Hitoshi Shinso looked around the apartment he had been brought to about a month ago. He was still trying to not geek out he was there with his favorite hero but also apparently the man's husband and wife. His life had turned into a whirlwind in a hurry. First he was saved by a group of kids his age as he was being chased by an asshole of a hero, then helped by Eraserhead who cleaned his facial wounds and was cuddled by the man, only to be healed by the nice old lady at UA and then after that Eraserhead had announced he was adopting him! The boy was afraid he was dreaming and would wake up.
But he wasn't dreaming. With help from someone by the name of Nezu Eraserhead, Present Mic, and Ms Joke had quickly adopted him. He was now Hitoshi Aizawa but publicly he was still known as Hitoshi Shinso due to two of his new parents being underground heros. He could deal with that since he got to call them Dad, Papa, and Mama in private. So he thought his life was going pretty good right now.
He would have felt guilty about being so happy with being adopted by his favorite hero because it meant he was leaving his friend/sister Himiko behind in the orphanage but he learned she also got adopted. By a very nice but intense man by the name of Chizome Akaguro who understood her blood quirk and was helping her with it. He was glad she was getting the help she needed. He remembered how he use to sneak out of his room at the orphanage when he could to stick his arm through the slot of her door to give her blood so she wouldn't die since she needed the blood to survive.
Hitoshi was brought to the present as a pair of arms wrapped around him from the side. He looked up at his Papa as the man spoke. "Hey little listener. You doing ok?" Hizashi asked as he ran a hand through his new son's hair.
"I'm still trying to get my mind around I'm really here Papa. That you, Dad and Mama want me here. Everyone always told me I was a villain because of my quirk, even my birth parents said the same when they dropped me off at the orphanage. So why do you want someone with a villainous quirk like me. Am I just here so you can make sure I don't become a villain?" the boy asked with tears in his eyes.
Hizashi silently cursed the bastards who had mistreated his sweet boy, especially the boy's birth parents. "You are here because we fell in love with you as soon as we saw you. You don't have a villain quirk. There is no such thing as hero and villain quirks. Quirks are just powers. It's how a person uses them that determines whether they are a hero or a villain, not the quirk."
Hitoshi turned into Hizashi's chest as he cried, feeling the man hug him and stroke his back as he was pulled into his lap. He cried himself to sleep as he thanked his lucky stars that he was here and experiencing being loved for the first time in his life.
Himiko Toga stalked forward towards her new father's back ready to scare him. She leaped hard, only to be caught in the man's arms as he spun around.
"Aw phooey. I thought I had you this time." she said with a pout as the man hiked her up to hold her in one arm and patted her head.
"You are a natural sneak little cat but I have had a lot of training. Now how about breakfast and then we can see about going to see your friend?" Chizome told her as he walked into the kitchen and pulled out a blood bag which he handed her before also getting the cereal out of the cabinet.
Himiko quickly nodded before piercing the bag with her fangs and draining it. After throwing the bag away she climbed up to the table and started to eat her cereal. Chizome smiled at her fondly as he thought about how he never thought he would be a father but was enjoying it.
Later the two blood quirk users left their apartment and walked to the train station. They rode the train until they got to the stop near UA and walked to a building nearby. Chizome pushed the button near the door and waited for the door to unlock. Once it did he lead Himiko to the elevator and rode it to the top floor where they exited and knocked on the only door on the floor.
The door opened to Shota standing there in sweats and a rumpled shirt with Present Mic on it. The man didn't say anything and waved them in before closing the door after them. As they took off their shoes Shota walked over and flopped on the couch and was instantly made into a bed of as a one eyed black cat jumped on his back and settled down.
Himiko giggled at the man and bent down to pet the poofy grey cat that demanded petting at her feet. Once the cat deemed the petting enough it walked away and climbed up to lay on the back of the couch looking like a grey loaf. She looked for Hitoshi and found him in the kitchen with Emi as they made cookies. Well Emi was making cookies, Hitoshi was eating the dough.
Chizome followed his daughter as he looked around before he asked where Hizashi was. Emi told him her other husband was at his radio studio and would be back this afternoon. The man nodded and sat down at the table and was offered a cup of coffee which he gladly took. He watched his daughter climb on the same chair as her friend and steal some of the cookie dough. He hid a smile behind his mug as Emi scolded the children with a voice that had no force or heat behind it. He knew Emi made the dough out of ingredients that were safe to eat since he voiced a concern one of the first times they visited.
He visited with Emi for awhile before Shota joined them after grabbing a cup of coffee for himself. Once they were both there he indicated he wanted to talk to them and they sent the children off the go play in Hitoshi's room.
Once the children were gone Shota tuned to Chizome, "Ok what did you want to talk to us about?"
"Two things. Is Hitoshi still reluctant about his quirk? Still thinking of it as a villain quirk because of all the assholes telling him that?" Chizome asked.
Emi sighed. "Unfortunately yes. No matter how many times we explain it to him, he still thinks that way."
"Well maybe if he heard it from someone his own age it would have more impact." Chizome told the two of them.
"Sure we could get some kid to just tell him what he wants to hear. That will work out well." Shota said sarcastically.
Chizome laughed at the man. "I have a better idea. You let him meet Izuku Midoriya."
"How would that help him. I know the boy somehow passed the quirk councilor certification but that is not that hard. He probably did that so him and his friends wouldn't get in trouble for using their quirks in public." snarked Shota since the only times he had met the boy he had been in some kind of trouble.
"Because that eleven year old boy has already finished high school, started college, analyzes quirks better the professional analysts and honestly thinks quirks are just tools that heros just have. That it's a person's actions that define them not their quirk. Ten minutes with Izuku and Hitoshi will be regaled with all the ways his quirk could be used as a hero." Chizome informed them, causing Shota to choke on his coffee and Emi's jaw to drop.
The two heros huddled together to whisper to each other while Chizome quietly sipped his coffee waiting for the two of them. They finally turn back to him and ask when they can meet with Izuku. Chizome says that they can do it today if they want. That him and Himiko were going to the Midoriya home after leaving here. Shota nods and tells him they will come with them while Emi calls Hizashi to tell him what is going on.
An hour later the two families leave the apartment and head to the Midoriya home. Once they arrive they are greeted by Inko who surprises the other two parents by kissing Chizome in greeting. When she sees their looks Inko laughs and tells them that her and Chizome are engaged. They spent so much time together that they practically were in a relationship already and they confessed to each other so they decided to skip dating and just get married. Shota murmured a 'very logical' and received an elbow from Emi.
As they enter and settled into the living room Inko calls out to Izuku that they have guests. Izuku wandered into the room and was surprised to see there were heros in his living room. He quickly dashs out of the room only to reappear with one of his notebooks in his hands. He shyly asked if Eraserhead and Ms Joke would sign his notebook. Nodding their consent the boy opened the book to Eraserhead's pages and handed it to him. The man signed at the bottom of the page before looking at the information it contained. He saw a very detailed breakdown of his quirk, its strengths and weaknesses, his fighting style, his support gear, questions about his quirk, suggestions for different uses, improvements to his gear. It was significantly better then any analysis he had seen before. He gave it back reluctantly. Izuku then turned the pages to Ms Joke's pages for her to sign too. She too looked the pages over before giving it back.
Once Izuku's excitement had abated from getting hero autographs he noticed Himiko and the purple haired boy that him and his friends had saved a month ago. He walked over to talk to the boy.
"Hello. It's good to see you doing so well. I'm glad you are ok, you looked to be in rough shape the last time I saw you. I wanted to check on you but I didn't know your name and didn't know which hospital you might have been in. Oh, I'm Izuku Midoriya. I don't think I ever introduced myself." Izuku said as he held a hand out to the boy.
Himiko giggled before she spoke. "He hasn't been in a hospital. He's been with his new parents. He got adopted just like me. He was my friend/brother in the orphanage. He use to sneak out at night to give me blood when I was locked up." she exclaimed as she threw a hug around the boy, the parents being reminded of her mistreatment in the orphanage.
In a quiet voice the boy said, "My name is Hitoshi Shinso. Thank you for helping me last month. I was so tried when I got to the beach but Zip just kept pushing and chasing me. I don't really remember much after collapsing when I got to you. Maybe if I hadn't had that stupid muzzle on I could of used my villain's quirk to get away."
Chizome gestured for the two heros to watch as Izuku's head tilted to the side and seemed to gather an authority around him. Izuku reached out to take the Hitoshi's clasped hands as he spoke. "Hitoshi what is your quirk? Do you use it to commit crimes or hurt people?"
Hitoshi shook his head before he replied, "No I haven't. I would never do that. I want to be a hero like Dad. But everyone says my brainwashing quirk is evil." Shota started a little that Hitoshi wanted to be like him.
"So you want to be a hero? Then that makes your quirk a hero's quirk. Because you will use it to be a hero. Also brainwashing sounds like an awesome quirk. You could stop villains in their tracks, de-escalate hostage situations, use it to gather information, interrogate criminals. Your quirk is amazing." Izuku boasted to an awed Hitoshi. The purple haired boy already was standing slightly straighter as his quirk was praised.
Shota and Emi both looked on with pride as their boy stood taller as his darkest fear slid off his shoulders. They were distracted by a knocking on the front door which Inko answered and returned with Hizashi who joined his husband and wife on the couch. They quickly filled him in on what had happened causing the blonde man to tear up. They all sat there as Izuku asked questions of Hitoshi's quirk and ways to figure out how to best use it.
Chizome got the three parents attention and motioned for them to follow him into the kitchen. When they were all seated and after Inko passed out drinks, Chizome cleared his throat. "Back at your apartment I said I had two things to discuss with you, the first being how Hitoshi viewed his quirk which i feel we can safely say is resolved." at his words the parents all nodded. "The next thing I wanted to discuss is an offer of having your son join Izuku and his friends in martial arts training. Himiko is going to be joining them very soon. I thought it would help boost the boy's confidence if he could learn to defend himself. It also would be good for him to be around friends who will support him. Plus if he does follow in his father's footsteps then the training he would receive would be a bonus." he finished with a grin.
Shota frowned as he asked, "What makes you say that. Sure martial arts would be good to learn to fight but it isn't much help in underground heroics where stealth is needed a lot of the time."
"It would be helpful if he was learning Ninjtsu from one of the few true masters of the art. Izuku and his friends were first taught by the Master Splinter, Yoshi Hamato and now by his son Leonardo Hamato since old age as made it difficult for Master Splinter to continue. He has even gotten his friend Mei to join so she knows how to defend herself. Izuku doesn't realize it but he is building a hero team around him as a leader. Right now he just sees himself as helping his friends to be the best they can be but they all look to him for direction. You saw it at that police station. He had a plan to get them out of it that had a fair chance of working. When you slipped in he adapted it and ceded to your leadership because he saw you were immediately concerned about Hitoshi and he had met you before. He knew you would do the right thing and let those with more experience take over. I know this because I and his mother asked about the details of everything that happened afterwards." explained Chizome as the three other parents listened. They sat there in thoughtful silence as they absorbed all the information. Finally Emi and Hizashi looked to Shota, nodding their consent.
Shota steepled his fingers as he sat forward. "First we will need to ask Hitoshi if he would like to do this. Also I would like to meet the two who would teach my son. As for this team your son is building I find myself intrigued by the idea. In underground heroics we work more closely then limelight heros. I find the spectacle of heros now a days to be a hindrance because they don't want to work together due to losing publicity for themselves. I try to teach the students I have to rely on each other but it is negated as soon as they graduate because the showcase the HPSC makes of heroics."
Inko spoke up then, "Yes that is the thing that stuck with Izuku when All Might died. He thought about the fact that if All Might had willing to have help in his fight then he could have survived. That was when he decided he would make sure his friend Katsuki would be prepared as much as he could and he would make sure he had teammates to help him as a hero. He gave up his dream to be a hero to do this. But what he doesn't realize is he is turning himself into a hero still. My son may be quirkless but he will probably be able to take down small time villains on his own. Plus he could be a great intelligence hero like Sir Nighteye and Nezu. He has already helped the police solve two cases by anonymously sending them analysis on the quirks and crimes. All just from what he read in the news. Imagine what he could do if he had access to the actual police files. Plus he is running a website helping people with their quirks. They send him information and videos of their quirks and he analyzes them to send back suggestions. It is making him quite the nice income. Though he feels like he is taking advantage of them since he would do it for free but I told him he was providing a service and needed to charge or they would find it suspicious and think he was a villain or something."
Hizashi thought for a moment before he said, "Wait. How has he been doing all that? He's eleven. What with school and stuff he would have to be going on no sleep to get all that done."
"Oh he finished highschool a few months ago and is taking college courses online. I pulled him out of school when I found him being bullied by a teacher for being quirkless. At first I had him doing online school until I could find another school. But then I realized he had been holding himself back in school to not get in trouble with teachers. So I told him to go ahead and work as far as he could. I figured he'd maybe skip a grade or two. A few weeks later he shows he had finished elementary and was into junior high work. At eight. After that I just let him go at it as much as he wanted. I just make sure he goes out to be with his friends and doesn't stay in his mind all the time."
Hizashi whistled at the answer and was impressed. After that they called the children in to talk to them. They asked Himiko and Hitoshi about wanting to learn martial arts. Himiko jumped at the chance while Hitoshi thought about it before saying yes. Izuku cheered that his friend and almost new sister were going to join in training with him and his friends.
Shinso grunted as he landed on the mat after Himiko kicked his legs out from under him. He quickly rolled and popped back to his feet as his friend tried to attack him again. They exchanged blows for a few moments until he was able to grab her arm and lock it up to pin her down. He heard Leonardo call the match so he released Himiko's arm and stood up only to get tackled as the girl started to go on about how awesome he was doing. He heard his teacher laugh as he told him he should watch for sneak attacks, especially from overly excitable girls causing Himiko to let out a squawk of protest.
Grinning as he stood up once again Shinso thought about how much his life had changed. He was adopted by his favorite hero, saved from being harassed by a douchebag hero, inadvertently saved his friend who also got adopted, gained new friends who thought his quirk was cool and useful for hero work and now was learning to fight so he could be a hero. He pinched himself a lot sometimes to make sure he wasn't dreaming.
He was brought back to reality by his teacher telling them to get in position to practice their moves. Leonardo led them through the motions of the moves, correcting them with stern but even instruction.
Afterwards Shinso and Himiko were picked up by Hizashi as Himiko was staying the night to have a sleep over. As the two kids talked in the back of the car or more like Himiko talked while Shinso nodded along. Hizashi smiled as he thought about how much better Shinso had been doing.
His happy thoughts were interrupted as a person with a rhino quirk plowed into the car from an alley, about ripping off the front half of the car. The children screamed as the remaining part of the car spun and hit parked cars on the opposite side of the road. As soon as they stopped Hizashi yanked his seatbelt off and turned to check on the children. Shinso was shaken but awake but Himiko was knocked out with a goose egg on her head. Hizashi carefully picked up Himiko and told Shinso to follow him as they snuck out of the car towards an alley. Laying Himiko on the ground the blonde hero started to check over the girl. From what he could tell she had just smacked her head as the car crashed. Suddenly a shadow fell over them causing Hizashi to turn to see the rhino man standing above them. He had raised his arm like he was going to smash it down on them.
Just before the arm could come down Shinso yelled, "Hey! What do you think you're doing?"
The rhino man replied, "What ever I-" before his eyes clouded over and he stood relaxed.
Shinso looked surprised but pleased. He shook it off quickly as he said, "Carefully lay down and sleep for two hours." Father and son watched as the man lay down and curled up on the sidewalk.
Hizashi snatched Shinso up so quickly the boy panicked before he heard what the man was saying. "Oh my god! That was amazing son. You just stopped him and made him go to sleep like it was nothing. You are going to be a great hero." Shinso blushed as he registered the praise. A groan from Himiko sobered up Hizashi as he pulled out his phone to call the police and his partners.
Soon the police had arrived and hauled off the sleeping criminal while Shota and Emi got there as soon as they could. An ambulance took Himiko to get checked out while Shota called Chizome to tell him about his daughter.
The three heros and their son drove in a car borrowed from UA to the hospital to get checked out and check on Himiko. When they arrived they were met by Chizome, Inko, and Izuku outside the ER. They all went in with the accident victims checking in to be looked over while the others went to find their daughter. They found her being wheeled out of a curtained area with a ice pack on her head and bandage on her arm where some glass had cut her. After they fussed over her she asked if she was going to be able to go to the sleep over. She seemed put out when they told her no.
Walking up after getting Hizashi and Shinso checked out Shota promised that they could do the sleep over another time but right now they needed to make sure everyone was ok. Himiko said fine but Hizashi had to braid her hair for her next time. Hizashi readily agreed glad the other parents weren't mad at him since their daughter had been hurt in his care.
Shinso stood there looking at his hurt friend and vowed to get stronger to make sure she didn't get hurt again.
