Hello :P Today is Wednesday so I am back with a new update. This one is a little bit different, it doesn't really have a purpose as such and just was written to support a headcanon I came up with :P Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Ash: 27

Misty: 27

Jessie: 34

James: 34

Jessika: 6 months

Disclaimer: I own only Ash and Misty's kids :3

"Right, I'll go put the kettle on." Misty smiled, standing up from her position in the arm chair.

I glanced over at James from my position on the window sill in the early autumn sun as he smiled at his best friend.

"Do you need any help?" he looked at her while one of his hands played with his long locks, the other hand linked to the hand of his magenta haired wife.

Misty turned from exiting the room to give the lavender haired man a playful smirk.

"No it's okay, James. You just sit on your regal buttocks and wait for your fangirl Katie to sense you have arrived." She stuck her tongue out at him before sighing fondly. "I swear you're only here to see Jessika."

James pulled an innocent wide eyed face before returning her smirk and squeezing the woman with almost the same name's hand.

"Actually I'm here to see my amazing best friend and joined by the company of the only Jess I need in my life. While the littler one is very cute, unfortunately she is the spitting image of her father."

Upon hearing the older man's joke, Ash glared over from playing with his youngest daughter, his usually handsome face graced with quite the sour expression.

"Y'know I can change her name and little James' name to something else very easily, James. I can do it easier than you think."

James just rolled his eyes at my best friend's attempt of a comeback while Misty shook her head fondly and headed to the kitchen to make drinks.

Jessie let out a laugh at her husband's despairing expression and shuffled closer to his side before turning to look at Ash.

"I can see she takes after you in almost every way."

I smirked and turned to look to where Jessika was tugging hard on her father's front bangs with one hand and pinching his cheek hard with the other.

James smiled lovingly at the fact that Ash was being tortured by his daughter while the latter male let out a noise of slight pain as he tried to move her little hands away.

"Actually a lot of people say she has Misty's face but my colouring. Her personality can be a pain in the ass though." Ash laughed with fondness as he finally pried Jessika away and sat her on his lap.

James glanced at his wife and I before turning to Ash, his mouth turned up in one corner to form his usual smirk.

"Yeah, that's what my wife meant. She can be a pain in the ass because she takes after you."

Upon hearing this, once again Ash's face was taken over by a very sour and hurt look.

"I was joking about the pain in the ass thing. She's just playful and lovely." He smiled before pouting when his daughter challenged his statement by once again, yanking on his hair.

James couldn't help but laugh at Jessika's actions, running a hand through his own hair.

"I can already predict that you'll be bald by the end of the year if she keeps that up."

Jessie laughed at her husband's words and smirked in agreement, playing with the rings on his hand.

"Aw shame. Pokemon Master goes bald. Is it stress or him simply adapting to parenthood once again?"

I let out my own snickers at those two laughed before glancing over at Ash who was laughing for a different matter. Jessika had once again grabbed hold of his nose so he was pinning her down and blowing raspberries on her stomach to make her laugh heartily.

"You're such a little terror you are." Ash laughed in between playing with his daughter, going to throw her up and down in his hands. "I have half a mind to put you into a children's home."

These particular words, though seemingly a joke, caused the laughter in Jessie and James to die down. Ash didn't even notice at first, but following them, a sudden silence took over.

James looked over at his wife with a frown, his hand still linked to hers. Jessie didn't speak but she moved her hand away from her husband and stood up, not making eye contact with anyone.

"Misty's taking a while making drinks. I'm going to help her."

I made eye contact with James and his green orbs were suddenly filled with worry and sadness but he shook it off, choosing to smile and nod at his wife.

Ash came to take Jessie's place and sat next to James, a playful suspicious look on his face.

"I highly doubt she is really helping Misty. Perhaps she's returned to you and her's old ways and is looking around my house for something to steal?"

The raven haired male's attempt in humour didn't go down well with James and he just let out a quiet growl, reaching to give Ash a feeble whack on the shoulder.

Ash did his famous pout of guilt and looked away, playing with Jessika's long mane of hair.

"Did I offend Jessie with my joke? That's crazy; I would never put Jessika or any of our kids into a care home."

James returned Ash's astonished expression with a sudden look of softness and thoughtfulness.

"I know that, Ash. And so does she." He sighed, reaching to stroke Jessika's nose while giving Ash a small smile. "You just hit a nerve."

A lot of other people would know not to pursue any further but Ash wasn't that type. He wasn't mean or ignorant or anything of the sort, my best friend was just very curious.

"I hit a nerve?" he repeated before suddenly nodding, his eyes wide with false enlightenment. "Ohhh you and Jessie donate money and go visit children's homes. Is it horrible there? Is that why I upset her?"

James just sighed once again. I wondered if his sigh was that of despair like normal or awkwardness for the fact he was about to open up.

"No, that's not the reason, Ash." He mumbled before looking at the younger male with a knowing look in his eyes. "Do you really think me and Jessie visit those kids for the free lunch?"

When Ash didn't really understand what James was getting at, he continued.

"Jessie once lived in a foster home. It was awful; there were loads of other kids and barely any money. A lot of the kids were put there because of real behavioural problems, not because they were a baby who tugged on their father's hair."

I could see Ash was quite stunned by this sudden new information but didn't say anything, just letting James tell his wife's story for her.

"Why do you think we want to give our kids everything? That's why. Why do you think I want to be amazing for her and give her everything she deserves? That's why."

Ash continued nodding and frowning for a few minutes before he punched James' shoulder in a friendly way and smiled.

"You guys know I didn't have the best upbringing either. But that doesn't matter because we've all grown into the type of people we all really needed around when we were younger."

I watched as James smiled at the younger male and returned the light punch on his shoulder. I had to give Ash credit because that was one of the most mature and true things Ash had ever said. I believe that is a great moral for us all to follow; grow up to be the person you needed most when you were younger.

The End.

There you go! Thanks a lot for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 So yeah, I recently realised that Jessie used to live in a foster home and decided to headcanon she spent a bit of time in a children's home. Jessie and James (and Ash and Misty and the other couples) are generous with their success and so support a lot of charities. In Jessie and James' case, they also visit children's homes T.T Thanks a lot for reading and see you next week for another Pikachu Tales :P
