Hey :P Today is Wednesday so as usual I'm uploading. I wrote this one a while ago but found it again so decided to upload it today. It's based on one of my favourite scenes from the film "Chocolat". This chapter basically just shows Misty, James and Katie being big kids :3 I hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer: I own only the story :3
"Oh my god, James, get that worm away from Katie!"
Our picnic was interrupted by Misty letting out a shriek and pointed to the tiny creature that was slowly inching it's way nearer to the red head female's daughter. James sighed over from finishing pumping Ben's football and went over to remove the creature before it sent Misty into cardiac arrest.
James and his family had known been friends with Misty for twelve years and known her even longer than that so it wasn't a surprise when Misty froze whenever she saw any type of bug or bug pokemon. She wouldn't tell anyone why she hated them so and no one ever really questioned it anymore and instead helped.
I smiled fondly from playing with little James and Jessika as Misty finally relaxed now the worm was far away from her daughter. I saw a sneaky glint in her eye and laughed as she looked over to where Ash, Ben and James' sons were playing football. I knew she was hoping the ball would flatten the worm that tried to go near her eldest daughter.
My thoughts were interrupted by James sitting next to Katie on the picnic rug. The orange haired little girl didn't seem bothered at all by the slimy creature; it was just her mother who freaked out. I saw the lavender haired male's eyes light up as she looked and smiled at his goddaughter.
"Are you having fun with Mr Hugsy?" he asked, retying his hair into the ponytail it was already in.
Upon hearing the mention of Katie's number one toy, I looked back over at the scene again from chatting with little James and Jessika. Mr Hugsy was a Cubchoo toy of James' when he was a child and Katie had been quite fond of it ever since she was born. Upon seeing the attachment, James spruced him up and gave the bear to her so now he was Katie's. The two were almost as inseparable as James and Katie were.
Katie nodded and grinned at her Uncle, holding the bear up to his face.
"He was just telling me all of his-all of his favourite foods. He can't get enough s-sweets and chocolate and crisps!"
James and I caught each other's glance and we both laughed fondly as Katie listed all things that a young child enjoyed but were labelled as bad food. The lavender haired male smirked and went back to chatting to his goddaughter.
"Doesn't Mr Hugsy like any healthy food?" he asked Katie before raising his voice so Misty would most definitely hear. "Doesn't he like carrots?"
While the orange haired little girl pulled a face, Misty bounded over to the scene and crossed her arms.
"No he certainly doesn't like carrots. I don't like them and Katie doesn't either so of course he doesn't!"
James wasn't put off by Misty's glare and crossed his arms but in a confident way. By this look, I knew he was about to sass Misty, and badly.
The confident smirk directed at his best friend soon softened as he looked at Katie with a smile and his green eyes warm.
"How can he not like carrots if he's never tasted one?" he mused to the child, earning an even bigger glare off Misty.
She liked her children eating healthy and balanced diets but she couldn't help but be slightly fond of Katie's dislike for the orange root vegetable.
Katie just shrugged at her uncle and hugged her bear before glancing over at the worm from earlier and getting an idea. I watched as the child's eyes were filled with the same look Misty always showed when she was being sneaky.
"Do you like worms?"
James was put off by Katie's sudden question and looked at her with an expression that said "what?" Before he could actually say this word, the little girl spoke once more.
"How do you-how do you know you don't like worms if you've never tasted one?"
I giggled to myself as Katie and Misty high-fived. The two had a wonderful mother and daughter bond and just loved to put their smart minds together to gang up on James.
The green orbed was used to their antics and just shrugged, picking up the worm in his thumb and forefinger.
"What are you doing?" Misty questioned when she saw her best friend's actions as she glanced up from hugging her daughter.
Without replying, James just showed Misty what he was about to do as he pretended to lower the worm into his mouth. Both Misty and Katie let out a screech of horror as he began to chew and attempted to hide the smirk only I could see on his face.
"How is it…?" Katie mumbled from behind hiding her face. She thought her Uncle's actions were disgusting but she was curious what this creature would taste like. Disgusting, I imagined.
James smirked, looking over at Misty while he continued chewing.
"Succulent… Tangy…" he uttered before a shudder went right through his body. "Disgusting."
Misty and Katie smirked at each other as they saw the smirk on James' face go to a look of pure regret. They were too busy talking about how stupid he was that they didn't see him uncurl his fist and free the worm onto the ground.
"Be free, my little friend." He met my eye and laughed as the worm slithered away through the grass.
Katie, and Misty for that matter, never realised they were being tricked by James. I laughed to myself as I curled up on the picnic rug to catch the evening rays. One thing for certain, I definitely preferred James pulling childish tricks than trying to steal me while I slept!
The End.
There you go! Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 You may or may not have noticed but Katie repeats her words sometimes and stumbles because she has a stutter. I've written about it a bit before and hope to do so more in the future :3 I probably won't be uploading next week because on Monday I am flying to Ireland to meet AAML-TAML. I can't believe after almost 3 years I'm going to be able to meet and hang out with her :'D Thanks again and see you when I see you :P
AmyBieberKetchum signing out :3
