Hello :P It is Wednesday so I am back with a new chapter. I had a hard time deciding which chapter I wanted to upload today and then found this one I wrote originally for Halloween before it got replaced by the one I did decide to upload back then. It isn't that Halloween-y so that's why I'm uploading it today. I hope you enjoy this little bit of fun and the adorable pairing of Ash and Misty especially at the start :3

Disclaimer: I own only the story. I definitely don't own Eric or Ariel from the Little Mermaid or Captain Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise :P

"Mistyyyyyy play with meeeee!"

I smirked as I watched my (believe it or not) adult best friend jump up and down on the poolside of the Ketchum family home.

Misty just sighed and wiped her brow from clearing up the toys from the water's edge and looked over at her husband with a raised eyebrow.

"You know I can't, Ashton, I have to clear up the house including the pool before we all go out tonight. I don't want to leave it and come back to a bomb site later.

Ash just scowled stubbornly and reached for the mop before his wife could, giving her a playful smile and twirling it about in his hand.

"But I wanna play with someone."

The red haired woman returned her husband's playful look with a mischievous smirk as she snatched the mop out of his hand and threatened to wipe his face with it. When Ash took a frantic step backwards, Misty laughed and went back to tidying.

"Go find the twins and play with them, you big child."

Ash groaned dramatically and stood by the pool edge, folding his arms.

"You know they're not ready and still with my mom. C'mon, beautiful, you know you wanna play with me."

Misty blushed slightly as her husband blew a kiss in her direction but she shook it off and went back to giving him an in control smirk.

"Sorry Ashton, not right now."

My raven haired best friend scowled and took a step backwards, nearer to the water's edge.

"Stop calling me that. You know that's not my name. Not tonight anyway." He grinned at her and gestured at his white shirt that was tucked into navy blue trousers.

Misty took a step forward and ruffled Ash's hair with her spare hand before looking down at her mermaid tail skirt.

"In that case, don't call me Misty because that's not my name for tonight either." She proceeded to flick his nose playfully which got Ash's hopes up. He was really desperate for a play mate.

My best friend was jumping around like an excited puppy but it soon stopped when Misty went back to tidying her daughter's flip flops from the pool's edge. Ash just sighed and glanced over at me.

No playing for me yet; I'm not in costume.

The tanned male once again let out a dramatic sigh and took a step backwards, closer still to the edge of the pool. He turned around to glance at me with a playful gleam in his eye. Suddenly I got the gist and my mind was filled with a mixture of despair and dread.

No, Ash, you know it's going to end badly.

Before I could object, Ash suddenly flung himself backwards in the water and pretended to drown.

Upon hearing the loud splash, Misty gasped loudly and dropped her mop and peered frantically down into the water.

"Ash? Oh god Ash did you fall in again? You're such a moron you better not be drowning!"

The red haired woman was about to drop everything and dive into the water when I caught her attention and looked at her right in the eye.

Misty's head snapped up and her eyes began flicking with thoughts as she began to notice that I was completely calm. After just a few seconds, she understood.

"Oh, he's playing…" she muttered and rolled her eyes fondly before finally doing as her husband wished and dived in the water.

I watched as Misty swam about looking for the fairly obvious lump of Ash that was bobbing very close to the surface. Those two were playing now so of course she ignored him. 'The Mermaid' swam frantically to the surface and flipped her hair out of her eyes and called at the top of her lungs.

"Someone help me! My Prince has drowned at sea and I have looked everywhere for him but I can't find him! Please help!"

Suddenly familiar orchestra music filled the pool room and someone came swaying in, flicking his dreadlocks out of his eyes and squinting down into the water at the red haired.

I glanced at Misty as she choked on a laugh before covering her mouth with her hand.

"Wow James, you look so like him."

The man just frowned and dismissed her words with a wave of his heavily ringed hand. He opened his mouth and spoke in rough, British accent.

"Well of course I would look like him, I am him." He sighed and bent down to her level, moving the piece of eight from his eyes. "You obviously have heard of me but I haven't heard of you. Are you the damsel in distress that needs rescuing?"

Misty tried to hide her smirk and get back into character. She took a deep breath before putting on a desperate look on her face again.

"No I'm fine but it's my Prince. My Prince has drowned at sea and I can't find him."

The pirate man smiled down at the mermaid and reached into his pocket for a compass.

"You have no idea how lucky you are that I came along at the right moment."

James turned around when Ash suddenly gasped and came to the surface before hiding back under again. The older man decided to ignore his outburst and continued acting.

"This is my compass." He waved his finger in the mermaid's face before opening it for her to see. "It ain't any old compass, love, this thing does nothing but lead you to the thing you want most in this world. I figure you want nothing more than to save your prince so go ahead."

He smiled at the red head and pressed the object into her hand. I couldn't help but smirk as Ash scowled and glared with his eyes peeping just above the surface.

The mermaid nodded gratefully at the pirate and followed his instructions on how to get it to work. After a few minutes of the needle spinning wildly around, it finally settled on a point. When Misty realised where it was pointing, she just glared while James let out a laugh and remained in character.

"Well, what do you know, it's pointing at me!"

Misty just huffed and snapped the compass shut, not saying anything but sticking her nose in the air.

James hid a smirk and fought desperately to try and continue their little game.

"Sorry, darling, my only love is the sea."

Upon him saying that, Misty broke character and gave him a whack on the head.

"You must be controlling it with a magnet or something!"

Upon hearing this accusation, the pirate pulled a false hurt face before pretending to rub his cheek.

"I didn't deserve that one." He sighed as he took the compass back and set it to work again.

James' smug expression took over the rogue pirate as the needle pointed in the direction of Misty this time.

Before either of the two in question could speak, Ash came splashing over and threw the compass into the water.

"That's enough the game is over. You were meant to help Ariel help me and fall in love with me all over again!"

James just shrugged and flipped his dreadlocks in Ash's irritated face.

"It's not my fault I'm irresistible in the movies and in real life."

Before me and Misty knew what had happened, Ash lunged at James and somehow managed to pull off his wig. James let out a shriek and his hands went to his normal purple hair.

"My wig! Misty go rescue it please!" he gasped in horror as he watched it slowly sinking to the bottom of the pool.

While Misty did just that, Ash folded his arms in a contempt and smug way.

"Serves you right for wearing pretty little eyeliner. Only girls wear that."

James glared at Ash's comment before thinking of a comeback and shutting his eyes in a snooty way.

"There's nothing wrong with being a girl. And you would know because you're wearing what looks like a female's blouse."

A few minutes later, Delia came strolling in with Ben and Katie on either side of her and witnessed what only could be described as Captain Jack and Prince Eric having a bust up while Ariel searched the sea floor for a wig.

You would think she'd be quite disturbed by the scene but instead she clapped her hands and reached for the camera.

"Oh how brilliant!" she squealed as she pressed the shutter multiple times. "You kids really do know how to have fun!"

I couldn't help but laugh from the water's edge and agree with the older woman. Our kind of fun may be crazy to other people but it made us feel happy and that's all that mattered. It seems in this world, loads of people are chasing happiness when it really is under all our noses. Happiness is the little things and in our group, the little things create big laughs.

The End.

There you go! Thanks a lot for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I love how I said in the last chapter I'm trying to write about different characters for a change then the next week upload the typical trio. I just enjoy their interactions so much and how Ash tries to insult James but always ends up huffing in the end :P I think this chapter explores further into their dynamics and they always get super excited for Halloween or any fancy dress because they get to dress up and get really into their characters. Especially now they have children. I headcanon that the ones they dressed up as in this chapter are kind of their go to costumes but they do dress up as other people :3 Thanks a lot for reading and I'll be back next week so see you then!
