Previously on Dance of fates:
"The Dark Lord stole dangerous weapons, keys to rule the world," Sirius said, not posing a question.
"That's why we need to commit to leaving for Iraq," Harry said even though he was the youngest of them.
"If you will capture me, capture me. And if you're going to kill me, kill me now." Daphne moved one step closer to her half brother, "There is no need for such slanders.
"We must celebrate for you Dragonslayer!"
"my father offered my body to bring back Lilith… Part of her still lives within me… So I cursed myself… If I used my magic on anything containing spirit, it would backfire on me whatever was good or bad, if I kill one more soul, I would be stripped by magic for good, it would be the perfect solution to destroy Lilith," Daphne admitted.

Chapter 31
While everyone waited for the final word of Dumbledore.
The doors of the hall opened, they all gasped and stood up, making noise in the court. Harry himself couldn't hold his own gasp.
Head commander Berz made his way through the crowd. The man cared less, his eyes kept looking forward.
He sat next to Daphne and the two did not glance or talk to each other.
Daphne's mind was elsewhere, her troubled sleep, and the nightmares gave her a bad headache.
What had she done?
No, no, no! This was all wrong! Everything had gone down a completely wrong road!
Daphne closed her eyes in defeat as she fidgeted around in the arms of one overly pleased Chronos. What was wrong? How did she end up …
She wanted to scream out in frustration. How could she do this? How could she ...
Chronos was there, hovering over her, knife in hand, inflicting the pain again and again. Hot, searing pain. The knife went deeper and deeper with every movement she made against her skin. She felt herself sinking, the world disappearing from her grasp. Just as she was about to give up hope, give up on life, let her father win, she heard him. She heard him calling her name. And as he called out for her, the pain from each swipe of the knife lessened.
"Daphne! It's okay, I'm here. Shhhh! It's okay."
Daphne's eyes sprung open. Kou was there, sitting on the edge of her bed. He was stroking her face, pushing the mess of hair from her sweat covered brow.
"It's okay, it's over."
Her lips trembled and tears hovered in her eyes, the same nightmare again, ever since she came to the palace.
"H..it was him again," she cried as Kou pushed himself to her side.
"Even the dreamless sleep potion wouldn't work," Kou said.
Daphne quietly sobbed and nodded her head. She wished the potion had worked, but Yan Lin and Astrid had said that sometimes dreams were too powerful and nothing could stop the dreamer from seeing them over and over again.
As she calmed down, Kou let her fall gently back onto her pillows.
"Okay now?"
She gave him a watery smile and nodded. "Harry?"
"Don't worry, he hasn't heard you,"
Daphne heard Berz give his statement without any lies, not big or small, just truth.
And Harry on the other side of the hall wondered, what made this man confess everything about Argai? One of the children he raised and trained.
The judgement was against the rebellious cousin: stripped of magic and sentenced to life imprisonment in a solar prison within one the largest Sahara of the earth; in the north of Africa.
Unfortunately, as Dumbledore declared the final judgement, Argai laughed at his face.
"I'm just the intro my dears, the real terror is soon about to happen," Argai smirked at Dumbledore's face.
The warlock didn't flinch but instead darted his eyes away as he stood up, and for a moment Harry thought that the headmaster glanced at him.
The young man left the great hall in rush, avoiding any glance back, afraid that Dumbledore may find him.
His fear to be found by the headmaster was bigger than his fear to be found by Voldemort.
He forgot completely about the others.
later that day,
Harry watched Daphne as she hummed, listening to the fairies singing in the garden, she told him a few stories about them, while Dobby feed her, she was not moving each in her body to recover faster, now that the sacred trusts were back to the right place and preparations for the celebration were all seen to, she has the time again, to breath.
He sat in the chair next to hers, a cup of goblin wine resting against his temple as his eyes follow her peaceful smile curl with each tone, and he felt the sense of calm washing over him he always felt when watching his wife read, sometimes she read to him when he wants to listen to the stories of their world.
They learnt to look without looking, to touch without touching, to speak without speaking.
And Harry learned how to want without wanting.
"You have been spending a lot of time here in the head commander's solar I suppose." She said while Dobby gave her another spoon of soup.
"He is good man,"
"That is enough Dobby thank you." She waved the elf off.
"Why was he here?"
"He was telling me what is happening in Hogwarts, Weaslette has been crying over Granger's shoulder saying your name for hours. The poor girl believes you run with your lover, or worst dead!" she laughed.
"You're spying on my friends now? And don't call her that!" he groaned, protectively about Ginny.
Daphne raised a brow, bored. "I'm only watching what's happening,"
After some silent and pregnant pause. She sighed, "You barely look anymore," she whispered mostly to herself but Harry did not need to hear to acknowledge the agony in her.
She was behaving that negatively ever since she woke up, accusing him of bad thoughts. Lies that kept playing over her head,
That she was no longer beautiful, healthier or stronger.
That she was not enough. And no matter what he says, she doesn't believe him. "That's not true...Why- was it like this? It wasn't? So don't overthink about it, this is not like last time, You are not Lilith," he assured. the forbidden was out.
"No, last time I wasn't in control and I woke up in a bath of blood, muggle blood." She eyed him.
"But au contraire, demons are not people, they are made of fire just like me." she chuckled.
"You are human," he breathed out. Daphne smiled at his protest, "Well half-human but you know what it means..."
Harry stood up and passed around the room and slammed back in his chair.
"How do you see the castle? Is Hogwarts better than it ?" She teased him. Trying to change the subject.
"There are no moving stairs, it's rather hard to get lost here," he smiled, finally. "I like the fairies a bit," he added, Daphne gasped at him.
"You should try to see the glass garden in the tower of joy. The view is magnificent. From the balcony, you could see the entire place surrounded by sky." She looked at the window.
"Ah! I crossed paths with your aunt, she seemed to be in a foul mood this morning," Harry noted. " She shouted at me,"
Daphne laughed at that and despite the other thoughts on his mind, the sound made him smile.
He heard that Phobos decided to throw a festival in honour of the sacred trusts. The festival was meant To honour the lives of the fallen, and over the ancestors by presenting the sacred trusts to the world. A solemn ceremony to remember the history.
From the first lit torch in the early hours of the morning until dusk, the air was solemn.
"That's one way to put it," Daphne agreed. She looked at her husband with a smile. "to be fair, aunty wants me to demand during the celebration my claim over northern lands..."
Harry's smile turned to a frown, the king loved celebrations and within the short time of knowing him, Harry saw his only good side. But to his wife demanding a land! No ...Lands! Harry considered this fact, Berz told him that the heroic act to bring the holy treasures back home would not be free, and The king would mostly ask for their wishes during the event.
Berz has expressed his concerns about Daphne's desire to take her land, by her birthright, from her brother. The old man asked him to make her change her mind.
He quotes the saying," if She takes them, it will get worse, perhaps Corvina would be a better choice for the lands."
Harry could understand the meaning. He saw for himself what could happen with Daphne.
It is a serious threat...
Daphne was still smiling as she looked down to her lap and Harry resumed just watching her. He needed to speak with her about his decision to leave and go to Egypt to the void. He had found it hard, of course, he was relieved that her family welcomed her, he even thought perhaps he could leave her with them during his trip but he promised to protect her, from her family. And yet, he found that he has to do just that. It's the very last thing he wanted to do, but he can't see another way. If he doesn't go to the void and meet whatever he could there, and learn the truth.
Now that he's thinking of it, maybe he should have Sirius write to Hermione At least to ensure her that he was alright, she must have been worried, for her to be the only one who knew where he was going, he realised long ago that she discovered his attraction to a certain blonde after he rejected Cho but she never wanted details nor she asked either which it was appreciated. Perhaps if he seeks some advice from her it wouldn't be a problem.
Through Winky or Dobby.
And how would he tell Daphne and get her thoughts on it all, but right now, he just wanted to be with her and leave the rest of the world outside their door for a few hours. He will talk with her, of course, just not now. Her mind conflicted.
Between right and wrong.
"And are you going to do as she asked?" Harry returned to the subject. Trying to read her moves.
"I don't know, but perhaps it's a good idea," she drew her arms to him, so he could help by massaging them for her.
Harry helped her Stretching, practising on her legs; preparing her to walk. The last sleep's effect would end in the next 24 hours and she was starting to move her arms and legs, hardly.
He went to her, helping her move from the chair to the bedroom.
"It looks like I'm showing a baby its first steps," Harry joked. "Don't panic, you're doing okay,"
Sitting her back into the bed, helping her lay down.
After what seemed forever of silence, him gazing at her, he noticed her biting her lip, fighting whatever was in her mind.
She finally spoke, "If I take the northern lands, you won't need Dumbledore's support…" Harry's eyes widened at her words, was that what was bothering her all this time? "I will have the armies and you will lead them, and together we will get rid of the dark forces that are clouding on us." She suggested. Are her cheeks red with embarrassment or hope?
Harry frowned, if there was a trap in her question, just like she loved sometimes to use riddles to get the correct response out of him. But if it wasn't what path of words should he pick. His mind or his heart.
"No! I never married you for power and you know that…" he did not reply with an answer but a reminder instead.
"You married me to free Sirius." She corrected
Harry could feel his jaw clenching for that. Why was she so negative suddenly?
"That was the deal, wasn't it? Sirius is having his justice but what about yours, your parents, Cedric and everyone' can have it by taking my claim," she continued.
Harry looked at his lap unable to reply, she was giving him a very tempting offer, he could have armies of Aurors under his command, Potiphar's image appeared on his mind. The man was a leader but he was strong, he had a leader aura around him.
He saw how his men respect him.
"If Voldemort wants to take my land, he needs to take it from me first."
"I love you, never doubt it," he said.
Daphne smiled and lifted her head again to meet his eyes. "okay! Too much romance gave me a headache!" Daphne tilted her head aside, closing her eyes tightly.
Harry's heart brightened and laughed at the action, he forgot how they joke when they can.
Daphne opened one eye and beamed at him, then she cleared her throat,"... Which reminds me once I recover, Fully...will… will you put a babe in me?"
Harry's eyes widened at the words she just said and his mouth parted.
She gave him a tender smile full of dreams and hope before she looked down at her lap, frowning "I know I shouldn't ask like that, it's still too early… but I believe it is time,"
Harry almost choked his wine out, he stared at her in disbelief… Harry certainly loves how Daphne treats their relationship the best she could and that she has gotten comfortable enough with him to say such things to him. And Gods, Harry wanted that, too. He wanted to get her a child. He wanted to see her body change and grow with their babe. He wanted a son with her they can name after his father and he wants a daughter with her they can name after her mother or his or any name he wants. He wanted everything with her.
He would kill anyone and everyone if they get in the way of that.
The image of a family of his own, that wonderful and heavenly dream.
But was it good to have it this time? He knew the power of the heiress, if he had a daughter it would suffer just like her and her ancestors, not to mention two of worst enemies, Hecate and Lilith would join their dynasties together, could it be that simple?
Harry smiled mockingly at the thought, could it be that why they were determined to marry from the beginning, protecting and Destroying the wheel of hate and racism.
He was still trying to adapt to the power of Lilith, the power of communication with magic.
He felt himself betraying Daphne's trust in him, it was not like she lied about her truth and just saw that, he was acquainted with that.
He was so engrossed in his own world that he almost forgot who even brought this subject to the land of reality.
"As my Princess commands," he said with a smile and Daphne smiled in relief, too, at him and blushed in reply.
"If you're naked, cover yourselves!" Kou shouted.
"Came in," they both laughed.
He entered with a steel face that burst into a wicked smirk.
"What happened this time?" Harry asked.
Kou jumped in the bed next to Daphne, not hiding his joy.
"You missed the fun!"
"What fun?" They both wondered.
"I stumbled to Phobos arguing with Aurelia!" He breathed with excitement.
"No!" Daphne, who a few moments ago was a shy girl, woke up.
Harry rolled his eyes as if two were two old hag neighbours.
"She said Corvina and you are after the northern lands…And then…." Kou started narrating the scene.
Harry glared sharply at Kou, a look that says "was that necessary?'
Kou held his hands up in surrender, " I just said what I saw l, Don't look at me like that,"
Harry made his way out of the chambers while the two kept gossiping and he thought Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil were the only ones, god helps him! There was no similarity between the two, how the hell could he possibly think about that.
Harry's heart squizzed tightly and felt suddenly a strike of headache, that he almost lost his balance if it wasn't for his hand, that reached the nearest wall to keep his stand.
A wave of images started to shower over his mind.
'Here is your prey, feed on him Nagini,' Voldemort's voice said, coldly.
Harry saw the snake jump on Lestrange, eating him slowly enjoying every slice of him while he was laying on the floor.
Harry's stomach dropped, He clasped his mouth with his hand as Harry felt nauseous.
He tried to block the thought of that man, 'block them Harry!' he encouraged himself.
As he did, a guess crossed his mind, 'don't tell me!?' Harry's eyes widened as he thought of it.
Could it be that Voldemort killed Snape too?
It couldn't be, he shook his head.
"Are you alright?" Someone patted Harry's shoulder when he turned to the source of the voice he found, a young redhead female staring at him.
"You again?" The girl approached him, since the day he arrived. He excused himself but she followed him.
" Esmeralda! Aren't you busy?" He tried to be polite, shoving her way.
"The twins are in their classes," she shrugged.
She kept following him everywhere. Not understanding the sign that clearly he doesn't want her around.
"Aslan!" she cried, wrapping her arm around his.
"Esmeralda! I'm busy!" He groaned. Freeing himself from the annoying girl.
"Wait! The staff are preparing a little barbecue party, would you like to join us, you know the servants," she pushed her hair strands behind her ear. Approaching him.
"I'm guarding my lady," he huffed, starting to get annoyed.
"Princess Rhaenys will be alright, she had that fox with her, aren't you tired from serving her all time?"
"What about you? If Queen Aurelia caught you lurking while her daughters study, won't she be pissed?" He almost snapped.
"Oh don't be a meany, I heard aunt Corvina was demanding the rights of Princess Rhaenys, is that true?" She whispered to him.
"Just tell me, Aslan!" She jumped again but Harry was faster.
He grasped her from both arms, pushing her to the wall, he had enough of the girl.
"What is your plan, Esmeralda?" He hissed to her.
"N-Nothing!"
"Is everything alright here?" A voice interrupted.
Harry glared, with rage to find himself in the presence of Dumbledore staring down at him.
Harry's mind went numb and his voice disappeared in his throat, his Adam's apple moved as he gulped, he remembered that he should breathe.
While the old man kept staring at him. Esmeralda adjusted herself and stared at them, a bit pale, behind him.
"Why aren't you with my niece?" Corvina peered over Dumbledore's shoulder.
"A...I," Harry lost his sense of words. The stares he received from the elders, turned him nervous.
He expected some insults from aunt Corvina but apparently, she behaved herself in front of Professor Dumbledore.
"Your niece? Ah Princess Rhaenys, she was badly injured wasn't she?"
"Not any longer,"
"Well, would you send my regards to her, gentleman," Dumbledore chuckled.
Dumbledore made his voice clear, "Shall we keep moving?" He turned to Corvina.
Corvina shrugged and the two made their way, as Harry watched them, he saw them taking a turn to the gardens.
He turned to Esmeralda. "Don't ever approach me again Esmeralda!" He warned her.
Daphne couldn't sleep that night, hunted again by nightmares, she has been having them since Iraq, she doesn't know if she was making noise during her sleep or not, since Harry never mentioned it, he was sleeping on the sofa outside her chamber, while Kou lurked somewhere.
Another reason for her inability to sleep, the pressure she was receiving, Harry told her not to demand anything in an indirect way, it was sweet of him but there must be a price to receive after all. Eva did not die just so she could leave easily. Her body started to ache, an alarm for its wake.
Slowly she moved out of her bed, walking in soft steps, passing Harry, She glanced at him and could not help but smile, he was resting one hand under his head, in his daily clothes, poor Harry.
Even in his sleep, he couldn't remove the disguise that Potiphar cast on him.
Harry must have been a lot in his mind, Dumbledore's presence made him restless. She sat on her knees next to him, her head on her arms, gazing at him.
She does see the face behind the disguise, only his true face, no matter how many layers would he cast on himself, she will always see Harry James Potter.
His lips looked pinker than usual. Were his eyelashes that long? She rarely took in his look, she wondered if they ever had a child would take after his look, 'I hope they don't inherit his nose, sorry, love,' she giggled.
"Patience love, everything shall be over soon," she whispered kissing his cheek.
In the end, the blonde wife finally decided to leave her chambers.
How nice for someone to be able to walk again! She felt blessed. Stretching her arms.
She would lie if she said; she doesn't love this place. It was her home once. It had serenity during the night, the quietness, the void of servants made it look abandoned and empty.
She cared less, distracted, unsurprisingly all things considered, and she ended up in the Throne Room. The place was damaged after her mother's death, there were always two chairs, now there was only one, the king's. She hasn't even set foot inside that room, Daphne cannot help herself. Her stomach dropped to toes, with a deep breath she stepped inside.
Surveying the large room before her. It was a memory. An old dream she imagined in the finest details, and she was expecting to feel a surge of emotion. She looked up at the Throne with mixed feelings.
There was a niggling feeling in the back of her head as she slowly descended and approached the throne room properly, this sense of Deja vú… and then she remembered, her bad and good days. She saw that room back then, and the Throne was much warmer, she sat on her mother's lap as she told her tales of the undying, heroes and myths. She crossed the room, ever so slowly, taking several seconds to take everything in and then, right as she finally ascended the steps on the dais, with her hand less than an inch from the Throne, raising her hand to touch it. She stopped, her hand in the air, an unexpected sound distracts her… And something like sadness pressed her chest. She swallowed hard and touched the mouldings of the throne with her fingers, closing her eyes and feeling a huge nostalgia growing inside her.
It takes her a heartbeat or two to clear the mists of her own memories as she comprehends that what she was hearing was the memory of her three siblings calling for her, or her mother's.
She withdrew her hand from the throne and just stared at it, understanding that this piece of molten metal had caused her so much pain. An idea came to her head and she sighed, understanding that her thoughts were the right ones. She knew that she was not the only one who had suffered from the ambition for the Throne,
It was clear as the day. Voldemort true ambitious lies in this room.
The sound of footsteps entering the room interrupts her thoughts. "Is it everything you hoped it would be, Your Highness?" Kou asked, his head tilting to indicate the Throne.
Daphne blinked fast to remove the unshaded tears and turned to him. "No," she sighed, she turned her back and moved away from the throne.
"Let's head back before someone sees you," he grasped her by the shoulder, walking her away.
"It's cold…" she murmured. The throne was cold like ice or even worst, It was no longer warm.
Kou only tightened his grip on her shoulder, was it hard to pretend everything was alright? "Don't speak nonsense." She heard him say.
"Will you stay with me?" She turned to him.
"Am I not here?" he smiled.
"What are the two of you doing here?" A female voice said, interrupting them.
Daphne turned to see her stepmother standing not far away from them. Kou soon lashed the young girl.
"Same question for you, You had to ruin the moment," Daphne replied, with no tone but venom. No one was here to listen anyway.
"I did not find the opportunity to do that, it appears as if you're hiding from me...So, this is your goal?" Aurelia signed the throne.
Daphne scoffed," Only people with a dirty mind will think about others likewise, not all people are power thirst like you, but sometimes I forget to whom I even talk, " Daphne said, faking disgust.
"I feel sorry for you Rhaenys, no Daphne now isn't it?" Aurelia approached Daphne until there was nothing but feet between them. " You're still unconvinced that your family's reign, yours is over, the pity and mercy of my son is the only thing keeping you from knocking on doors of death," Aurelia smirked.
"I forgot to congratulate you, from scums to rule a castle," Daphne pinched her nose up, looking at her with pity eyes.
"Well thank you, I earned it, but you...you have nothing left in your pockets so you're wooing my son, you better stay away from him, I'm warning you," Aurelia hissed, leaning closer, that both of them could feel their breaths.
Daphne flattered her eyelashes and smiled "Aw...Are you afraid that I will take him away too," Daphne stared At Aurelia's middle.
Aurelia gasped, stepping away, her hand went unconsciously to her belly.
Tut tut, Daphne tutted, and kept smiling with pity, her eyes falling at Aurelia, closing the distance until she reaches to her shoulder, "Don't be afraid now, I'm not gonna push you down the stairs...again,"
After taking a deep breath, Aurelia eyed her, "I do fear for my kids safety from you," she laughed, "if there is evil in this world, it's all shaped in you, He is my son, better stay from him!"
"And he is my brother," Daphne smirked, "my blood and flesh," she gasped in a mocking tone. "Careful stepmother, being lucky to been picked from streets is not enough to survive here,"
"Same for you, don't let down your guard, who knows, you may catch the same sickness of dearest Diane. "
"Alright, That's enough! Daphne!" Kou interrupted.
"Tell that to her, it seems that Chantelle's lesson hasn't improved yet anything on her low birth behaviour. You're still a scullery maid as ever!"
"Enough!" Aurelia snapped, raising a wand against Daphne.
Daphne raised her hand to stop Kou from approaching. "Oh, did I offend you?"
"Princess, I'm not like you...I wasn't raised in castles or worshipped, But I raised myself to the top slowly,"
"By sleeping with a married man, and getting yourself a royal bastard," Daphne cut her off.
Aurelia slapped Daphne, the young witch had enough of slaps or punches lately, not to mention from Aurelia of all people to insults her,
She felt rage and she couldn't use magic yet, she was about to pull out a hidden dagger if it was not for Kou, who had his enough and pulled Daphne away, walking her out.
"Just stay away!" Aurelia snapped.
"Pff, As if I'm dying to be that close to you! Now I smell like garbage!" Daphne cried.
Soon as they were out of reach, Kou clenched his fingers Harder around Daphne's arm, "for real?"
"She brought it to herself," Daphne huffed."I used to have better replies, was I envied!?" Daphne gasped, horrifically.
Kou rolled his eyes "Just walk," He pushed her forward.
Once the doors slammed, Harry jumped off the sofa, reaching his wand.
"WAS THAT NECESSARY!"
"SHE SHOWED UP! WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?"
"WHEN DID YOU START TO WALK?
Harry was about to hug her if it wasn't the shouting of Kou's.
"YOU THREATENED HER AND HUMILIATED HER!"
"SHE DID WHAT? TO WHO?"
"Aurelia…" She answered calmly then turned to Kou, "SHE DESERVES IT!"
"ONE DAY..one day left… you couldn't hold your fuckin tongue for a fucking one day!" He pointed his finger at her.
"HEY! DON'T SPEAK TO HER LIKE THAT!" Harry stepped protectively in front of Daphne,
"YOU HEARD HER...SHE...SHE…" Daphne's tried to talk over Harry's should. Hiding from Kou's wrath.
"SHE DEFENDED HERSELF, YOU BROUGHT IT TO YOURSELF!... You knew what, next time I let her not just slap you," Kou gave up on screaming at last, forgetting all about Harry.
Daphne reached the nearest vase and threw it at the fox. Because of that, they all stood in silence until the fox finally decided to break the ice.
"We could have sold that vase you know," Kou deadpanned.
There was a pause and Daphne's red and raged face softened followed by a chuckle. She massaged her forehead and walked away. And Kou left for a drink.
"Great, now I'm officially invisible like my cloak," Harry commented to himself...
He followed Daphne to her chamber, seeking information for the sudden burst.
"Is everything alright?"
Daphne glared at him and Harry noticed a reddish mark below her right eye.
"What happened to your eye?"
"A buffalo, I mean a… mosquito bite me," she laughed bitterly. Reaching her trunk that she ordered Dobby to bring earlier.
"What do you think of this one?" Daphne presented to Harry the gown she would like to wear. Her encounter with Aurelia won't make her spirit down. And this dress will make sure to give that old wretched woman a strike of Avada for sure.
She wanted to laugh evilly but her husband was in the room, she wouldn't creep him out.
Harry's eyes didn't move from her for some time, suspicious of the little fight.
"Don't give me that look," she sighed. She tried to make herself normal but Harry could see the act.
Harry sat on the bed and patted for her to join him, "It's not worth it, nothing worth it, my love… and you're the one who always tells me to stay calm," he interacted his fingers with hers, kissing her hand.
"She's just… augh! Harry, how can you do that?"
Harry raised a brow in confusion, but Daphne continued," How can you handle the Dursleys every day, I swear I was about to remove her eyes if it wasn't for Kou!"
Harry chuckled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her to him. "I just do," He tilted his head, kissing the crown of her head.
Harry felt her heart beating calm down and her breathing slowed.
Daphne, hugged him back, tightening her grasp, seeking shelter in his scent.
His scent kept changing for her, scents of papers, the scent of woods then this scent of musk.
the celebration day was her at last.
"It would be a great evening!" Daphne said to Kou as she moved her dress to the bed.
Kou saw enough of it and he could not help but sigh tiredly at her choice of dress.
She was about to change to the gown she would wear for the evening when she started feeling pain within her body.
Kou grasped her from the elbow to help her stand properly, sighing at her.
"Don't do this…"
She finally made her way through the room to see herself in the mirror, stripped off her nightgown, and turned her back, a frustrated gasp escaped her lips as she saw the wings' scars.
"They don't fade..." She was trembling. The man looked at her pained
"Harry needs to know,"
Kou averted his eyes away, trying to distract himself from the scene.
Scars...
Kou couldn't count them, because they were too many, faint or not, they were too many.
"My body refuses to heal the scars," she chuckled, darkly. Her hands lay on top of her heart.
He remembered the attack of Argai on her chest, it healed so fast for the eye back then.
"He must not know about them," she hissed, moving away, to look at the mirror. "I used her for the second time, my body is paying in return, the third time would kill me," she smiled at him from the mirror."I don't want him to see me like this,"
Kou's breath hitched at the word. But what he saw was not Daphne, but Diane. Why the two of them were so similar, why did the two of them surrender easily to their fate.
He glanced at her and saw her staring at the two scars in her back, where her dark wings appeared once upon a time.
"He must know!"
"No!" She tightly closed her eyes at his note,"Your scars are not healing this time, your body is not accepting treatment," he said firmly.
"He must not know! He...he won't trust me any longer," she cried. "Harry's trust is wearing thin, I can hear it through his voice and see it through his eyes."
Kou's mind went blank on the last day in Iraq, Harry demanded from him and the marauders' secrecy.
'Now listen to me all, it was Dolohov and Lestrange that we collided with...no one dare to say it was Snape, am I clear?' Harry stated.
'of course. We still need Snape," Remus gave a warning glance at Sirius Black.
'not only that, Daphne admires and respects Snape,' Harry remarked.
'Ew, that bat!' Sirius shivered.
Harry ignored that comment 'She will kill him,I know that...are we clear?'
They all agreed.
"Apply your magic on me please, hide them with a glamour," Daphne begged, bringing Kou back from the zoning world.
"Only this time,"
"She's taken more of me this time, I don't look much human myself," she whispered.
Kou knowing her meaning shifted her toward her bed "No, but you were in control this time which made a difference didn't you?"
She kept silent, was she even in control?
you may catch the same sickness of dearest Diane
The words Aurelia said kept playing over her head, that woman will pay. Daphne hated keeping secrets, she hated that every single thing she collided with and had to endure the secrecy for it was killing her.
When Harry walked into Daphne as she was preparing herself, it was funny, her hair was tied up in a messy bun with a brush on her hand, doing make-up.
She looked up from her mirror at him and he laughed at her, truly laughing.
"What! Never seen a woman preparing herself for a party," she jerked.
He waved his hand trying to hold his laugh, but could not, of course, he saw women preparing themselves, Petunia for example and it was not a pleasing image for the sight.
He moved and gave her a chaste kiss on her bare shoulder, "You are beautiful just the way you are," he murmured, leaving her and joining Kou on the sofa.
"Don't even ...we will fuckin age here…" Kou massaged his forehead.
"Ready!" She announced.
When she finally got out. Harry was speechless, his mouth parted as he saw her, He was amazed. Each time she surprised him, every dress she would ever wear gave her another glow, perhaps because he always saw her in a training outfit or school uniform. Or long skirts, he had managed to know her insecurity over her body.
Something he would like to have an honest conversation with her one day about it.
But something was different with that dress, she looked truly royal, her pose and smile as she turned to him and bowed giggling.
"My lord," watching Harry rolling his eyes, how much he hated that word, yet she loved teasing him a lot with it.
"My lady," he bowed back.
"You actually wore it! For fuck sake, I'm out of here," Kou groaned, interrupting their moment, leaving the chambers to the balcony.
"Jealous fox!"
"You haven't changed yet," she finally turned to Harry.
"I'm still thinking about even coming,"
"Don't be stupid, you left me on my own last time and what happened, Voldemort showed up, are you sure you will leave your weak girl alone, my heart will be broken," she teased.
Harry wrapped one arm around her waist and pulled her to him. "Your heart is made of stone, you will be alright," he chuckled.
Daphne pursed her lips at him with a silent reply but kept her gaze at him waiting for something but when he did not say anything she moved away huffing. "Fine, and I prepared a surprise for you,"
"A surprise?"
"Well, you're not coming, what's the point?" she crossed her hands in front of her.
"Daphne!" He groaned massaging between his eyes, it was easier now without glasses, but he missed those round metal glasses.
"I know you hate social gatherings," she sighed, "What do we have here, smells good…" she pointed at the table. Changing the topic.
"Oh...right! Chef Edd sent this to you," he offered a small tray to her, she let out the sweetest moan, his ears could hear.
Her endless love for the food, surtout to the ones chef Edd prepare, the man literally was the reason for her passion for food in the first place.
More like her passion to eat food precisely.
"Baklava!" Her eyes glimmered in excitement. She invited him and Kou to eat.
And when she offered him to eat from her hands, he resisted eating her fingers as well as the pistachio sweet.
He was not very into foreign sweets but he admitted that the pistachio sweet with honey was absolutely delicious.
"Don't eat too much!" Kou scolded as she went for her second piece.
"Whaaat, come on, the only reason that makes me attend the event is Edd's food and we both know that!" She made a babyface.
"Okay, I have to appear before people start talking…" She adjusted herself.
Harry felt unease, he wanted her to refuse power, he started to understand the meaning behind the power, it's dark and light.
Harry then realised something, he would fail in politics.
'Steadfast like Eros, wise like Mother, fearless like Harry.' She repeated this over and over in her head, this mantra of hers that has kept her pushing forward even when it would feel like she was pushing against the gods themselves.
It wasn't long before She and Kou entered through the great hall of the throne room.
Daphne couldn't help but think it was all quite underwhelming. She had been certain her arrival would be accompanied by the Hushed whispers.
The eyes were on her, some said Diane was resurrected.
They greeted her with a polite bow, minsters and nobles all along.
Daphne gracefully dropped to her head and put a hand on her heart, bowing to her king. And him alone, she told herself.
Only a few feet away from her. Though her eyes were trained to the ground, she could hear Phobos inhale sharply. It doesn't surprise her how he still finds this royal treatment incredibly discomfiting – it's one of the reasons why she started to believe him deserving of it all.
She couldn't help the smile that tugs at the corner of her lips.
The smile was short-lived. Aurelia appeared beside him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Daphne didn't miss the way he winced when she dId that as she burnt him.
"Princess Rhaenys."
Daphne stared at her stepmother's green one shoulder sequin mermaid dress with a detached train, She bowed her head yet again.
"Your Grace."
"Rise," the other woman said.
Her tone is composed and docile, but it does nothing to put out the fury that ignites within Daphne. 'I am not yours to command, she wants to seethe at her.' But the public forced her to hold her tongue and swallow her pride. She stood, breaking the eerie silence. Feigning a happy smile.
Aurelia gave her an excruciatingly polite smile. And Daphne, for all the ice in her veins and winter in her bones, remained impassive, her Ice eyes devoid of any emotion and her chapped lips pressed in a straight line. She stands with her back straightened and her chin held high, almost rigid but also very much regal.
"You're wearing your mother's dress, I dare say it looks…" Aurelia gave her a slow stare from toe to head before she smiled again, "beauteous."
"Thank you, but no one can surpass your beauty stepmother, I do not see my young sisters?"
"They would join us shortly before the parade," Aurelia mentioned.
Daphne nodded and left, greeted everyone, she faced Mr and Mrs Malfoy and she gave them her best smile.
"The Noble lord to the House of Malfoy. It's a pleasure to see you, I was under the impression that you might not make an appearance tonight."
"Well, I was never known to disappoint your excellency." Extending his hand with a smirk playing at his lips,
Daphne placed her hand in his outstretched one. And Lucius Malfoy kissed her knuckles before casting a polite glance at Narcissa.
Daphne's gaze turned to his wife and she could see the hate burning like flames in the woman's eyes, Narcissa bowed forcefully her head.
"I heard you have a son the same age as mine?"
Narcissa's breath hitched. But Daphne kept talking, "I pray for the angels to guard him."
A guard showed up by her side, "Your cabin is ready, your highness," A guard came. Breaking the tension.
"I hope you enjoy a great evening in our humble palace," Daphne bowed, leaving with Kou to the flying cabin.
Aurelia far away kept her eyes on Daphne as she walked away. "She did that on purpose," she whispered with a smile, her eyes on the people, Phobos by her side.
"Mother, don't…" he warned.
"You still defending her, she's wearing her mother's dress, the coronation red gown! She's provoking us!" she hissed between her teeth.
Phobos took a deep breath and smiled "Forget about it," his eyes darted to Daphne.
Entering the small cabin that flew on the side of the throne room ceiling as if there was no ceiling; it mirrored a starry Night if someone looked up. Her eyes darted as she saw the king on his throne, looking bored, his mother standing by his side.
"When I was young before I ran away…" she said, Kou turned his attention to her while her eyes and her pose kept straight on the king "Eros made me share my lessons with Phobos, you remember that do you?" She asked and he nodded. "One time while we were studying Sumerian, the teacher said something I could not find the answer for, but Phobos hardly answered anything at all, so she offended him in her mother tongue on purpose or not, I don't remember well.
I understood it and when he looked at me he realized that. The teacher kept slandering him a lot because he was an illegitimate son and so on.
After she finished her task with us, he rose from his place smiling; thanking her for her work and I quote: Thank you, I may be an illegitimate child but I will not let my family down.
You can't imagine the shock, shame and guilt I felt at that time because I didn't say anything.
I followed him then stealthily, to find him in the middle of the night secretly escaping from his room to the library and studying, studying.
Then I learned the biggest lesson of my life, don't show what you have, sometimes the smallest things that relate to you and belittle you are your biggest weapons.
Phobos taught me that I may have loved Eros with all my heart, to the point that it blinded me from the truth, but he erred and committed treason against the family. And Harry may see me as nothing but a hypocrite because I hate Aurelia and Phobos, but there is one thing I do not forget, despite the enmity we may kill each other, but, we are a family, and if anyone tries to harm us, he will not be forgiven for his actions. Harry's social circle is very small, and he doesn't know much. This is only a test and an experience to learn from. I hope this answer is convincing…"
Harry was watching from the magical screen that played in front of Berz.
The head commander preferred to avoid the noise and Harry found himself joining him.
Drinking tea as he sat on the chair next to Berz's bed.
While he looked up at the commander, he still hasn't recovered fully. His sandy blonde hair was white now.
He looked a little bit aged.
"Speak your thoughts, they are annoying." The old man said.
Harry blinked dumbfounded before he chuckled a bit, but his smile faded as he returned his focus to the screen.
He felt a hard gaze on him coming from the commander so he finally spoke, "How did she look like back then?"
Berz blinked slowly enough to collect his thoughts, he suddenly touched his eye scar and sighed.
"Hair dark as night, skin grey as steel. She was no human, nor was a monster, something better between the two." He paused, while Harry rested his back on the chair, crossing his arms, eyes still on the screen. Berz continued "–No curse, no spell, sword or a gun wounded her. She–"
"She lied." Harry cut his talk.
Berz turned to him, with a frown. The boy with emerald eyes was calm and his voice avoided any reaction.
Harry moved his arms and rested them on his knees as he leaned forward, making eye contact with the commander.
Berz could feel a man in those boy's eyes and not a kid.
"She lied, you knew her, you trained her and she trained me ... She lied, she wasn't conscious back then, her eyes sought death and vengeance." His voice became harsh.
"She is not stable in mind." Berz's throat felt dry.
Harry's eyes only hardened and his jaw clenched, his hands fisted in his lap...
"Indeed...but I will find a way for that." Harry broke the eye contact
From the flying cabin within the walls of the great hall of the throne, Daphne watched the small parade, showing off the chest that held the sanctity of the wizarding world.
The hymn of their ancient language that was sung by the fair Sirens, witched her ears, to imagine that she was living in the past.
The magic of the items within the chest kept calling her, inviting her to claim them.
Their hymn made it no easy either, the more the chant was, the louder it got.
Her breath hardened and tears filled her eye.
Wrong! This must stop! She needed to take the sacred trusts. They belong to her. The drums' noise was as if by the side of her ears.
She felt Phobos's eyes on her and she gulped, darting her eyes away. She made a deal, she reminded herself of that.
Kou, resting his back to the pillar of the cabin, watching down the royal fair. Harry did not join her, preferring to stay with Berz.
It was starting to get irritating the way her husband was spending his time with the lord commander, but she couldn't speak her thoughts out loud, not while she was in an argument with the commander, no one suspected the sudden argument.
She hasn't visited him not even once, she hasn't talked much about him, he was alive.
That was all that mattered, there was no need for them to have crossed paths
She mourned in her own way, she did not need to show it to the public, not even to her husband.
They were servants and she was the Mistress. There were lines that should not be crossed, unfortunately. Her brother has the affection of dozens of their army, what did it gain him, a quick death after a rushed revolution.
Every word she spoke within the walls were counted and had thousands of theories.
The opposers to Diane's children were getting larger every day.
She made sure to give everyone the Satisfying picture about her 'the fugitive Princess,'
"The Malfoys keep sending deathly glares at us, it gives us only negative aura," he shivered, while he glanced at the noble Malfoys who were in another cabinet,on the opposite side.
"Let them…" she smirked.
"500 years of peace ends today, he made a bad choice by bringing it to the palace." Kou finally commented. "But he did it to catch the traitors," Kou added.
"Yes, but not all of them, I can't let him be misguided, Corvina, and Potiphar are good advisors but the rest... He needs someone trustworthy to Whisper to him." Her voice seemed heavy.
"A lover?" Kou suggested.
"A wife…" she gave him a quick glance.
"Rhae…" Kou smirked at the diabolical plans that started to shower Daphne's mind. Leaning closer, resting his arms on the railing.
"When I was at Tracey's once we watched a Disney cartoon movie, about a girl of ashes turned into a princess." she wrapped her fingers around her chin, thinking.
"Cinderella?"
" That was her name!" She smiled brightly at him, which he gave her 'are you kidding me ' stare."I ended the pure wheel, Phobos must do the same." She kept her smile at him, after the barrier to make sure no one was hearing.
"You want a half-blood bride!?" He awed.
"Noooo…" she tilted her head at him smirking, "a Muggleborn bride," Kou's eyes widened.
"And I have the right one in my mind." She finished turning her back to him. "I told him I want a child, you know," she suddenly said. It took Kou unguarded.
Daphne thought about the baby subject from the moment she lost her virginity to him and consummated their marriage. But it faded as she discovered the fun of having a lover in her life.
To enjoy the moment.
They were young and Harry wanted freedom and she respected his dream, but there must be an heir to House Potter. After the recent event, she didn't know what was coming next and she knew that she would die in the coming war.
Her duty to him and to her mother must be completed, she would not burden him with raising the child, she would do it on her own, it would be her job.
The words of her cousin were still ringing in her ear, her sister was barren and couldn't afford a child.
She was the only chance for the dynasty to keep on, Someone must keep protecting this world.
'If fate was not just for me to live forever with you, at least I could leave part of me and you in this world,' She glanced at him worried.
The parade ended and people returned to their tables.
While Daphne was preoccupied talking to Kou, Potiphar joined and asked her to join his table.
"My sister?" She asked her brother-in-law.
"Occupied," it was a short answer but enough.
The music was loud and the people were drinking like never before. Albus Dumbledore and some men had arrived to celebrate with them, and Lucius Malfoy as well had blended with that smile of his.
Eying her every while and then, his wife on other hand made sure to avoid any eye contact. and the young twin sisters had come to greet her with hesitance.
Seeing her in person for the first time in their life. She did not give them a bad first impression but instead smiled and joked to ease the temper with them. They were in her eyes as beautiful as an angel could be au contraire to their mother until the latter arrived and ruined her little family reunion.
Kou sat beside Daphne, both of them enjoying the food and socialising with all guests except for the Malfoys and the family. The king was a sight to be seen.
The whole hall became silent when the king stood up from his place, followed by the queen mother, all their eyes fixated on them.
"We have news," Phobos announced. Daphne saw the signal and made her way to stand in front of the king. "My dear sister… She played a heroic role, and she personally brought the sacred trusts and transferred them to our palace, which caused her some injuries during her fight and effort against the enemies of our people. Thanks to her, I was able today to share with you, my people, the beauty of our history. So we must honour this noble sacrifice for our dead and for our brave ones who made us witness today. Ask what you want and we will fulfil,"
Daphne could hear The murmurs around and acted all poise.
"Your Grace! What may my heart desire could be a very selfish wish but still,I hope to find mercy in your heart to forgive the rest of rebels, Eros… the rebel is dead and the traitor has been captured…" she announced, causing the endless murmurs within the throne room.
"Very well, is that all? the sweetest sister of mine will be guaranteed..."
Daphne gave him a polite bow before speaking again.
"For the whole world to witness, I, Rhaenys Eumilia Phopine of house Vasilian, also named Daphne have pledged allegiance to my brother, his grace Phobos, and here I abdicate before you all, with all my titles and privileges out of love and voluntarily... To my youngest sisters!"
It made the entire room explode in murmurs and gasps.
It was a gamble.
Aurelia almost blacked out, she still wants to see Daphne's head on a spike in the palace. But Daphne couldn't sit and wait for her fate to be decided.
She hoped she was doing the right thing, the right thing for their home. Her brother thought he was doing the right thing too, and looked where he was now. Where was he anyway, she did not ask about him, never dared during her stay in the castle, it was known that traitors have no place among the family. Not even a grave.
She did not even visit her Mother's grave, not Eva's. But she hoped that one day she could find his grave and cry for him.
In the court, there were always schemes and Daphne was her own player, not a pawn.
Kou only smirked as he leaned against the railing.
A few days ago,
While Esmeralda was going to fetch the girls from the great library.
When she was two hallways away from reaching her destination.
A hand grasped her out of her thoughts, causing her to yelp, and pulled her into the nearest room.
"Going somewhere, Esmeralda?" Kou appeared right behind the young redhead woman.
She shivered.
Tingles travelled from his fingertips where they came in contact with her bare skin to her arm and tickled her senses. It frightened her.
The door slammed shut behind them, and she quickly moved far away from him.
He was an awful lot taller, and her previous experiences with him had proved she could not outrun him.
He didn't bother lighting the candles.
"What do you want?" she asked, more snappishly than she had intended.
He did not answer her. In fact, he just continued staring at her coldly as if he wanted to rip her to pieces. Taking a deep breath and very much annoyed, she strode towards the door. Before she could place her hand on the doorknob, however, he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to him.
She yelped again, but his grip only strengthened.
"Let go of me," she growled, struggling against his hold.
Surprisingly, he released her.
He laughed, so light it could've been her imagination. But soon his hand was on her mouth, pulling her to him rather harshly. His fingers tighten their touch around her cheeks.
His breath was touching her skin as he whispered to her, "Now, Now… you know I'm against violence," he commented, his voice even lighter than his laugh. His lips moved past her cheek, to her ear, licking it before he continued, "But if you cooperate, we won't do it now will we?"
She shook her head, nodding, frightened.
Daphne stood as a Potter now, she wouldn't leave, feeling restless about her home.
It was the only thing she could do toward her ancestors.
Giving Aurelia a victorious smile. The woman almost choked out of her breath. While Corvina stood unfazed.
Harry and Berz who watched from the magical screen both went speechless. None predicated the latest announcement.
"This is absurd!" Harry snapped, standing from his place.
"Calm down," Berz stood behind him.
Harry took a deep breath and moved his gaze to the screen.
Back to the throne room, while everyone waited to hear the reply of their king.
A second seemed longer than an hour.
Kou wanted to laugh so loud at the pathetic crowd, he was so surprised but as his surprise went, his happiness for the wickedness of Daphne was larger.
They called her "two-faced girl, the hypocrite princess" Daphne heard their whispers in the halls. More than anything, she was angry. Angry in a way she hasn't felt in a while. She's learned to be cold-blooded and bury any strong emotions behind a veil of decorum. She wanted to scream. But she gambled now, nothing would change that.
There was a heavy and pregnant silence between her and Phobos, she felt her heart's beats fastening as she waited for his reply.
"Rhaenys who's false name shall be Daphne from the day on, your wish shall be granted but, never forget, you are always an honourable member of the family, you will always be a Vasilian wherever you are." He said standing up from the throne.
The court applauded the King's words.
Daphne did not know how relieved she was, nor the soft sigh she let out.
She bowed to him, naming him her king, she stole a glance at Aurelia and winked at her. And left on her way out, between the crowds, her head high, proud. She made her way and went to the king's private chambers.
It did not take after that, someone slammed the door loudly behind her, she has already known who and smirked, turning to the source, her sweet brother.
Shortly later, Phobos bursted into the room.
"What the fuck do you think you have done?" he hissed. Grasping her roughly from her wrist, pulling her to him.
Seeing the young king in the state he was in caused her to smile, but it was quickly wiped off her face when he moved in front of her again and pushed her against the door, trapping her not only mentally, but physically.
His eyes shined dangerously, and they looked even more sinister with blood veins started to show up under his skin, trailing down his face. However, she did not care for those ominous signs at the moment.
"Those are my terms." She smirked at him. When he merely strengthened his hold on her, she narrowed her eyes at him. "Take it or leave it."
Although she did not take her words seriously at all, it was still something she could easily taunt him with. She should consider thanking Kou for giving her something to laugh at Phobos and Aurelia with.
However, the coldness in Phobos's laughter that followed her words cut off her train of thought and wrapped around her, causing her to shiver.
"You will pay for this," He nodded with rage and she made her way to the table.
In her usual state of mind, Daphne would have probably detected how dangerous he sounded at the moment, but she just did not care. The scene playing out right now reminded her so much of a certain Ball. Few weeks ago with some Dark Lord.
"It's simple, isn't it?" She crossed her arms over her chest and smiled mockingly. "You want something and I want something," She snorted disparagingly to enhance the effect.
"Do you think I'll leave the throne to you so easily?" She approached him, "I will not leave you anything for nothing, half-brother, and I have not bowed down for nothing. If you wanted your throne, your mother wouldn't stay here to see you sitting on it. The choice is yours. " She raised a slight brow at him.
He did not answer her. Minutes passed, but she hardly reacted at all. In fact, the pause only caused her to feel even more powerful. Waiting for him to respond.
"Are you daring me?" he finally asked, his voice overly quiet and kind. It was almost like a sweet venom, washing over and seeping into her, warming and claiming its hold on her before slowly taking her life away.
It was her turn to remain quiet, and alarmed, her eyes flickered over to his. For the first time that night, her heart skipped a beat. His tone of voice frightened her, reminding her of some kind of wild beast that was waiting in the dark shadows of the forest to pounce on its victim. She froze in her actions, almost afraid that a single move would only encourage him to take action.
"And why would I dare our king?" she asked timidly, almost as if she wished the floor would suddenly swallow her up.
"No?" he inquired, raising an eyebrow at her declaration. "It certainly sounded like a letter of challenge to me."
"You're thinking too much," she replied, averting her eyes. And found what she wanted, her smirk widened. "You're eager are you?" She said, sarcastically. As her eyes darted to the small prepared ritual runes.
Phobos pulled away, bringing the golden box that all the fights and adventures that happened in the past weeks were because of it.
Daphne took in its beauty and sighed tiredly. She has had enough of it, just the look of it, gave her a headache.
Once Phobos opened it. The sister of the king lifted the original grimoire between her hands and put it on the table.
"Oh! One more thing!" She turned to him
He rolled his eyes but forced a smile,"What is it?'
"The British minister is here isn't he? I need you to tell him to clear Sirius Black's name,"
"Why would I do that?"
"Don't be a pussy, he helped us a lot!"
"Fine! Anything else Sultana?" He asked her, mocking.
She pursed her lips and turned her focus to opening the first page, taking a dagger and slicing her hand. Not wasting her time.
"Remember, it comes with cost; the heaviness of history." She mentioned, as she wrote her name on the book. Then she chanted some ancient words.
Phobos approached, taking the dagger, repeating the same Ritual.
He straightened his back and turned to see her stare at him, a mighty woman.
"Listen to me, be strong and upright.
Your test begins now, you will burn with fire and storms will blow you, pass it firmly,
The throne is not a chair, the throne is the first and last of your enemies, an eternal enemy." She paused and smiled. "Your era has now begun..."
Phobos glanced down at the page where he saw his name shine on the page of the book. And bowed to her.
"Please don't fuck this up!" She sighed at him.
"It's already fucked but, I will do my best." He chuckled, giving her a hug.
"Good luck with your mother!" She waved at him, walking out of his chambers with a bandage on her hand.
She felt light, like a big and a heavy thing was holding her back from moving.
Her hair on the other hand was saying otherwise. She unleashed it from that tied updo. Freeing it down over her shoulders. Massaging the knot between her neck and shoulder. She was restless and tired.
Kou came by herside, and gave her a cloak, which she wrapped around her. "You can breathe now," The man told her.
She leaned her head to him,as she stared with a tinder smile at his face, the wicked fox who encouraged her this far with her plan. "I can breathe now,can I?"
She found Harry waiting for her at the end of the hall.
"I will go first," Kou said, leaving them alone.
They both stared, hitched breath. Excitement overwhelmed her, waiting for any reaction.
Since the celebration was held on the other side of the castle, the halls were kinda deserted and even if there were servants they don't meddle with the family members, like they don't exist..
"That was your surprise?" He guessed.
"Charming one, isn't it?" She nodded, with a huge grin.
"Surprisingly, yes." Harry finally smiled.
Harry never expected her to demand something like that, her reaction and answers in the last days, made him believe that she wanted her lands, part of him. A tiny part of him wanted her to do that ,mayhaps it would be much easier for him to fight Voldemort.
"Angry?"
"I learned to never expected what to expect," he rolled his eyes as they walked, side by side.
She gaped at him, and slapped his arm lightly, "What's that supposed to mean?"
They stopped and looked at each other before bursting into a gigantic laughter.
"You are truly a Slytherin by core, evil!" He admitted.
"Oh, but I've always been," she crossed her arms.
As she said that. They stare at each other for a long moment. Harry's eyes hooded and his gaze fixed on her red lips.
Daphne saw his glare darkening and she felt her cheeks reddening already. He may have been wearing some disguise but to her, he was always Harry.
Then an idea popped into her head, she knows this castle more than anyone lives within it. Why don't she use that benefit at least before she leaves?
She was wearing red and Valentine's day was just a few days from now.
Lupercalia precisely.
She stepped closer to his body, an eyebrow quirked up. After a moment.
Her hands roamed his chest, resting it right above his heart. Tempting him to lean in to press his lips against hers. Noses touched and breathes mixed. Harry leaned forward to catch her lips but she moved her face aside, reaching his ear.
"You need to catch me first, love." She whispered before giving him a slow kiss right behind his ear.
Harry's eyes widened and smirked, his hands were ready to trap her. But she was quicker, moving away.
Daphne was on her feet in a second with Harry quick on her heels.
Her flawless red gown made it difficult for her to be out of his sight. But he kept a good pace between them as chased her.
She looked over her shoulder with a smile and moved behind a pillar. Harry caught up with her and trapped her their, she leaned against the wall. He pressed her against the wall, trapping her hands with his own.
"And you call this a chase? What's the prize?" He smirked.
"A prize, eh?" Harry gave her an appreciative glance from head to waist. " I suppose we could have a tiebreaker,"
"Daphne," he tsked. "Letting me get on your back, that's dangerous, you know."
The corner of her mouth quirked, and she ground her ass into his hips. She could feel his plates starting to shift already, and he groaned. "Maybe it's a more dangerous position for you to be in," she teased.
He huffed. His breath was warm and damp against her neck. His chest vibrated with a growl, and he traced the length of her jugular with his tongue, making Daphne sigh. "Did you want to put up a fight?" he asked in a low voice when he reached her ear. "Make it a challenge for me?"
Her eyebrow rose again, this time with a more specific interest in mind. The concept appealed to her in ways she hadn't expected. "How would that work?"
"Well," he began in that same deep tone. Harry took a moment to trap her wrists with one hand above her head to leave one of his own free. "A lot like this," he explained. "We tussle a little, tease one another." He traced his way down her arm with one talon, making the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stand up. "It's like working for the pin. But no punches or kicks." He nipped her ear lobe with his lips. "Maybe a little biting, though."
Daphne hummed and wiggled her hips against his. Harry put a touch more weight into keeping her against the cold wall while he traced down her side. She turned her head, stealing a kiss. "I think I'd be willing to try it, as long as kissing is still allowed?"
"Of course," he agreed as he made his point by pressing his mouth to hers. Daphne sighed into the kiss and slipped her tongue into his mouth. Harry met it with his own, well-practiced by now. Daphne had taught him well.
While Harry focused on the kiss, Daphne slipped away, breaking the kiss. Harry felt all the weight in front of him disappear and his hands caught nothing but air. Her hands out of his grasp.
He opened his eyes to see instead of a wall a long dark path. A secret path.
"Who said this was the real chase?" She smirked back.
Out of nothing a secret path opened behind her and she ran inside it. Harry followed running behind her.
Daphne's sense of excitement was good and roused, giddy really, this was so much FUN! Especially as she teased Harry, stopping at times, wriggling place, playing possum kinda, only to snatch it away and run again. Inside the paths.
"Can't catch me, can't catch me!" she sing songed as she ran.
"Not yet I ain't!" Harry called out, chasing after her with a grin on his disappeared from his view and Harry quickened his speed. Until he reached the end of a path.
Only to find himself within a room full of fabrics. He looked at piles of mismatched fabrics and pieces of cloth. Some falling down from the roof down like hundreds of veils.
He saw her shadow moving like a dancing nymph behind the curtain.
Her long slim fingers were caressing the silk in a way she caressed his body. Finally she came forward.
They stayed silent for a little while, glaring at each other. Both of their minds were racing.
She slipped off her robe off her shoulders. Reaching up, she began to untie her breeches. Once it was undone, she slid it off her shoulders and stood before him in nothing more than a lace red bra that did little to hide her erect nipples from his view. As he watched and stepped out of her dress. Her knickers matched the bra, and did just as little to hide.
Harry's throat dried as he kept his stare on her. Apparently his wife was preparing for a longer evening that he expected. Her body was perfect. Her flesh was healed and there was no trace of any scar from the battle. Desire flashed in his eyes, and Daphne was encouraged that her seduction was going well.
"Remove it," she whispered.
Harry inhaled, harshly. He pulled out his wand to remove all the glamours.
Harry turned to the old dark and jet messy hair, and all his features returned.
Daphne felt as if a long lost part of her soul had returned to her.
Harry did not know that Daphne felt exactly like he did. He looked up and saw her. His heart almost stopped altogether, crawling back to her. He felt a heavy weight lifting off his shoulders as soon as their eyes met in a steady gaze. There was a moment of hesitation,
But it was not long before her face breaks into a smile and her arms opened to welcome him into her warm embrace. Harry relished the moment, encircling her waist beneath her heavy cloak and burying his face in her neck. She smelled today of lavender and home.
He felt her hands tightly clenching his shoulders, holding him close, he belonged to her and her only, and no one would dare remove him from her arms. He was hers; wanted to whisper it so she knows, but he stays quiet and held her closer instead, willing his body to show how much he missed her. Daphne stayed exactly where she was, with her chest pressed so tightly against his that Harry felt a slight discomfort build in his breeches.
He heard her inhaling his scent, and he groaned. He hands were up to his face before she started showering him with rain of kisses.
"I have missed you! Missed this!" She said, kissing every single available spot on his skin. She ran her fingertips over the cut the dragon had given him on his cheek.
It stayed like a scar down his jaw. Harry smiled down at her, she was rather concerned. He felt himself leaning into her touch as he smiled down at her.
She leaned up and kissed the spot just under the cut on his cheek.
Harry's heart beats fastened. There was a hurt in her voice when she said it, and Harry took the plunge.
He kisses her, swallowing her gasp as he backs. Daphne's hands clasp his shoulders tightly, and she gives as good as she gets. It's as if Harry could finally breathe, despite his mouth being entirely occupied with her own. His teeth graze her lips, earning a hiss before he soothes them with his tongue and slips it inside her mouth. Harry's eyes roll back into his head when he feels her tongue slide against his, and they moan in unison, a song of yearning and long awaited bliss.
His hips cant be against hers once, of their own accord, and Daphne breaks their kiss to gulp air into her lungs. Harry rests his forehead against hers, feeling her chest rise and fall against his own. He meets her eyes, willing her to know, to understand, wishing his words didn't fail him, but knowing they always would fall short.
"It's okay now, we both are okay." he whispered.
Something seemed to click for her, because she blinked once and her eyes lit up, and then she grabbed him by the hair and brought his lips back to hers. It's exhilarating, this feeling—that she wanted him back, enough to kiss him and claim him.
Hers.
Always been and always will.
She reached up and began to unbutton the long line of buttons that ran the length of his vest. "Damn it, Daphne!"
She chuckled and finally reached the clasp on his trousers. She undid it, and his erection sprang free. She curved her fingers lightly around his flesh and began to stroke. Her fingers slid down his shaft and caressed the swollen sac beneath and then moved up to caress the head once more.
Harry sucked in a breath at the sensation, he missed this so fucking badly. This woman before him was a seductress.
He decided to let her continue to caress him, making his flesh throb with heat. Suddenly, she sank to her knees and pressed her lips to his straining cock. Harry gave a strangled groan as she slid her tongue over the head. When she closed her lips over him, a blaze raced through his body and destroyed any tiny small amount of resistance he may have had maintained. With a shuddering sigh, He threaded his hands in her light blonde strands. He could almost feel his shaft gliding smoothly in and out of her wet heat.
He pulled free only when he knew he wouldn't be able to hold back any longer. He pulled Daphne up from her knees and seized her mouth in a hot, hungry kiss. She strained against him, rubbing her body against his. Sexy whimpers broke from the back of her throat as Harry reached around her and unclasped her bra. He slid the straps down her arms and broke the kiss long enough to completely remove it. His palms glided over her firm breasts until her small nipples pebbled against his hands.
Her nails graze his scalp, making him growl and push her harder against him, not an inch of space between them. His cock was already hard, and before he can even think of containing himself, he grinds against her.
as he pauses to plant tender presses of lips to her face and mouth before grasping the backs of her thighs to better bounce her up the floor.
Leaning down, he took one stiff nipple in his mouth while his hands reached down to push her knickers down her thighs. Daphne was barely able to breathe, let alone concentrate. Somewhere in the haze of desire, she realized he needed her help, yet before she steps out of the knickers and kick them off to the side, he tore it. Once she was bare before him, he raised his head to gaze heatedly on her skin.
Daphne looked like a fantasy. Her Blonde curls spilled around her shoulders. Her breasts were high and firm. It was just like their first time. Her waist was narrow and flowed into her perfectly curving hips. But Harry couldn't wait. That pleasure would have to wait until a later time. He placed his hands on the back of her thighs and lifted her with little effort. Daphne kept her legs locked uparound his waist. She shuddered as she felt his shaft press against her body. She started to close her eyes.
"Look at me! I want to see your eyes as I enter you," Harry commanded. Daphne did as she was told without question. Her gaze locked with his as he gave one powerful thrust and entered her body. Daphne's head fell back and a moan of sheer pleasure burst from her. Harry responded with a moan of his own.
"You're mine Daphne Potter. You...unnghh...belong to me..aaah..don't...you"? he asks through gritted teeth as he thrusts within the tight circle of long milky legs locked behind his steady hips.
His gaze sharpened as his hands worked on unleashing her dress
There's a hint of restraint, weak and short-lived, before they kiss again, wet and desperately. Daphne tastes honey and pistachios, from the previous dessert. Still sweet enough to make his head spin. He laid her on the fabrics down the floor
"Mmm Yes Harry, I'm yours...aaah...my kisses are yours...my smiles are yours...ooh...my teats are yours...oh fuck...my...my...".
"Say it, sweetheart".
"My cunt it yours"!
"Good...uungh...girl...mmmnnhh.."he grunts into her hair.
"No one else but me," he pants "no one else even touches what's mine ...uungh...if they do...aahhh...I'll gut them where they stand...fuck..."
Her pretty moans and whimpers mingle with his brutish grunts and groans as his pelvis picks up its tempo, slamming flesh into the flesh at an animal's pace.
"Fuck Harry!...Yes!...Oh Gods YES"! Daphne's nails dig into his shoulders and his arms begin to ache from holding her against the ground but he's close to spilling and suspects her peak is on its way.
He hasn't said so before, but his primal thoughts tell him that spending his seed within her is just another, and yet the ultimate form of claiming her. He'll later smile at the notion of it.
After their cries of pleasure, after her dress and his clothes were returned to their previous state
"Hungry?"
"Starving!"
"Let's go home then," He beamed.
Sifting through letter after letter, he didn't think he could take it anymore. He had to admit no one person could read all these letters all by himself. But commander Berz found it as a good excuse to avoid the noise of the damn celebration the king has held. He got up from his crowded desk And walked over to the window.
The declaration of Daphne was surprising for him, for most of the time from what he gathered from Harry Potter, the girl was determined to take her lands.
What has changed?
There was a knock on his door and He allowed them to enter.
"Forgive me for intruding," Kou entered.
"What is it?" The head commander asked.
"Sorry to disturb you but-" Kou started. "But the witch asked me to deliver this to you," Kou massaged his neck and with his other hand put an envelope on the desk of the head commander and left. Berz went and picked up the sealed envelope. Walking back to his desk.
He scanned it with his eyes and decided to read it's contents.
My dearest commander.
I write to you now in hope that you will receive this letter with an open heart. The war has come to us and the time has come for me to accept my duty and do what needs to be done for our people.
I write to you now as I depart for the journey. I have rallied my faith to the cause and have, once the war shall be declared
I know you are disappointed in me for using dirty tricks and going out of your word, fighting against one of my own flesh. This time there shall be no war between us, I made sure of that, even if it makes me look like a dirty witch in the eyes of the world.
Reading this, I know you will be against my wishes, but do not fear for me head commander.
I will bring back the pride to my name again and make you proud of what you had raised for.
My beliefs are still just as yours and do not doubt for a second that it changed.
You are my father to me no matter what, O how I hope to say this personally. Kiss your hand and ask for your blessing. I will avenge Eva's death from the rebellious traitors of our world.
Voldemort's head shall be on a spike and his followers shall be burned.
All I ask of you now is to wish me and the master of my house nothing but success and pray for me, may we meet in better circumstances than these.
Daphne Potter
Berz leaned against his chair and closed his eyes, still holding the letter.
For a few moments, he stayed that way, then he opened them again and stared at the stars.
"May the odds be in your favour, sweet child," he thought.
And so the Arc of Iraq and the royal family is finally over.
