Hello :P It is Wednesday and I am back with a new update a few weeks later than I said. I think I've decided to stop uploading so frequently now as (for now) I haven't been writing much and have been critical of the ones I do write. I'm still going to upload Pikachu Tales on Wednesday's but it might not be every Wednesday of the month. I will of course keep up with Dear Darlings/whatever I upload on the 28th of each month. So just a heads up :P I am happy this one is sort of my come back chapter. It focuses on James and Jordan whom I adore together and separately. I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own Jordan, Lynne and Jessie's parents :3

"Alright, I'm done with this now." Jordan suddenly announced to James as he stopped crossing blades with the dressed up lavender haired male and sat down cross legged on the floor, taking his sailor cap off as he sunk into the carpet.

James blinked for a few moments as their game had suddenly come to an end but he soon shrugged and smiled, dropping his pretend sword on the ground. He gave his almost best friend a comfortable smile as he copied his actions and sat opposite him on the carpet.

"Okay, buddy." He nodded his head and took off his pirate hat and ran his fingers through his lavender locks as he saw Jordan doing the same to his.

I smirked fondly from my position and rolled onto my back, leaning my head backwards so I could relax but continue watching what those two were doing. I don't know how they had got there but it was splendid either way. I wasn't sure why they enjoyed dressing up as sailor and pirate and pretending to go on adventures together but I didn't wish to question it further. They were having fun and it was a lot of fun to watch. If I had to analyse it and guess, however, I would assume it was because they felt they missed out on a chunk of their childhood for one reason or another. I giggled to myself as just as I made this deep assumption, Jordan pretended to balance the sword on his nose like a seal. Maybe they did just like having a laugh.

James sure did laugh at his friend no matter how goofy his actions were and came to flop next to me on the sofa, reaching out to stroke my stomach as he did so. I smiled and let out a contented noise as the yellow haired male let out a relaxed sigh and flopped onto the opposite sofa to us. He rested his chin on his hand as he sprawled out.

I could see James' expression change to an even more playful one as he mentally noted that Jordan was sprawling about in a very similar way to my best friend. I looked over at him and we shared a smirk but didn't say anything. Jordan would either pout or laugh. Regardless if he agreed or not, there really were some similarities between father and son in law.

James shook off his playful expression and moved onto his back himself, resting his arms behind his head and glancing over at the similarly green orbed male. He smiled as he spoke to him.

"So you're having a good time down here, are you bud?"

I watched as Jordan's sometimes broken and distant expression light up as he nodded his head and his cheesy smile lit up the room. What James had said had been an understatement. Jordan was reunited with both his girl and his Misty. What could be better? That man struggled deeply but his girls always soothed his rough waves that crashed within.

The lavender haired male smiled happily at Jordan's reaction and just nodded his head, liking the fact he didn't have to express with words what he felt and the other male just understood. They were both deeply family men. They had been raised on such different circumstances but in some ways, very much the same. It's funny how sometimes if you're raised with a lack of love, you often find it hard to give to other people. Those two were far from that instance. They had some of the biggest hearts I knew.

Jordan breathed out happily and thought about his blessings of his Lynne, his daughter, his grandchildren and his whole new true family for quite some time before finally replying to his green orbed best friend.

"Having the time of my life, man." Jordan replied contentedly before making an effort to stretch across the two sofas and give me a special tickle under the chin. After I let out a contented noise, my best friend's father in law resumed his position on the sofa. "I'm back down here on earth with my little saviour and I'm getting to share with her the things that make her so happy. I sure can't complain about that."

James nodded his head and let out a happy noise for his pal before reaching across and picking up where Jordan left off and scratching under my chin. It couldn't get any better for me either. Those two were both sensitive souls who had a streak of darkness but now they had met, everything balanced out. They bought out good in each other and that did nothing but shine on us all. It was an understatement to say I was basking in everybody's joy and affection.

The two shared a contented silence for another few minutes before the ex-rocketeer broke it once again. He gave Jordan a soft smile and eyes that only meant kindness and good intentions as he spoke.

"Things have been better for you recently, haven't they?"

These words could have possibly led to awkwardness and tension for some people or between some groups but not ours. Jordan was very open about his depression and his struggles. In his words, if you weren't talking about it, you were crying about it and that was no good. It was better to be open than secretive and suffer alone. At least, that's how Jordan dealt with it. And we were all more than happy to lend an ear for this sweet man.

Jordan gave James a somewhat shy smile and he twiddled his thumbs but you could tell he was relaxed talking with his good friend about his feelings.

"Well, you know it never goes away and is always in the back but for now, I'm doing pretty damn well. Loving people helps. And there are a lot of great people here to love and that only eases my worries all the more."

James showed off another smile to show he was truly happy for this and he reached out to pat Jordan in an affectionate way. After Jordan patted him happily back and reached to ruffle the fur on my head, the lavender haired male broke the silence once again.

"There are a lot of worthwhile people here to love." He replied simply but sincerely as he rested one arm behind the back of his head and played with his hair with the other.

Jordan nodded and smiled with his eyes back before his mouth twitched into a playful smile. He rolled onto his front. Their game of pirate and sailor had been over for quite some time now but Jordan was started a new one up at that very moment. A game of teasing James. Or rather, a game of trying to make James blush. He rolled back onto his back and rested his arms casually behind his head as he spoke to James.

"You would know about that, wouldn't you, Jimmy? You sure have given my wife a good loving recently."

Jordan smirked all the more when he got the reaction he wanted and the lavender haired male's cheeks (and chest) flushed a brilliant shade of pink. He narrowed his eyes at him and pouted.

"I just admire her, that's all." He was quick to defend himself at the clear respect and affections he had for his best friend's mother before deciding two could play at that game Jordan started. He rested both arms behind his head as he teased him back. "Besides, she's not actually your wife."

I couldn't help but giggle as James smirked smugly at Jordan and Jordan narrowed his eyes and was the one to pout this time. Technically, the lavender haired male was right. Back when they were young and in love, Jordan had been called to go into the navy and forced their wedding to be postponed. Then when it finally almost happened a bit later, he had a battle with nerves and ran from the altar. None of that mattered though and both James and Jordan and of course, Lynne, knew that. Misty's parents love was as deep and as pure and as raw as you could get. It was yet another definition of true love.

After the two boys bickered for a while over Lynne and they burst into fits of laughter together, Jordan ran his fingers through his hair and smiled to himself.

"It is amazing seeing Lynne with Misty though. My girl must have missed out so much about teenager talks and boys and growing up and feelings and just mother and daughter stuff. It really is better late than never. It's a lovely thing to see."

James nodded and smiled upon hearing his words, looking at him before continuing to nod but his eyes being glazed with a slight melancholy quality. He let out a sigh – not one particularly sad or bored or broken – just a sigh before glancing back at Jordan.

"One person who understands that more than anyone is Jess. Losing your parents is agony, I can see that. But for a girl to not grow up with that special bond is awful. It seems to me that you really don't know a massive part of yourself if you have a bad relationship or no relationship with your mother, let alone when she's a kind person and you're forced to lose her."

Jordan let out a similar sigh and nodded his head, thinking to himself. He was about to reply with more depth and wisdom before he got side-tracked. He sat up on the sofa and folded his legs beneath him.

"I don't think I've ever seen a photo of Jessie's mom. I mean, I might have done somewhere but I've never had her pointed out to me."

James blinked for a second at Jordan's words before giving him a small smile, sitting up himself and heading to the cupboard to reach for a photo album.

"I'll show you her. I know she won't mind."

The yellow haired male gave his buddy the same smile back before grinning mischievously, playing with his feet under his legs.

"With the way I share my wife with you, I think the least you can do is show me a photo of your wife's mother."

I giggled myself upon hearing this and James narrowed his eyes but instead of giving a snarky or sassy remark back, he soon just smiled and pushed away his blush.

"She's not your wife. She's your Lynne."

This was meant as a funny reply but Jordan still blushed upon hearing this and sighed happily and it made my heart thump with love. That's how you know its true love. When you have been together as long as Jordan and Lynne have and you still blush or get excited at the idea of them being yours.

James stopped being cheeky back and smiled fondly at Jordan's pure smile and flopped next to him. As I hopped onto the opposite sofa to join them both, the lavender haired male copied Jordan by crossing his legs and sat the photo album on his lap. Jordan hummed quietly to himself and drummed his fingers on the back of the sofa as James turned the pages.

After my brain was filled with many memories and my heart filled up with so much love from all of the photos of those whom I loved so dearly, James came across a photo of his deceased mother in law. He gave Jordan a sad smile and he stroked the photo with his thumb as he moved the book closer to him.

Jordan looked back at him with sad yet understanding eyes before he even glanced down at the photo. I watched as his expression changed as he took in the image. For once, I was the one unable to read his expression. He stayed silent for a moment before touching between his eyes as he was pushing up invisible glasses before giving James a smile I couldn't describe.

"Oh yeah, that's her."

I didn't particularly notice the way Jordan had worded this sentence but James did. He stopped looking at Melissa's berry coloured hair to blink over at his friend, his head tilted on one side ever so slightly.

"What? What was that?"

After Jordan had another look at the photo and looked up at James with innocent and wide eyes, James moved closer to him and played with his strand. He really had picked up on something while I was oblivious. I guess I was more than a little like Ash.

"Why did you say 'that's her'? It sounds as if you've seen her before."

I didn't notice that this sentence was open and could be interpreted as seeing her photo before or seeing her in person before. I remained dense as I cuddled between them.

Jordan had another few silences and I didn't pick up on this either because, well, let's face it, Jordan was often a quiet fellow. After James continued furrowing his brow curiously at him, the yellow haired male gave off a shrug and another innocent smile.

"I don't know, I guess she looks like a Melissa. And she looks like Melissa. Jazmyn too now that I think about it."

For once, James was quickly distracted by this and he gave a soft smile as he looked back down at the photo of his mother law. He just nodded his head and didn't say anything with words, his look of sadness yet pride and fondness saying it all.

Jordan mentally noted this look and smiled to himself before moving closer to look at the photo more and to be nearer to his pal.

"Your girl must miss her a lot. She looks like a strong and together person. She looks like a mother you miss out on deeply by losing them."

The lavender haired male let out a quiet sigh and nodded his head slowly, his eyes still fixed on the photo of his mother in law he was disappointed to not have a relationship with. He thought about the loss for him and of course his wife and family before thinking about what Jordan said and giving him a soft smile. Jordan listened with grateful and attentive eyes as James opened to him and welcomed him into his world.

"One of the best things Jessie ever said to me – really it was one of the best things ever - " he began, swallowing and his eyes flickering briefly to a photo of Jessie and her mother before back at Jordan, continuing. "- was only very recently. She told me that the night that we first got together she got really emotional because after we had been together and I fell asleep, she knew that she had met the man she was meant to be with and her mother didn't even know. She so badly wanted to tell her mom she had found the one but she couldn't."

Both Jordan and I sensed the emotion in James' voice and could see it for ourselves in his eyes as he continued the eye contact. The lavender orbed male stayed quiet for a few moments, just nodding his head slowly. After James gave him a shaky sigh and a brave smile, Jordan smiled back at him and squeezed his shoulder.

"That's so sincere, James. That's really nice."

James smiled all the more upon hearing this and his gentle watery eyes soon dried up as he nodded his head and patted Jordan's shoulder back. Jordan was one of the most sincere people I had ever known and he was saying that someone or something else was. That's how you knew it was real. He would know.

After a few moments of moving even closer together in brotherly way and them occasionally reaching to tickle my cheeks in between turning the pages, the boys reached a sweet photo of Jazmyn and Katie together. I could see they were both thinking the same thing by looking in their eyes but it was Jordan to address this with words.

"Wow. If you look at that photo quickly or just squint, it looks like it could be Jessie's mom and Lynne together or something. Their younger selves of course. The family resemblance is real."

James nodded and smiled upon hearing this, totally understanding his good friend's words as he studied the photo himself. He stopped smiling and once again let out a melancholy sigh. I loved that when those two hung out. They could play, they could get deep, they could open up and they could share laughter. It didn't matter what happened. They accepted one and other and always had a great time together. They really were each other's true brothers.

"I wish that could happen - could you imagine that?" James stopped looking at the photo and gave Jordan a wistful but contented smile. "I mean Melissa is watching over Jessie and Lynne watches over me so imagine the serenity. Ultimate guardian angel presence."

I watched as I thought Jordan would have agreed with James and joined in with another comment but he didn't. He stayed silent. He ran a hand through his hair before shuffling slightly. Eventually he squinted over at James and tilted his head curiously.

"You really think Lynne is your guardian angel, huh?"

The lavender haired male blinked and tilted his own head back as he wasn't sure what Jordan was getting at. He ran his hand back to play with the back of his hair as he shrugged and explained himself.

"Well I certainly always got that feeling. She's helped me so much and continued to help me so much. She bought back qualities in me that I lost over the years and her presence and love has only made me into a better husband, father and friend. You name it, she's helped me with. Isn't that pretty guardian angel like?"

Jordan couldn't help but nod and smile at this as he ran another hand through his hair. He sighed fondly before speaking.

"It seems that you think Lynne is your guardian angel and you're happy with that. If you've chosen her as that then that's what she is. Nobody can take that away from you."

This was a very sweet answer and normally James would be over the moon at this but he knew his friend very well. He knew his friend was hiding something from him.

James thought over his words for a minute before asking casually but it was obvious as soon as he said it, he had hit the nail on the head.

"Are you saying that I have another guardian angel that I haven't chosen and I don't know about but they watch over me anyway? A far away one?"

He asked this semi jokingly but when Jordan went quiet and scratched the back of his head, James' eyes went rather wide. The lavender haired male nudged him with deep curiosity and moved even closer to him, his brow furrowed with desperation to know this new information.

"Tell me." Was all he said as he continued looking at him with the same wide and slightly shaking orbs.

Jordan groaned to himself and tried not to look at him but this was his true brother and he couldn't hide anything from him. Especially when it was going to turn his world upside down and potentially give him a whole new perspective.

He tried to put it off for a while, playing with a thread on his sock with one hand as he itched the back of his head with another. James rolled his eyes fondly before breathing out, getting filled with even more desperate intrigue as each moment passed and each secretive action Jordan did.

"I'm not sure I'm allowed to tell you. I don't want to get in trouble with the big man upstairs and have him take me back abruptly and stop these frequent visits."

James' shoulders slumped just a fraction upon hearing this but he nodded and breathed out understandingly, pushing his hair from his forehead with his fingers. His understanding and gentle disposition and actions made Jordan want to tell him even more. He hadn't been bratty or whiny or begged him too much to tell him. He liked James' demeanour, even though it reminded him of himself. He couldn't help but cave more as each second passed.

He let out a quiet breath of air and re-crossed his legs underneath his body, playing with his curtain like bangs as he looked at James, smiling slightly as he knew he had information he would be touched by.

"I guess it won't do any harm if I describe them to you. If it's meant to be and if you're meant to know, I guess that you'll guess it."

Both James and I looked at Jordan with the same curious look. At this point we were both pretty keen on knowing and we also weren't sure if Jordan was a great believer in everything happens for a reason or not. Either way, he was getting ready to tell us. We watched as Jordan shut his eyes and thought to himself.

"Alright, it's a guy. He's pretty tall and muscly-"

James was about to open his mouth and ask if Jordan was going to reveal to him that his guardian angel was actually himself but Jordan stopped him, giving him a slight smirk.

"It isn't me. I wish. Unless you choose me for it then I guess I'm all yours as well."

James smirked back and whacked his arm playfully, despite the situation. After that, he went quiet again as; once again, Jordan's eyes closed and his brain transported him to think of James' angel. Or it was just easier keeping his eyes shut in the hope he wouldn't get punished for revealing secrets to his best pal.

"Okay so he's a guy and he's pretty tall and muscly." Jordan continued and James let out a mildly impatient sigh for once but didn't hurry him up. If he was meant to know, he would know eventually. "You could say he's pretty handsome and he changes his hair up a lot like you. His eyes are blue. And his hair is pink. And his name is-"

"Isaac." James suddenly interrupted, causing Jordan to open his eyes before the lavender haired male looked back at him with eyes filled with emotion. "His name is Isaac, isn't it?"

Jordan's mouth fell open for quite some time and it was his turn to be oblivious as he looked back at James with wide, green orbs. He ran a shaky hand through his hair and looked at him, stunned that it was seemingly his friend with the special powers for once.

"James… How on earth would you know that? How do you know that's his name?"

The lavender haired male breathed out shakily and shook his head in stunned shock but also happy emotion as he quickly turned the pages of the family photo album with trembling fingers. Jordan blinked innocently as James did this but he didn't interrupt him.

With shaking hands, James picked out a photo and slid it out of the page. His eyes filled with even more emotion as he saw the face on the page before he handed it to his best friend. He let out a sniff and swallowed the lump in his throat as Jordan took the photo in his own fingers.

James nodded his head, realising for himself and not needing a yes or no answer from Jordan as he had already worked out the truth himself. It didn't matter to him if he was correct or not but as it turns out, he was. He felt the truth inside him and that was all the matters. He ran another shaky hand through his hair before leaning back on the sofa in emotional disbelief.

"It's Jessie's dad."

The End.

There you go! Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed :3 I don't know why but I sort of liked the idea that a person has two guardian angels. One you have no control over and one if you're lucky to meet, you kind of pick yourself. And also I liked the idea of Jessie's dad watching over James and making sure he was a good man :P I think this is also a little introduction into James and Jordan's little dress up game called 'Sailor - Pirate'. The chapter I wrote most recently really shows what kind of thing that game leads to :P Thanks again for reading and I will be back on the 28th with Dear Darlings so see you then!
