Hello :P Like I said when I last updated Dear Darlings, I am back today with a special little extra chapter before next months chapters are all Christmas themed. I am so excited to be uploading this one. This is the introduction of Jordan and Lynne, Misty's parents, in the flesh and on one of their visits from up there. Me and AAML-TAML have been developing their characters and little ideas for them all summer and I've written quite a few chapters about them that will be uploaded in the new year. I really hope you enjoy this. Jordan and Lynne are so very close to my heart :3
Ages:
Misty: 27
Baby James: 1 Year Old
Jordan: 32 (He died at 32 so stays that age forever now.)
Lynne: 30 (She died at 30 so stays that age forever now.)
Disclaimer: I own the story and Jordan, Lynne and Baby James with AAML-TAML :3
I breathed out happily to myself as I perched on the shoulder of my best friend's orange haired wife and peered through the crack in the door. My paw rested happily near her neck as together we watched the yellow haired man flicking through a book with his infant grandson on his knee and his orange haired wife on the arm of the chair. I saw Misty wasn't looking at me and was staring straight ahead at them but I smiled at her and nuzzled her neck anyway. I knew she had been waiting a lifetime to witness a sight as simple as that.
Jordan smiled as the chestnut haired infant babbled and grinned, his chubby little hands patting on the pages as he turned them once again. He nodded and smiled at baby James, pressing a kiss to his head.
"You like that photo, do you, little man?" he asked the little boy before letting out a contented noise, gently moving his hand and stroking the photograph himself. "That's one of my favourites too. That's me and your Nanny Lynne planting all the plants and bushes outside the Cerulean Gym when it just opened."
Upon hearing his grandmother's name, the clever little boy turned his head to look at the orange haired older female. Lynne had one arm rested firmly on her husband's strong neck but she moved the other one to tickle James under the chin and smiled at him, causing him to smile shyly back and let out a little coo.
Jordan's green orbs lit up with love at watching his beloved wife make her grandson almost as happy as she made him. He wrapped his spare arm further around her and pressed a lingering kiss to the side of her head.
I couldn't help but smirk fondly at unlike his two older siblings; James didn't get jealous nor try and stop the affection between the older couple and continued busying himself by patting the photos in the album that was on his grandfather's lap. The little boy's obliviousness allowed them to share a gentle peck on the lips before Jordan sighed contentedly to himself and let James turn the page once again.
The shy little boy let out a screech as he looked down at the next photo, his arms banging wildly on it and his green orbs matching his grandfather's filled with joy. Both Jordan and Lynne giggled lovingly at this and both Misty and I's hearts filled with love from watching outside the door.
Little James had always been a shy and quiet little boy and Jordan had been a shy and sensitive man. Everybody in the house agreed they were quite similar and they got on like a house on fire. They both allowed one and other show sides of themselves that normally took a bit of coaxing out. It was truly a grandfather and grandson bond that made you stop and just smile at.
Lynne smiled down at her adorable little grandson and reached out to stroke his hair gently with her hand. After he looked up at her with wide orbs, she looked back down at the photo and explained that one to him while her husband listened contentedly.
"That's a photo of the docks where your Grandad Jordan and I first met. We spent so much time there, just being with each other and talking. Even now if I shut my eyes, I can picture each and every bit of the surroundings. I can remember how exactly it smelled and how it felt to rest my head on Jordan's chest."
Little James was too young to appreciate the romantic sentiment behind Lynne's words like both Misty and I did. He did, however, appreciate her motherly and soothing voice and was happy to listen to her tone while me and Misty glanced at each other and smiled at what she said.
It was clear from when they visited the first time that Jordan and Lynne had been teenage sweethearts and each other's one and only and first loves. They had been through ups and downs, tears and smiled, joyous times and heartbreak but they still looked at each other exactly the same way as they did in the photos of them in their youth. They were yet another definition of love. As long as you look for that love, it will always be there. Even in the hardest and most unlikely times.
Jordan smiled lovingly at her words and listened. He remained quiet and just reflected on them as Lynne stroked James' cheek before turning the page once more. When all three of them looked down at the next photo and the little boy cooed with curiosity, Jordan smiled even more and pulled his wife as close to him as he possibly could. His fingers combed through her long and slightly amber locks as he spoke with purity.
"The house we built together just after we got together and just before we got pregnant with our first baby…" the blonde haired male mumbled to them both as he stroked the photo, reflecting on those times all those years ago. Lynne smiled and waited for him to continue, resting her head on his chest and shutting her eyes.
I wondered if it felt the same as it did all those years ago. But now doubt her husband had gotten stronger, they both had. Not just physically but mentally as well. They were one of the strongest couples I knew.
I saw Jordan's shy cheeks blush happily at Lynne's contact and he pulled her head closer to him, his hand stroking the hair by her ear as he decided to continue. As he spoke, his eyes were remaining looking at the photo and his other hand was stroking it. James cuddled into his stomach and listened as well.
"Aside from our little boat and before we started a family, that was one of the first things we owned. That house and that building we soon turned into a gym. It was tired and it was run down but our young love and the optimism you, Lynne, provided me made it come alive. We worked hard and we made it what it would eventually be for many years to come. It was crappy but it was ours. And we loved it because it was ours. We could finally just be together. No people getting in the way. Just our own love and our own problems that we would fix together. One of my first chunks of happiness."
Lynne smiled lovingly at her husband's words and stroked his ear, opening her eyes to look up at him as her ear remained pressed to his thumping chest. He looked back down at her and their eyes met. They both showed off that gaze of pure love and it was identical to a photo that little James was gently thumping as he began to drift off to sleep.
Her look soon turned playful and her mouth turned into a smirk as she poked his chest gently and cuddled back into him, still thinking about what he said.
"It was one of the first things that were ours alright. Until we had our first daughter and then we never stopped. Daughters galore. You were surrounded by women."
Jordan chuckled upon hearing this and he pulled James closer as he noticed he was asleep, his eyes remaining looking into Lynne's ocean blue ones the entire time.
"I may have been surrounded by women but I sure was in my element…" he let out a quiet sigh as Lynne stroked his hair, a sigh that was a mixture of reflection and contentment. "Those simple days were some of the happiest of my life. My heart never forgot them during the dark times, even if my brain did a little bit."
When Lynne saw her husband trail off a little bit and his eyes grew hazy with regret and he looked down, she tilted her head on one side, lifting his chin back up so he was looking at her. She pressed a kiss to his nose before smirking playfully at him, deciding to pull him out of a potential low moment with humour.
"You were in your element with us girls, huh? That certainly didn't stop you heading off to join the navy for a year when Daisy was two and I was pregnant with Violet." She giggled playfully when her husband pulled a face, lifting James carefully off his lap and going to tuck the little boy into his crib.
Jordan narrowed his eyes before laughing quietly; playfully resting his hand on her lower back as she lowered James into his cot and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"Hey that was what I planned on doing with my life until you came along aka not part of the plan and I fell in love with you. Besides, you were the one who told me to go." He pretended to raise an annoyed eyebrow at his wife as he too leaned down to press a kiss to the little boy's forehead.
Lynne giggled airily and shrugged, leaning against the bars of the cot as she looked at Jordan and reached out to give him a light jab in the shoulder.
"You still decided to stay away after I told you and left me for a year."
Jordan stood back up to his full height and pretended to let out a gasp of hurt before he grinned. He wrapped an arm around her and patted her playfully on the thigh.
"I actually only went for 6 months before I couldn't bare being away from my girls any longer and decided to come home. I also had a feeling you were expecting and I was right and came home to my beautiful pregnant wife. Just call me a magician."
The orange haired female rolled her eyes at her husband but couldn't help but laugh lovingly at him, her eyes shining. Jordan laughed back and pulled her closer as he walked out with her, shutting the light off for the little boy to sleep.
Lynne pressed a kiss to his cheek as the room went dark, flicking his nose and opening the door.
"I can think of a lot of names to call you but a magician isn't one of them." She smirked and pushed his arm off her and opened the door fully to walk out.
Jordan was shaking his head and looking at the back of his wife, his eyes glinting playfully when he followed her out into the hall and they came face to face with us. Lynne let out a small noise of surprise and her husband took this opportunity to sneakily wrap his arm back around her.
Most of his attention went back to his beloved daughter and I as he shut James' door behind him and smiled gently at Misty. He was about to ask what was wrong by her embarrassed and suspicious look on her face when he suddenly twigged it and smirked. He reached his other hand out to poke her cheek gently.
"I can always tell what you're up to, my girl." He continued smirking, going on tiptoes even though he was quite a tall man and really didn't need to. "You were spying on your old dad and your mom, eh? Want to hear the family gossip I suppose?"
Misty couldn't help but laugh at her father's words and rolled her eyes fondly, shoving his hand away and playfully going on tiptoes herself.
"You sure can be full of yourself and full of crap sometimes." She hummed cheekily before going back on her normal height, stroking my cheek as she spoke. She smiled at her parents. "I just wanted to make sure I said goodnight to you."
Lynne beamed lovingly and in a motherly way upon hearing this and wrapped her arms around her waist, pressing a kiss to her cheek. Jordan pretended to pout at Lynne no longer hugging him before he smiled almost shyly at Misty, playing with his hair.
"I would never go to bed without saying goodnight to you, my girl."
I'm not ashamed to admit that a lump filled my throat upon hearing this as I was one of the few people who knew the significance of his words and the emotional connection with them. Misty of course knew and she smiled at her dad, her eyes shining with slight tears of all different emotions. She blinked them back and continued hugging her mom, playing with her hair somewhat shyly back.
"You can come say goodnight in my room tonight, can't you?"
Jordan was a sensitive fellow and felt things very deeply but he also had a wicked sense of humour and never passed the opportunity to make a joke if he had one. He pretended to make a childlike mocking face at his daughter as he made his eyes wide.
"Awww do you need mommy and daddy to tuck you into your bed?" he stuck his bottom lip out at her, pretending to look down at her in a patronising way.
Misty rolled her eyes once again upon hearing this and pretended to shove him, moving away from her mother's hug to hold her hand instead. She pushed past the urge to joke with her father back and smiled at him.
"Well Ash is away tonight and my bed is already slightly mildly warm so you might as well crash with me. We can have a Williams and a was Williams sleepover."
Both Jordan, Lynne and I laughed out loud upon hearing this and none of us dared to object. Soon enough, Ash and Misty's big bed was filled with Jordan, Lynne, Misty and I.
Just the lamps and the fairy lights were on. The curtains were shut and the room was aglow with love.
I cuddled into Misty's chest as she held onto me. Misty rested her head on her mother's chest as her mother stroked her hair in a motherly way. Jordan pulled both his girls close and kept his eyes open, his green orbs sparkling with love and his heart thumping with a sense of belonging.
He kept his eyes open as he spoke into the warm and orange glow, not caring if when he said what was in his heart, his eyes filled with tears or showed a hint of vulnerability. He pulled his girls even closer as he spoke to them.
"I never knew how sad I used to be until your mother and you girls showed me happiness even in times of sadness. I never knew how broken I was until I found you again and became whole at last."
Misty shut her eyes with emotion upon hearing this and she swallowed the lump in her throat, just listening to her father's words. Lynne cuddled further into her husband's chest, stroking it as she replied back to him in the serene room.
"I didn't ever think I would be lucky to love a man as amazing and strong as you, Jordan. I knew that if you could keep on living even if at times you didn't want to, then I could keep on living and make the best out of each last day I had with you all. You all gave me strength until the very end and of course in my new beginning, when I was looking down on you all."
A lump filled my own throat as I listened to all of the Williams' open up to one and other and I cuddled further into Misty's chest as she let out a quiet sniff. She didn't speak for a moment and then she opened her mouth. She hesitated but she soon spoke, not caring that her voice was trembling. She spoke from the heart.
"I always knew there was stuff missing from my life and I knew exactly what it was. There were times when I wish I hadn't known either of you at all because then I wouldn't know what I was missing out on. But now here I am and I'm glad that I felt every inch of that pain because both of you are so worth it. I am so lucky to be able to have you back on these temporary visits. I am even luckier that you have witnessed me fall in love myself and that you get to be a part of my children's lives now too. I wouldn't be without you. I don't know how I survived without you before but I know I won't have to feel that anymore. I know you are here for me, even if you can't physically be with me every second of the day. And I will always be there for you too, always."
We all sniffed and cuddled each other tighter as Misty finished her words. They all remained there for the longest time while I reached down and carefully pulled the duvet further over them all before cuddling into Misty's chest. As they held tightly onto one and other, I just watched them. I looked at each and every one of their expressions. Their mouths were quirked into the most contented smiles. Their cheeks were flushed with love. Their eyes sparkled like stars in the night sky. I didn't stay awake long enough to watch their eyes finally shutting. I knew in my heart they neither of them wanted to shut them. But when they eventually did and they all drifted off to sleep holding one and other, they were all thinking of the same thing. They were thinking of each other. And I knew that this moment was what they had been dreaming about every night for as long as they had been apart.
The End.
There you go! Thank you so much for reading and I really hope you enjoyed :3 I really do love the characters of Jordan and Lynne that Shannon and I came up with from scratch. It's been so much fun coming up with each little sad and happy moment of their lives and backstories. I will be definitely writing more about their pasts soon and like I said, I have a lot of chapters with them to upload. I really am fond of their characters. I love how Jordan got a second chance to be a father to Misty again and for her and everyone to accept him, despite his struggles. It's also nice for he and James (Morgan) to have the friendship they have because they are pretty similar. Also Baby James reminded Misty of her father from the moment he was born so it's nice she can see those sensitive souls interacting :3 Thanks again and I will be back next Wednesday with the first Christmas themed chapter of December and this year. See you then!
AmyBieberKetchum signing out :3
