short chapter, but as Ash pointed out: drama is coming!

Theo felt like he was walking on clouds. Mia was amazing and he was already halfway in love with her.

They had been on lots of wonderful dates, and he could see his life getting brighter day by day by just being with her. It had come to the point that he couldn't even imagine his life without her in it.

"Someone's in a good mood this morning," Sophie said, watching Theo making French toast. It was a favourite of Sophie's and he was proud that he had learned it. "You usually just do my favourites on weekends."

"Do I need to have a reason to make something for one of my favourite people?" Theo retorted, smiling cheekily at her over his shoulder.

"I suppose not, but something tells me that maybe Mia has something to do with it?" Sophie asked, walking towards the kettle and pouring tea in a cup.

Theo tried not to blush, but he knew it was a lost battle. Sophie had the uncanny ability to read him.

"Maybe she has something to do with it, but I like to think that we're both good to each other." Theo finished making the French toast and placed it on a plate before putting it on the table. "I'm thinking about heading early to the shop to spend some time with Mia."

Sophie smiled knowingly at him. "You do that, Theo. Go spend some time with your girl."

"She isn't—" Theo tried to say, but Sophie dismissed him with a wave of her hand.

"I may be old, but I know a thing or two about romance," Sophie said, smiling cheekily at him. "Put some of these in a tupperware and go have some quality time with Mia."

"Yes, ma'am," Theo replied, not wanting to disagree with Sophie. Especially not when she may be right.

Humming under his breath, Theo put some French toast and syrup in a container before walking towards Page Potpourri. It was a beautiful day and he couldn't wait to be at Mia's side.

It didn't take long for Theo to arrive at the bookshop. Mia was dusting the books—like she did every day—and Theo smiled at it. Walking straight into the shop, the bell jingled to announce his arrival.

"Good morning, beautiful," Theo called out and smiled at the blush blooming on Mia's face.

"Good morning, Theo," she replied. "I didn't expect you to be here today."

"I made French toast for Sophie and thought about bringing some for you," he said, showing her the tupperware. "Thought you would like some."

Mia smiled at him, and he felt his heart start beating fast. But before she thought about grabbing it, she looked straight into his eyes before glancing away; Theo was afraid of what she was going to say.

"Theo, there's something I have to tell you," Mia said, and Theo's eyes zeroed in on her. She was wringing her hands and not looking in his eyes.

"You know you can tell me anything, Mia," Theo said, coming near her and taking her hands. "Just tell me."

Mia finally looked up at him, her brown eyes wide with something akin to worry and fear, but before she could say anything, the bell jingled once more, signalling the arrival of someone. Theo and Hermione both turned their heads towards the door.

"Theo! Finally!" a blonde woman said, walking towards him with a purposeful step.

Theo frowned, "Excuse me, do I know you?"

The woman laughed and put a hand on his arm. "Don't play games, Theodore. I'm Daphne, your girlfriend."

Out of the corner of his eyes, he noticed Mia's face paling, and he felt his own heart constrict.

It was almost like Theo's heart was breaking and his mind couldn't take the pain. Darkness overwhelmed his vision and his eyes rolled to the back of his head before he lost consciousness.
