Hello :P Here is my usual weekly update, I was gonna do it yesterday but I wrote this yesterday and wasn't finished til late so here it is now :P Hope you enjoy, it's kinda long but I kinda like it :3 Oh and I keep adding paragraphs breaks to this story but they won't show up so sorry about that ._.
Ages:
Ash: 32
Misty: 32
Jayden: 15
Katie: 13 and a half
Disclaimer: I own Jayden and Katie in this story :3
I was helping Misty wash the dishes after dinner when someone poked their head round the kitchen door before shuffling in nervously. I didn't have to turn my head from scrubbing a dirty plate because Misty's friendly voice filled the air, informing me who it was.
"Hello Jayden!" she greeted Jessie and James' son before tilting her head on one side, noticing his own questioning look. "Can I do something for you?"
I turned around, now wiping dry the dishes and watched Jayden shuffle in and gratefully sit in the sit Misty was pointing at. I noticed the boy was positively sweating and twiddling his thumbs anxiously. I wonder what on earth the matter was.
"Um yeah, I need to ask you something actually, Misty…" the boy looked at the floor before becoming very flustered and looking up at the lady in front of him. "I- If that's alright…!"
I watched as Misty smiled, taking the seat opposite the pink and purple haired young man.
"Of course that's okay, Jayden, go ahead."
Those two had always got along well as when he was born, the orange haired young lady had already had her mothering instincts. Jayden took a shine to her as a toddler but since they were older and Misty had children of their own, they weren't as close anymore. This didn't hinder the fact that they were both very fond of one and other.
"Um well you see…" Jayden's green orbs fell to the floor and I could see his nails were digging into his palms. The poor child was in a right state over something. "Well, I really like your daughter, Katie and-"
The shy young man couldn't even finish his sentence because Misty let out a loud squeal, clapping her hands together.
"You're asking me if you and Katie can become a couple, am I right?"
Jayden's green eyes grew wide at this before he blushed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Heh yeah, that's right…" he took a deep breath, finally smiling slightly and looking at Misty who had finally composed herself. "I asked my parents and they agreed so-"
Once again poor Jayden couldn't finish his sentence as Misty spun about the kitchen, clutching her heart.
"So James knows! Oh my god you two have been an item even before she was born, I can tell you!"
I met Jayden's gaze and rolled my eyes fondly before beginning to pile up the clean dishes. The green orbed male smiled at Misty politely, nodding his head.
"Yeah I know, my dad told me…" he played with the strand of hair in front of his eyes before sighing once again. "I already asked my parents and you're okay with it so I just need to ask one more person…"
Jayden trailed off and Misty and I exchanged glances, letting out our own gulps.
As if on cue, Ash entered the room, yawning loudly.
"Oh man what a battle!" he grinned excitedly at me, proceeding to tell me about it. Normally I would have been interested but I could feel the tension in the air from Jayden's dilemma. "You shoulda seen Froakie, he was jumping here, jumping there, jumping everywhere!"
"Ooh jumping." Misty smiled as she settled her husband at the table, handing him a glass of lemonade. "As much as we'd love to hear your story, honey, Jayden would like to ask you something."
Ash drained his glass before putting it down on the table, his eyes focusing on the younger male sat across the table from him.
"Oh, okay…" he frowned, wondering what James' son wanted before shrugging. "Shoot."
Jayden peered around the room confusedly before blushing slightly and realised he meant ask Ash the question.
"Um well I asked my parents and they said yes and I asked Misty and she said yes…" he paused, seeing Ash's eyes get more confused by the second. "Mr Ketchum, I'd really like to go out with your daughter, Katie."
Misty and I exchanged glances. I don't know if hers was because Jayden called Ash by his surname or because of the long silence her husband was doing. Either way, the room was filled with tension for quite some time.
"No way…" Ash finally said, frowning and shaking his head. "She's my baby… You stay away from my baby!"
Without another word, Ash stormed off, taking another glass of lemonade with him.
The room was once again filled with silence and nobody spoke before quite a few moments. I sighed, shaking my head sadly. If only Ash could see how much Jayden cared for his daughter.
"I guess that's that then…"
"Don't worry Jayden…" Misty sighed, pushing a glass of soda towards the disheartened young man. "I'm sure Ash will change his mind."
Once again, as if on cue, Ash entered the room once again. I looked up at my best friend, inwardly pulling a face. His face was not angry but it wasn't happy either. Ash's eyes were narrowed but still as gentle as always at the same time.
"Maybe I was too hasty…" he admitted, rubbing the back of his neck and sitting in front of Jayden. "Listen here pal; I'll let you date my daughter… But if you ever hurt her ever-"
Ash didn't have to finish his threat because shy Jayden stood up; giving the older male a firm look.
"I will hurt her, not in my life ever."
At this Ash sighed, his frown disappearing and his eyes becoming completely soft once again.
"I'll trust you with her… Katie means the world to me…"
Jayden smiled at Ash, blushing slightly and playing with his bantering flick of hair.
"She means a lot to me too…"
I watched as Ash finally smiled at the young man before sending Jayden off to tell Katie that they could become an official item.
Misty and I exchanged relieved and happy glances as Ash just went back out into the garden, without saying a single word to either of us.
There was nothing more beautiful than the joining of two young people's hearts. I was lucky to witness the joining of Ash and Misty and Jessie and James. And now, I was lucky enough to witness the joining of their offspring.
The End.
There you go, thanks a lot for reading. I hope you enjoyed, I certainly enjoyed writing a cute and protective Ash T.T Thanks again and I'll definitely see you next week because I've got a story planned for then :P Thanks again :3
