Izuku limped into the teachers' lounge at UA the day after his sister and friends got their acceptance letters with a grin on his face. Several teacher looked on concerned. Snipe spoke up, "Hey partner, uh you ok?"
Izuku looked up and nodded. "Yeah I'm fine. Just never should have taught Shoto to produce throwing weapons made out of ice. He hit me in the leg and twinged a nerve so I have a bit of dead leg going. I'll be ok in a day or two. But that only happened because my friends were chasing me after I revealed that I'm going to be a teacher here by announcing it to them via their acceptance letters on hologram. They chased me out of the house and I was staying out of their grasp until Shoto got me. Then they dog piled me and tickled the hell out of me. Good times." By the time he was done talking most of the room was dying of laughter and Shota was grumping from behind the couch about the noise level.
Izuku just smiled and continued to the counter with the coffee machine to grab a mug of it before he went to meet with Nezu in his office. They were finalizing some changes they were making to the Heroics classes before they told Shota and Kan about them.
Soon the young genius and hyper intelligent animal were behind closed doors laughing like crazy, loud enough to make sure everyone that heard it was detouring as far away as possible.
"I hate that Damn Rat." muttered Shota as he and Kan walked out of their meeting with Nezu. They had just been informed that they weren't going to have two separate classes but one big class of all the Heroics students and it had been expanded to fifty students since they were now co-teaching the class together. Along with Izuku Midoriya, who he just knew was behind this change in format. Walking into the teacher's lounge he spotted the number one problem child in his life right now and snatched him up by the back of his shirt making the boy let out an "Eep" sound. Walking outside carrying the child after motioning to Kan to follow, he headed to towards the field he used every year to do his Quirk Assessment Tests. Once he judged they were far enough away from the school and no one was around he set Izuku on his feet and got ready to ask why the boy had changed up the way the classes were being done but before he could say anything said boy spoke up.
"I guess Nezu told you guys about the changes to the class structure Huh? Before you ask about the increased size to fifty, I expect some to drop out of the course once they realize it not going to be all glitz and glamour like it was under the HPSC. Also I wanted to do away with the rivalry between classes and teach them to work together and support each other in the future. The days of showboating are over. The public doesn't know it yet but the Hero Billboard is gone. If they want to do a popularity contest they are more than welcome to do it online or something. We are going to produce actual Heros, people who do it for the right reasons and protect the public." Izuku explained as he straightened himself from the crouch he landed in and then started to pace as he talked.
Kan asked, "How do you know this? No offense but you are just a teenager."
"I am the major backer of the QRA since I acquired the HPSC and took all its asset to fund the QRA. Then I sold the scraps to a bunch of stupid greedy rich people who thought they could pick up right where the HPSC left off in controlling the Hero industry. Plus my mom and aunt work there. My mom is the lead of the Legal department and my aunt is the President. My stepdad basically runs the Enforcement department even though he says he is just another grunt. Besides I know the darker sides of life. I'm quirkless. Heros don't help people like me unless it will make them look good for a camera. I have had Heros wipe their hands on their uniform in front of me after shaking my hand when they found out I was quirkless. Go from friendly and open when I fanboyed and asked about their quirks to looking at me like I was something lesser than human, like something on the bottom of their shoe. I want to make sure that no one has to deal with that in the future. Or be treated like Hitoshi or Himiko when they were found in that orphanage. Like villains who stood no chance of being anything different. So if I have to conspire with Nezu and drag the new generation of Heros kicking and screaming into the future then that's what I will do." Izuku started to explain before starting to rant as his emotions overwhelmed him to make him let go of all the frustration he had hidden all his life. So he also missed the wince from Shota when he mentioned how Hitoshi was when he was younger or the way Kan frowned about Himiko, who they had learned was a second cousin once removed to the Blood Hero.
Once the adrenaline wore off a bit Izuku realized he had shouted at his soon to be coworkers, he turned to apologize only for Shota to just nod as he said, "Well, Ok then. Let's see what you got Problem Child." Before he slouched off with Kan trailing behind him while giving Izuku a thumbs up with a determined look on his face.
"That just happened I guess. I wish I was old enough to drink because I sure could go with something to calm my nerves now." Izuku mumbled as he walked around the school.
(Meanwhile a certain principal was laughing his ass off while trying to not choke on his tea.)
A taxi pulled up to the front of the Midoriya house and let out a blonde haired blue eyed female teenager who thanked the driver and tipped well much to the gratitude of the driver. As the taxi pulled away the girl looked up at the house before she walked towards the door. Unbeknownst to her she was watched by several other teenagers who lived in the neighboring houses who all took notice of her arrival since hardly anyone visited their friend's home except them. The girl got to the door and rang the doorbell after which she waited for someone to answer while she fidgeted. Her attention quickly snapped into focus as the door opened and a green haired boy stood there with a confused look on his face. She stared at him for a moment before she launched herself at him and kissed him speechless. As she pulled back she watched his eyes widen before they rolled up into his head and he fainted. From further in the house she heard, "Well that's certainly one way to introduce yourself. Hello Melissa. Grab his feet while I grab his shoulders and we can close the door." snarked Himiko as she appeared from around the corner.
Izuku drifted back to awareness thinking about the nice dream he had, reaching up to touch his lips as he thought about how pleasant his dream about his first kiss had been. When he pulled his fingers away they felt like they had something on them, kind of a slick feeling. He cracked open his eyes to see there was a light pink substance on his fingers he didn't recognize only to realize he wasn't in his room in bed once his eyes focused past his fingers and saw the back of the couch in the living room. His head snapped to the side when he heard the sound of a picture being taken and saw his sister and friends all standing in the living room staring at him only noticing Katsuki holding up his phone when he took another picture.
"Uh, what going on? I don't remember us all supposed to be meeting up for anything. So why is everyone here and why is Katsuki taking pictures of me?" asked a confused Izuku.
An amused Hitoshi answered with a dramatic drawl, "We're all here to bare witness to you being taken down in your own home. If we had known all it would take was to kiss you I would have done it myself years ago even if it would have been weird. Also we were getting to know the person who took you out." As he finished speaking Himiko and him stepped in opposite directions to reveal a blonde haired girl who waved shyly.
Izuku appeared to teleport off the couch as he stood up and crossed the room to stand in front of the girl. "Melissa? You're here? And you kissed me? How? Why? I don't think my brain is working correctly. Am I having a stroke?" He babbled as he stood in front of her, his hand rubbing his temple.
Melissa just smiled and took his free hand as she spoke, "Yes I'm here. As to how and why, Himiko contacted me so we could surprise you. As to why I kissed you well I couldn't contain my feelings when I saw you in person, so I acted on them. Guess I surprised you with that. By the way as much as I like seeing it on your lips I don't think pink lipstick is the right shade for you. By the way I don't think you're having a stroke so much as you are overwhelmed with everything that is happening. So why don't we sit down and work through all this."
Izuku just nodded as she lead him back to the couch and sat down with him. All of the sudden his head swung around to look at Melissa. "Wait a minute. How do you know Himiko?" He asked before he turned to look at his sister.
Melissa redirected his attention to her as his friends watched on in amazement as she easily handled him, the person who usually ran circles around everyone else. "She contacted me a while ago to basically make sure I wasn't someone trying to take advantage of you for that big brain of yours. She wanted to make sure you weren't being a dumb teenage boy and letting your hormones lead you astray and that I wasn't taking advantage of that. After I reassured her that I just liked talking with you since you could understand what I talked about on the same level with me and that it was amazing talking to someone that understood the struggle of being quirkless in the world now a days we started up a friendship of our own. It was nice to have another girl to talk to who didn't look down on me for something out of my control. I mean I know you understand since we are in the same boat genetically but it is refreshing to have a female friend who just wanted to be my friend. Usually the people I meet either want to coddle me because they think they need to protect me, treat me like something lower than scum because they are quirkist or want to butter me up to get closer to my father and me for our genius and achievements in the support industry. She also noticed I was falling for you when I didn't realize it myself since it something I hadn't ever thought of as possible due to my being quirkless. So we hatched a plan for me to visit and see if you might feel the same way but I kind of threw the plan out the window when I basically attacked you with a kiss." She finished talking with a blush on her face as she looked down slightly.
Izuku sat there absorbing the information he had just received before he lifted his hand to put his fingers under Melissa's chin and lift her head up. He looked into her eyes before he leaned forward to touch his lips to hers, ignoring the sound of cameras snapping pictures coming from his friends and family whipping out their phones to capture the moment. "I had to reassess some things in my mind about how I thought of you. I know I like talking to you and that I find myself checking my phone at times to see if you had left a message. That thinking of you makes me warm inside my chest. But like you I hadn't really ever thought of finding someone to share my life with because of my quirklessness. I never thought it was in the cards for me. But I would very much like to date you even if it is for however long you are visiting for and long distance after that. I've never felt this way about anyone. In fact you might be it for me. You get me like only one other person has ever and I don't feel for Nezu the same I feel for you. God for two supposedly smart people we had to be hit over the head about our feelings didn't we?"
Melissa giggled at the comment about Nezu as she looked into Izuku's eyes as she reveled in the fact her crush was now her boyfriend. Their moment was suddenly interrupted as a blonde missile smashed into both of them, nearly flipping the couch as Himiko hugged them as she babbled about how she was so glad it had all worked out and that she was going to be the best aunt when the two of them had children, which caused both AND to stop working and promptly pass out on the couch.
Hitoshi face palmed as Himiko tried to shake them awake while everyone else just laughed their asses off.
Deciding to date Melissa turned out to be easier than Izuku thought it would be since it turned out she was moving here to attend UA in the Support course.
Much like Mei, Melissa was an accomplished inventor but due to her age and quirk status anything she had made up till now had been attributed to her father with her being assigned a junior role on the patent paperwork. Her father hated that it was that way and had every intention of redoing the paperwork to give her the patents when he could legally do so. He already made sure the money made off of them was put into her accounts since it was her hard work that made the money.
Speaking of Melissa's father Izuku had thought he was going to have a tough time with the man when he spoke with him about dating his daughter but a couple of minutes into the conversation Izuku interrupted the man who was trying to sound like a proper father of the girl he was trying to date by telling him that some of the math in an equation in the background was wrong and he couldn't concentrate with it there. Mr. Shield looked behind himself and blinked before he grabbed the whiteboard and ddragged it forward as he asked Izuku about the incorrect spot. Once he had explained where the problem was Mr. Shield had smacked his head in frustration and started ranting about how this made the whole thing work and that it would probably make all the problems they had been having with a prototype disappear. He probably would have went off to revamp the prototype and test it if Izuku hadn't cleared his throat and pulled his attention back to him. After that Melissa's father gave his blessing and even told him he had permission to marry her just so they didn't have to have another conversation about his daughter's dating life. Izuku signed off to the sound of the inventor yelling for assistants to come help him.
The only problem that plagued him was the amount of crap he was getting from his friends. And most of that centered around them bitching about the fact that he had a girlfriend before they did. Well most of it came from Katsuki and Hitoshi since Shoto had Momo and Mei had locked down Tenya. Only Himiko didn't give him grief because she was just happy he had finally pulled his head out of his ass and realized his feelings for Melissa.
So they were on the final date they could go on before the school year would start at UA just enjoying the time together. They also were ignoring the commentary from behind them as their friends followed acting as though they were tracking wild animals for a nature show. Just as Shoto was going on about them being on a date was some kind of mating ritual something slammed into Katsuki's leg from the side out of an alley. They all stopped and looked down to see a white haired child quaking in fear as she buried her face in the explosive boy's knee. Katsuki looked up and then turned his head to look in the alley where he saw a man with some kind of beak looking mask running towards them. He quickly grabbed the child and using one hand blasted himself over the street away from the oncoming man. Izuku grabbed Melissa's arm and took off running down the street away from the developing situation as he pulled out his phone to call his father and the police. Everyone else saw what was happening and scattered to make it hard for the man to track them. The man made a beeline for Katsuki who had passed by Tenya with a quick instruction to take the girl and run as fast as he could to get her away from the situation.
As Katsuki blasted his way down the street with the man shouting behind him about him giving back the child or the man was going to die, he turned a corner to see an oncoming police car racing his way. He angled his direction to pass just in front of the car and land on the other side as the car screeched to a halt. The officers jumped out to start berating him for using his quirk in public, only stopping when Katsuki yelled that he was being chased by a villain or criminal just as the man rounded the corner and shouted at Katsuki to give back the girl. The officers quickly turned to the man and raised their guns to cover the man who raised his hands and suddenly their guns were in his hands. He went to point the guns back at the officers when one of them disappeared and a brown rat scurried towards the man out of an empty police uniform. As the man swung the gun around to try to find the officer he was suddenly struck in the neck by a very naked officer who had transformed back after using his small size to get behind the man. The other officer ran over to cuff the man while the other officer transformed back and ran for his clothes to cover up.
Katsuki had to hold in a chuckle as the transforming officer grumbled about having to get back into his uniform while the other officer dragged the knocked out villain towards the car and locked him inside. Then both officers turned to Katsuki to start asking how this all started only to be interrupted by the radio calling for them. Once they answered they were asked if they had ran into Katsuki because they had a report from another person about him being chased as a distraction to give another teenager time to get away with a young girl. They were asked to wait for another car to arrive before they took in the villain so that the car could bring Katsuki to the station to get the reports right. Several minutes later another car pulled up with a familiar cat headed officer at the wheel.
Katsuki walked towards the car with a friendly "What's up Officer Sansa?" As the cat headed man just laughed and unlocked the front door for the boy as the other officers looked on in confusion. Not saying anything after Katsuki got in Sansa tipped his hat and drove away as the other officers got in their car to follow and get the slowly awakening man in a cell.
Once they reached the police station Katsuki was relieved to see all his friends had made it out without any injuries. Melissa was questioning Izuku on whether this happened a lot since they knew how to react in the moment. Izuku stated that they seemed to have terrible luck in regards to trouble finding them and that he had also trained them to react without freezing in preparation of being heroes. They all quickly shut up when Detective Tsukauchi stepped out of his office and grimaced at the group sitting there. "What did you kids get into this time?" The tired looking man asked as he walks over.
They begin to explain what happened while Detective Tsukauchi took notes and records the interview after calling all their parents for permission after it was known that Inko was on her way to the station to act as their legal counsel and she trusted Detective Tsukauchi to not try to blow up the situation towards the kids. They explain how they were out annoying Izuku and Melissa on their date when the little white haired girl ran into Katsuki and how he made the snap decision to get her away when he saw the man chasing her. Everyone else then told him how they all scattered to make it harder for the man to catch one of them while Izuku relayed that he had called the police and his father for help. Then Tenya explained how Katsuki gave him the girl and told him to run to a police station while he lead the man away since the man had only seen the explosive boy with the girl. Katsuki then told him how he led the man down the street and ran into the officers that captured the man and everything that happened there.
Just after they finished another officer approached to let them know that the little girl was asking for "Boom Boy" which caused Katsuki to blush and the other kids to laugh. Detective Tsukauchi told the officer that it would be alright to bring the girl in until they figured out what they were going to do since they were looking into her identity. They were trying to figure out if she was kidnaped or something else. The other officer walked her in and she immediately made a beeline for Katsuki, crawling into his lap and staring around at everyone.
Tsukauchi gently asked what her name was and if there was anyone they could call for her. She shook her head before she answered. "My name is Eri. That's what Grandpa called me before Kai did something to make him sleep all the time and have to have beeping machines beside his bed. He doesn't know I saw him do that to Grandpa. I liked it better when Grandpa was still awake. Then Kai didn't make me go away and come back. It hurts so much when he does that. That's why I ran from Setsuno when he took me to the park. Please don't make me go back."
"Trust me when I say you are never going back there ever again." Said Inko from the doorway. She walked into the room and looked to make sure everyone was ok before she looked at Eri and froze. She turned to the detective and asked "Do you have anyway of having a blood test done quickly? We need to test her blood with Katsuki's as soon as possible. If I'm correct they are related on his mother's side and if that turns out to be correct then we might be in for a shitstorm."
"Why is that?" Asked Detective Tsukauchi as he pulled out his phone to make a call to the hospital for someone to come do the blood test.
"Because if I'm right this involves the Yakuza and we might have the granddaughter of one of the bosses on our hands. Mitsuki is the daughter of one of them but she cut ties with them because she didn't want to be in that life. Her father let her go with his blessing knowing it was the right thing to do. But Eri looks enough like her sister to make me do a double take when I saw her."
"Well shit" groaned Detective Tsukauchi as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
