In the wake of Endeavor's arrest the news of an associate of All for One being discovered and arrested was barely a blip in the news cycle. Though it was of more interest to the Midoriya family when Inko realized the man arrested was the same doctor that diagnosed Izuku as quirkless four years ago under a different name then was reported in the paper. After reading about some of the things that were reported to be done by the so-called doctor, Inko was glad that Izuku hadn't caught the doctor's interest. She was quite relieved that the doctor had been immediately sent to Tartarus as to never see the light of day again. The other part of the article that amused her to no end was that the HPSC seemed to be angry with the heros that had arrested the doctor since they had completely destroyed the lab and records after the man's arrest. The HPSC seemed to have wanted to review the doctor's research to learn if there was any 'useable' data to which they were basically told "Tough Shit" as several Heros and UA teachers after seeing the experiments being done by the doctor had made sure that nothing was recoverable and had gotten Cementoss to fill the entire facility with cement after everything was destroyed by a combination of Present Mic's screaming and Snipe's use of explosive ammo.
Inko set the paper to the side with a small smile before a more serious expression settled on her face as she focused on the file in front of her on her desk. It contained the preliminary information for her representation of Rei Himura, formally Todoroki, and her children against Endeavor. Inko had been shocked to discover that the wife of Endeavor had been the same Rei she knew when she watched the arrest of Endeavor since the woman had been a close friend of her and Mitsuki in high school. All they had been told all those years ago when they graduated was that Rei had been called home by her family and they never seen or heard from her again, not knowing where she was, until they saw her on the footage being escorted out the house by the police after the arrest.
Anyone that knew Inko and Mitsuki wouldn't have been surprised that the two women quickly appeared at the hospital that the Todoroki family had been taken to after recognizing their friend. Inko let no one stand her way to reach Rei and her family, which was made all the more easier in that hospital since the administration knew her to be someone not to mess with since she had ruined the former hospital director when he had tried to refuse treatment to Izuku due to him being quirkless and Inko had went on to expose him being corrupt and part of a organ harvesting operation.
When the two women arrived at the room the Todoroki family was in it was to find Rei and her two middle children sitting around the two beds of the oldest and youngest boys looking lost in thought as they were all still processing the fact they were no longer under the tyrannical thumb of Endeavor.
As the door to the room closed behind the two women Rei looked up and gave them a bewildered expression. "Inko? Mitsuki? How are you here? Are you back to visit? I mean I'm glad you are here but why are you here now after all the times I tried reach out to you through letters."
Inko and Mitsuki exchanged confused looks before Inko asked, "Rei where do you think we have been? We both live here in Musutafu. We both have wondered where you disappeared to after school was over. We were both told by your family when we tried to contact you that you had left the country to further your education. Is that where you met Endeavor?"
Rei's face was aghast as she stared at her old friends. "They told you I left the country to go to college? Those ASSHOLES! No I didn't leave to study. My 'family' sold me off to Enji Todoroki for a quirk marriage so he could try to blend our quirks to try to make his perfect weapon to beat All Might. Every time I tried to rebel and treat my children like children he would assault me. When Touya's quirk came in he almost seemed to turn into an actual normal person and I thought maybe life would get better. Until he discovered that Touya also inherited the body of a ice quirk user like me and couldn't withstand his own flames. He was so furious. I thought he was going to beat me to death at that time. But he kept his strikes to my extremities. Never in the center of the body. Couldn't take the chance to damage his broodmare could he? When Fuyumi and Natsuo where both born with ice quirks he dismissed them as obsolete since they didn't possess a fire quirk like he wanted. Then Shoto was born with a equal blend of both our quirks. As soon as he showed that he had that, Enji took Shoto to train and I hardly ever saw him after his fourth birthday. He tried to toss Touya to the side when he had his perfect creation but Touya stubbornly stayed so he could try to protect his youngest brother. I would treat their wounds as best as I could after their training but they were always dragged back to training no matter what in the morning." Rei ranted as her eyes lost focus as she got lost in her memories and anger.
Meanwhile Inko was restraining Mitsuki from interrupting Rei as she pulled a recorder out of her bag and started documenting everything Rei said. She also messaged her office to fax her paperwork to take on Rei and her children as clients. She was already planning how she would decimate Rei's family for forcing her into a quirk marriage and taking payment for it. She also planned to eviscerate Enji Todoroki. But first thing she had them draft was motion to grant Rei a emergency divorce order to be approved by the courts to get her away from her abuser in the form of Endeavor.
"Rei, I'm sorry you went through all that and we weren't there to help. I'd like to help you now if you will let me. I'm a lawyer and I'd like to take you and your children on as clients to protect you from anything Endeavor would try to do to you and to help you reduce any blowback on you and your children that could happen from him being arrested. You can think about it but one of the first things I would want to do for you is initiate a divorce through the courts so you don't have to be tied to that man anymore. It would have to be approved by a judge so you wouldn't have to deal with Endeavor at all. Also by making me your lawyer all your testimony for you and your children would have to go through me and I can arrange it so none of you would have to face him in court. Here I have the paperwork pulled up on this tablet if you want to look over it before you decide." Inko told Rei once the woman came back to the present. Rei took the tablet and started to skim the document. She had only made it a few lines in before the door to the hospital room opened and a man in a sharp suit stepped inside.
"Excuse me but I'm going to need you to vacate the room. I'm the Todoroki family lawyer, Sako Suraimu, and I need to talk with the family as to what they can talk about in reference to the situation that has occurred." the man said as he exuded a smarmy attitude. "I have some paperwork that needs to be signed by each family member as to what they can and can't say about this unfortunate situation. All information will need to go through me so that the Todoroki name is not diminished by these unfortunate events."
Rei stared at the man as he spoke and processed what he was saying. She had only seen this man once before when he had witnessed her marriage to Enji. The man had known from the start that she had been sold into her marriage and had just let it happen even as he collected the paperwork and left her with her 'husband'. She glanced at the paperwork he was trying to hand her and noticed that seemed to basically be a gag order and a NDA of some kind. She realized that Endeavor was trying to stop her or the children from being able to speak about their lives and get away with beating all of them in their home life. She looked down at the tablet in her hands and quickly scrolled down to the end. She signed the contract and silently handed it to Inko. Inko looked at the screen and grinned as she signed her name on the screen and sent it to her office to be filed. Just before she spoke she got a notification from her office that the emergency divorce had already been pushed through and approved by a judge. Inko showed it to Rei as the lawyer started to get impatient. Inko pointed to where Rei needed to sign, which she quickly did, and sent the document back to the court to make it official.
"I'm sorry Mr Suraimu, but Mrs Himura or her children will not be signing anything. As her lawyer all legal paperwork will need to go through me. Please contact my offices and make an appointment." Inko said as she produced a card and handed it to the man. As soon as the man read Inko's name his face paled and he took a step back. He quickly excused himself and left. Unknown to him Mitsuki had slipped out the door behind him after he entered and heard the man making a call as he left. She heard him talking to someone who seemed to be very vocally upset that things hadn't gone how they wanted.
Mitsuki then reentered the hospital room and said with a smirk, "Well that was certainly different to be the one fading into the background to spy on someone we pissed off. Back in high school it was usually Inko doing that since I was the one usually pissing people off with my loud personality and Rei would cut them off at the knees with her ice queen routine. Nice little Inko would then quietly collect any info to use against them. Though back then it was usually just bitchy rich girls that thought they were hot shit. But enough reminiscing. Whoever sent that shitstain definitely was not happy you didn't sign those papers. But surprisingly it wasn't Endeavor on the other end of that call. Trust me I've heard that douchebag's voice enough on TV to recognize it. Whoever it was sounded more like someone trying to cover their ass because this situation was blowing up in their face."
"Probably his HPSC handler. As close as those assholes hover around heros there isn't anyway that cum stain didn't know about our home situation and didn't do anything about because it would ruin their image of heroics to the public. That certainly blew up in their faces now huh?" Rei murmured, not realizing she was only feeding Inko's shark-like lawyer bloodlust as the woman's smile sharpened as another corrupt person or maybe organization was locked in her sights. But she pushed all that to the back of her mind to do what she and Mitsuki had originally came to do, help and comfort their recently rediscovered friend. They then proceeded to catch up with Rei and offer to be there for her and her children.
Izuku sat in the small room his mom had given him at her office after she had pulled him out of school after catching his teacher being mean to him. She had set up a computer for him and had signed him up with an online school. She then told him he could work as far ahead as he wanted to so he wouldn't be bored with his school work anymore. Izuku had excitedly set about tearing through his current grade level and the next few grades in several weeks. He was currently enrolled in the second year course of middle school. He was pleasantly surprised to be challenged while doing the assignments. He figured that at eight years old he probably shouldn't try to finish all his schooling now anyways, as it gave him something to look forward to do during the day. Another reason he liked the online school was once he was done with his course work for the day he could use the internet to search for hero videos to watch and analyze quirks. He was on his sixth notebook of quirk analysis now but he was starting to run out of quirks to watch. He wished he could find more quirks to analyze. If only people would let him analyze their quirks then he could help them use their quirks better.
As Izuku listlessly scrolled through info boards he randomly clicked on a chat room that boasted about talking about heros. As he watched the other people in the chat room discuss the heros they had seen, he saw that they were talking about how the heros were using the their quirks and how cool it was to watch them use them. As they talked he started to get frustrated at how many people were getting wrong how some quirks worked or they observed a hero using their quirk ineffectively just to play to a crowd. Not able to stand it any longer he made a screen name and started writing. At first he corrected people on how certain quirks worked and then worked on describing how a hero could have used their quirk better to fight or save someone. Most of the people in the room tried to shout him down but Izuku stuck to his guns and used his observations of hero fights and other facts to prove his point. After arguing with the room for a little while Izuku decided to sign off since it was becoming clear they weren't going to listen and were just going to stick to their opinions no matter what. Just before he clicked off the site he received a notification of a private message from a screen name of 'Splinter_078'. He opened the link to the message and read what was sent.
Splinter_078: Hey, so I was lurking in the chat and saw you arguing with everybody and... I agree with that some of the heros could use their quirks better. I also noticed you seemed to have some ideas on how to use quirks better and I was wondering if you could help me with mine?
Greenbean: Sure I would love to help. Analyzing quirks is hobby of mine. I like helping people with their quirks. So what is yours?
Splinter_078: so mine is called Rat. It is a family line quirk making us anthropomorphic rat people. We don't live well because most people don't trust complex mutants like us and especially since we look like rats. But I want to prove people wrong by doing something to help. My grandfather became a martial arts master and taught my uncles, (they are adopted and turtles but awesome). But I don't want to hurt people, want to help people. So how can I do that with just being a rat person?
Greenbean: Ok, questions. 1. Can you do everything a rat can do? Like chew through stuff? Squeeze through small openings by shifting your bones? If so then I think you could be an awesome rescue worker. Like a specialty rescuer who specialized in finding people in collapsed building or maybe landslides where openings are narrow and hard to get in. Or you could work with the police to say slip in between walls during a hostage situation and observe to relay information back to them. Really the skies the limit if you put your mind to it.
2. Is your grandfather Hamato Yoshi? If so your grandfather is a legend in martial arts and a great man. The way him and your uncles fought the Shredder and his Foot clan until they were able to bring them to justice was awesome. Too bad they never decided to become official Heros but I understand not wanting to be in the spotlight. Anyway that's besides the point.
Splinter_078: uh yeah he's my grandfather. How do you know about him? We live in New York. The only reason I'm even on this site was to practice my Japanese and it was about heros. I only messaged you on the off chance of a different opinion on my quirk and to again to practice my Japanese. Then you completely turn my world upside down by offering a perfect use of my quirk in a profession that will guarantee I will be able to help people. Then you also know about my grandfather and uncles. You must be one hell of a student of history or heroics. Are you a quirk counselor or perhaps teacher of some kind?
Greenbean: No I'm not a quirk counselor or a teacher. In fact I'm just eight years old and just taking a break from online school. But I'm glad I could help. As to knowing about your grandfather and uncles I admit I actually only know about them because All Might mentioned them in a in an interview once because he had seen them fighting the Foot once during a visit to New York and I looked them up to see what their quirks were. It just a coincidence I knew about them. Its been nice talking to you but I need to go. My mom is calling me. Bye.
Izuku logs off and shuts down the computer and scampers out of the room as his mom finishes locking her office and holds out her hand for him to take to go home. As they walk out he thinks to himself, "Quirk counselor? I bet I could help a lot of people if I was one of those."
Halfway around the world a sixteen year old Isamu Hamato stared at his computer as he processed the last message from Greenbean. "He's only eight years old? If he's this good at this age I wonder how much better he will become. Maybe I should introduce him to Uncle Donnie. He would appreciate having someone he could talk to on a similar level. But first I need to speak with Grandfather so I can tell about the advice Greenbean gave me. I bet he could even help me train for my new path." The young rat man stood up and left his room with a new purpose in his posture and steps.
