Chapter 33
The next morning once everyone returned they checked on Jamil and the Scarabia dorm.
Jamil seemed to be back to normal so Kalim declared that vacation was back on and the entire dorm marched out to an actually oasis.
"It's so pretty." Odette as they arrived.
"Yeah it is." Grim agreed.
They sat up a feast, some of the students even brought instruments and started to play. "Come dance with me Jamil, you're so good at it." Kalim said pulling Jamil away from their table out to an area designated as the dance area.
"They're very light on their feet." Odette grinned watching them.
"Yes, they are. Maybe you should ask them to teach you Azul." Jade teased.
"You don't dance Azul? You look like you would be a good dancer." Odette commented.
"It looks like so much fun I want to do this dance. Come on let's go try it." Floyd said dragging Odette with him so Kalim and Jamil could show them the moves.
"She says the strangest things." Azul muttered as he blushed.
Jade just grinned beside him enjoying the entertainment beside him and in front of him. Floyd and Odette had quickly picked up on Jamil's and Kalim's moves. They were soon all dancing in sync until Floyd decided to start spinning Odette around and around.
The party was in full swing for awhile when shouts could be heard coming from the desert and coming closer
"Oi! Odette! Grim!" the voice called out.
"Is that Ace?" Odette asked as she got up from the table. She had taken a break from dancing.
"Are you two okay?" Deuce asked as they appeared at the edge of the oasis.
"What is going on here? Why are the Octa-Trio here?" Ace asked. "Your message was so cryptic then you never answered me back."
"Octa-Trio?" Azul asked raising an eyebrow.
"We were worried so we came all the way back here. We had to take public transportation to get here since we can't use magic outside of school." Deuce explained.
"You can't use magic outside of school? I think that ship sailed. My phone died and I didn't have the charger with me." Odette explained sheepishly. "Everything is fine now. Sorry to make you worry."
"Come sit here and I'll explain everything to you." Grim said patting the cushion beside him.
"Do you want to explain the Octa-Trio remark?" Floyd asked.
"Have you never really heard that before? I think everyone calls you that. I guess just not to your face. I think it's a cute nick name." Odette explained.
"So Odette do you hug everyone or only special people?" Jade whispered as they dance later that evening.
"I hug whoever I want, it's not a big deal. Why do you want a hug too?" Odette teased. She seemed to have caught him guard for a second making her chuckle. "All you have to do is ask."
"Good to know." Jade chuckled.
She just grinned back to him.
Everyone had fun at the party and once it was over Odette and Grim went back to the Ramshackle dorm. "I'm just as happy to be back as yesterday." Grim exclaimed as he made his way up the walkway.
"Happy Holidays." Lilia cheered appearing in the air.
"Oh Lilia!" Odette gasped taking a step back.
"I'm here to delivery a letter from a certain someone." Lilia said with a wink as he pulled out an envelope and handed it to her. "He is upset no one invited him to any parties again this year. So if you're going to have a party could you consider inviting him." Lilia explained.
"Well the party we just left wasn't really a party until the end and it was kinda last minute." Odette explained rubbing the back of her neck in embarrassment.
"I did have plans but the whole Scarabia thing threw a wrench into it. But maybe I could do a New Year's party. That'll probably be more fun." She quickly rambled.
"Thank you." Lilia smiled. "I do believe we already have plans at the dorm."
"Oh, okay." Odette sighed looking a bit disappointed as looked down at the card. 'M.D.? Is Waka-sama's initials M D?' She thought.
"There's a birthday party on January 1st. My birthday." Lilia explained with smile getting bigger. "Would you like to attend?"
"Of course! Please!" Odette exclaimed surprising both of them.
"Wonderful. I'll inform the others. But please keep what I said in mind about my dorm leader." Lilia said taking her gloved her hands in his.
"Of course. Any party I have you guys will be the first invite." Odette grinned.
"Wonderful." Lilia repeated his ran his thumbs over her hands before bringing them to his lips. "Good night Odette." He released her hands.
"Good night Lilia." She parroted back giving him a small smile and bow and he then disappeared from in front of her making her gasp.
As Odette was getting ready for bed that night when the mirror began to glow. " Is this really happening again?" She whispered as she took a step towards the mirror stepping on Grim's tail. He grumbled in his sleep but didn't wake.
It was the creature with the big round ears again. "Who are you?" It asked.
"I'm Odette Thropp." She answered. "Who are you?
"What strange names but they sound nice. I'm Mickey Mouse. Are you a dream? I keep having this dream, this is the third time but I kept hearing our voices. Where are you?" He asked.
"I thought you were a dream. We're in Twisted Wonderland." She answered.
Then the mirror went dark.
"What was that?" She muttered as she touched the mirror. 'This isn't the first time I've seen him at least I know his name now. She thought with a sigh as she turned and headed towards her bed.
