Another new chapter of Dance of the Fates is here.. (~³)~
Previously on Dance of fates :
Harry's eyes frowned at his wife, "Part of me died that night Harry, Lilith returned, she is still tormenting me, because part of her is still within me…"
"She listens only to you,you are now the only one who can tame her. Keep her distracted for the next month, and don't let her leave the school grounds." Eva told Harry.
"What side are you truly on, Sir?" Harry breathed out to Snape.
"Mine," Snape answered, sincerely.
Voldemort nodded to Sam. "We have set the fear in Phobos, the head of demons, for our cause"
"There is no war in the world," Daphne said. "Just one rogue wizard."
"The Dark Lord stole dangerous weapons, keys to rule the world," Sirius said, not posing a question.
"That's why we need to commit to leaving for Iraq," Harry said even though he was the youngest of them
"If in the middle were hounds...There must be a huntsman, holding their collars...We need the huntsman personally," Phobos said, "Bring me Rhaenys," He turned and faced Putiphar.
Note : for those who seemed confused with the system of the royal family: The position of the Queen Mother is considered the most powerful position after the king, and she has the absolute power to control all matters of the palace without the king's permission.
Aunt Corvina is the oldest member of the family and is the sister of Cronus, Daphne's real father.

Chapter 27
Being born a wizard was easy. If you have one magical parent or ancestor, then congratulations! You are a wizard.
That's how it has worked since the existence of magic itself. It was all linked by blood that was running through a magical's veins.
But over the years, the claim of magic has been dominated by the Blood Purity system. Everyone had to fight for their place in the system.
People just forgot about the true purpose of the wondrous gift of Magic
It had never been about blood. Blood was hardly a deciding factor, else Muggleborns wouldn't have existed. It was always Nature; Both the purpose and the existence of Magic.
…
Harry could see flying monsters running in their direction from the moment they got out of the city.
DEMONS… Their mere existence was enough to somehow spread fear throughout the entire area. It was almost breathable in the surrounding air.
Despite being raised as a Muggle Christian in a Christian family, he had never been allowed to visit the church. But Harry had seen their depictions in textbooks.
Riding a giant silver fox with nine tails between the trees of the forest wasn't something that could be invisible. The giggles of the flying monsters behind them were getting louder as the demons approached their position
Kou stopped and turned to them. Harry and the others curled in his fur for protection.
Kou snarled and jumped at the nearest demon, biting it from neck, splitting to inches.
Harry could feel how exhausted the fox was. He couldn't allow the fox to fight for them all.
However, the fox acknowledged his thought and dropped him and his mates down on the floor. The demon gave them a slight bow and turned to his enemies, his hackles raised and a primal growl escaping his throat. With a loud cry,he jumped and attacked the nearest demon.
To Kou, he didn't need to do it twice. Finishing demons and hunting them was a sport to him for years, but the emerald eyed boy could not get injured.
Kou was distracted by the death of his friend. To him, Eva was a friend and a very old one who had accompanied him on his long journey within the high palace.
Besides her, no one actually knew the last queen, Diane. No one would understand her or her kids. Daphne needed Harry and Kou would do all he could to keep Daphne's husband safe and alive.
He remembered days ago when he was curious why Daphne had so much faith in the young boy.
From the age point of view as well as the friendship one, he could certainly say that Daphne was in love with her husband. But she had surprised him by accepting Harry's reckless mission to save her.
When he had questioned her, her reply was, "I'm not worried. It will be good training for him,"
She reminded him of her mother. When he was brought to the castle as a gift, she freed him.
Instead of keeping him by her side, she punished the Japanese minister for laying his hands on the Kitsune tribe. It was at that moment that he had vowed to stay by Diane's side. While she was gone, forever. Yet he could say with certainty that a part of Diane still lived on in her daughter.
Using his nine tails, he wrapped them around the demons and squeezed them till they exploded in a burst of dark smoke. But he was exhausted. Chasing some demons was easy. But there was an entire army of them.
Harry could not stand aside. He was a man of action and couldn't let the tired demon do everything on his own.
Remus and Sirius, who had also been looking over Harry's shoulder, paled as they heard the blood-curdling howl of demons.
Harry snapped out of his musings.
Focus, you dipshit! This is no time to think"' he insulted himself. "What can I do? Remember the rules, Harry!"
Harry closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. Nothing except calmness could be allowed to exist in such a situation. He remembered not to show emotions in danger. The enemy always sought to put fear within the person's heart and soul. If the fear consumes you, the defeat certainly would.
Harry remembered that and seized his breaths as he had learned. In and out. In and out. He repeated the cycle a few more times
"I hear it, the magic… We don't control it, we communicate with it,"
Harry's eyes snapped open as that memory appeared out of nowhere. He looked at his hands as the realization hit him. Could he use magic?
"Harrryyy...we are descendants of Hecate," Lily's words ringed in his very soul. A descendant of a goddess. The reminder filled him with a power that he had never experienced.
Suddenly, Harry felt no danger around him. He scanned the surrounding enemies with a quickness that would've astonished even the most experienced veterans.
He pulled his wand from the cloak and clenched it between his fingers.
"I can do that. I can communicate with magic. I am Hecate's descendant."
Remus caught that act and gasped, wondering what the hell was the boy thinking. They could not use magic around the area.
'How can I communicate with magic?' he suddenly asked himself. Should he talk? Was that the solution?
There was no problem about asking. He closed his eyes and focused as if he was in a deep trance.
"I want to save my friends, my family. I have to help my wife and defeat these foul creatures. Help me, please…" Harry tried, pulling everything that he was feeling into those words.
For several times, he kept trying.
There was no answer. But he desperately kept asking repeatedly. When he heard a loud growl of pain coming out of Kou, He turned to see a demon holding one of the tails with its sharp claws. The black eyes of the demon looked straight at him and the scary, ugly face of it.
The bastard was cackling madly, smiling and enjoying the kitsune's pain.
Harry felt anger surge through him as he pointed his wand towards the demon.
He felt as his veins were lighter and cold water was running through them, straight to the wand on his hand.
With a quick breath, he screamed out, "Relashio!"
The light rushed towards the demon, pushing it away from the injured fox.
Kou saw a flash pass in front of him. The boy that he was supposed to protect was actually the one shielding him.
'Impossible! That boy…could use magic!' Kou gasped in surprise.
The demons stopped in mid-air, looking at their companion flying in the air.
Harry blinked as he looked down at his wand.
He could feel the eyes of Sirius and Remus. Who could blame them? He himself was stunned.
Hope and courage returned to Harry's heart again. He thanked the magic for granting him his wish and gathered his bravery all at once, looking up at the ugly creatures with challenging eyes.
The demons returned to chase them again, and Kou used his speed to escape. Trying to gain a position of advantage now that they had some more firepower.
Harry turned to Kou and leaned to his ear and whispered despite the difficulty. It was like riding a giant horse, not a dragon.
"Kou, could you seize your speed a bit, so I can fight?" He asked the demon gently.
The fox thought about it for a moment. It could cause him to get injured but perhaps it would help save them all. He nodded his head at Harry, receiving a murmur of thanks from the boy.
"This kid is weird. His spirit is still bright,' Kou thought.
Harry told the others to switch with him as he climbed to the back of the fox, positioning himself near the tails.
He tried using the banishing spell once again, but the demons avoided it easily, dancing around it in the air.
"Fuck!" Harry cursed. Those things were smart.
In an instant, those demons vanished in the air. But their giggles kept playing around them from all directions.
In a flash, balls of fire were thrown and blocked Kou's path, making him stop in their tracks. They became surrounded by fire.
The laughs disappeared but Harry felt something was terribly wrong. He and Kou suddenly felt a sharp feeling coming from above them.
They both looked up only to see something different from demons.
"Are those…" Harry murmured.
"Gargoyles!" Remus gasped.
"Shit…" Sirius spit.
"RUN!" Harry yelled at Kou.
Kou jumped between the flames and Gargoyles followed them with their Wings.
One appeared right next to Remus ready to snatch him from the shoulders.
"Bombarda Maxima,
The spell hit the gargoyle right in the middle, pushing it a sizable distance from them. Not a moment later, another tried the same with Sirius too. Harry counted the nearest flying ugly granite creatures as an idea popped into his mind.
"Bombarda Maxima, Confringo, Soporo
Harry fired three different blasting spells towards their hunters as they tried to escape..
"We can't fight them," Sirius shouted, attracting his attention.
"I KNOW!" Harry snapped at him. Needless to say, things were not going well. And he was the only one who could fight them with Magic.
He rested his back against the fur of Kou, thinking of something.
"Close your eyes, everyone. Lumos Solem" Harry incantated the spell with a profound vigour. The flare of light almost blinded everyone. Most of the Gargoyles screeched as they collided with each other. However, they wouldn't stay down for long.
The young man stood up and rushed towards the battle.
"HARRY!" they both shouted
"I WILL BUY YOU SOME TIME!" he yelled before running towards the enemy. After all, he was the only one capable of using magic at the moment. He also had managed to injure or stun quite a lot of them. They had a chance right now.
Both Sirius and Remus were about to jump after him, But Kou wrapped his tails around them. This effectively stopped them from doing whatever foolish thing they wanted to do
"FUCK OFF, HARRY!" Sirius shouted as he kept hitting the tail with his fist
Kou barely moved as he kept running, he was already wounded but somehow he himself put faith in Harry, feeling him capable of handling the situation for some time
'Sing for me,' a voice said in the back of his head.
Harry followed it and kept listening "How?" he asked.
'Like you always did, child,' the voice said.
He gathered a thought, Daphne once told him, whatever he was fighting a losing battle. He closed himself from the outside world and imagined himself hearing instead of clashes, a song. Any song he loved.
Better than fearing the enemy, he would dance with them on the drums of war.
"I don't know," he said as he kept throwing blasting curses left and right. Some of these spells were clearly dark arts and yet, he barely managed to evade them all.
He gathered a thought. Daphne had once told him, whatever, he was fighting a losing battle. He should close himself to the outside world and imagine himself hearing instead of clashes, a song. Any song he loved.
Better than fearing the enemy, he would dance with them on the drums of war.
His heart suddenly gave a sharp and hard beat, he felt his body tightening and all the blood in him felt like liquid magma running through his veins.
Suddenly his whole body spasmed with the force of a bomb. A scream tore out of his throat and he collapsed to the floor, shaking in agony. It was pain beyond anything he'd ever known.
Nothing, nothing had ever hurt this much! He was blind and deaf to everything around him except the violent pulses that slammed into every corner of his body every few seconds.
With the burning, melting feeling of his bones, Harry was sure that he would die from this!
This body-mutilating pain could lead to no other result! It took literally every ounce of sheer willpower he possessed not to be thrown from his body into the world of unconsciousness.
He feared if he did, he'd never wake up again, and end up breaking his promise to Daphne before it had even begun.
At last... belatedly... he realized too much time had passed in silence from the last bone-shattering spasm. Miraculously, Harry had managed to remain conscious throughout the whole ordeal, though just barely. He wondered if the magic had finished working or if he was being too optimistic and would be treated to the second round of misery.
He looked up at the demons and without even knowing in the blink of an eye, the entire army of monsters had run away.
He did not understand what had happened. So he tried to listen around here and there but as if the evil laughs disappeared out of blue. Harry decided to take the chance and retreat back.
It was cold, and rainy by the night. They had escaped the demons and had to rest. It was very dangerous and Kou was tired and wounded. On their way back to the temple, Harry found out that he could seek asylum in the temple, being the Princess's husband.
It had begun raining earlier that night with a light sprinkle. As midnight passed, so did the rain and it slowly got heavier and heavier until it was a straight downpour.
They decided to rest for a while until the fox that protected them could gather his energy again.
Hours passed and the night started to disappear. It was cold but the cloaks kept them warm. The group hadn't slept for more than 24h, they needed some time off. Remus decided to take over the first watch.
Harry rested his back against a tree and buried his nose in his cloak and decided to close his eyes a bit.
The absence of his glasses made a difference. He felt weird without feeling a heavy object on his nose.
The previous battle kept playing over his mind.
He was capable of using magic but what happened to him returned for a second. His entire body felt as if it awakened for a second before he returned back to his sleep. All the energy drained from his body.
Daphne entered the throne room after eight long years; she didn't even bother to attend the funeral of her father two years ago.
The castle's smell had changed.
She didn't expect as soon as she landed outside Hogwarts and specifically at the gates of London that leads to the castle, to find herself surrounded by knights asking her to hang herself. She didn't disobey and followed them without making any scene. Of course, she cast some nasty insults here and there but nothing to worry about. After all, she knew that they had been waiting for her.
And it was the only way to enter the castle without breaking the security and causing chaos. Those days were over.
Now she stood before her family, head held high, though her expression was solemn. The possibility that had been running through her mind long before they had arrived in the castle has evolved into a fully-formed plan.
And now she intends on divulging the details to the only person who can set things right. The plan isn't original by any means. But Daphne's own collaboration will expedite the process a great deal—this much she knows.
She caught the presence of Aurelia, Corvina, Argan and Potiphar and finally, the one sitting on the throne. Her half brother.
She never thought that the fates would play on her odds, and she would return to this damned place of her own free will. The place which had caused her an incurable wound, the place where her mother shed countless tears, where her sister was murdered, the place where her brother was betrayed and where she was tormented before she escaped.
She didn't bow to her brother
"Wasn't the fire that you set in our homes enough, Phobos!–" and instead, Daphne said, by way of opening, cutting through all the useless niceties and polite inquiries that their conversation has no time for.
"Are you capturing me too now!"
"I ask the questions and you will justify them." Phobos pointed out with full authority.
"How clear you are from the blood of the ruling family," Corvina said, " Your tongue works like a sword. But this is not the time to draw the sword."
Daphne glanced at her coolly "Long time no see Aunty. It seems that you're as charming as ever,"
"You are responsible for all the rebels. Decorate your words and actions accordingly." Corvina pinched her nose in the air.
There was a heavy and pregnant silence in the air.
"They deliberately attacked our pride in the middle of the city of our throne, the traces of your seal appeared on them," Phobos mentioned.
"I said it before and I will say it again. I have nothing to do with these fools. We are brave and honourable and we do not fight with that inferiority. We are more honourable to deny our actions." She said, anger filling her voice.
Corvina gave her unconvinced stare, while Potiphar shot her angry stare.
"If you will capture me, capture me. And if you're going to kill me, kill me now." She moved one step closer "There is no need for such slanders."
"Know your limits!" Phobos snapped, standing up from his throne, everyone stiffened at the loud voice of the king.
It had been many years since Rhaenys appeared in the Palace. Her arrival at that place had caused quite a spectacle at the place.
"If you are still free, that is my generosity...This one in front of you is not your level but is King. How will you explain the presence of your blood blade in place?"
Daphne bit her inner chick, she needed to think wisely of her next words, so she said "I came voluntarily so as not to create difficulty. And I told my men not to follow me. But the Death Eaters are not from them, but rather provocateurs who pointed the finger of accusation at me. So much so that I want to punish them myself, your majesty."
"If you want, hand me the apple of confession, to tell the truth,"
"She doesn't have the case to order before the king, perhaps saying no as a sign. And because the attack failed, she tries to throw the guilt off her." Aurelia finally spoke.
Daphne rolled her eyes. She was surprised that the queen mother didn't throw insults at her the moment she had entered the room
"Calm yourself, don't let her mock you," Daphne told herself.
"Because Princess Rhaenys is free from the royal family, all remaining rebels regard her as the chief. Her presence will always give them courage." Argai said.
"It was proven that the princess was not involved'' By Eva's testimony before her death. But as for the theft, the matter is still unclear." Potiphar finally spoke.
He turned, at last, to see her, her brother in law and cousin that she hasn't seen in nine years, since the wedding with her sister.
His voice brought her back to reality
"—The issue is bigger than the rebels and the princess. She's an important member of the family and heiress to our most important states. It will affect the state horribly." He said, his face stoic, eyeing the king.
"And the arm that will be cut off is one of the arms of the ruling family. You have to make the decision wisely, your majesty…"
Phobos looked at Potiphar sharply, while the man stayed calm. Phobos walked toward Daphne at a steady pace. "I want one thing from you to save your soul: Honesty."
"If you had anything to do with the assassination, CONFESS!," he said as his guards pushed Daphne on her knees in front of the King.
"Take charge of your slander for my soul be the actions of cowards...kill me. It wasn't our fault. My rebel brother fell and our house was scattered. I stayed alone. They wanted to drag me to the rebels, but I did not allow it. Even if I was angry with you, I did nothing wrong and came so that the blood of the brothers would not be shed...Guilt on your neck." She said, without a hint of fear in her eyes despite the situation.
Their eyes met and Phobos grasped his blood blade and put it over Daphne's shoulder.
Daphne clenched her eyes tightly, feeling her blood burning alongside her magic.
Aurelia never thought she would see this day, hiding her enjoyment was tormenting her soul. There in front of her, the rebellious girl of the family was on her knees in front of her son.
Everyone looked down avoiding the scene.
He was absorbing magic from her, Phobos eyes hooded, while he felt his blade feeding on his sister's magic. So he pulled it and put it back in its sheath.
She didn't have the time to react, when she felt a large and cold hand, wrapping its finger around her neck, pulling her up. She could no longer feel her feet touching the ground anymore.
At that moment Daphne felt him in her head. Trying to probe her thoughts, to see inside. Fury burned deep inside her gut, he had no right to come into her head.
" Stay out of my head." She whispered in a deadly voice. Something flew across the room and smashed behind Aurelia and the small table behind Argai rose.
Both Argai and Potiphar prepared to fight, but Corvina gestured them to stop.
She was relaxed, staring at the half-siblings, she could see the blood veins of Daphne's appear all over her skin in a dark colour.
"Stay out of my head." She said again as more objects began to rise.
Phobos tightened his grasp around her neck and she felt unable to breathe.
The room rumbled from the sheer power that was erupting from the king.
The fire was burning Daphne from the inside and the air around her disappeared.
She tried to look down at him and gasped at the look. His ice-blue eyes were shining yellow instead as he smirked.
She could feel her veins appear on her skin. Her face darkened as she struggled due to lack of air.
Suddenly Phobos sighed and dropped her, like dropping a plate.
Daphne fell, her hands were the only thing that kept her face from kissing the floor. Gasping for air.
"I had to show you death to believe you… It was clarified that Princess Rhaenys had nothing to do with the assassination because of the evidence. Because of that, I am issuing an arrest warrant for all the rebels. This is my command to do the necessary, if you are innocent, so are they. If they are not involved in the assassination, and if they are involved, the council will decide the punishment." He walked away from her.
She turned to look at him,
"For you...Rhaenys, if you want to avenge your brother Eros, those who rebel do not survive, and those who are saved will enter the administration of the new regime. You will stay here until the case is closed." He looked over his shoulder, leaving the throne room.
Daphne stared at the floor, hearing him leaving.
A guard came and grasped her from the arm and pulled her to her feet.
"Take her to her room and don't let her out," the Queen mother said.
"I prefer my old room, I won't sleep on any other, stepmother," she said, normally as if nothing happened a few moments ago.
"Sleep where I chose or the dungeons," she replied bitterly.
"Ah, she's using her threats," she laughed as the guard dragged her out "Hey watch out! I can walk perfectly fine by myself. Apparently, you're new here…"
The rest watched her as she walked out of the throne room, insulting the guards.
"What's the name of the girl who just came out, Aurelia?" Corvina asked, calmly.
"Why this question all of a sudden?" Confused Aurelia asked.
"The girl is the King's sister, a King's daughter, and a King's granddaughter. Next time, don't you speak to her like that again in my presence. You will never be happy." Corvina replied, with a tone that promised revenge if the action were repeated,
Aurelia could feel the threat filling it. She took a sharp breath, feeling anger at the insulation.
However as Daphne was walking through the halls of the castle, the voices of the past didn't let her alone. They kept ringing in her ear.
Lilith laughed at her weakness. She kept babbling about how her brother kicked her arse.
Okay. Daphne really felt her pride whipping the floor, he really made a great show in front of the family. What a family reunion to remember…
She glimpsed Healer Yan Lin coming in her direction 'Shit!'
"Look! Who's back...The troublemaker. Why are you here ?" Yan Lin sneered.
Daphne rolled her eyes, and smiled "No welcome home? I'm sad. Well... I'm here to clear the false claims," Daphne rubbed her neck.
Yan Lin's eyes followed Daphne's hands and noticed the dark purple bruised neck.
"Did his majesty cause that?"
"Kind of,"
"You deserve it," the woman commented, coldly.
"Hey, I'm a princess, show some respect!" Daphne half snapped.
"There is another reason," she whispered.
Silence hovered over them, and Daphne glanced at the guards from the corner of her eye.
Daphne pretended that she overstepped and fell on Yan Lin.
Yan Lin's eyes widened when she felt Daphne putting something in her pocket.
"Sorry, the cloak makes it difficult to walk," the blonde witch apologized to the healer. Walking past her, Daphne whispered
"I had the trouble and almost killed to have it,"
Yan Lin started with a gaped mouth at the young witch. Touching the vial in her pocket.
The night was gone and the day was at its beginning.
They had lost the trail of Snape in the rain and had to slow their pace down a lot to continue on. As darkness fell on the forest the group of marauders and the kitsune came to a stop.
No one talked. No one moved for the longest time.
Off in the distance, a light sprang to life. By the way, the light flickered and dimmed spontaneously, it was a fire to do one of two things; draw them in for a trap or to simply have the life and warmth of the fire.
Not only was the fire something that could save a person's life at a cold time like this, but it was also a great way to cook and dry yourself off from a long day in the rain.
The group moved slowly towards the light. Like a moth to a candle, they went. Never turning or losing sight of the firelight. They stopped at the edge of the clearing at the foot of the mound of rocks. The fire was built on a large dry area of rock, which just happened to be under a large outcrop of rock.
They could see their target sitting with his back against the rock, his eyes closed as he rested. The group moved forward slowly.
"What should we do?" Sirius whispered.
"We can't just attack," Remus sighed.
They all eyed each other, Harry saw from the distance the fox still, sitting in his place.
They could not rely on him, nor could they fight, because of demons around them.
But why would Snape suddenly be so defenceless, resting as if he was sure he was safe.
Something wasn't right and Harry was worried if there was more than just the two Death Eaters around.
Remus couldn't smell him with the rain distorting all the senses of a werewolf.
"I will talk to him," Harry suddenly said, calmly.
The two marauders' eyes widened and glanced at the boy.
They split up into two groups. One of them was going to the top of the rock outcrop, and the other two going left and right straight to the target.
Who was thinking about a way out of the inferno? He had been on the run ever since that attack. The screams of the city civilians still hunting his ears.
He opened his eyes and saw a figure standing just outside of the encampment. Steams of rain fell between them.
"You really made it difficult for us to locate you, both of you," Harry said, glancing at the sleepy form of Rudolphous Lestrange.
Harry extended a hand slowly and gestured for them that he came at peace. He remained standing after he motioned for his potion professor to sit and be comfortable.
Harry felt the warmth of the fire wash over him.
And told himself to remain calm, 'Remember the rules of negotiations,' he reminded himself.
"I was wondering where you guys had disappeared to. I thought I had almost lost you." Harry spoke, perhaps his voice seemed colder. Perhaps his mask prevented the professor from seeing the smile on his face.
Snape tried to remain emotionless and calm. "I was not attending to make myself noticed," the man said, sneering a bit.
Harry sat on the ground, crossed legs and looked with cool eyes at the professor.
His emerald eyes shined even more by the firelight.
Snape wanted more than to ask if it was truly the Potter boy. Glancing by the corner of his eye at Lestrange and cursing himself for the man's injury. "What do you want?" He sneered.
There was a heavy and pregnant silence but the sound of fire flames, burning the wood.
Harry reached up and removed his hood to let the warmth of the fire warm his checks. The night was really cold. He massaged the back of his neck feeling some soreness from the previous activities and dropped a sigh.
"Give me the box, Professor Snape," he eyed him "and I assure you. Nothing will happen,"
Snape didn't respond, he just sat up a little more and made himself a little more comfortable.
"Go ahead and get the others down from the rock. I bet they are soaked straight down to the bone. I don't want them to catch a cold or anything." He said with an even bigger smirk.
Neither Harry nor the others moved to get him.
They had been listening and had come down to get out of the rain just after Snape had said that.
"Snivellus, You are not in the circumstances to drop jokes," Sirius said as he removed his hood. Snape had been right, They were completely soaked through.
Snape had to admit that he was shocked to see not just Sirius but also Remus, so his guess was right, it was Harry Potter.
But why was he here?
'How did he leave school? Did Dumbledore send him here?' Snape asked himself.
No, Dumbledore did not know about the mission, it was secret information.
Who would leak it, was there someone else within the ranks of Death Eaters who worked for Dumbledore?
"Okay, I believe it is about time to head home and face things like a man." He said. Now Remus' hood had been removed and a look of shock was etched on his face.
"You see, I have grown tired of running, and I don't want to fight anymore," Sirius said.
Snape needed to think of a plan. If some death eater arrived, or worse if Rudolphous was awake and listened to the conversation, everything he worked to build it would be wasted away." I'm afraid, I can't do that," he said, standing up, dusting off the dirt.
When he was about to reach for his pocket. Harry grasped him from the wrist and stood inches from him, even If the man was taller than him. He would care less for that.
He killed innocent Aurors just because of this blood spy in front of him, and worst of that, worst of that, this man…
Harry bit his lip, thinking of the news he had heard during the run.
This man, who saw him as an irritating professor who bossed him and bullied him over the years, killed the woman that was close to his wife. A woman that was like a best friend, a sister and a mother to her. Another person in her life just died.
The image in his mind about Daphne's reaction to that, she would be in pain.
"Give. Me. The box... please," he said, with a dangerous and venomous voice. Harry prepared himself already for a fight the moment he stepped within the camp.
They both stared at each other with heated stares.
Before any one of them could react, someone else threw a knife at Harry.
Thankfully for the cloak, it didn't come through and it wounded him either. Snape moved away as they both turned to the source of the aim. Using a small movement, Snape sent a small kick into Harry's stomach
The marauders in flash hid their figures as they saw Rudolphous awake and was the attacker.
Harry wasn't ready for the faint attack. But he didn't fall on the ground either.
He tried to be polite, he tried to have a civil chat.
Could this day be any worse? Harry wondered
It didn't take long until the battle became between just two people, Snape against Potter.
It had happened so fast in Sirius's mind… In a blink of an eye, the people started slaughtering each other.
It was a massacre. Everyone started killing each other and the group had to leave the burning city into the forest.
They fought demons and gargoyles and finally as they reached Snape.
Covered in a cloak of blood Harry rushed towards Snape with the clear intent to kill. A Blood that wasn't his. There was no stopping him. Sirius was standing behind just looking at the scene.
The boy who lived. No the boy who killed, who had to grow before his own time, raised out his sword and ran towards Snape to fight him. Both came so close to each other, Snape was ready to attack him but Harry… He did not even look towards him. His eyes were on Rodolphus Lestrange.
"Oi!" Sirius screamed.
Harry gave him a stare in his eyes. Padfoot understood that Harry was not going to harm Snape but he needed to bring them down. As soon as he looked forward,
It was a battlefield and it was killed or be killed.
And he managed himself pretty well…
A man was sitting a few meters away, watching the events that were taking place. He was laughing at the little play. They had no clue as to what was about to happen. The man tried to warn Snape, but the man just ignored him.
As the man watched he saw the death eater act out his little plan. He didn't know what or when the other boy would attack, but it would be fun to watch.
Harry punched Snape right in his face, it didn't take long for him to win the battle.
"What do you mean you don't have it?" Harry sneered, his face was still covered by the mask.
"They took it from us!" Snape snapped.
"WHO!?"
"T-The Knights…" he gasped.
Kou's eyes widened at the name.
He and Harry shared a glance, Harry wondered what was going on?
Was this all a trap?
A distraction. By whom?
"Kay, Stop your going to kill him!" Remus stepped between Harry and Snape
Kou was stunned. He didn't expect the boy to be that furious. As soon as he told him about Eva's death, he raged. He threw it all on the death eater.
Kou was stunned, the boy barely knew the woman and he did that. they were not even that close. He sighed, feeling some headache and Harry cursed, looking away.
Harry shot a glance at the companion of the potion master. He started to regain more consciousness, there was no time left.
He felt someone watching him and apparently as he shot a glance at the demon fox. The latter nodded assuring his suspicions.
He came very close to Snape's face and whispered, "Just leave," then let go of him.
He pretended that he lost his focus, helping Snape to escape alongside the other death eater.
Snape punched Harry, making him fall to the ground, and ran away.
"Why did you let him run away?" Sirius snapped.
"Let them. We don't need them anymore," Harry sighed, sitting on the ground, resting one hand on his knee.
"We need to return then," Kou said, walking toward him.
"We wasted time here," Sirius groaned.
Harry was silent, looking in the direction of the fugitives.
Did he fail? Something was off...Harry didn't like that, something was off, if the knight caught them, they should have killed them immediately.
Why did they let them live?
"Oi, where are you going?" Sirius called.
"I need to call Daphne…" he turned away, taking out of his pocket a phone, searching for a signal in the forest.
"I'm afraid you can't…" Kou murmured, finally the demon gained energy to talk in his demon form.
Harry raised his brow, confused. But the boring long stare he received from the demon was enough for him to understand the message.
He walked to Kou, then clapping in the back was heard.
Harry saw a man standing, wearing a long scarlet robe, walking toward him, with other men behind him
"Bravo! I dare say it was an entertaining show," he smiled.
Kou sneered dangerously at the man and Harry realized that the fox knew him.
When Daphne arrived at her old wing, she inhaled the scent of the chamber. it was smelling of dust and wood, the maids were apparently abounding cleaning the rooms for so long…
But it felt nostalgic, she knew the guards were standing right outside the chambers, casting wards around so she could not leave unless they were alerted.
Walking to open the windows, she saw the maids cleaning right behind her.
Knowing her stepmother, the woman would prefer to let her sleep with the pigs than here.
Once they finished their job, something that didn't take longer than ten minutes, she waited for them to leave before she sat on the sofa
With a hiss of pain, she took out her black leather gloves.
She looked down at the burned arms of hers. They had healed but not entirely.
Daphne sighed. It was going to be a long night for her.
Taking the wine bottle in her hand and analysing it in case some poison was mixed inside, she took a sip from the bottle.
When Daphne finished class, she didn't feel like returning to the dorm, so she went to the forbidden forest and knelt on the ground to scratch the ears of the three silver pups that had come out of the bush to greet her.
When Daphne had settled beneath a tree, the pups curled on her lap, watching the sky.
Daphne liked being close to them like this, it felt like family, and she missed her family terribly. Mostly Harry…
She was tired just by making illusions of Sirius and Remus all alone…
Dobby joined the party, giving Daphne a mug of tea to clear her mind. She stayed that way all evening until the bomb fell on her peaceful time.
Winky appeared in front of her and told her that Pansy caught a member of the DA who turned out to be Marietta Edgecombe and was going to take her to Umbridge.
Pansy Parkinson wanted to get the list of the members of DA from that Daphne burned but when she found nothing she decided to turn to the girl that Daphne was talking with before.
By knowing the ice Queen, her circle of friends was limited and she never communicated with a Ravenclaw
Daphne ordered Dobby to go and warn the DA, to leave the room at once. While she rushed to the DADA office unfortunately to be so late.
Marietta had already spilt the beans and told Umbridge that a secret meeting was happening on the 7th floor and Umbridge along with her inquisitorial squad went up there to catch the DA in the act…
Of course, Daphne cursed her lack of fortune at the mere moment…
Following the pink old hag with her snakes from behind, waiting until she saw them standing right in front of the doors that lead into the room of requirements, she bit her lip until she bled from anger and hid behind a wall, only to see what was happening.
Umbridge decided to break the wall and went straight for the action.
Hermione alongside the DA was still trapped inside.
She felt confused if she should let them, they didn't matter to her as long as Harry wasn't there but she also couldn't let them feel the wrath of that bitch either.
In that, she decided what to do and closed her eyes for a moment just so she could control her magic enough.
As soon as she heard the wall crumble and fall, Daphne raised a barrier between Umbridge and DADA.
Hermione who was pale, and Ron who wrapped his hand around hers to support her, the other students right behind them, looked straight at the woman.
Hermione moved to talk with her but when she saw the confusion on the woman's face, she started scolding Flinch and Parkinson for the false information.
This shocked her as she viewed the scene in front of them.
The woman left muttering between her lips for wasting her time, dragging defeated Parkinson behind.
And Hermione moved forward to find herself facing a barrier. No, it was some kind of ward.
She turned to her friends who didn't seem to understand, looking at each other, thinking one or another did that.
Daphne slid down on the floor as she breathed in relief. This would be the last time that she had saved those stupid kids.
She felt liquid falling down her nose and thought it was just her nose dripping from the sudden change in the air as she was outside in school clothes despite the extreme cold in January.
In addition to running back to the castle, making her sweat quickly, this led to all this trouble.
She took out a handkerchief to wipe her nose until she found specks of blood staining the tissue. She touched her runny or stuffy nose only to find it leaking blood.
Leaving in a hurry to the nearest bathroom, in a panic to wash her face.
The blood didn't stop, cursing over and over from panic.
Winky appeared to her and started treating her mistress, the only thing that the Vasilian princess and Potter's wife felt right now was, that she needed to go to the Astronomy Tower
"I need to pray,' she admitted.
Her feet worked on their own as her soul guided her to the tower.
Evening and the sky as dark as her dress she stood praying to her God, praying for her husband's safety in his holy mission to bring back what the founder of her family entrusted her with.
'Take my magic if it has to, but let him come back safe,' she would say to God.
Fate worked funny, she had within her, a piece of Satan's wife's soul and she was a witch, yet she prayed to God.
She felt once again like a hopeless princess stuck in the tower while her charming knight tried to rescue her.
She doesn't know how long she has been standing there, motionless.
"You've been here for several hours."
Daphne's eyes slowly opened, yet she remained motionless. Her icy orbs centred on the sky directly in front of her as her expression remained blank.
"And you've been observing me for just as long." She replied back.
Hermione Granger stood several feet behind the girl as she stared at her. She was quiet for a moment before responding quietly.
"A safe haven?" She searched quietly.
Daphne was quiet for several moments as she stared at the dark sky before responding slowly.
"Did he ask you to watch over me?"
The girl responded quietly as she strode closer. "Consider it a favour."
"You do not strike me as a woman who does things out of the graciousness of their heart."
Despite how condescending the statement sounded, Daphne meant no disrespect.
Hermione understood what the witch meant and came to stop directly beside her. "You'd be correct." She responded back simply.
"And the reason you are here?" She questioned just as easily.
Hermione was silent for several minutes as she stared at the sky that she looked up to every time she felt too small.
"I want to thank you for earlier…"
Daphne raised a brow but Granger gave her a look of 'I know it was you,'
"Don't get used to it… I am not a charity box," she waved her hair.
"I wasn't intending to,"
There was a silent moment but Daphne's curiosity killed her, "Since when did you know?"
"Perhaps from the beginning... or when he rejected Cho…" she sighed, then she dropped the bomb " Have you shagged yet?"
Daphne blinked at the bluntness of the Gryffindor and shot her a look. Hermione shrugged "I'm not that strict,"
"It is none of your business," Daphne muttered, by the way, Daphne analyzed the girl's answer, she does not know what type of relationship she and Harry have, or else she would kill Harry when he returns.
After a heavy pause.
"You are too harsh on yourself." Hermione finally stated.
Whatever Daphne had expected Granger to say, it was most certainly not that.
She blinked silently before finally tearing her gaze away from the sky. Her pale blue eyes stared into Hermione's mismatched eyes for a moment before she responded. Harry trusted this girl a lot, and honestly, without her, he couldn't manage that far either.
Even though she was a Muggle-born, she improved herself to be better than a pureblood
Despite her stubbornness and like to show off a lot, which was what made Daphne hate her.
She wanted to tell her in the middle of class and tell her to keep it to herself, none of them wanted her wide philosophy about knowing everything.
This was why she agreed on a lot with Professor Snape. The man never showed what he knows and knows not. Snape was her favourite teacher for as long as she attended this school.
"I, solely, am responsible for the suffering that plagued this world. My selfish desires snuffed out the lives of the innocent, the pure, and the wicked." Her gaze hardened as she glared into the girl's eyes. "Whatever 'advice' you have for me, keep to yourself. 'I will forever live with this burden and knowledge! I do not deserve this second chance! I do not deserve happiness!' She wanted to say an octave higher as her magic began to leak out angrily.
'I DESERVE NOTHING!' she yelled at herself, she was pained by her surroundings. Her inability.
The immediate surroundings, sans for Hermione, were instantly reduced to dust and ash. Her wave of anger had quite literally torn the earth asunder.
She could hear Lilith's laughter in the back of her mind.
Hermione tried to weather the woman's outburst with a straight face, not intimidated or worried in the slightest.
"And yet, Harry believes otherwise." She stated simply. Or else why would he prefer you over Cho, Hermione wanted to add.
Before Daphne could respond a warm and calming aura settled in the area followed by a bright aura.
And caused all dusted and destroyed items to return to their primal form.
Daphne sighed, feeling her sense returned.
"Granger whatever you know, keep it to yourself," she said, returning to her cold, cool facade. "Consider yourself lucky to be his best friend or I will obliviate you," she threatened her.
Her peace didn't last after the Gryffindor left when she felt a pull on her magic, a whisper in her bone, telling her that Eva left the world of the living.
She would lie if she said to others she was alright because deep down she lost another part of her soul. Not just that, she wanted to scream and kill, destroy.
She wanted to destroy it, and she wouldn't be able to breathe if she didn't do that.
Daphne leaned down on the sofa and sighed tiredly. Harry surprised her by telling Granger. But it was not clearly unexpected. How long could he hold the secret within himself?
He truly loves that girl like a sister… who was she to blame him… perhaps the two of them had more in common than just brain.
Later that night, she knew that Eva died. Her anger lasted longer than she expected. With a fake smile on her face, like the snake she was, approached her prey with no sound and wrapped her arm around the Malfoy heir.
She called him in what was like three in the morning and when he arrived "Draco darling, would you like to accompany me?" She said, smoothly.
"S-Sure, why not, " he smirked.
And the prey fell in the trap.
She dragged him to the Umbridge office and with no knocking Daphne crashed the office.
"Daphne, what are you doing?" Draco asked, puzzled and hesitated.
She turned to him and smiled cooly, "Arranging some mess,"
That smile made Draco's throat dry.
"How dare you enter my office like that!" Umbridge burst.
"Ah I forgot about you," she said, dumbfounded.
'Do we punish her?' Lilith asked, happy.
'Yes but all the time, haste makes waste,' Daphne told her.
"Listen here young lady, your behaviour, also that of Mister Malfoy is unacceptable!"
Daphne threw her head back and exhaled, she smiled.
"Sit,"
"Excuse me!" Umbridge said.
"Sit."
"I'd really rather not." The minister's employee groaned as she seated back on her office chair across Daphne with no choice of her own.
Once sitting, she turned to look at the elegant blonde
'Concilium, The imposition of one's will on another.' Lilith sighed in pleasure, talking about the power her descendant had just used.
Draco wanted to leave, somehow it felt that something bad was about to happen as he reached the door to leave. The door refused to open.
His eyes widened and he let out a soundless gasp. Feeling as if something was wrapped around him. He turned his attention to the two women only to find Daphne sitting opposite Umbridge.
"I told you to stay in peace, didn't I tell you?" Daphne leaned her head against the back of her hand.
"You're mistaking your place here Miss Greengrass. I'm your teacher I can put you in detention for insulting and disobeying one," Umbridge smiled that provocative smile of hers.
Daphne patience was wearing thin " You are right. I deserve one, and I will do it right now," she said.
Umbridge blinked, suspiciously. Then turned to Malfoy.
"Shall we?" Umbridge smiled and gave a parchment and quill to Daphne.
Daphne lifted the thing in her hand and pointed at the paper, she always imagined the day that she would face the punishment and smiled.
"Of course," Umbridge smirked.
"Professor Umbridge!" Daphne called, unfortunately for the lady in pink, she had no idea that the question that the blonde would ask next, would be her newest nightmare.
"Do you want me to write for you?" She asked innocently, her eyes fluttering.
Umbridge's wicked grin only widened that it almost reached her eyes as the toad nodded "Yes, dear,*
"What do you wish me to write for you?"
Umbridge thought for a second then said "Never disobey the orders,"
"Very well…"
Daphne put the quill on the parchment and started writing.
Draco of course was puzzled. Daphne was writing her punishment, shouldn't she hiss in pain.
But instead, the teacher was the one hissing in pain, Umbridge paled as she saw faint words appear on the back of her head.
'What was going on? It was supposed to appear on the girl's hand!' she yelled in her mind.
Feeling fire in her hand. "Did the quill lose its purpose? It had never happened before."
"Stop it!" Umbridge stood and reached for the quill, but sat down again as quickly as she had risen.
"Sit," Daphne repeated, her voice slightly raised.
"As your teacher and a Ministry Employee, I Command you to stop!" She yelled.
But Daphne stayed emotionless. "Command me? And who are you to command me…"
"Mister Malfoy stop her!'' she called him, desperately.
Draco wanted to move but could not. Not that Daphne cast anything on him but he was stunned. His housemate was torturing her teacher.
Umbridge, as scared as she was, turned to her cats on the wall for them to call for help but it ended when she saw all of them shattering suddenly and falling to pieces on the ground.
Watching Daphne again who smirked while keeping on writing. Umbridge's body started to shake in fear "Why are you doing this, you are a cruel witch." Umbridge hissed. Feeling tears of pain in her eyes.
"More than you know." Daphne almost whispered unnervingly, before a mischievous curl of her lips.
"Just, stop it, please!" she spat, punctuating each word. Then begging
Daphne after a moment she dropped her quill "Alright!" Daphne drawled, standing from her chair to move around to the side of the old woman's position before crouching beside her.
"If you didn't try to disturb the peace of school, there wouldn't be an issue now, would there?" Umbridge looked down at her hands, scared. "Aw, don't get all scared of me now!"
Daphne breathed into Umbridge's ear before sauntering in her impossible shoes to the tea tray to make tea.
Umbridge sat in silence that was broken by the bitter-sweet vocalization of her tormentor from behind her. "I didn't want to use this way either, Dolores," she started, clearly enjoying the situation.
"Why you keep pretending this, is it because of your mother and brother, "
The sound of that word from Daphne's mouth was enough to drive Umbridge insane. She shifted in her seat again and bit her lip. Feeling tears and anger. Daphne appeared close behind her, startling her.
"Yet here you are, whatever you do you will always be her daughter, his sister," She placed a cup of tea in front of Umbridge and held it there until she reluctantly took it from her.
She walked to Draco and chuckled to herself. Umbridge steadied her breathing and took a large mouthful of tea, all the while ignoring the blonde before her. Daphne watched in fascination as Umbridge drained the last of her cup.
"Oh, Dolores," The sensuality of her voice had not escaped her, "Sweet Dreams"
Umbridge finally looked up from the cup before dropping it and fell right in her face unconscious, "Sometimes you just need a stiff drink." Daphne found herself relaxing almost instantly, which was clearly the intention.
"Now," Daphne leant forward, putting a hand on Draco's back, he stiffened the moment her hand touched him "why don't you call daddy for me?"
Draco moved slowly in fear to the fire and called the Malfoy manor when his mother's face appeared, he smiled weakly as he glanced from the corner of his eye at the girl that was in front of him, resting her side against the fireplace.
Digging a hole in him with her cold eyes.
When Lucius Malfoy finally appeared. Daphne shot a look at the boy and mentally used telekinesis, pushing him to the chair by the office. Draco tried to raise from the chair to find himself unable to move as if there were some invisible robes around his body, she drew with her finger to her lip in a sign of silence.
As Draco tried to talk he couldn't.
When she heard the sudden shouting of Lucius, she faced the fireplace.
"Greetings Lord Malfoy,"
"Miss Greengrass?" Lucius was confused.
It's her highness to you," Daphne corrected him.
Lucius brows knitted in frustration, he schooled his features into an expression of calm.
"What does Her Highness desire from me at such a time?"
"Summon your lord," she demanded.
Draco shifted in his place, feeling sweat drop from his face, he glanced at the sleepy teacher then at the girl who just talked to his dad with authority.
"M-My lord? Miss I mean your highness, I don't specifically understand what you are aiming for?" Lucius stuttered.
Daphne was tired from this play, Malfoy knew, she didn't need clues or words to prove that.
The ball was proof for that.
"I told you to call my fiance, or else…" she tilted her head in the direction of Draco who was fighting to free himself.
"Careful… Time is passing,"
Lucius disappeared from the fires and Daphne relaxed a bit, hearing some movement in the back, she turned to Draco.
Who was trying to talk to her "Oh, daddy dearest didn't tell you? Well..." she jumped to his side and walked behind him, massaging his shoulders. Draco flinched the moment her hands touched his body.
"I'm to be wed to the strongest dark wizard of Britain," Daphne smiled slightly, leaning to his shoulder.
She moved to the cabin next to the tea tray and poured some fire whiskey into her glass.
Looking at it, she admitted that she was drinking a lot lately.
But her body was already immune from any poisons.
The flames burst again from the fireplace and another snakehead appeared on it.
"Little one," he called her.
"Darling" she greeted, cheerful.
Voldemort tilted his head. "To what do I owe this call...at three in the morning,"
"Emmm, let's see, to congratulate you, honey, you played well," Daphne smiled slightly, "I have to admit; the bullets, that was brilliant."
Daphne sat on the edge of the chair next to the fireplace, looking at him intensely.
"Don't waste my time, girl…" He smirked
"Don't think for a moment that you are the only one that can play this game… Just like the poison, I'm sure you have the counterpart, give it to me," she directed with no openings.
"Or else the next generation of purebloods will be eliminated from the world of living tonight."
Voldemort however was looking for something in the girl's voice, words, face to show she was lying. Finding nothing, He laughed loudly, and sighed. "I refuse."
"Are you sure?" Daphne chuckled slightly, "very well, you have one hour exactly to bring me the antidote or by the dawn…" she gave a side glance at the kidnapped blond boy with her.
"Do what you desire for all I care," Voldemort finished the call.
Daphne stood again. This man infuriated her beyond anything she had ever known. Taking a few steps, she spun around again lifting her fingers. 'Who should I start with first?' she thought to herself then she remembered the girl that has been harassing her for days and the way she humiliated her a few days ago, nothing better than revenge from Pansy for raising her hand at Daphne. She snapped her fingers.
Draco shook his head in confusion.
She gave him a look and waved his wand at him, removing the silencing spell.
"You talked to You-Know-Who!... Ho–Why are you so cruel?"
"I'm not cruel; I'm honest." The blonde looked back at him.
She pushed Umbridge off her chair and sat back down on it instead, putting her legs on the table. "You infuriate me." She finally sighed, frustrated with herself as much as the boy. She sat up a little and reached for the cigarettes she stole from Tracey.
Lighting one, with no wand or lighter. She offered one to Draco, who declined. The irony of the situation wasn't addressed. It wasn't her first time taking a cigarette, her best friend at Hogwarts was a fine smoker, and the latter passed the habit to her.
Eva herself was a smoker, Daphne smiled at that.
Searching in the drawers of the teacher, she should learn better wards and spells, they were too weak.
Draco looked around for a way out. He was stunned he did not understand anything that happened minutes ago.
"Who are you, Daphne?" He managed to ask.
Daphne gave him a bored glance before she exhaled the smoke "An enemy, a dangerous enemy…"
'What are you doing girl?'
Daphne turned her back to Draco as she saw her hands burning.
'I'm trying to save the commander, that's what I'm doing,' Hiding her hands with gloves.
The burns obviously were because of the chaos that was happening at the dorm of girls.
After all, they all woke up to the screaming of Pansy Parkinson as she saw her hands burn in flames.
McGonagall and Pomfrey tried to turn it off, until Dumbledore himself appeared.
Now watching the girl sleeping in the hospital wing.
"What is going on, Albus?" Minerva said, scared.
Dumbledore could feel thick and dark magic in the air but couldn't locate where it was coming from.
"I don't know… where is Professor Umbridge," he wondered.
"You are right, she won't miss something like that…"
Dumbledore was tired. He lost an important student and Sirius hadn't returned yet to Grimmauld and now a girl suddenly almost got burned alive.
Voldemort was sitting on a chair while Narcissa kept begging with tears at his feet for her son's life.
Voldemort knew better than to give the girl what she wanted.
She was scared, but he liked that.
Not long after that, the flames appeared again, it was Lucius Malfoy.
"Mis— your highness, please let go of my child…" he asked.
"I said what I want, and don't you dare to do anything behind my back...or he will die," Daphne said.
"Your hi— " Lucius was cut off and another face appeared again.
Daphne knew that he couldn't let this go. If he didn't help Malfoy he would lose his most important sponsor.
"I will give it to you but with one condition," Voldemort said.
When Daphne did not reply he continued "Your Blood…"
Daphne scoffed in frustration, before deciding it was time to prove a point. " Alright, in exchange for it, hand me, Pettigrew,"
Voldemort barely reacted " Now why would someone like you want that rat?" he demanded, suspiciously.
"So rumour has it, he is alive!" She explained, raising both brows in awe and mocking scuff.
Voldemort blinked slowly and closed the call.
"We will wait till then," Daphne said and sat on the floor, next to Draco, resting her back on sleepy Umbridge.
Closing her eyes a bit, she hasn't slept for a long time. And the effect is killing her of her magic, her recklessness would make her pay triple for this night to go. The only good thing about her, is her ice facade, even in pain, even if she may die no one would even notice.
She doesn't want to use a friend as bait, especially someone that she finally started to warm up to, she felt more sorry for the boy, because he got caught in this mischievous, treacherous game.
The tempest of the time comes and goes.
Daphne prepared everything to leave and wore her favourite black outfit, she was after all leaving the school. This time perhaps she may never return.
She almost laughed at the sudden changes in her life. So many pages were getting closed.
Now after the end of the time, she gave it to the Malfoys.
She stood on the edge of black lake Wearing a broad stringent cape with a double-breasted coat and sharp shoulders to serve as a reliable armour for the imposed Daphne fragility. The X-shaped belt perfectly emphasized the waist and "suspenders" became an important detail.
Even in the most dangerous times, she loved to always have the perfect attire.
Sometimes she thinks if one day she dies, at least she will go all flawless and elegant.
By the edge of the Black lake, Daphne was staring at the sky. It was a grey overcast day. How strangely fateful.
Tick tack tock
The pendulum dances in full cycle.
It was already morning.
She closed her eyes to feel the breeze caressing her cheeks. What a fresh breeze it was, seeming to refresh all her sense
She turned slowly and stared down, there was no turning back after this step.
Draco Malfoy was chained to a chair right on the edge of the black lake.
She ran her hands through his soft hair and gave a sad sigh. Down his face, till they landed on his shoulders. And bent down to the level that their noses were touching.
"Don't blame me for this, my friend, I love you and you know that," she said with sympathy glittering in her eyes.
Draco's brows knitted, he shook his head despite his inability to talk, As if he was trying to say don't do it, please.
"—but blame your parents who didn't love you enough," she finished coolly, her eyes empty of any spirit and emotion.
Draco's eyes widened as he felt suddenly pushed back. It felt as if time slowed and a second turned to an hour. The gravity took him unguarded as he sank underwater.
Draco's last Vision was Daphne's figure on top of the water.
Daphne threw Draco Malfoy from the edge of the black lake in an attempt to kill him. While she looked down at the fallen boy to the lake, one last glance while he drowned.
"Such a sad way for a pure wizard to die," she murmured before she turned on her way.
"Goodbye! Friend," she murmured, sadness visible in her eyes, just for a flick moment.
What a dramatic way to end their friendship...
Walking through the gates of Hogwarts, she saw Narcissa Malfoy running in her direction.
"Where is he? Where is my boy," she said to her with a hard breath as she gave her the bottle of the antidote.
"I heard humans can't hold longer than two minutes of breath, I wonder if it is the same to wizards… you will find him at the lake," she didn't finish her talk as the Malfoy parents ran to their son.
Daphne did not need more to know about what happened to them after all, she found a way to kill people without using magic.
If Draco died, he died because of his parents, not because of her.
She stared at the ceiling above her, at the chandelier, covered in candles, now extinguished. She was tired and weak, her magic was unbalanced.
Outside, she listened as the guards switched every few minutes, moving across the old marble floors with constant repetition. The wind howled, as it always did. The courtyard was now quiet but would liven with sound and activity in a few minutes.
There was a sudden noise at the door, and she sighed, sure that the maids had returned for her. The ward jangled, and the door fell open. She closed her eyes, listening as the door was shut quietly.
She heard no voice but instead. Someone reached her.
"Your highness," he said, his voice barely a whisper.
At the new, strange voice, her eyes opened wide, Her eyes focused on the man, and after a brief pause.
"Sam?" She said,
He unsheathed the dagger at his hip.
"What is happening, what are you doing?" she asked furiously,
"We have to move fast, and be very quiet."
"Why?"
"The king summoned the executioners of hell for you," he said.
She crossed one knee over the other, and refused to leave, feeling curious.
"Why should I believe your words and trust you?"
Sam paused for a second, only trying to solve the problem they now faced. He was ordered to kidnap her from the castle and bring her to Voldemort.
He looked around the room.
"Would you rather die like Afrahim?" he asked.
She stood, remembering the traitor who sold information about their weapon deals, he was killed in his sleep by hell hounds.
They both froze, as they heard footsteps outside the room. But they passed, and she sighed.
"We have to go, right now," Sam said, urgency in his voice.
"The guards are changing," she said, concerned.
"Aye. It's our window," he said.
"Oh gods." she whimpered, looking at him.
He tugged her arm, and this time, she went, following him to the door. He was counting mentally, and she watched his lips move as he timed the window between the two guards changing duty.
Sam was fast. With the door opening, it was only two steps to the guard. Before the guard could react, move for his weapon, or even open his mouth to shout, Sam took his time and opened a secret door, and told her to grasp a portkey.
"No!" Daphne said as they ran in one of the secret gates.
"It's nice to see you Sam, but I can't run, I need to have the sanctities with me," she said softly, and he laughed.
"Will you help me?" she sputtered, looking up at his eyes.
"To Iraq then," she said, a matter of fact.
"No," he said. He stood, offering her a hand. She looked up at him, puzzled, and then her eyes widened.
"Oh Sam," she said, letting him help her up. "So we're both running?"
"Princess, come," he said, pulling her along. "We have a lot to talk about."
In Iraq, Harry faced the Leader of Knights there.
"Do I know you?" Harry asked.
"Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Argai Vasilia. Answer the next three questions.
Who are you?
Why were you after the sanctities?
And how can you use magic?"
The man with ugly cropped blonde hair asked him in rapid fire.
'Vasilia!' Harry caught up.
He felt men in black surrounding them from the sides.
"And apparently you have by your side one of us," Argai said as he shot a glance at the demon fox.
"We were trying to stop the bad people around," Harry replied, carefully, avoiding the questions.
The man in front of him knows Kou, which means he was part of the castle crew.
"You served us well, then," Argai smirked.
Harry knew that if they made one wrong move, it was their doom, so he grasped his Wand slowly, and before he could throw a hex, he was grasped from behind. Pushing him to his knees.
"Let's see who's under the mask," Argai moved to Harry, holding his blade ready to behead Harry while reaching with his hand to the boy's face.
But Harry was calm, not afraid of anything because he felt it.
She was there and he smiled.
Argai noticed that and took it as an offence.
Daphne looked down at the scene from the cliff, Harry was on his knees, while Argai was just about to pass his sentence.
Anger, rage, madness… Many names puzzle out her feelings at the scene.
With no more thinking. She took an arrow and put her magic within it and shot it down, right between the two men.
The arrow whizzed through the air, heading straight for the intended ground between her husband and cousin. It sliced through the ground.
Harry stood stunned, staring where a foot of an arrow shaft stuck into the ground.
Argai shifted his gaze to the cliff that the arrow came from, with a serious and Dangerous expression 'Rhaenys,' he greeted her with his eyes.
'Hello, cousin,' she said, entering the scene in her usual elegant manner.
