Chapter 30

Unfortunately for Odette she had one her dreams. She dreamed of the great sorcerer of the sands Jafar again. He had an evil genie with him who was moving building by Jafar's commands. Jafar had people bowing to him by magical force. His magic even undid the magical transformation of the prince. He threw him into a tower and send it shooting into the sky like a firework. The prince ended up in a cold dark place.

Odette woke up with a gasp. 'These an insane amount of magic.' She thought as she tried to calm her breathing. She looked around and saw Grim was cuddled into her chest with Azul across from her, and a tweel on each side of them. Jade's and Floyd's legs wrapped around each other. 'What are we a bunch of meerkats?' She thought as Azul and Jade began to stir so she laid back down trying not to disturb them farther.

"Another dream?" Grim muttered.

"More of a nightmare, but yeah." Odette yawned covering her mouth with her hand.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He whispered.

"There was a giant genie and power crazy sorcerer. It was kinda scary. The dream ended cold and dark." She whispered.

"Don't most dreams end in the dark?" He muttered.

"Not like this it didn't fade out it was abrupt darkness like being dropped into a hole and the coldness felt so real like I was in ice." She muttered as she began to fall asleep again as she felt warm and gently squeezing all over.

The next morning Odette and Grim were woke up early by the trio. "It's time to put our plan into action." Azul whispered as he gently shook them awake.

"This early?" Grim grumbled as she buried her face into her pillow.

"Yes, this early." Odette chuckled as she began to pull Grim out of the bed.

Azul, Jade and Odette went to Kalim's room while Floyd and Grim went to the kitchen.

"It's time to get up." Jade said as he gently shook Kalim.

"Jamil?" Kalim muttered as he sat up.

"No, I'm Jade but our names do sound similar." Jade chuckled. "It's morning so it's time to get up." Jade informed him.

"Normal Jamil wakes me up but okay." Kalim said getting out of bed.

"First you need to get dressed, then brush your teeth and hair." Odette said as he handed Kalim a set of folded clothes.

"After that we will discuss today's agenda." Azul smiled as he looked over a clipboard.

"Kalim,...what is going on here? What all are you doing here?" Jamil asked as he entered the room. He looked very upset.

"We're here to help Kalim." Odette volunteered.

"Yes, you work so hard Jamil we thought we would help you by giving you the day off as a thank you for letting us stay here." Azul explained his smile still in place.

"You don't need to do this." Jamil said crossing his arms over his chest.

"That's a great idea! Jamil you deserve a day off. You do so much." Kalim smiled.

"How you feel for Jamil really is beautiful Kalim. Azul could learn a thing or two from you." Jade said faking a sniffle.

"Shut up Jade." Azul growled quietly so only Jade and Odette heard him making Odette cover her mouth quickly as a chuckle escaped her lips.

"Please no need to worry anymore. Enjoy your day off. "Jade said escorting Jamil out of the room.

"I can't take the day off." Jamil muttered as he headed towards the dorm's kitchen.

Jamil found the kitchen in full swing and Floyd at the helm with the help of Grim.

"Ah sea snake no need to help us in here. We have enough hands. Go relax." Floyd said as he saw Jamil walk in.

"Really?" Jamil asked raising an eyebrow crossing his arms again.

"Yup, we're all good here. You do too much. Go relax." Grim said as she stirred the oatmeal.

"Kalim will only eat what I cook. Grim, I've explained this to you just days ago. He worries about being poisoned." Jamil said.

"Are you saying I would poison his food?" Floyd asked as he stopped chopping the veggies he had been chopping to put into the eggs.

"Of course not." Grim said stopping and waving his hands in front of him. "If you're worried about it why not just taste it before we serve it to him?"

"Fine." Jamil snapped then left the kitchen.

'Jeez, he's probably more of a handful then the other two combined. Why did I let Odette talk me into take cooking duty?' He thought releasing a deep breath.

As the group ate breakfast Azul went over the changes he had made to the schedule. "I think these changes will improve your training camp by 15%." Azul explained. "After breakfast I think memorization training will be a good start."

The atmosphere in the room seemed to lighten greatly. "No more marching!" A student happily whispered to another.

"Oh that all makes sense. Let's do it. Floyd this food tastes great." Kalim said looking up from Azul's chart to Floyd.

"I agree." Odette said.

"Mh hm!" Grim added nodding.

"It's because he was in such a good mood this morning. His food always reflects his mood. If he had been in a bad mood it would have tasted terrible." Jade explained.

"That makes sense but you're so moody it must be like rolling the dice when you cook." Odette chuckled as Grim nodded in agreement.

"So what if I'm moody?" Floyd grumbled.

"It's not a bad thing it just part of who you are." Odette said with a shrug.

"Don't let her fool you she can be moody too." Grim said poking her arm.

"So? You're the one who's fickle as a cat." She retorted.

"Meow!" Grim said making the lucky cat arm gesture making several students laugh at her antics. "Don't call me a call me cat." Grim whispered.

After the breakfast dishes were done the dorm did the memorization training that Azul had provided. "Great spells start with great word selection." He explained.

"Ah man I'm getting sleepy." Kalim said shaking his head.

"Then try walking around. The blood flow and movement will keep you up." Jade said.

Kalim got up and began to walk around the room with his book in head. He was followed by some of the students including Floyd and Grim.

"Hey, it works I'm not sleepy around neither." Grim cheered.

After a few hours of studying the dorm went out to train which today was playing a game of spell drive. "The game is very physical active and you'll do just as much as your marching and not even realize it." Azul explained.

"I'm just glad for the break." Grim said as he and Odette watched from the sidelines.

After the games it was lunch time. Azul explained how to make a balance meal.

"Wow there's a lot that needs to go into meal prep. I want to help." Kalim said.

"You can help us stir the soup sea otter." Floyd said stepping aside to let him help.

They all ate happily. "I'm glad I got to help." Kalim smiled.

"All you did was stir soup." Jamil sighed.

"He has to start somewhere it's never to late to late new things." Jade said smiling back at Kalim.

"There's a lot I need to learn." Kalim sighed.

"That's fine. You know you need to and that's step one, as long as you learn from your past mistakes and try your best from here on out." Azul said.

After lunch they studied again, this time the subject was history. "That's who was in my dream last night." Odette whispered to Grim pointing to a picture of Jafar in the textbook.

"Him? That's probably not good." Grim whispered back.

"Yeah any dream with him is probably a nightmare. "Floyd whispered as he rested his chin on top of Odette's head.

"Floyd that kinda hurts." Odette sighed.

"You shouldn't be eavesdropping." Grim whispered to him.

"You three should be studying." Jade said pulling his twin away from Odette.

"You're distracting the others." Azul said glaring at them as he looked up from his book.

"Sorry." They all whispered going back to their books.

"It's nearly three I think it's time for a tea break." Azul sighed.

"I'll get it." Jade said as he started to get up.

"No I'll do it today." Azul said fully getting up.

"Let me help you." Jamil said getting up from the table as well.

"I'm starting to get a bad feeling." Odette whispered to Grim as she watched Azul and Jamil leave the room.

"Why are you doing this?" Jamil asked as he stopped in the hallway half towards the kitchen.

"Odette mentioned Kalim being emotionally unstable. She seemed so worried about him but he has seemed to even out since we got here. Which is good, I'm glad to see the students are supporting him again." Azul explained turning to face Jamil.

"That's the problem!" Jamil snapped.

"Excuse me?" Azul asked raising an eyebrow.

"You can't stay here any longer, go back to the bottom of the sea." Jamil growled stepping close to Azul.

"You're upset? What have we done to upset you?" Azul asked as Jamil put his hands on Azul's shoulders.

"Yes, I'm upset." Jamil hissed. "Look into my eye, you idiot. Snake Whisper."

"W-what are you doing?" Azul gasped out.

"Obey me Azul, you will listen to me, obey me." Jamil whispered. Azul struggled against Jamil's hold for a few minutes but eventually calmed down. "Tell me who's your master." He demanded quietly.

"You are Jamil." Azul whispered as his eyes went blank.

Jamil began to chuckle to himself as he removed his hands from Azul. "To think the high and mighty Azul, dorm leader of Octavinelle was subdued so easily just because he let his guard down around an 'average sorcerer'. How pathetic."

Jamil quickly recovered himself. "I thought I was nearly undone there. I've put a lot of work into this plan. I can easily undo today and have Kalim on his way to being kicked out and those Ramshackle dorm idiots have no clue how they're playing right into my hand." Jamil said. "Now what to do with you, my genie in the lamp. Did you return everyone's magic the other day?" He asked.

"Yes." Azul answered flatly.

"Damn that would have been useful." Jamil muttered.

"But I do remember all the details. All the fears, weakness, strengths and hopes of all the deals." Azul continued.

"Oh that is useful. It seems my plan to becoming the dorm leader are still well on their way." Jamil grinned evilly.

"I think I've heard enough." Jade said walking up to them.
