The time after deaths of both All Might and All for One was quiet at first as both regular society and the underworld both tried to figure out what it meant for them. The loss of both the Symbol of Peace and the Symbol of Evil left a power vacuum that people on both sides of the law were trying to prepare themselves to fill. At first everyone thought that most of the trouble would just be in Japan since All for One had been based there but the rest of the world was all similarly rocked to its core when criminals around the world suddenly rose up to make trouble. What was later learned was All for One had been the Demon lord of the world's criminals, not just Japan's criminals. Suddenly terrorist groups, crime lords, warlords, villains and other unsavory people were able to operate with impunity since the man they all feared and had controlled them was no longer there to stop them from doing what they wanted instead of having to follow All for One's orders.
Luckily for most of the world Heros were on the ball to quell the upheaval around the world. Of course there were fierce battles as a new equilibrium was established. Though not everything was smooth sailing. There was a general feeling of the world had moved one steo closer to the tipping point and everyone was waiting to see which way it would go.
However in Japan not only did the underworld surge forth to try to fill the void One for All left, it also had to deal with its Heros suddenly being overwhelmed since the presence of All Might had been a deterrent to most of the criminals and Villains for so long that they were unprepared to do their job effectively as they should of been. It might have just been a black spot in history of Japan if a major scandal didn't also rock the hero industry so soon after All Might's death. One involving the number two hero.
April O'Neal thought to herself that she would have to thank the Turtle Brothers for all their training when she got back to New York. If they hadn't pushed her so hard in their dojo when she wanted to learn to defend herself after getting mugged she never would have made it over the wall of Endeavor's estate. As she crouched next to the wall she held her hand up to release one of the camera drones her quirk allowed her produce. She quickly checked to make sure the drone was streaming to her computer as she started to carefully make her way towards the house. As she moved she thanked her lucky stars that the news outlet she worked for had paid for her to come to Japan to cover All Might's memorial and she could use the trip to try to be the first to get an exclusive with Japan's next number one Hero.
She soon was standing at the entrance to the Todoroki home, her hand raised to knock, when she heard the unmistakable sound of flesh striking flesh followed by the roaring of flames coming from around the side of the house. Thinking some villain was stupid enough to attack Endeavor at his home she produced two more drones, her limit being three, quickly preparing them to stream with her other drone and sent them off to get different angles of the fight as she rounded the corner ready to provide commentary on the fight. What she wasn't prepared for was to see Endeavor punching a young red and white haired child full strength in the stomach, causing the child to retch and throw up bile through a hole burned in the side of what looked like a dojo. Laying on the grass below the burned out hole was a red headed teen who was smoking and looked burned terribly as he struggled to rise to his feet. April swiftly hid herself back around the corner of the house as she directed her camera drones to spread out to make sure she was covering this from all angles.
A scowling Endeavor steps over the puking child as he looks out of the hole he created by launching his oldest son through a wall, looking down at the injured teen as he started yelling. "What are you doing Touya? Get your ass up off the ground so training can continue. Our family will soon be at the forefront of keeping the criminal scum from taking over. How do you expect overcome your weakness if you can't take a blast from me, huh? The scum won't care if you are hurt, you need to learn to fight through the pain. NOW GET YOUR ASS OFF THE GROUND AND SPAR WITH YOUR BROTHER! MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU WON"T HOLD BACK WHEN I TELL YOU TO HIT YOUR BROTHER LIKE YOU MEAN IT!"
The teen slowly raised his arm to flip off Endeavor as he gasped out, "Fuck you! I am not going to hit my eight year old brother full on like he's my size. You can beat me all you want and call it training. Lord knows I'm use to it but I refuse to allow you to beat Shoto like that. I thought since you finally got the perfect quirk you wanted in Shoto, that you've been trying to get off of Mom since day one after you bought her off her family like a broodmare for your breeding program, you'd be careful with him as your greatest creation. But no you beat him just like you do with me and call it training. Abuse is more like it. I don't know which is worse, being thrashed by you in this so called training or being ignored and neglected like Fuyumi and Natsuo are just because they inherited Mom's quirk and therefore aren't of any use to you. Fuyumi cries herself to sleep at night because she wants to be a hero to make you proud but you decided she was useless since she has ice and not fire, so you won't train her or get her training. But lets not forget Mom. We all know why she has to wear long sleeves and turtle neck shirts even in the warm weather. We all know you smack her around like the brute you are. Oh are you mad? Angry? Too bad asshole." The teen drug himself to his feet to April's disbelief as he spewed out Endeavor's crimes against his family.
An enraged Endeavor stomped through the opening in the wall as he stalked towards the swaying teen. He snatched the front of the teen's shirt as he raised a flaming fist and started to hammer it into the already injured teen. The wet thud of a fist hitting already damaged flesh mixed with the sizzle and smell of burning flesh as Endeavor savagely beat his son. Even when the two toned boy tried to stop him with a blast of ice even as the child continued to retch up bile and blood, Endeavor just continued to pound his fist into the face and body of the teen.
Just when April thought she was going to be witness to the murder of one of Endeavor's children by Endeavor himself suddenly the man's flames died as he was kicked in the face by a short older man in a white body suit with yellow boots and gloves. After getting knocked on his ass Endeavor's rage exploded out of him as he surged to his feet to attack his attacker only to get a boot to the face again causing him to stumble which opened him up to be struck from multiple angles as the older hero bounced off him from various angles. Suddenly the older hero landed on the roof of the dojo as Endeavor huffed while standing on the ground, his beaten teen son barely breathing a few feet from him. Looking up to scream at the older hero he got out, "I will destroy yo-" before he coughed on a pink gas that promptly caused him pass out after inhaling it. Endeavor's large body slams into the ground as April finally realized she could hear other people behind her as her hyper focus broke. She turned to see a cursing dark haired kneeling man as he complained about holding his eyes open with his fingers for so long being like having sandpaper rubbed on them as they dried out. He was switching a bottle of eye drops back and forth as he applied them to his eyes. Walking back towards him from the direction of the fight that had happened was a tall dark haired woman wearing what looked like a form fitting body suit with a hole ripped in it, that even as April watched seemed to be repairing itself as she glided forward. Suddenly the sound of sirens filled the air as the front gate of the estate was battered in by a SWAT vehicle as police streamed in. The SWAT vehicle slid to a stop a short distance from April as officers flew out of the back to converge on Endeavor as they strapped quirk suppressor cuffs on to him and started to haul him off the ground to transport him away. Meanwhile paramedics rushed to stabilize the teen before they got him on a gurney to transport him to a hospital while another set of paramedics checked over the child in the dojo before he too was transported to the hospital.
April was startled when with a whoosh of air the short older hero was standing next to her suddenly. "Excuse me Miss, but I need you to come with me. We need to find out how you came upon what was happening here and why you broadcasted it live to, well the world."
April just nodded as she called her drones to her to be absored back into her body and followed the hero towards a patrol car where a detective helped her to sit in the car. As she sat there she saw other officers escorting a white haired woman who looked around like she was expecting an attack at any moment along with a white haired girl and boy to another vehicle before the detective slid into the car and told her they were headed to the station to get statements. As they got ready to leave April asked the detective to pull around the block to grab her laptop since that was what her drones connected to and used to broadcast their streaming and it also recorded all the footage so it could be edited if needed for a future projects or broadcast.
An hour later April was sitting in an interrogation room with a cup of terrible coffee as she waited for a detective to come in for her statement. By this time she'd had some time to process the fact she had upon stumbled one of the biggest stories ever and was wondering if she would be able to convince her news outlet to let her stay to continue covering it. These thoughts were interrupted by the opening of the door as the detective that had drove her to the station walked in and sat down.
"Sorry for making you wait but Endeavor woke up and started to overwhelm the supressor cuffs, so we had to hose him down with fire hoses until Eraserhead could get here to cancel his quirk so we could sedate him again. I'm Detective Tsukauchi and I will be taking your statement. If you don't mind I think it would be best if I had you recount everything from your perspective and I will ask if I need to clarify anything, OK?" Tsukauchi explained as he set down a writing pad and motioned for April to proceed with the story.
April took a deep breath before she started her story with how her news outlet had sent her to Japan to cover the All Might memorial and how she had thought she could sneak in an exclusive interview with Endeavor as the soon to be new Number One Hero and so she decided to sneak onto the Todoroki estate to get a candid interview with the man. She then went on to explain how she had at first thought she had stumbled upon some stupid villain attacking Endeavor at his home and not what she had actually found. She told him how she just hidden and could only watch the scene unfold in front of her. She also mentioned how she was glad Endeavor had been stopped when he had been because she was sure she was going to witness the murder of the red headed teen. After her explanation Tsukauchi asked why she hadn't called the police when she had saw what was happening to which April admitted to having left her phone in her car and the brutality of the event had frozen her as she tried to process what she had watched. Tsukauchi nodded, thanked her for her cooperation and told her they would be in touch if they need to talk to her again. He escorted her to the front desk where her laptop was returned to her after the computer techs had copied the recordings of her broadcast. April thanked them and left the station even as she called her producer to figure out what they were going to do.
After the foreign reporter left, Tsukauchi sighed as he turned to walk to another large interrogation room. He took a deep breath before opening the door to see that the Pro Heros Midnight, Eraserhead and Gran Torino had been joined by Present Mic since his radio show had ended by this time. They were all looking at the other two occupants of the room, a thin light blue haired teen and a man shaped cloud of dark purple mist. The teen was just sitting in a chair ignoring everyone as he played a handheld gaming device. The mist man was standing next to him as he stared at everyone on the other side of the room. When Tsukauchi enters the room the stare down between the adults is broken and with it a unknown tension.
The first to speak is Eraserhead as he rubbed his eyes which were still irritated from earlier, "Now that sack of shit Endeavor has been taken care, to which I give thanks to Kurogiri for assisting us with that mess, maybe we can find out why a person claiming to have been affiliated with One for All has asked to meet with three Pro Heros and one retired Pro Hero."
Kurogiri nods his head in acknowledgment to Eraserhead's gratitude before he answers the pro. "I am Kurogiri as you know when I introduced myself before that unfortunate incident from before happened. Treating a child under your care like that monster did is reprehensible. I was more then glad to deliver you there in time to subdue him and to save the young man he had been beating. As to why I asked to meet with the people I have, I need to introduce my charge Tomura Shigaraki, whom until his death, All for One had been grooming to be his successor. But his real name is Tenko Shimura, the grandson of Nana Shimura." As soon as Kurogiri said that Gran Torino stood at attention and took an abortive step forward. Kurogiri waved a hand to stop him as he continued, "All for One took him in mainly to use as a future psychological weapon against All Might. Since All for One's demise certain mental commands have faded and we find ourselves in the awkward position of being the ones certain people in the criminal underworld are looking towards for leadership or to eliminate to take over. My only concern is the safety of my charge, not running of an criminal enterprise. Having said that the reason I asked to meet with the four of you and Detective Tsukauchi is so he can verify everything I say is true when I revel what I have to say next." Tsukauchi then told them that everything Kurogiri had said so far was true when they turned to him to verify the validity of Kurogiri's words.
Kurogiri then started pace as though what he had to say next was upsetting to him. "As I said when All for One died certain commands were released on both Tomura and myself. In addition to not pushing us towards more sinister pursuits and total loyalty towards All for One anymore, in my case it also let me unlock memories. You see I'm a type of experiment called a Nomu created by a Dr. Kyudai Garaki to be a caretaker and future lieutenant to Tomura. I was created from a deceased body and the combination of that body's quirk with teleportation and mapping quirks that were implanted and combined to make my Warp Gate quirk. The body that was used to make me was of Oboro Shirakumo, your friend from UA. Please understand that while I have his body and some memories, I am now a different person to who he was, while the memories I have of his are more like movies then real to me. I can see them but there is no emotional connection to them. But I also felt that you deserved to know what happened to your friend. I am hoping that in exchange for information and the chance of revenge againist the doctor that desecrated your friend's remains I could bargain for protection at UA since you are teachers there."
Both Eraserhead and Present Mic's heads snapped to Tsukauchi when Kurogiri revealed his origins. The detective confirmed that the warp gate user was telling the truth causing the men's legs to give out as the news hit them extremely hard. Luckily Midnight slid chairs under them so they didn't fall apart on the floor. Everyone watched as the two men teared up and trembled until like a switch being flipped inside of them they looked up with determination in their eyes. Eraserhead spoke with steel in his voice, "You bring us to the man that did that and I will see to it that you are able to live whatever life you want. When do we start?"
