The Rite of Spring

Chapter 2:

Lilia couldn't wipe the smile off his face as he escorted the freshman back to the dorm.

"What was that human thinking?" A freshman whispered.

"Who knows? This is an esteemed school, for every student there are half a dozen people who didn't get in. Maybe they just couldn't take no for an answer." Sebek answered for once keeping his voice at a normal level.

"Well that was exciting." Silver yawned beside him.

'All the excitement even kept Silver up.' Lilia thought as he gave his son a quick side eye. "Everyone will be gossiping about this until the next big event." Lilia added. 'Well she has made an impression, nothing can top this opening ceremony.' Lilia thought.

"Maybe they wanted to get a glimpse at Lord Malleus." Another student remarked.

"Why wouldn't they want a glimpse at our great Lord?!" Sebek snapped back.

"These things do happen. They hear all these things about the heir to the Thorn Fairy and curiosity gets the best of them. I don't believe this is one of those situations." Lilia shrugged.

Once back at the dorm the freshman were assigned their rooms and roommates. "Looks like you have a roommate this year, Silver." Lilia teased him.

"I figured my luck would run out this year. It was nice to have a quiet room last year but having Sebek as my room mate is nothing new." Silver sighed. "Are you alright you seem a bit distracted."

"My mind is also on tonight's event, I can't shake the feeling that this is the catalyst of something." Lilia confessed looking out the window.

"Fa-Lilia have you been reading those trashy romance novels again?" Silver asked giving him a concerning look.

"Not recently." Lilia chuckled. "Good night Silver." He said floating a bit and patting the top of Silver's head and heading to his room. 'Odette Thropp, sounds like a name from a story book. Did her parents name her after the swan hoping she would be beautiful? Did they hope she would have wealth? Or did she shock them with her white hair at her birth?' Lilia wondered as he shut himself away for the night.

Silver wandered back to his room trying to stifle the yawn that escaped from him. 'All this excitement has made me sleepy.' He thought as he entered his room. His half the room, the half closest to the door was just as he left it, fairly neat but no the other side was currently chaos.

Sebek was still in his robes as he unpacked his suit case. "I'm so glad our room is so close to our Lord's and Master Lilia's rooms." Sebek called out from the closet.

"Yeah, it's nice." Silver replied as he began to get out of his robes.

"Nice! You mean brilliant. Now his knights can easily be at his beck and call if need be." Sebek snapped coming out of the closet to stare at Silver's back.

"You know father doesn't want us to do that here, he wants Lord Malleus to be treated like a regular student." Silver reminded him for the hundredth time.

"A knight should always be ready fro their Lord's order." Was all Sebek snapped back prompting a sigh from Silver.

Once Silver was in his pajamas and he had finished his nightly routine of showering and brushing his teeth he sat on his bed to see Sebek had finally finished unpacking. "What do you think of the unexpected guests tonight?" Silver asked as he sat on his bed.

"What does it matter? I doubt we'll ever see them again." Sebek shrugged. "Headmaster Crowley has probably already escorted them off the campus."

"I guess it doesn't than." Silver yawned then laid down. 'Who will be right? Father or Sebek?' Silver wondered as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Sorry it's so short. I thought it would be interesting to give other POV's for this fanfic. I plan to try and keep doing this and I hope the next other POV will be longer. Thanks for reading. I hope you stick around for when it gets good.
