Hello :P It is Wednesday and I am back with a new chapter. This one happens to be my 100th one for this story and also on the 9th May this year, it has been four years since I joined FanFiction. I want to upload this particular chapter because it focuses on Ash and Misty and Jessie and James, who I have really been writing about since the beginning. This story was also inspired by some wonderful art of my best friend AAML-TAML (now aaml-anidala on deviantart) where she drew Ash and Misty in the pose that takes place at the end of the fic. Without FanFiction I wouldn't have her as the best friend ever and I wouldn't have writing as one of my creative outlets. I hope you enjoy this :3
Ages:
Ash: 25
Misty: 25
Jessie: 32
James: 32
Disclaimer: I own the story :3
"Ugh Ash for the last time, stop doing that pose!"
I glanced up from my position on the sofa to smirk over at my best friend who was rolling his sleeves up and flexing. I smirked. He had quite the proud look on his face for a few seconds before it turned pouty and he put his arms by his sides. He scowled and furrowed his brow at James.
"Uh what's wrong with that pose?"
James was about to reply to the Pokémon master when Jessie came over and rolled her eyes fondly at Ash while putting a calming hand on her husband's back.
"What's right with that pose?"
A stubborn blush streaked across Ash's nose but luckily his own wife stepped in and retorted so he didn't have to waste his time attempting to come up with smart remarks. She faked an irritated gasp and shook her head at the older female.
"I think that pose makes my husband look hot." She smirked before laughing when she saw her best friend's disapproving face, her hands moving to her hips. "I do agree though. It's not really appropriate for this shoot."
James sighed in agreement and peered over the photographers shoulder to check out the shots that had already been taken.
"I don't think any of these shots are appropriate for this shoot. God, Ash, put your arms around your wife or something or do you want me to show you how?"
Ash didn't exactly understand sarcasm sometimes and let out his own very real and very annoyed gasp before wrapping his arms tightly just below Misty's chest. The red headed female let out a sharp gasp at the action which caused James to growl protectively.
"Stop!" he hissed, coming toward Misty and stroking her belly caringly and smiling at his best friend before glaring at her husband. "Be careful. There's a little baby in there."
The raven haired male pouting stubbornly but soon nodded in agreement and let go of his wife before taking over and stroking her stomach just as tenderly. Misty smiled fondly at her two fussing favourite male's, her cheeks going pink with love when she looked down at her abdomen.
"Are you sure you can't tell I'm pregnant? I mean I know we would have announced it by the time the pictures are released but I just want it to be about Ash and I as newlyweds rather than about our new bundle."
My two best friends had recently got married so there was no one more perfect in the public eye and perfectly crazy about each other to be the faces of Jessie and James' clothing companies' spring line. They had done it together multiple times but this was the first one while married and with a baby on the way.
Jessie glanced over at the in love couple from attempting to smooth down Ash's mane for the shoot. Both she and her husband were so supportive of them bringing yet another baby Ketchum into the world, especially since they had quite the lovely and large family of their own.
"Don't you worry, Misty, you're too early on to really see anything, even with that outfit. But you'll always remember that you did this shoot with the little baby with you."
James stopped looking lovingly between two of his favourite girls and let out a snort and showed off his trademark smirk.
"Just to be clear, my wife means the little baby growing inside you and not the one you decided to marry."
Everyone in the room laughed out loud at this except for Ash and the photographer who was pointing at his watch to indicate it was time to hurry up.
James caught his wife's eye and raised an eyebrow, wrapping a casual arm around her.
"Anyway… Back to the shoot and hopefully this time we can come up with the perfect pose for you two."
Everyone working towards the shoot smiled optimistically. Despite the confident beginning, let me tell you that not even half an hour later, everyone was growing tired and weary. Mainly, they were tired and weary over Ash's ludicrous and sometimes inappropriate idea of what the poses should be.
I glanced over from minding the twins on the set to hear James sigh for the hundredth time while his wife bought coffee to him in his chair.
Misty was growing just as fatigued as the rest of the crew but Ash was high on a buzz of what he thought was good ideas. He skipped around in front of the white screen and watched James accept the beverage from his wife.
"How much of that stuff are you going to drink?"
James just ran his fingers through his hair and took a big gulp before rubbing his forehead.
"Loads." He muttered and put his cup on the side before standing behind the photographer once again and shaking his head. "And can you blame me with you about? Each shot you end up trying to steal the show!"
The lavender haired male tried to say this sternly but he ended up laughing slightly. This was a typical "Ash" thing to do and Ash knew it because he scrunched up his face and grinned.
Misty was too exasperated with her husband at this point and didn't show any indication of her finding this cute. Jessie smirked at this and came to join her partner in life.
"This is a couple shoot so you need to be united and one like you are in marriage." She muttered and looked at the previous shots before finally taking charge. "Ash, put your arms around Misty but make it as natural as possible."
The raven haired male nodded slowly and thought for a few seconds before resting his chin on his wife's head in a loving manner while wrapping his arms protectively around his wife.
Misty blushed and smiled at his actions and tilted her head backwards to smile lovingly at him. I saw the photographer take these shots and thought they were adorable. Absolutely perfect for the home but not quite what Jessie and James were after.
Ash sighed when he had to keep posing and tried to make his back straighter to seem a bit taller than Misty.
"Come on. I'm sure those shots were perfect." He glanced down at his wife tiredly, his voice beginning to whine to show he was definitely ready for almost home time.
James shook his head at his whine before stroking his chin and looking at the shots. He couldn't help but smile when he saw the cute couple but turned it into a competitive, playful smirk at Ash.
"Yeah they are pretty perfect considering you took charge on that one."
Upon hearing this, Ash shut his eyes in a cocky manner and poked his tongue out at this. Just at that moment, Misty laughed at his expression and quickly raised her two index fingers above Ash's head like horns.
Jessie and James gasped and gave the signal. The room was filled with a bright light of the flash going off. They had all done it. The perfect picture had been taken.
Nobody had to utter these words as they all knew it was true. We all rushed over to the computer to view it.
Jessie beamed and nodded excitedly, putting her hands on the couple's shoulders before giving a thumbs up.
"Yes. That's it. That's the shot."
While Ash, Misty and Jessie congratulated each other, James smiled and put his glasses on, looking happily at the picture. The other three didn't need to say a word but James was the soulful one and just had to.
"That photo definitely captures the essence of who you two are. Grown up together and been through some stuff but still stay playful and in love, just like when you were teenagers. Babies and marriage have come along since but the love still remains. And it always will."
I wasn't sure if Ash and Misty were blushing at the happiness of what they had just done or James' wonderful words. I believe everybody in that room heard them but that wasn't what counted. James had said the truth from his heart and he was right.
Love is a fire but doesn't always have to burn out. If you do it right and with passion and care, it can survive anything. You can end up in love forever and sharing the rest of your lives together. Love that you share as teenagers can last until your memory fades but your adoration for one and other still remains. You can love giddily, romantically and recklessly. Your love story can be small in the giant world but all that matters in your world. Just like Ash and Misty. Their love is eternal and their story will last forever.
The End.
There you go! Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I really wanted to upload this chapter today because like I said, it focuses a lot on how I began. I think my writing style has probably changed since 2012 and I am happy with the direction I'm heading in. I don't read my old stuff though so I'm not sure how much I have changed :P Thank you all so much for the reviews and kind words from 2012 until now and on my first ever story to the ones I upload now. I wouldn't have met Shannon without this and I definitely think I wouldn't be myself if I didn't have these stories to create and these characters to write about. Thank you for reading and hopefully enjoying these sometimes personal and sometimes crazy chapters of mine. I hope to continue doing this for a long time :) Thanks again and I'll be back next Wednesday so see you then!
