"Of course." J'onn spoke, before briskly walking off. "Follow us to the ship, Brainiac V."

"Brainiac V. That's long." Alex said. "We have to say that everytime we address him?" she asked Kara.

"Maybe we could nickname him?" Kara replied. Revan simply chuckled as they made their way to the time ship.

.

.

.

.

"Looks like the core is badly damaged." Revan said.

"It is. I know how to repair it, but the parts are a bit difficult to obtain in this era." Brainiac V said.

"Of course it is. What would we need?" J'onn asked, turning to see the pale alien already working on the laptop.

"Here's a list of items that will allow me to repair this core." He said, turning to screen for the team to see.

"Oh boy." Revan said. "This will take a while."

"Well patience is of no consequence to me." Brainiac shrugged.

The team looked at each other and their looks said it all.

This'll be an interesting week.

.

.

"I can make the Quark matter in-house, no problem. But the collider component of the engine…" Revan trailed off.

"Okay, first off, how? Second, yeah how do we make a collider that small?" Winn asked.

The team was walking through DEO HQ, back from their trip to the time ship with Brainiac V.

"I suppose it is a tough thing to simply build in this day and age. Even the machinist components required for it are way more precise than what's available now." Brainiac V answered.

"Do either of you know what they're talking about?" Kara asked, looking between Alex and J'onn.

"No." J'onn curtly answered.

"You think?" Alex shrugged.

"Just confirming." Kara said. "Let's leave the nerds to figure this out, I'm gonna get some snacks."

"Bring me something?" Revan asked.

"Of course, love" Kara replied, flashing him a grin as she flew off.

"I love you!" Revan yelled behind her, as he got back to work. "Okay. So for the Quark Matter…"

.

.

Kara got back with a load of food from Big Belly Burger, to find Revan, Winn and Brainiac V hard at work.

"So Brainy, I think I know how to get the parts for the collider, but I will need to confer with some friends from another world." Winn said.

"Multiversal support, yes I suppose that is indeed favorable." The pale alien replied.

"Brainy?" Kara asked she walked to Revan with the food, focusing on the laptop screen in front of him, full of calculations bound to give her a headache.

"Kara!" Revan immediately looked up with a smile.

"Hey Rev" she dipped down to lightly kiss him, before handing him the food.

"Yeah, it gets tiresome to call him Brainiac V everytime, doesn't it?" Winn said. "And he won't respond to just Brainiac because apparently the first Brainiac was an evil hoarder and despot responsible for a lot of death and destruction."

"Good to know. Brainy it is then." Kara said.

"Honestly, yeah, I'll need Cisco and Wells' fabrication tech to make the collider. Sorry, Winn, but they're just more advanced. I can make the collider, but I need the right tools." Revan said, having scarfed down two burgers already at super speed.

"Very well. In the meantime, I shall synthesize the other components necessary. The tools here are adequate for those." Brainy said.

"Sounds like a plan." Revan said. "We'll be off then." He then extended a hand to Kara. "Shall we, love?"

Kara blushed and grinned. "Stop it. Let's go." She took his hand nevertheless still grinning. Revan smirked, before picking her up and speeding off.

.

.

.

.

Revan emerged from the breach, still carrying Kara, noticing Cisco suddenly jump as he stopped in front of him in the STAR labs cortex.

"Hey, it's the Comet! And my favourite Kryptonian!" he immediately broke out into a grin.

"Hey Cisco." Revan said, bumping fists with him.

"Where are the others?" Kara asked.

"Well, Harry had to go back to Earth 2 for a couple of days. Barry and Caitlin are out on an investigation." Cisco answered.

"What kind?" Revan asked "You guys need help?"

"Don't think so, it's Barry's day job. CSI stuff. But tell me why you're here." Cisco asked, drinking from his orange slurpy. "Not that I'm not happy to see you guys…"

"We needed to use your fabricator." Revan said.

"Oh go ahead, left, second room on the right." Cisco said, pointing out of the cortex, into the hallway.

"Alright thanks, be right back." Revan said super fast before speeding out of the cortex. Kara stood there, walking up to Cisco. "Got any more of that?"

"Last one." Cisco said. Kara groaned before rushing out to get some food.

Big Belly Burger wasn't hard to find. Kara's super senses were no joke. However, more than Big Belly Burger, something else caught Kara's attention. She could hear Barry and Caitlin laughing, coming from the direction of the CCPD Precinct. Kara smiled to herself, deciding to leave it alone and get some food.

Maybe she'd hear about this later, from themselves.

.

.

.

.

Kara flew back to STAR labs with food, only to find Revan in the Cortex hanging out with Cisco.

"Hey Rev. You done?" She asked as she went to him.

"Kara!" his face lit up, like always, and he bumped shoulders with her as she sat down beside him. "No the fabrication is automated. The component is forming, but it'll need time. We'll be here a while."

"My guy, are you building a time machine?" Cisco asked, looking at the screen. This is a tachyon collider."

"Close. Core of a time ship. One got stuck in our time and we're trying to send it back." Revan explained, while Kara handed him a burger.

"Huh. Thought so." Cisco said. "And y'all don't have a fabricator like ours?"

"No, Cisco, and you don't have to rub in the fact that your Earth is more advanced than mine." Kara chuckled.

"No I didn't mean it like that." Cisco said, both him and Revan joining in laughing. "No I meant… you could just take the schematics for this thing, build one for yourself."

"Huh… that'd be cool. If it wasn't something not yet invented in that Earth's timeline." Revan said, smirking at Cisco.

"Right. Sorry." Cisco said, sinking in his chair with eyes wide, looking back and forth between Kara and Revan.

"Do I hear someone familiar?" Caitlin's voice rung out as she rounded around the corner and entered the Cortex, Barry right beside her.

"Cait! Hey." Revan immediately got up and hugged his sister in all but blood, before offering one to Barry.

"Hey bud." Barry said as he took it.

"Hey guys." Kara said from her seat. "I'd hug you to but there's cheese on my hands."

"Understandable." Caitlin chuckled. "What are you guys doing here?"

"Needed your fabricator for a thing." Revan quickly explained.

"Right. And when were you gonna tell us about that?" Caitlin said, pointing at the ring on Kara's finger. The straw slipped out of Cisco's mouth, and Barry smiled wide as a mile. Kara's eyes went wide however. "I can explain-"

"Y'all got engaged and you didn't tell us?!" Cisco yelled.

"It's not like that!" Revan tried. "It's only been a couple weeks, we haven't thought of anything, and it's been hectic, and now we have time travellers accidentally stuck in our present and… honestly we would have told you guys soon, it just slipped our mind for a second."

"I'll let it slide for now, Mr. Snow, but you both are in for trouble." Caitlin smirked, Barry simply chuckling beside her.

"We're sorry, Cait." Kara said, making her best puppy eyes.

"Fine. You're not fully forgiven, yet, but tell me everything!" Caitlin said, her excitement leaking into her words towards the end of the sentence.

"Congratulations, guys." Barry said, smiling widely as he pulled the both of them into a hug again. Never mind any cheesy hands.

.

.

After several hours of hanging out, exchanging stories (Caitlin and Barry were still tight lipped) the fabrication process was complete, and it was time to go home.

"See you guys!" Kara said, waving as the portal opened.

"We expect invitations!" Barry exclaimed.

"We expect news from you too!" Revan said, smirking and winking at Caitlin, who blushed for a second, before the two hopped into the portal.

.

.

.

.

The moment Kara and Revan stepped out of the breach, they heard emergency sirens.

"What's going on?" Revan asked over comms.

"Multiple systems are failing on the time ship. Brainy is trying to fix them but Brainy said the ship might blow up!" Winn's voice crackled through the earpiece.

"Let's go." Kara said, and they immediately went to the ship.

Once there, they saw Brainy working on a panel of wiring.

"You're here. One of the coolant tubings of the power source ruptured. I fixed it, but it was too late. The system is too hot and the malfunctioning power source can't power the system enough, which means the cooling system can't work fast enough!" Brainy said, panting.

"What if I poured energy directly into the wiring?" Revan asked.

"Even a millijoule's worth of inconsistency and it would rupture." Brainy said.

"Then what do we do?" Kara asked.

"I'm going to redirect as much power as I can towards the cooling. Supergirl, I'd appreciate it you used your freeze breath on the source. It's there." Brainy said, pointing.

"On it." Kara said, and immediately blew out freezing winds on the area the power source was housed in. Brainy was working away, first on the wiring, then he dashed to the console and typed commands away. After a few minutes, the alarm stopped. It seemed the emergency had been averted.

Brainy sighed. "That could have been… very bad."

"Indeed it could have." Revan said. "Are we okay now?"

"I believe s-" just as Brainy was about to speak, another siren went off somewhere else in the ship.

"Oh what now?" Kara asked, throwing her hands in the air.

"Oh no." Brainy said, looking worried, and started running out of the bridge. "No no." Kara and Revan followed him to the pod chamber.

"What? What's wrong?" Kara asked.

"One of the pods powering system is failing. I have to pull them out or they will die." Brainy said. He immediately typed some commands into the main console and ran to one of the pods.

Revan could see liquid draining inside the murky glass of the pod. "Suspended animation. Not cryosleep. Huh."

"Yes." Brainy said, and pressed a button as the liquid drained completely, and the pod opened. A woman, seemingly human, with dark hair stepped out of the pod.

"Imra." Brainy said, to the woman named Imra. "Breathe. You're out of the pod. Breathe."

Imra coughed for a bit, before taking a few deep breaths to even out her breathing. "Thanks, Brainy."

"Oh you guys call him Brainy too." Kara said.

Imra now looked up at the two present, standing in front of them.

"You're Kara." She breathed.

Both Kara and Revan were surprised. "You know Kara?" Revan asked.

"Of course." Imra said, taking a few more breaths before standing up. "Mon-El talks about you all the time."

Kara's eyes were wide as saucers. "What did you just say?"

!-!-!-!-!

First off, I am incredibly sorry I took so long to update. First I was sick, then my family and I decided to move into a new place, then faced some legal issues, then started moving after resolving said issues. Bottom line is… I died. Yep. I died and resurrected recently, since DC likes to resurrect people so much, but yeah. I will upload more often now.

As always, which isn't much now, sorry again, if you liked this chapter, and/or have constructive criticism or suggestions, please let me know in a review.

I'll see you guys in the next one. Peace!
