Severed Hand Alley •

If you visit Shells Town, a town located in the Yotsuba Island Region of East Blue, people will say that there once exists a haunted alley called Severed Hand Alley.

The reason why it was haunted is because long time ago there was a man named Bartholomew Kuma, who came to Shells Town and set up a food stand in which he sell honey and other honey based foods. He hired two boys named Shachi and Penguin to help him out with his stand. From the citizens of Shells Town perspective Kuma and the two boys got along really well.

Then one day Shachi and Penguin went over to Kuma's house when he hasn't shown up at his food stand. When they got there, they went inside and were horrified to find out that Kuma had been murdered, his corpse is lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Shachi and Penguin ran outside of Kuma's house towards the streets shouting for help. At first the people of Shells Town thought that Shachi and Penguin were pulling a prank, but when they gather at Kuma's house and found his corpse, it turns out what Shachi and Penguin were saying is true, and alert the Marines.

The Marines immediately investigated on who murdered Kuma. They search all over town for the murderer. They arrested a few suspicious individuals, but since there were no evidences against them they were released. But a Marine named Morgan became suspicious of Shachi and Penguin and had the two arrested. He placed them at two separate rooms at Navy HQ. At first he question the two if they had murder Kuma to which both Shachi and Penguin denied. Eventually Morgan began an intense interrogation on the two. Under harsh pressure Shachi and Penguin began blaming each other for Kuma's murder.

Shachi and Penguin were later put on trial and plead guilty. The judge sentence them to be executed by hanging them at the gallows. Shachi and Penguin were hung by the neck, after their execution the Marines cut off their hands. The Marines hung the hands on the wall of the alley outside Kuma's house as a warning to any criminals.

Since then, people of Shells Town have been afraid to walk through that alley. Whenever they do, they say a prayer and they keep on praying until they finally come out on the other side of the alley.

After a few days later the Marines took down the severed hands and buried them, then the next day the hands were back on the walls. Whenever the Marines or anyone in Shells Town remove the hands they always keep reappearing on the walls. Terrified of this scary phenomenon, the town demolish the alley and turn it into a wide street.

Ever since the Town demolish the alley the hands stop appearing, but however according to the people of Shells Town, in every dark night in April if you go and stand where the alley once stood, you will see skeleton hands floating above you, and you might also catch a glimpse of the ghost of Bartholomew Kuma walking down the street and disappearing into an alley.
