Tensei tried not to laugh as he stood at the entrance to his little brother's school watching Tenya try to fend off a manic pink haired girl as she followed him with what looked like some kind of support item in her hands. As they got closer he could hear the girl saying "-ut if you tried it on I'm sure it would be able to help you with the overheating and stalling you talked about with your Recipro Burst move you said you could do. I'm just trying to help you out with a problem. Is this still about me caressing your calves when you got knocked out? I apologized for that didn't I?"
Tensei almost bit through his bottom lip from laughter as Tenya stopped suddenly to turn to the girl and start trying to shush her loud exclamation. He also noticed that his brother was blushing quite a bit as the girl just stood there staring at him. Suddenly she grabbed Tenya's shirt with her free hand and yanked him forward to kiss him on the mouth. Tenya went stock still before the top of his head let off a steam cloud and he went over backwards from shock. The girl pressed her fingers to her lips before she smiled as she murmured "Oh I liked that. Me and him will have to do that again. I can see why Shoto and Momo like doing that so much. Well I guess I can still see if this baby will fit like I thought it would." Tensei watched as the girl lifted his brother's legs one at a time and strapped the devices on before carefully checking to see if they fit correctly. Nodding her head in satisfaction she stood up and dusted herself off before she looked right at him and waved. She then rushed off back towards the school talking to herself the whole time about babies.
After getting himself under control Tensei strolled over to where his younger brother was still laying on the ground. As he got to the side of Tenya he saw the boy was awake and just staring at the sky. Before he could say anything the younger boy spoke, "I was not expecting that to happen. She kissed me. I think I like her. But she is so unhinged. Not someone that would be proper in the family. What would Father and Mother think? Didn't they say one time they had arranged a bride for me when I was born? Wouldn't they be angry that I went against their wishes? But the passion that surrounds Mei Hatsume is so appealing that I want to risk being burned by her inner fire." The younger boy descended into muttering to himself as his older brother stood above him with raised eyebrows as he listened to the boy.
Once it became apparent that Tenya hadn't noticed him, which was very unusual since he always seemed to notice his older brother, he nudged the younger boy with his foot. He quickly jumped back as Tenya gasped in surprise and activated his quirk as he shot up off the ground in a panic, only to go ass over kettle since Mei had strapped on the support items and they made his engines more efficient and powerful. As the younger boy lay on the ground groaning the older lay beside him laughing so hard he almost passed out from lack of oxygen.
Mei caught up with the rest of her friends after giving Tenya the support items she made for him. When she got within speaking distance of them Himiko turned to her, "I see you finally got that stubborn boy to take the things you made him. I guess you finally wore him down huh?"
"Nope! I grabbed him by the front of his shirt and kissed him. He went red and passed out after which I strapped them on him and left after waving to his brother. I wish someone had told me how fun kissing was! I would have been doing it much sooner if I had known. Though I only want to do it with Tenya so maybe I wouldn't have done it sooner now that I think about it. Uh why are you all staring at me?" The hyperactive girl explained before all her friends at school stopped to look at her.
Himiko was the first to move as she sighed and moved in front of Mei. "Mei-Mei, first congratulations on getting your first kiss. But you can't just grab someone and kiss them. You have to make sure they want to be kissed or it could get you in trouble as harassment and maybe if they feel violated enough get you in trouble with the police. You are going to need to apologize to him. Again."
"Damn I knew you were bad at social cues you explosion prone mad scientist but that takes the fucking cake. Engines is probably about to explode with indignation and rage right now. You know how much of a rule stickler he is. Himi is right you are going to have to apologize to the fucker again." Katsuki snarked as the group set off home again with a visibly subdued Mei trudging along. She just nodded with a weak "OK" being the only thing she said.
The next morning the friend group was surprised by a clearly not angry Tenya as he swept up Mei in his arms and kissed her stupid as what appeared to be his older brother filmed the event on his phone while laughing with a tall woman with black hair in a ponytail. They listened as Tenya babbled about how he couldn't resist Mei's passion for life anymore as Mei looked at them smugly from the blue haired boys arms. Everyone laughed when Katsuki face palmed and lightly exploded his face, singeing his eyebrows.
Once all the laughter died down Hitoshi started walking toward the two adults standing to the side. Tensei was about to introduce himself and his girlfriend when the purple haired boy in front of him spoke.
"Hey Auntie Nem. What are you doing here? Did my Dads and Mom send you to check up on me?" The tired looking boy asked with a tilted head and a raised eyebrow.
"No, actually I came to embarrass my boyfriend's little brother since his little straight laced ass got bit by the love bug. From what I've put together from what I've heard from your Dad and Papa talking about your friends and recognizing Hatsume's name and having known Tenya most of his life, they are both terrible at normal social interactions and I wanted to see if it would be a train wreck for them to get together but it was actually you and your friends that had the funniest reaction to them coupling up." Said Nemuri, also known as the Pro hero Midnight.
Tensei raised an eyebrow and said, "I didn't know you knew Mei before this. How come you didn't say anything?"
Nemuri turned to him as she answered. "I didn't know for sure before I saw Hitoshi here, just had a vague suspicion after having listened to Shota talk about Hitoshi's friends. Though there does seem to be one missing. Where is the green haired one? Izuku I think he called him."
"Oh Izuku doesn't go to school with us. I'm pretty sure he has already graduated from several college courses, though he does just keep starting more to keep from being bored and also to feed his brain information. If I didn't know he didn't have a quirk I would swear he had an intelligence quirk with how much he devours information. Anyway he's probably busy getting ahead in a college course or analyzing someone's quirk on commission or for the police or his job as the Analyst online. Or he could be talking to his non-girlfriend online when she isn't busy building inventions on I-Island." Hitoshi told them as he ended with a smirk on his face as the two adults grew more and more slack-jawed as he talked. "Well I hate to blow your minds and run but I need to get to class so I'm not late. Bye!" He said as he took off towards the school.
Tensei whistled loudly before speaking. "Wow. That is fucking impressive, especially for someone quirkless. Not that I look down on anyone for their quirk status. But you got to admit that hearing about someone the same age as Tenya already doing college work and making it look easy is almost unheard of even with a quirk to help let alone without one. Ok I'm going to stop talking now because I am sounding more and more quirkist as I go." He ended lamely as he couldn't form his thought correctly to articulate what he wanted to say.
Nemuri nodded along with Tensei as he talked with a thoughtful look on her face. "This Izuku sounds just like the type of person we should keep from meeting Nezu so that they don't conquer the world. (Too Late) But I'm also interested in the girl from I-Island Hitoshi mentioned. You don't suppose he meant Mellissa Shield do you? Because that could be very interesting with the both of them being geniuses from what we just heard about Izuku and what is known about Ms. Shield. I definitely will be keeping an eye out in the future on the exploits of those two. But for now we need to get going so we aren't late for our jobs. Stay safe ok?" She said after kissing Tensei on the cheek.
After Mei and Tenya got together the group of friends noticed that problems they had thought would plague the couple with Mei's manic energy and Tenya's straight-lace personality actually turned out to be positives for them because they balanced each other out with Tenya making sure Mei didn't go on benders of not sleeping and inventing to the point of crashing. Mei helped by making sure Tenya learned that life wasn't all about following strict guidelines and rules and that he was allowed to let loose and have fun. The only point of disagreement they had was Tenya's design for his hero suit he had shown his girlfriend since she made support gear and he thought she would have some insight into improvements. What he didn't except was for her to tell him that he should trash that design and let her make one designed round his quirk and not one stuck in the past.
The argument lasted quite a while before Mei got a hold of Tensei and asked him to bring a spare suit of the armor he wore while doing hero work. Then she had both Tensei and Tenya watch as she put it through stress tests of what could happen to them if they wore the traditional armor of the Iida family with their quirks and the armor was compromised. They both were sickened when they saw how the armor would crush their bodies or cut into them if it was damaged while they wore it. Mei did take into account their wishes to keep the some of the look of the traditional Iida family armor but updated and designed around their individual quirks. With Tensei she designed less bulky armor that was streamlined to let him move easier and had gauntlets that covered his hands and forearms since his Engine quirk was focused in his arms. She also included flexible cooling systems to help him be able to use his quirk longer and not overheat. For Tenya she designed a form fitting bodysuit that was more aerodynamic for less wind resistance when running and would make it easier for him to turn or dodge, something that the bulkier armor would have made difficult.
Another thing she did was introduce Tenya to Izuku to have her friend analyze her boyfriend's quirk for him. After watching Tenya show his quirk Izuku spoke to the teenager. "I really don't have anything to point out quirk wise as it seems your family has helped you train your quirk well. What I do have something to say about is how to help you with movement and fight style. I would suggest maybe taking up yoga or something similar to help you develop some flexibly as your movements are very stiff. Since your quirk is mostly located in your legs, making it easier to deliver powerful kicks, I would suggest looking into learning a type of leg based martial art or maybe kickboxing. I would send you to my dojo but I don't think it would be the right fit for you. I can try to look into some places for you if you want me to."
Tenya thought about what Izuku had told him and saw the points he was making and that he needed to develop his fighting style around his quirk even though he wanted to be like his brother as a hero. Soon with his family's help he had found a place to start learning Kickboxing as he felt that it would work best with his quirk. Also after some teasing from his brother he started doing some simple yoga to gain some flexibility, noticing soon after that he was able to run better as he started to move more naturally and not like a human shaped robot. The only thing he did kind of regret was letting Mei help him with his training because he soon learned that Izuku had trained her to be a sniper and she decided to use those skills to follow him on his runs and shoot at him with paint balls to make him dodge and quickly turn on the go to hone his reflexes. The first time she did that he came home looking like a paint factory had puked up on him. His mother squawked in protest as he trailed paint in the house while Tensei laughed at him. His brother laughed even harder at him when he was made to stand in the backyard as his mother sprayed him down with the hose the gardener had handed her. It didn't help his mood when he could see she was fighting a smile as she soaked him from head to toe. Needless to say he was very motivated to learn the lessons in dodging.
He was very glad for those lessons when a few months into being snatched into Mei's friend group when he said something without thinking about how it would sound outside his head without the accompanying thoughts that went with it, "I wonder if Izuku feels any relief in not having a quirk and not feeling the pressure of having to train to be a hero?" What went unsaid in his mind was the flip side of the thoughts about how Izuku had to deal with all crap that people thought of quirkless people and how they weren't thought of as real people and often treated horribly. He only realized he had spoken out loud when he noticed how quiet everyone got. Blinking at he looked up and clearing his mind he widened his eyes comically as he started to sputter out apologizes as he tried to explain himself as he dodged pillows and other things the others threw at him.
Shota frowned down at his desk as he stared at a binder sitting on it that hadn't been there a few moments ago when he stepped away to grab a cup of coffee. He slowly reached out and picked up the note on top and read it while sipping his coffee. He stared to grin as he finished the note and reached out to pick up the binder. He tucked it under his arm as he went to camp out in his husband's classroom with his sleeping bag and read the contents of the binder.
