Hi!
I deeply apologize for the late update but here it is
enjoy...
Chapter 22
Cyrus was lying on the bed thinking, he had destroyed his own life and that of his family too, the Dark Lord on one side and Daphne on the other. If Phobos and Aurelia discovered that she had been under his wing all this time, they would not hesitate for a moment to wipe him off the face of the earth. Not only him, but his family as well.
He began massaging his thighs in nervousness. The Dark Lord was not merciful, despite his intense loyalty, he did what he did to him.
He heard heavy footsteps toward his chambers, and out of the blue his wife burst into the chamber with a pale face breathing heavily.
"Trouble my dear! Misfortune befell us!" Eleanor screamed.
"What are you talking about?" Cyrus was confused.
Eleanor was shaking and breathing hard, "She ran away, I do not know how she did it! "
Cyrus gritted his teeth, "Explain."
Eleanor gulped in fear, "I went to see her this morning, s-she called for me and then everything went black, I just woke up to find myself sleeping in her chamber," she explained.
Before Cyrus could manage to react and speak.
A voice came out of their chamber.
"FIRE!"
Cyrus shot up straight when he heard the shouting, struggling to climb on his chair.
With his wand in his hand, and his wife behind him, he ran to the corridor.
He saw the elves running here and there in panic.
He looked around and could see the evidence of smoke swirling from the end of the hall.
It was coming from her chamber. Daphne!?
…
"Oh, so Her Majesty is not returning this term, how unlucky," Pansy said, rolling her eyes.
"She is sick," Tracey snapped.
"So what? I am not her Healer to worry about her, perhaps she is scared and running from me," Pansy smirked and Tracey wanted to choke her at the moment.
Astoria laughed at that reply.
"Who is scared of whom?"
Astoria's body shivered, she didn't have to turn around and look at the direction of the voice to know who it belonged to.
"Daphne," Astoria whispered, feeling her body freeze up almost instantly.
The blonde witch gave a side glance to her supposed sister before turning her focus to the small group in front of her.
"Daphne! " Tracey lightened up at the presence of her best friend, then smirked at the stunned Pansy.
Daphne sat forcibly between Pansy and Astoria, with the aura of a mighty queen.
"You didn't tell who is scared of whom?" Daphne repeated her question.
She could hear the laughter of the boys as they laughed at the situation Pansy Parkinson was put in.
Pansy bit her cheek trying not to cause a scene in the Great Hall and give the other houses a show to watch.
Without saying anything she lifted herself from the table and returned to her place, away from the ice queen. For now.
"Bloody fantastic," Pansy said sarcastically.
Once Pansy was out of sight, the other three Slytherins burst into hysterical chuckles.
Daphne was confused at the sudden outburst and asked Tracey but the latter couldn't talk without laughing.
Parkinson had been shut by the queen.
"Seriously, what's going on?"
"N-Nothing," Theo waved his hand, trying to seize his breath.
"I-I will tell you later, promise," Tracey answered, wiping a tear.
Daphne rolled her eyes and took a sip of water, and her eyes caught a frightened Astoria. Oh boy she had forgotten the existence of the girl.
She moved closer to her and Astoria flinched.
Daphne stared at the others who were busy now talking about something else.
"Why? You were supposed to be in the house?" Astoria managed to ask in a faint voice.
Daphne put her cup down and said "Dearest sister, is my presence annoying you that much? Careful, someone may hear and believe it," Daphne said mockingly.
Astoria shot her a frown.
"Did you get mar-"
"Hush! No I haven't, and I don't want you to talk about it ever again," Daphne smiled as her words held poison.
Astoria's face paled and her brows knitted together, "What did you do? To my parents?"
Astoria was scared, the cold look that she received from Daphne let her mind drift to the worst scenarios that could have happened while she had been on the train.
That smile, and the kiss in the air…
Daphne could feel that the little girl was shaking, she sighed and turned her full attention on the girl.
"Don't worry, I haven't killed them…yet," she replied softly.
"What…why would you ever?" Astoria pleaded for answers, her eyes watering.
They had done nothing to Daphne , au contraire, they gave her everything that was supposed to belong to her.
Daphne squeezed Astoria's hand and said like she was trying to convince a child that it was just a joke.
"Every treason faces its punishment, when the right moment arrives," Daphne raised her brows.
"No hard feelings, now be a good sister alright," she smiled and patted Astoria's lap before turning her attention to her friends.
Daphne felt a small tickling in the back of her head, zoned for a second, then snapped to reality.'Oh! Sleeping beauty has woken up, time for plan B then,' she thought, glancing at the sky that appeared magically through the roof of the Great Hall.
She stood and disappeared between the halls without a noise.
While Daphne was walking in the corridors of the castle, her mind reminded her of the whole day.
..."You wanted to speak with me, my dear, " Eleanor said as she stepped inside Daphne's room.
Daphne turned with a smile on her face.
"Yes, I won't take long." she said.
Eleanor waited for what Daphne wanted to say, the girl approached her with a sigh.
"I was a good daughter was I?" Daphne asked, making Eleanor confused by the question.
The mother nodded.
"And you were a good mother, I won't deny that," she tilted her head, scanning her from head to toes.
"I hope you will continue like that by answering with complete honesty."
Eleanor brows frowned and she looked at the blonde.
"Who is the man?" she asked, more like she ordered as she circled around her while trying to play with her nerves.
Making Eleanor feeling insecure, as soon as she felt the fear and weakness coming out of her, she began to enter her mind.
See what she would find there.
Young Cyrus was looking at her smiling as he held his baby daughter Astoria in his hands. "You gave me my light, thank you Eleanor," he said, kissing her forehead.
Daphne searched more.
"The Dark Lord wants me to do a task for him," Cyrus said as Eleanor was massaging his shoulders.
"What does he want?"
"To enter the Vasilian's palace…"
Daphne paused for a second when she heard it, confused.
The Dark Lord?
She looked deeper now more seriously than before.
Cyrus was sitting on his knees, his hands in Eleanor's, in a way to calm her down.
"I will adopt the youngest princess…"
"Can we afford it? it's a huge task, why would we do it?"
"That's the Dark Lord's order before he disappeared, I will fulfill it!"
Daphne's breath hitched as she heard his words.
"What order!? He is gone for good, isn't he?" Eleanor snapped in fear when she saw the look on Cyrus's face.
"My goodness! Cyrus, what did you get yourself involved in?!" Eleanor was trembling.
When he didn't answer her, she rushed to him, grabbing his blazer in her fists, panicking in her face.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING!? YOU HAVE A WIFE AND A DAUGHTER FOR SALAZAR'S FUCKING SAKE!" she yelled.
"Think at least for our Astoria if not for me!?" she whispered.
"We have no choice…," he replied in agony.
Eleanor shook her head and released him, turning away.
"The king… does he know about it?"
"No,"
"We have everything, we do not need to do any of this…"
"..."
When Cyrus didn't reply Eleanor turned to face him "Why?"
"We will take care of the future bride of the Dark Lord, the future queen…"
The image went to the first day of Daphne inside the house of Greengrass.
Daphne pulled herself out of the woman's mind, she had seen enough.
When she turned to face Eleanor, the woman was on her knees in front of her, her face down, ashamed of what the girl just saw.
"Shame on you," Daphne said in a soft tune, void from any emotion.
Eleanor's eyes widened from shock and embarrassment.
She looked up to face the agony eyes of Daphne.
Her lips parted but unable to talk.
Daphne looked away for a moment and then patted the woman's shoulder.
"I forgive you," Daphne said, her palm laying on Eleanor's cheek.
Rubbing her thumb before putting Eleanor into a sleeping spell.
"Day is over and night has come, chase your dreams and embrace them, for it you shall meet," she said in her mind.
Eleanor's eyes slowly closed and her head fell back but Daphne held it and gently she laid her on the floor.
"Dido!" she called the elf.
"Yes young mistress!"
"Put the woman in my bed," she ordered.
Once the elf did what she was tasked for and turned her attention to Daphne.
Daphne was in deep thoughts and didn't realize that the small elf was staring at her.
"Alright, now you know what to do right? " Daphne asked.
Dido nodded.
"Humans are worthless, short-lived creatures who are afraid of what they do not understand," came out of Daphne's mouth suddenly, her eyes on the bed.
Then she inhaled softly, trying to cast on herself a glamour that changed one's appearance to look like another person, glamour spells creating an illusion around the body, whereas shape-shifting causes a physical change.
Rather than Polyjuice Potion which lasts for an hour or less, the glamour could stay much longer; it depends on the power of the mage.
Daphne as a child made frequent use of glamours, posing as the knights or any person she met for fun. However, because she wasn't actually changing the shape of her body, her shadow could still be seen in her true form. This allowed the knights to always know to find out who she was.
But as she got older she knew how to hide her shadow.
Now as she looked at the mirror, she saw the reflection of Eleanor Greengrass.
Fixing her hair and her clothes around her body, she turned to see Dido shift into the form of Daphne.
"Dido once I'm out of the house you may leave, thank you," she smiled as she held the elf's hand between hers.
Dido's eyes widened when she felt something in her hands, when she looked she found gloves in them.
"Mistress!" Dido protested.
"Hush! Keep them as a souvenir from me," Daphne smiled.
"Mistress!" Dido through her arms around Daphne.
Daphne felt awkward to see her own self hugging her.
But she returned the hug."I will never forget you, live happily out there and never return here ever!"
When they released, Dido turned her focus to the bed. "What about her? "
"Don't worry, she will sleep for long as she can."
"Good bye," Daphne said before leaving the bedchamber.
She gave it one last look, it was time to let go, for real.
Her stuff was already packed the night before in her small portefeuille that was under an extension charm, she rarely used it, besides she didn't take too much stuff, except her favorite dresses, books and jewels. Like any bag.
Once she closed the door behind her, she could feel a barrier rise.
She let out a sigh of relief that she was able to leave before it closed again.
She knew that if she invited Eleanor inside the room, they would turn it off for some time for her.
Which was why she needed her in, but she never expected to discover such a treason, deep down she had believed in this family, she wanted to.
As always they prove they were like all the others, liars.
But Voldemort?
"I will adopt the youngest princess…"
"That's the Dark Lord's order before he disappeared, I will fulfill it!"
"We will take care of the future bride of the dark lord, the future queen…"
"I need to know everything about my subordinates. "
"I have too many names, I can be a ghost of the past."
"I would lie if I say I didn't finally meet someone who challenged me."
"I'm not the one who should be afraid here, little one."
"I will drop off my mask if you drop yours."
She felt her throat dry up before she was able to talk.
"What was Voldemort's real name again?" she asked herself.
Her breath was getting heavier with every step.
She remembered when Harry told her Voldemort's real name.
"Tom… My name is Tom."
"His name was after his father, Tom Riddle… "
"Mother! Hurry up I will miss the train," she didn't even realize that she was already in front of Astoria.
"Let's go," she said before entering the carriage.
She looked at Astoria to see her staring up, when she followed her stare, she couldn't hold her smirk.
Dido was in the act by the balcony as Daphne.
"Come on, sweetheart, time to go," Daphne said to Astoria.
When they reached the platform and wished goodbye, Daphne felt Astoria wanting to say something.
"What is it my dear?" Daphne asked in the motherly voice of Eleanor.
"She is leaving for real, this time?" Astoria asked.
Daphne knew that she was talking about her, she looked around then back to the girl.
"Perhaps," was her only reply.
"Mother, this is not fair, not at all!" Astoria frowned.
Daphne pressed her lips together in a thin line, trying to think of something else.
"Do you hate her that much?" Daphne asked, her voice hid her feelings of sympathy, she always felt that Astoria was not very friendly with her, but never pushed the bottom.
She didn't regret the question, it was time to know what the brunette thought of her anyway.
Astoria wasn't surprised by the question, her mother always knew about her feelings but she asked her.
"Yes, she is an imposter, that stole my identity, my right." Astoria said, her tone filled with jealousy.
Daphne's eyes hooded at the girl.
"Have a great time my dear, and don't think about her, we will get rid of her soon," Daphne aka Eleanor smiled and hugged Astoria.
She looked around and there was no sign of the redheads or her man.
She waited until she saw the train depart before she Apparated to Hogsmeade.
…...
Daphne didn't go to the dungeons instead she ran to the seven floor without glancing behind her and once she was inside the room, which was all empty, four walls, one mirror on the wall, one candle in the middle of the floor.
She stepped into the middle of the room, playing with her wand between her fingers,
She put it down on the floor and walked around the room in a circle, her fingers massaging her lips, humming.
A whole round, feeling the power rising within her, tickling the tip of her toes.
It was a high feeling like she was wrapped in warm silk, she smiled.
Taking two tissues out of her pocket, one black fabric in her right palm and another burgundy in her left palm.
She kept it lightly between her fingers, her eyes like a hawk on the candle, she sat on her knees in front of it.
Challenging the fire that was rising within her soul.
"Shall we begin, "
Once the words came out of her mouth, the candle flared.
Daphne smiled, satisfied.
«ignis,ignis ardebit meum tribulationis.
ignis,ignis manducare omnia, quae vis.»
Daphne chanted as she put the fabrics over the candle, the flame eating the fabrics.
Her eyes turned black as her magic, her powers were connected with the element of fire as one.
She chanted again…
In the hand of Daphne they burned.
She could feel the burn, but the sensation was relaxing, her eyes burned in desire and heat of the moment as she saw it burn in her hands.
Her eyes returned to the normal ice blue. She let the fabrics burn while they were flowing in the air as she walked to the mirror in the wall.
Waving her hand in front of it and the mirror magically showed images of another place.
Her chamber in the Greengrass Manor, she watched.
The curtains of her chamber were black and they were on fire.
"Fire, Fire show them what the seventh hell's fire could eat…" she said, her tone was dark and husky, her eyes were in flames.
Staring as the walls of the room started to turn to orange and red colours. The fire was eating everything from her point of view.
The wardrobe, the bed, the bathroom and everything within the chamber were burning, turning to ashes.
Cyrus was in shock as he watched the smokes coming out of her chambers, the elves couldn't turn it down.
Their magic didn't work.
Eleanor was frightened behind him.
He tried to do some spells, it didn't work.
Suddenly an elf showed up by his side "Master! Master your study chamber is on fire, Master!"
Cyrus' mind became blank.
The fire seemed to burn only what was within the chambers, it wasn't approaching or licking to the outside.
Like a spell.
No, like a demon in act.
She did it, it was her answer to him.
He knew it, he always knew what she was able to do, he was in her favors for a reason.
But why his study !?
The adoption contract!
He was keeping it well protected under many barriers.
It won't be destroyed no matter what.
Normal wizards hid their expensive treasure in a trust in Gringotts.
But not him, something that could keep him in control was always under his watch.
He tried on his chair to run to the study, to insure his stuff but once he was about to move inside, the barrier rejected him, pushing in a strong wave back. Making him fall from his chair on the floor.
He was defeated by her, she knew about the barriers.
But how could she do it?
If the elves couldn't manage to seize the fire in her chambers how could they do this?
He could only hope that it wasn't the entire manor that was on fire.
He was just staring at a large column of flames as if he couldn't believe that there was actually a fire.
His work, his files and everything he had put there, was turning to ashes.
Eleanor by his side was trying to snap him back to reality but soon abandoned him when she realised he wouldn't respond to her.
Ordering the elves around, Eleanor was trying her best to protect her house, casting an Aguamenti even though it wasn't working.
.
Seeing the inferno that she created through the mirror, she felt her lips twitched into a smirk, a victory smirk.
Finally she was able to catch her breath, an actual breath.
She waved in front of the mirror to turn off the image which disappeared in front of her.
She felt it.
The first step into her freedom.
She destroyed a link between her and the Greengrass family.
The chambers of hers were ashes, nothing to repair.
No evidence that she ever lived there.
She had thought about this plan a year ago, when she wanted to join her brother.
Only he refused, telling her to remain there.
The spell of summoning the fire of seventh hell was one of the strongest spells of the element.
The fire that nothing came alive from it.
It was the perfect one to destroy all the evidence of her existence.
The study chambers?
It was a warning to Cyrus, today was his personal house, tomorrow his all properties if she wanted.
Besides Daphne knew that, the contract of adoption was never in his trust in Gringotts.
He would never let that piece of paper out of his eye.
Destroying it was her best option, every adoption held the personal statue of the adopted.
If he discovered by chance her marriage it would have been a disaster, she had to play cool to get rid of it.
Thank goodness the plan worked, but she should not forget to thank the assistance she got today, to fulfill her wishes.
Dido would get her reward for helping her.
It was a moment to celebrate.
Until she coughed, causing her to snap out of her memory.
Not many seconds later a new coughing came along that made Daphne dizzy.
Her chest was suddenly burning with new pain that she was sure wasn't there before and breathing in became even harder to do. A searing pain ran all the way down her back.
'Wait!?what's going on?'
The consequences of the spell were back on her.
She let out a scream of pain.
She had guessed that there would be some side effects for using much energy like tiredness. But not this pain, it was new to her.
She felt fire burning her inwardly.
This wasn't supposed to happen, she didn't hurt any human.
That's right.
Daphne had a trick to her illness.
There were a few rules regarding her illness.
The first of them, if she only used her magic on herself, it would not turn against her.
If she used it on inanimate objects, control the elements without hurting anything.
And the last of them is if she used it for another person. That was, if she fulfilled another person's request, the price would be paid by the person.
The point of it was life and death.
If she didn't cross both lines, she was in a safe area.
This was a new level.
She looked at her arms and her new closed scars from the incident before they had reopened.
She gasped in fear and shock.
Did she use more than expected?
Sure she summoned a hell fire.
But she didn't hurt any living creature.
She had been using fucking pyrokinesis like a toy in her fingers for years, now by summoning hell fire she would not allow herself to lose control.
She inhaled deeply trying to gather her focus.
'Control yourself, you can do it,' she encouraged herself.
'You should have summoned Lavaro or one of your elves to do the task for you, you didn't have to, you know,' the other voice was scolding her, growling.
'WHAT!? Have you lost your mind? I can't summon a fire demon for such a thing,I could perfectly take care of this for myself!'
'What an egoistic, maniac person,' the voice groaned.
'besides if I released it would be hard to send it back and cage it, especially in school,it would cause troubles,' she confessed, she thought of suggestions before but the risks were high.
Fire demons are active creatures.
The feeling of burning was seizing, she sighed in relief.
'Easy girl, you're doing well' she breathed.
She would try to manage her return to the dungeons.
Or call Dobby to take her instead.
She fought to stand and leave, when she felt someone holding her by the shoulders.
Her eyes drift to the person and her lips parted…
Harry!
When did he enter? She didn't feel his presence.
But he was in front of her.
After helping her stand up he managed to change the room to a cozy bedroom with a bed, he turned to the doors then back to her.
The air felt heavy. Daphne held her breath as he stared back at her…
He did not waste a moment longer before rushing to her, capturing her in his arms before she knew what had overcome her.
She didn't hesitate and buried her nose in his neck, inhaling his scent to calm her senses.
They clung to each other for dear life, her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, his wrapped around her waist and suddenly her feet were off of the ground and she was spinning and she felt so light. She felt… happy.
"Daphne," he breathed, almost laughing into her hair.
"Harry," she replied, a smile on her lips. She nuzzled his neck, kissed his cheek.
She did not want him to let her down.
For a long time Daphne clung to her husband like a drowning person might cling to wreckage in a storm. When they parted, Harry slid his hands down her arms. He clasped her hands in his own as if to warm them. His voice was husky as he said, disbelieving, "You're really here." His gaze traveled through her eyes.
Daphne's voice shook only a little, "Did I worry you?"
Harry smiled weakly and he could feel her hands being cold.
Harry was confused why she came here, and why the room was empty, confused by the candle and mirror.
He looked around then back to her.
She was delighted as usual to see him. She tried briskly to stand cool, as she usually did. Even so, she breathed heavily and looked tired. What could possibly make her like this? It was then that he noticed the cuts on her arms, her delicate hands had blisters.
He stopped moving, and she wondered why.
"You seem tired." His voice was slightly concerned, and he couldn't hide it.
"What did you do?" he said, his face serious,as he took her both hands in his, gazing at the scars.
When she didn't reply avoiding his question he sighed tiredly.
"Come, you're freezing," Harry said gently, making her sit on the bed.
Daphne wanted to protest against his wishes, and against the desire that was rising within her body for meeting him.
She was submitted to him instantly like mostly she was.
"When I did not see you at the Hall, I was frustrated, thinking that Cyrus knew what you were up to," he said, sadness laced in his words.
Daphne swallowed, considering her words "he already knows that…"
Harry's eyes widened.
Harry and Daphne had just left the tattoo shop and they had been wondering in the streets, tangling their fingers to keep warmth.
Back to their first spot, the Eiffel Tower, looking at the iron building.
"I know what I should do," Daphne said, breaking the silence.
Harry turned to look at her and she at him.
Her cheeks were pink of the chilling air but her smile held enough warmth.
He raised a brow waiting for the rest of her speech.
"I will not come back after the end of the year!" she stated brightly.
"What!? Why?" Harry started to panic.
"I mean to the Greengrass," she giggled.
"Daphne–"
"Do not worry, I will not come to the order, not yet." she smirked.
"Is that so?" he replied back.
She nodded humming a happy tune.
"I will try to make something of myself, I will start from scratch, do not interrupt me," she raised a finger at him to stop him from meddling,"let me continue…
I will ask to end the adoption, I cannot take someone else's place, Astoria is the legal heir, everything is her right.
And I don't want to be a burden on you," she gazed back at the tower,
Harry was silenced, not because he had no words, it was because he was shocked, she still believes that she was a burden to him.
"You are not a burden," he said, tightening his fingers around hers, squeezing.
She smiled.
"I will make a bright future for you and me. For us…" 'I will make you proud of me,'
"What did you do?" he inquired , more firmly and full of worry.
It made Daphne's heart skitter. "I was having hard times," she said.
"Still, I was worried," he huffed.
Daphne was barely concentrating with him, because she was about to pass out of exhaustion.
The pain didn't disappear.
Harry felt that something was bothering her,and knew that something happened, he felt it for days, he wanted to hear it from her so he asked directly.
"I don't know where I should start, I must pray day and night thanking my brother and mother for everything." she said almost crying, she had a week of nightmares. She was ashamed, unable to look in his eye.
Harry held her face in his face, trying to make her look at him.
"Let it all out at once my laurel tree, I won't judge." he smiled at her.
"Promise?" she whispered, with teary eyes.
"Promise." he nodded.
She told him everything happened from the day she left Grimmauld to the mean time.
Daphne managed to dance around the subject in such a way that she didn't lie.
She just selectively left out the part about discovering the truth about Voldemort and her encounter with felt guilt, not telling the whole truth and she wondered how long the guilt would last.
If Harry knew that Cyrus planned for a union between Voldemort and her.
No if he knew that Voldemort was plotting this whole time to take advantage of her, knowing her real identity, it will distract Harry.
Harry became the light of her life and she would make sure to always be in his grace and love.
Harry's jaw clenched and his fists were twisting in his lap.
Daphne right now as she saw his face, she was afraid of him, of his reaction and what if the voices of her inner self were right about him.
She should feel guilty about her lie, she should feel awful.
But she didn't,the whole situation between her and Voldemort was still new to her,she was still in shock, how blind she could have been.
But no one should blame her, deep down and only her mirror knew how the last few years have been for her.
She hasn't healed yet.
"This man, did h-he try anything on you?" Harry asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
Daphne shook her head. "He may have tried to flirt and charm me but I wasn't fooled,"
He wanted to yell at her, how did she fall into such a trap.
Was the dream about her and this man real? Was he that snake bastard? It couldn't be him!
"It can not be him," he breathed out.
Harry was confused. He stood up, pacing around the room unable to think properly, his mind exploding of many theories and thoughts.
"What was his name? Why did you even let your guard down?" he yelled at her, making her jump.
"I, What? I didn't." she denied.
It was all wrong, she knew he had every right to yell.
But once she started the lie,she wouldn't stop until she finished it.
She wasn't protecting Voldemort by her lie,and she wasn't hurting Harry either.
She had decided after accepting the truth she discovered this morning to have all her cards first.
"Daphne, that man wasn't just your father's partner…" he jumped next to her.
She was biting her lip 'I know…' and for that she would search for the truth.
Voldemort has become her enemy.
"I saw it all," he said.
"What!?" Daphne's voice betrayed her and showed more than it should.
"The ball, I saw it… I thought it was a nightmare but it turned out to be real just like the others, what else it's happening," he rubbed his hair in a mess, he did it only when he was irritated.
Daphne's eyes widened at the new realization.
how foolish she was, Harry confirmed something, out of expectation.
He saw them, the ball… just like the incident with the snake and Arthur.
His magic was familiar to Harry's for a reason for sure, but what was the highest possibility for such a thing.
It couldn't be an Occlumency.
And not possessing of course that was out of question.
Unless…
'could it be?' there was only one suggestion she could think of,and it was a dangerous claim.
"...Tom Riddle," he said almost a whisper.
He slammed his fist on the mattress, 'fuck,' he kept muttering.
Daphne wished the ground to open and swallow her,for the new change of events, she parted her lips to say something.
And before she knew, she let out a hiss.
Harry turned around when he heard a faint voice, to find her holding her hands to her chest, with closed eyes.
He went to her and grasped her between his hands, to find her body extremely burning in heat.
She was breathing hard.
And for once he was frustrated, of what he should do.
She told him that it was a consequence of using magic a lot for her. Which was why he never asked her to use magic, he even observed how much she barely used it, none in class or outside it unless otherwise was necessary.
He remembered the scene when he entered the room.
She was focused on that mirror, while there was a candle. That she didn't even feel his presence.
Was she using magic?
He remembered when said that Cyrus knew what she was about to do.
He heard crack and found Dobby and winky by his side.
"Guys!?"
"Mr Harry, good evening," Winky said bowing.
They turned to Daphne and touched her forehead and sighed.
"Mistress !?Dobby!" she called.
Dobby asked Harry to lay her on the bed, and that they will treat her.
He just obeyed.
They seemed to know what they should do.
Winky was putting a wet cloth on Daphne's forehead and he could see the sweat falling down her face as she was breathing hard.
"What is going on? What's wrong with her?" Harry asked the two that were healing his wife.
They both turned to him, but both staring at each other,
Then Dobby stepped ahead and decided to talk.
"Mistress called us today, and said that she would need our aid by evening. When we asked her she replied 'Perhaps I won't be able to control my body for a while, if you find me unconscious, treat me with these medications…' ' Dobby finished handing him a bottle he was holding.
Harry didn't need to check to know that it was the treatment she usually takes for her health.
"Daphne gave you this when exactly?"
Since she didn't order the two to keep it secret they decided to speak.
"This afternoon Master, right after she landed in the Three Broomsticks down the Village," Winky said.
The Three Broomsticks ?
Why had she been there this afternoon? he glanced at her.
Avoiding the question,he nodded approving them to continue.
"Mistress has been staying in one of the rooms, she said not to wake her until the train arrives, she was exhausted and went to sleep right away! " Dobby gasped.
So Daphne didn't arrived with the students,
"How much magic she used could you tell?" Harry asked. His tone was full of seriousness.
"Well…" Twinky's eyes fell on the girl.
Harry didn't need the answer, as he was already filled with too much information already.
"Step aside, I will treat her…" he sighed, feeling a headache.
"But, Master!" both the elves snapped at the same time.
'you can heal her boy,' A voice said to him in the back of his head.
His emerald eyes blinked.
He remembered the voice,he heard it that night.
When they did it.
He heard it.
"Wait!" Winky was the one who snapped him.
She pointed with her tiny slimy fingers at Daphne's arms.
Harry followed her gaze and his eyes widened.
The scars were deeper and there was a burning showing on her skin.
Harry did not realize what had happened to him, all he wanted was to treat her.
He felt severe pain in his chest when he saw her in this condition, and the memories of their first quarrel came back to life, when she helped him despite the weakness of her body and how the well-known responded by shouting at her.
He did not realize at that time that despite her intelligence and cold appearance, she was weak and delicate in feeling and flesh, the only secret that no one else shares.
The true face of her ice.
How will he treat it, remember how she always caught him and treated him.
Yeah! He could do that.
'follow you instinct,'
'My instinct?' he asked.
'yeah, search for the magic within her...linked it with yours…'
"Guys! Leave," he asked as he gently lifted her hands.
They didn't disobey and left with a pop in the air.
He didn't know what to say or do,if she was awake she could tell him.
Here was the other thing about healing spells: they were apparently difficult to cast and rather powerful. Therefore they require a great deal of practice. Unfortunately, the only way to practice a healing spell was to actually try to heal something.
And for one thing to another,he never tried.
What kind of a man was he if he wasn't able to be present in distress and illness with it?
Life is not about good, health and blissfulness.
He will try and will do all his efforts.
His instinct told him to keep his focus on her
To keep his attention on her lungs, as they are more than affected by her current magic.
It asked him for the purity of his thought in order to cast the spell.
"Mistress is affected by the fire magic as it appears!" Winky said as she was sitting next to Dobby by the fire in the kitchen.
She stared at her in disbelief.
The aura of magic that was around their mistress was unusual for humans.
Winky's eyes widened and turned to Dobby's.
He seemed to acknowledge the magic since he was shaking too.
But when winky observed her master,he seemed not to realize it.
"Master..." Dobby whispered
"I'll be careful," Harry promised Daphne who was unconscious. "I know healing magic is dangerous and powerful, but I'll take it slowly."
His eyes turned to the painful look on Daphne, whatever she did,it turned on her.
Something caught his eyes.
The tattoo…
He wondered and smiled for the little inked art on her wrist, feeling warm in his chest.
He decided to drop off the subject and ask the girl about it later.
He swallowed his saliva and started to focus.
Harry's eyes slid close as his consciousness flowed along his magic,he reached out over her chest and started saying the words, just as the elves told him to.
Daphne felt reverberating through her body, into her magic network or energy of her body.
It took Harry a few minutes before he felt his magic emanating from her body.
He kept his eyes closed to feel a shiver before completing.
He didn't need to see,to feel.
He immediately knew that her body began to respond to his magic.
The same thunderbolt that he felt on their first night blew over him.
The sensation replayed a few times.
When he heard a slight sigh from her, he opened his eyes to her.
Color came back to her face, and her breath straightened.
He did not hesitate for a moment and began to inspect his dearest's body.
He touched her forehead, felt that her temperature had decreased significantly, and he moved to her arms to find them healed from those strange wounds.
He was scared as much as he was surprised. He did not expect it to succeed.
He read everything in his family's grimoire, and he even spent most of his nights reading most of the Black books.
Hermione's passion for reading started to influence him too.
He hadn't done anything like this before and hadn't expected a positive result.
However, his joy did not last after previous events returned to it,
His doubts about what Daphne was doing behind his back began to sting his thoughts.
How could he be calm when his enemy met his wife and tried to win her over, but he tried to marry her.
This is something out of the ordinary.
She denied that he was, but he had already realized the truth, and the question remains:
'Does Voldemort know who you are? Did he discover her relationship with me'
These questions popped up in his mind, to awe.
"I'm sorry," Daphne said in a eyes opened slowly.
Harry looked at her, even when she was in pain she kept apologizing and thinking about him.
"Rest…" he replied back, kissing her forehead.
Dumbledore was walking through the corridors when he met with Miss Granger returning from her patrol.
"Good evening Miss Granger, Patrolling?"
"Good evening, headmaster, I just finished," she replied smiling.
"Do you wish me to do something?" she suggested.
"In fact, I do Miss Granger," he paused scanning her for a second. "You see I'm afraid about Harry, my dear...and I was not always there this year, but I'm grateful that he has such a friend like you, well, even when I asked him he denied but never mind, I will not keep you, have nice dreams," he waved.
"Asked him what professor?" she asked, curious.
"I heard some rumours about him and you but he denied,"
"Oh Merlin! professor we are like brother and sister, there is nothing like this at all," she waved her hands in the air in panic
Dumbledore chuckled at her reaction, making her even more confused"Love is needed in the darkest time miss Granger," he said and left "perhaps miss Chang know better about it,"
Hermione raised a brow in wonder for the strange behaviour of the headmaster, she shrugged it off and entered the tower.
Rubbing her neck that was sore, her mind wondered what was Sirius doing in the meantime.
Her thoughts were cut by the figure near the fireplace in the common room.
"Ron,you haven't slept yet?" she asked as she went close to the red hair boy.
"I couldn't," he simply replied.
She looked around and back to him "where is Harry?"
He shrugged his shoulders"how should I know, since when do we know where he goes?" he said in almost irritation at the end.
Hermione blinked a few times and went to sit by his side on the floor, his gaze didn't move from the fire.
"What's wrong?" she asked softly, worried.
Ron snuggled his knees to his chest as he buried his face under his arms.
"Nothing," he mumbled.
"Ron…" she went closer, touching his shoulder for comfort"Are you okay?" It was a stupid question, really, but she didn't know how else to approach him.
Rather than pushing her away like he had done before, Ron shook his head. "No."
"Did you and Harry fight?"
"Fought?" Ron scuffed." Harry is barely around Hermione in case you didn't notice,"
"Ron!?" she gasped.
He turned to her with a flaming gaze."tell me Hermione why did dad have to die?" he asked ,his voice full of sorrow and his face changed into a painful look.
Hermione's eyes widened.
"Sorry," he mumbled, pulling away.
"You have nothing to be sorry about, Ron," Hermione said forcefully. "He was your father. You loved him."
Ron shook his head. "It's not that."
"..." Hermione said nothing letting him speak,it was the first time he opened up about it.
He was trying hard to look strong in front of his siblings and trying to care for his youngest sister while the others were busy.
Harry wasn't around after the tragic event, locking himself away from everyone.
She hasn't said anything about Harry's behaviour toward her back then,he apologized in the end and she forgiven him.
"I can't remember..." Ron's voice cracked as he felt a lump creep up in his throat. "I can't remember what was Dad last words to me were"
"It doesn't matter" Hermione tried to comfort him. "He was your father and all that matters is that he loved you and you loved him"
"He WAS my father!" Ron corrected her fiercely. "I just wish i remember what his last words to me were"
They sat in silence. The silence was not comfortable but more tension filled. The tension in the room felt like they had just had an argument and were now waiting for the other to apologize.
"I don't blame Harry but I can't stop thinking. Why did Harry witness it?Why did it happen in the first place? I sometimes think of horrible ideas like how while I lost a father Harry found one? Or why is it just us that we are stuck with the struggles of life," he rubbed his hair in a messy way, trying to not think of those bad ideas.
She turned around to make sure no one was hearing before she answered him" we still don't know why it happened but we can't stop thinking that your dad fell for the greatest cause, Harry didn't wish for this to happen either, but life is not all in pink," she managed to say, trying to comfort him .
Ron looked at her then tried to smile.
"I told you I'm not blaming!" he snapped.
Hermione fixed him with an angry look to remind him to behave then she sighed.
She wrapped her arms around his shoulders."It's okay, you can let it out…" she softly said.
She felt his body vibrating and smiled weakly knowing that he was crying.
"Why did Dad die?" he was saying between sobs, and Hermione was brushing his back with her hand to calm him.
After some time, he finally relaxed.
"Shall we go to sleep and continue our talk tomorrow? I'm still sore from our travel in that bloody bus," she pouted, trying to rub her back like an old hag.
Ron laughed, standing up and offering his hand to help her stand.
When they separated into their dorms, both of the best friends didn't realize that someone had heard everything.
Harry was standing in his invisible cloak at the entrance of the common room.
He felt his chest tightened as he saw and heard everything.
He was in a dilemma.
A sea without a reach.
He had a wife to keep her secret from everyone for dangerous reasons.
And a friend that his father paid for a war that hasn't started yet,all because he didn't warn Dumbledore earlier.
They could have saved Arthur.
But fate said otherwise.
His godfather in other hand is kept like a prisoner after all what happened to him, while the fucking traitor was free under protection of a dark lord.
And Dumbledore with the order on a side.
Harry was pulled by robe from each side.
He was choking.
She woke up feeling herself warmer, the sunlight from the window of the room of requirements was lighting the whole room.
But there was a silence.
The deem of the sunlight bothered her so she rested her new healed arm from the scars on her eyes,to prevent the light.
She let out a long tied sigh as she heard a pop.
"Morning Missy!" Dobby cheered.
Daphne didn't reply.
The other side of bed was cold and she knew Harry didn't stay with her.
"I brought your clothes, mistress!" he added when he heard no response he gulped.
Worried about her
She remembered the previous night and felt shame, for some unknown reasons she still couldn't understand why it backfired on her.
Harry treated her. that all she was able to remember.
The warmth of the cozy morning she was feeling digged more pain to her.
Harry didn't heal her as it appeared.
The boy has great powers of the forbidden fruit that he tasted.
He simply gave her a drop of his magic that was now leaking slowly from it's cage.
In a way, their magic now connected.
She gave him a key to open a door.
A door to everlasting power.
She hasn't mated him yet because it was the male's choice, but she gave him the fruit already. and she knew it would be a huge step...step with no return.
"...I'm fading Dobby," she mumbled, still hiding her eyes.
She wanted to deny, she still wanted to deny.
But she knew deep and within her. No matter what, she was fading away.
With time she would not be even able to cast a simple Leviosa.
The last one made her chuckle.
A pitying chuckle.
She withdrew her arm and glanced at the elf by the bed.
"You're scared of me," she said in a monotone voice.
Her face was as emotionless as ever.
She stood up, striping off her clothes to change.
"You don't have to get scared, you know," she said, fixing her tie.
She was about to say another thing to the elf when she heard the cracking voice.
"Do you hear that?" she asked him,her eyes shining.
And her smile brightened for a second.
Dobby flipped his ears in the air for the voice.
"It's the thunder mistress," he explained.
She turned her eyes to the window on the roof.
"And the weather suddenly changed…" she paused and smiled again "he is here,"
Dobby blinked a few times confused "who mistress?"
"Our head commander," she answered to herself with a smile.
Forgetting about the elf that was in her presence, who she left behind her in the room, she walked in slow pace to the second-floor girls' bathroom, cleaning her face for the day and straightening her hair just by a snap of finger to look straight.
"Have a great day to die Myrtle," she greeted through the mirror to the ghost of the bathroom.
"You look happier than usual," moaning Myrtle flighted to her side by the sink, checking on her.
"I do," she smirked to the ghost before departing on her way.
She walked through the corridors to meet the unexpected visitor of hers in the early morning.
Berz and Eva marched up the drive of the castle both in their knight uniforms, and no disguise.
Berz and Eva wear slight variations to their outfits.
Berz often wears a long dark blue coat with gold shoulder pads on it over a suit and tie, usually his uniform, a dark purple shirt and black tie.
Eva on the other hand has no tie and her shirt open,to show more of her body in confidence.
They walked through the halls of Hogwarts castle admiring the beauty,it wasn't Berz's first time, but it was to Eva.
Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she saw the students around the their young spiritual selves.
"Look at the young ones, commander ! they are so cute!" Eva said, nudging her commander with her elbow.
Berz nodded as they stepped through the entrance hall doors into the viaduct courtyard,
The boys kept staring at the new visitors,Eva wanted to play for a bit.
She glanced at the boys and winked at them.
As they walked the man turned his gaze to his vice "try to look more formal," he said in command.
The woman whined "No,I look much beautiful this way," she shrugged.
And the man decided not to bother or argue.
Professor McGonagall met them at the entrance hall and greeted them.
"Good morning Mr Carmichael! Why the sudden visit?" the professor asked.
"Missing my old friend,Minerva," Berz smiled down at her.
Professor McGonagall blushed and led the way.
Berz glanced at Eva which instantly took the hint and nodded back.
They made their way to the headmaster who was waiting in his office for them.
Or did they?
Daphne ran to the Chamber of Reception before anyone could ever see her, excited as much as afraid of the reason why the sudden visit of head command.
Since the building is used once in the year usually where Professor McGonagall makes the first year students wait before the Sorting ceremony and the Welcoming Feast.
She could feel the strong aura of magic inviting her only there.
Once she closed the door behind her.
She found a tall man in his dark blue coat standing with his back facing her.
She swallowed her saliva before she finally spoke"head commander," she bowed her head of respect to him.
And didn't dare to raise it until he finally turned to her.
When he finally turned to her with a hard gaze,Daphne stiffened for a second but he withdrew the emotion.
"My cub," he greeted her smiling.
Daphne's frustration all faded with a grin as she jumped to kiss his hand.
And he patted her head in return.
After seconds, she let her worries slip out "why the sudden visit!?".
He made sure to ward the place so no one would notice the whole existence of the two in the building before he goes into the topic of his visit.
"I felt Eva's magic too…" she tilted her head.
"I'm here for an official visit to Hogwarts and meet with the headmaster. We don't have much time, child. Eva briefly is using an illusion of myself while walking with McGonagall to the headmaster office," he explained looking around.
"I see…"
She was nervous about why he was here, perhaps for scolding her for using too much magic.
No
For burning the Greengrass manor.
No
For the way she was behaving lately.
Yes.
She let out a sigh of irritation.
He could sense her nervousness so he decided to talk and get over with it.
"Your brother…" he finally said, and her head raised to look at him.
"Ordered to bring the sanctities from the shrine of Mesopotamia. A decree was issued to start investigations into the terrorist's mysterious explosion in the village next to the shrine," he said with his hands behind his back.
Daphne's breaths hitched in her throat, frozen in her place.
She didn't move...
T-The sanctities? The explosion?
Her mind went blank and she felt herself surrounded in darkness.
'NO!' a scream waved in her ear.
'EL RAHMA!' (mercy!) Another scream.
'WAHESH!' (Monster!) And another.
'ARJOKI,LAAAAA!' (please,No!)a call of beg.
Her heart started to constrict for the flooding memories in her mind.
She closed her eyes firmly.
'Go away!' she yelled to the voices in despair, she refused to let it affect her anymore.
She was healing finally.
She had spent too much time in the torture of them.
"Rhaenys!" A faint call she heard a few times.
"Daphne!" A man yelled as he grasped her both shoulders firmly,to bring her back to reality.
She stared up at him with disbelief, slowly she took a deep breath and cleaned her mind.
He let go and backed away from her and she went to sit on the staircase.
Her hands dropped on her knees,as she leaned forward.
Not a womanly position.
After a few moments of heavy and silent air between them.
"Will there be a trial?" she murmured.
"No," he simply said.
Her mind was racing, but she was relieved for the absence of an unwanted audience.
"Good," she smiled "even in his death he find always a way to haunt me,"
Berz knew who she referred to,after all the madness that they are talking about, was caused by the last king.
Her father.
"How did you prevent a trial?" her question snapped him.
"I haven't," he paused "If the truth comes out–"
"We will lose the trust of people in our supremacy and authority,in other words «royal scandal» " she cut him off.
He nodded.
"And who will lead the investigation?" she asked.
"I volunteered,"
Daphne's eyes widened.
The revulsion she felt faded away slightly.
"So you're here to..?" she met his gaze.
"To take the first grimoire," he answered.
She frowned thoughtfully, and a pregnant pause between them passed before she let out a chuckle.
When the commander broke the news, she was at first in denial. and right after she saw that he wasn't fibbing in front of her or pranking her,he never jokes anyway.
The smell of ash and smoke blankets the halls of small manor.
Daphne Greengrass or the hidden heiress, had razed the chambers in fires. Everywhere he looked, Voldemort saw the burns ranging from minor to complete incineration. The building's walls were blackened by soot and smaller fires were still waiting to be extinguished.
He glanced at the owners of the place ,they seemed under shock of witnessing the complete chaos that the girl incited, nothing seemed to make sense anymore.
Making his way to her personal chambers, the destruction was worse.
He could not hold the smirk that appeared on his face.
'She is more interesting now.'
He could have wondered but his lifelong journey with magic of all kinds made him unsurprised.
Still he was disappointed by his minion and his wife for not keeping her under the best supervision.
He turned his face to them ,and the two lowered their heads in fear.
Well Cyrus's wife was afraid.
But the man's mind seemed somewhere else.
"Which one of you was the last to see her?" he demanded.
Eleanor stepped forward and replied to be the one.
"Very well,"
It didn't take a second to enter her mind and see the last encounter between them.
The talks and the action that was followed by Daphne before it happened.
His mind went back to their last conversation.
She had taken him unguarded and saw his true face.
He swore by his own life that he could see darkness in those icy eyes of hers.
The same darkness that lives within him.
Voldemort stepped out of the woman's mind, which caused her to lose balance and fell on the ground.
She knew what was coming, when she saw the dark lord move slowly away from her.
Not caring for the presence of her husband.
"My lord…" she said breathlessly.
He glanced down at her with an emotionless face.
"May my final wish be to spare my own daughter's life…" she said, meeting his eyes for the first time and the last time.
Voldemort said nothing, moments later he raised his wand in her direction, a burst of a green light came out and filled the room and a body fell on the grounds.
Lifeless…
He turned away without one glance behind him.
Nagini, his pet, begged him to let her eat the body but he hissed at her.
The only merciful thing to do for who was truly loyal to him all these years.
To let him bury his wife properly.
Cyrus didn't move, his eyes almost dead and empty of life.
He couldn't cry for his love, he couldn't protect her from his master and certainly he couldn't look at her lifeless body either.
Daphne's laugh finally died, flipping her hair over shoulders.
"Forgive my rudeness commander," she wiped her eyes from some laughing tears.
Then turned her full attention to him, back to serious topics.
She stood and walked toward him "the grimoire belongs to me, true... I committed a crime but I wasn't alone in that massacre, who will take the blame?I'm certain that the dead won't confess, and I certainly wasn't guilty," her eyes teared up but she refused to let a drop fall.
She looked at the scar on his right eye and felt her lips went dry.
That thing in his eyes was a living proof of what had happened that night, that it was real.
"I'm innocent of those crimes," she said breathlessly.
Another pause, and Berz found himself ready to make his mind.
"The grimoire belongs to the king," he said formly, causing her to gasp with frown."and yes you are not guilty but you participated,"
She frowned.
"The massacre happened four years ago for a reason that should not be discovered, even to Phobos," he pointed.
Daphne gulped as he talked, she said nothing letting him finish the talk.
"After now we will search for a solution to that issue." Berz said with a hard stare at her.
Daphne wasn't the contrary either.
"You will not interfere with this matter." he added." Nor you will be part of it either which is why the grimoire be with the other sanctities,"
"The sanctities belong to the original family, they belonged to our founder, and as I remember my brother is not one of the main family members, unless Vanya or I,no one could touch them."
"Your father was pure just as your mother, they were cousins in the end, Phobos has the right to claim them...The whole council approved!"
Daphne couldn't hold her breath or emotion any longer.
The whole council approved!? How dare they, even if the main seats of the council belonged to members from the family, they had no right to decide what was long settled by the olds.
Anger was rising within her.
"We cannot leave the state's future to the Supreme Council's decision!" she snapped.
But the hard gaze of the commander, reminding her to behave.
She lowered her eyes and blinked them in frustration and breathed to calm herself a bit "The state is dragged into the abyss and the eye sees." she added as she tried not to avert her eyes away.
Berz brows knitted and Daphne parted her lips,he was getting angry and she frowned.
She fears him for real.
The only man that could scare her to death, but out of her deepest respect to him was Berz.
"This state has reached one end of the abyss a lot... We have pulled it out and taken it out every time, praise be to God…" he paused, raised his palm to her " We do what we should... wait at school for a second order." he finished as he turned his back to her.
Waiting for her acceptance to reality.
Daphne was frowning deep down, last she wanted was this to come up suddenly again to her life again.
Her eyes lowered to the ground as she was thinking.
She bit her lip and closed her eyes firmly before finally making her mind.
"My mission is clear, Commander, and I will not stop until I finish it." she said at last ,with a tone full of confidence.
Straightening her back with all courage she could carry.
"I fight on my own against the demons if necessary…but the grimoire will remain with me," she added.
Berz turned to her with rage crossing his features,it roses inside him but he fought to keep it inside.
Daphne tried not to back down on her decision.
"It seems that you forgot, but the last time we left you on your own, you almost lost your soul, the grimoire would be the proof of your crime if you won't give it back" he replied firmly, his outrage seeping into his voice.
Daphne gasped at his reply.
How could he say that to her,he knew clearly how much it was painful for her to remember.
Eros left with her for she shall protect it and keep it away.
"as long as I command you you will not do anything. This matter overlooked you anymore…" he said as matter of fact.
Daphne gulped but her gaze was still on him.
"As long as the horse shepherd in this country does not order him to move, he will not be able to move." he stood proudly, with his all aura turning serious and scary.
Even for her.
"I am the commander of the knights of this state." his voice was more raged.
"And I am a daughter of this state!" she snapped angrily, her voice as firm as it's anger.
Berz's eyes widened at her response.
"Until today, I held your every command. And you always tried to keep me in the shadows. I cannot stay in the shadows and the state is burning anymore." she seethed, her hands were on fists.
"I'm thinking about what you should do and about this state. And I put my will on this matter as the Princess heiress," Daphne said as matter of fact.
"You exceed your limits Rhaenys!" Berz raised his voice higher.
Daphne's rage didn't seize even through the warning of Berz.
"I am thinking about what I should do, I separated from my family and married a complete stranger for the sake of the state...What I'm doing is not going beyond my bounds, but rather carrying out what is entirely my responsibility." she confessed, raising her brows.
"You cannot do that! You will not interfere in the issue of Mesopotamia nor will you interfere in the matter of Voldemort as well!" he pointed his index finger at her in a scolding way.
She blinked a few times, did he know about Voldemort?
"Don't think that I don't know what you are doing, I will overlook it this time, you will take care of the Greengrass mess that you started, and that's all,as for Voldemort it is your husband's affair not yours. Don't do anything." he said with authority.
"Is time, a time to contemplate the soul while the state is going out of our hands?" she said frowning."Who thinks about its soul to sleep on its bed comfortably."
Berz's face went red from rage and his eyes looked away but Daphne continued"I am inspired by my magic and my enemy is clear."
Berz's eyes was still not facing her as he said softly "For the sake of this country I raised you,"
Daphne's eyes softened at his reply.
"I trained you," he looked down at her with a proud look,a look of a teacher proud of a student.
Causing Daphne to feel shamed for receiving the treatment.
"I made you submit to the sword and the wand. You cannot do anything without ordering you, especially in this matter…"
Daphne knew she was defeated by him,but the matter is already out of her hands, she may not interfere with the Mesopotamia massacre.
But she was already involved with Voldemort.
Harry first was her husband,it was a matter of fact that she would stand by side in this problem and she believed that Berz knew that already.
"If you get me to grab the wand,I make my own." she said as was about to leave.
"You are a princess and someone's wife. You might become a lady of ladies and worthy one, you might become a queen…" he said to her.
Daphne stopped in her tracks.
"You're wrong, Daphne, throwing everything to danger,"
Daphne held her breath,he was right but she already made her decision.
"What you are doing is wasting all the efforts and sacrifices we have made to this day…"he paused "Things will not be as they were easily. We will not be able to do anything anymore…"
Daphne turned to him with a painful look.
"What is the importance of the Sultanate after the state is destroyed?" she said in anguish.
"I said my last words, my commander."
Berz didn't stop her knowing her very well.
"I will stay until the sun settles down," he said to her.
She nodded and left.
