Hey :P I wasn't going to upload today because I'm pretty exhausted from work but I decided to stop being lazy and do it. This one is the original version of a few chapters ago, the one called "The One At The Coffee House." It's a bit of James and Katie bonding and her uncle's story telling. I hope you enjoy :3

Ages:

Misty: 25

Ben: 5

Katie: 5

James: 32

Jessie: 32

Disclaimer: I own the story and Ben and Katie :3

"Uncle James, tell me a story."

The orange haired little girl looked up at the older man and wriggled out of the covers he was firmly tucking her under. I smirked from being curled up on Ben's bed, smiling lovingly at the scene. Ash was away doing press conferences all over different regions so Misty, her twins and I were staying in Jessie and James' house for a bit of company and a few laughs. Tonight, Katie wanted her Uncle to tuck her in rather than her mother.

The lavender haired male smiled fondly down at her, attempting to tuck her in once more.

"I already told you and Ben a story…" he quietly sighed, glancing to where Ben was sleeping curled up in a ball. "It's bed time now, sweetheart."

Katie pouted at being gently denied of what she was asking, grabbing hold of her Uncle's hands to persuade him.

"Tonight's story was v-very good but it was about pirates and gold and skulls. Can't you please tell me a-a romantic story?"

James hesitated before leaning backwards to check Misty wasn't hovering around the door. After making sure it was absolutely clear, he sat down and kissed Katie's hands, giving her a loving smile.

"Only because you've been such a good girl and I love you so very much." He laughed before pinching her nose gently and settling down further in the chair he was in. "What kind of story would you like again?"

I stretched from Ben's bed and adjusted my ears so I could hear. I may have been much older than the twins but I still enjoyed a good bit of fiction.

Katie contemplated to herself, looking very much like her mother as she stroked her chin thoughtfully. I think James must have noticed because he looked even more softly at the little girl.

"I've heard about how mommy and daddy met lots and lots of times…" she mumbled before getting an idea and suddenly getting very excited. "Tell me how you got together with Jessie!"

James gave Katie a comical look to hide his embarrassment, tucking her arms back in bed when she flung them out with happy anticipation.

"You want to hear about me and Jessie? Why would you want to hear about that?" he smirked and lied back in the chair, raising a curious eyebrow.

"B-Because I love real life romantic stories!" Katie beamed before yawning and cuddling down in bed with Mr Hugsy. "And also because I don't know many stories about you from the past."

I glanced over at James and he looked back at me with the same expression and look in his eyes. Yeah, there's a reason for that.

James sighed slightly, being unable to resist his goddaughter's sweet and persuasive stare. He rested his arms behind his head before finally nodding.

"Okay well I had this fiancée who I didn't really get along with but to make my life a bit easier, I decided to give her another chance."

Upon hearing this, Katie frowned and poked her head from under the covers.

"You had a fiancée before Jessie who you didn't like? Why an earth did you do that?"

James couldn't help but laugh quietly as she wrinkled her nose in confusion before turning serious and answering.

"It was an arranged thing by my parents, I didn't necessarily agree to it."

Katie frowned even more and began sucking her thumb. She briefly took her finger out of her mouth to speak.

"What kind of parents would do that?"

James nodded and moved his hands to play with his hair, crossing one leg over the other.

"Indeed." He sighed slightly before his eyes going distant with thought. "Everything was going suspiciously well between me and her until one day she stopped being interested with me. Jessie and Meowth were my best friends so naturally I told them."

The orange haired female stretched her legs out under the covers before secretly copying her Uncle's crossed legs and smiled.

"Good friends before getting together? I like that."

James smiled back and nodded in agreement before continuing with his fiction.

"I got a text from an unknown number claiming it was her and she wanted to meet me to explain everything." He sighed, playing with his strand and thinking what he wanted to happen next. "Obviously I went and met the girl and she told me that things weren't working out between us."

Katie was so deep into the story that she let out an unhappy noise, obviously upset for her favourite Uncle.

"I was pretty upset because I thought she was crazy about me and suddenly things were over. We ended up having a, uh, last kiss and I noticed she had blue eyes. My fiancée had green eyes."

The little girl sat bolt upright in bed, glancing over at her Uncle with an apparent frown on her face.

"Her eyes changed colour when she fell out of love with you?"

James laughed quietly and met my gaze before coming to sit next to Katie on the bed.

"No, you see the thing is, it's kind of strange but Jessie looks like my old fiancée, no matter how many times she denies it. That's the truth. She's much better for me though."

Katie curled back under the covers, resting her head on James' lap and listening to him sleepily.

"Jessie cared about you so much she pretended to be her and break up with you before could get hurt even more?"

James smiled and leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to Katie's forehead.

"That's exactly right."

Katie smiled to herself and played with the hem of his shirt before looking back up at him with her aquamarine orbs.

"And what about your kiss? Was it so heartfelt that you didn't have to say anything and you just became boyfriend and girlfriend after that?"

James looked over at me and shook his head fondly before smirking at Katie. She was so like her mother and had such a passion for romance.

"Sure. Of course that's how it happened." He supressed his laughs and looked jokingly down at his goddaughter. "Or it's probably because once you kiss James, you can never go back to normal guys."

Katie stuck her tongue out in disgust at this and hugged onto James' hand protectively. In return, James kissed her hand apologetically before tucking her in bed. Once she was seemingly asleep, he crept out of the room and left the door to behind him.

"Thank you for the story, Uncle James, it was wonderful."

Once James was outside of the room, Jessie approached her husband from behind and Misty came shuffling to his front, tugging on his strand lightly.

"Thank you for filling my daughter's head with complete rubbish, Jim Bob."

The pink haired female laughed and wrapped her arms around him from behind, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Well I thought it was a very sweet story. But it's really odd; I don't remember it happening that way."

Misty smirked before looking James up and down and flicking his nose.

"Yeah for some reason I remember it took a lot of stuttering and blushing and persuasion from me. Not forgetting the fact you can barely say Jessiebelle's name without gagging."

I laughed to myself and curled up with Ben to go to sleep. I wonder if Katie knew that her Uncle was elaborating a story to his own imagination. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how any of it happened, it all ended in the same result and that was lots of happy couples getting together and having families. What has happened to us all in the past few years and all the love and laughter is possibility better than any story James could make up. And for that, we are beyond lucky.

The End.

There you go! It was a bit different but I hope you enjoyed reading it :3 It's really unusual for me to rewrite stories; once I've got them written it's quite hard imagining them a different way but I think I like how this and the second version came out :P I will be back again next Wednesday like always so see you then :P
