[Mesagoza - Paldea Region]
After what felt like forever, Jaune and Nemona finally made it to Mesagoza so that Jaune could begin his first day of school. To say he was nervous it would be an understatement of the century. Jaune knew that this was his second chance to make a good first impression.
While at Beacon he didn't make a good first impression as everyone thought of him as the weakest student in the whole school. But now, as a Pokemon trainer in search of Mew, Jaune had a chance to begin again, and he was not going to waste this opportunity.
"So Jaune, we still have a bit of time before class starts. What do you want to do first?"questions Nemona."You could go get a haircut or something. Or maybe you can get something to eat."
"Hmm..."said Jaune."I think I'll go get a bite to eat. I had breakfast but all of that exercise really drained all the calories out of my body."
"Huh, I never pegged you for a big eater."said Nemona."But that's a good mindset, since you can't battle properly on a empty stomach."
'That and the fact that I gave my lunch to Koraidon...' thought Jaune, who gave Mrs Lopez' delicious sandwich to the Pokemon that was currently in his possession.
He still had a lot of questions for that Arven guy. Like why he had Koraidon's pokeball in the first place. Jaune wanted to know why a pokémon who was not registered in the Pokedex had a pokeball already? Arven clearly wasn't his trainer as he wasn't close to the Pokemon in question at all...in fact, he seemed to resent it for some reason?
"Jaune, are you there?"questions Nemona, getting the attention of a young man as she was too close.
"Ahhh! Yes! I'm here."said Jaune, backing away as he was not used to girls being so close to him despite having grown up with seven sisters.
"Well get your mind in the game! Oh, speaking of that. I'm going to go get something for you that I think you're really going to like."said Nemona, before she ran off before her new friend could ask any more questions.
"Man, she's almost as fast as Ruby when she's on cookies."said Jaune, remembering his first friend at Beacon who had a love for chocolate chip cookies... before they made her go on a sugar rush.
"Okay, time to make a good first impression at school!"said Jaune, who figured he could eat later as he wanted to get to know his new stomping grounds for a bit, as they were going to be his new living quarters for the next several weeks or several months in his search for Mew.
So Jaune quickly made his way to the center of Mesagoza, where Naranja Academy was located. He considered himself lucky that the school was literally at the center of the city, that way he didn't have to struggle to find his way there. As Jaune was making his way through Mesagoza, he noticed a lot of things about the city, like how it was centered around Pokemon battles!
Everywhere he looked, he saw avengers advertising their products on how they could help people in their future Pokemon battles. Like sandwiches that would improve your Pokemon's health, an item that will help your Pokemon evolve, ect.
Jaune could almost chuckle as people were obsessed with Pokemon here in the Pokemon world, which made sense since they literally called it the Pokemon world...
The young arc knew that he had to travel around with Pokemon while in the Pokemon world, as although they're not as vicious as Grimm, wild pokémon dude tend to attack people with the intention to see if there were via being their Pokemon trainer.
It made no sense to him, but this was not his world so he did not understand the logic of it, nor did he need to understand the logic.
All he needed to do was find Mew, and get that mischievous Pokemon to send him back to Remnant, more specifically Beacon Academy!
He was sure that all of his friends were worried by now, after all who wouldn't be worried when their friend suddenly disappears on them without so much as saying a goodbye?!
Before Jaune could think on this more, he heard a commotion near the school gate. His instincts immediately told him to go and see what was wrong as he quickly ran towards the stairway next to the school.
There he saw a girl wearing an Eevee backpacking harassed by two students wearing Naranja Academy student uniforms. The only difference was that they were helmets on their heads, white gloves on there hands, and their shirts were untucked.
'I'm guessing these are the delinquents of the school.' thought Jaune, who knew that no matter the school, there would always be delinquents.
"Come on, don't you want to shine brightly with us?"said the male student to the female student wearing the
Eevee backpack.
"...Not really..."said the girl, as Jaune got a better look at her.
He was about as tall as Ruby, and had a similar haircut. The only difference was that her hair was red to blue, she wore thick glasses, head on a oversized dark hoodie, with matching skirt and leggings. She appear to have been minding her own business before these two delinquents started harassing her...and Jaune could feel a Cardin vibe from those two delinquents in question.
"Ah, just join us already! We have a quota to fill, and we can't go back empty-handed! So just join Team Star already!"said the female delinquent.
Jaune had all but had enough at this point and stepped in, surprising the girl with glasses as she did not expect someone to get in between her and the delinquents.
"Hey, that's enough!"said Jaune, has he had enough of these two picking on someone who reminded him a lot of his friend Ruby.
Even if she didn't look like Ruby, he wouldn't stand by her getting bullied to join something she clearly did not want to join.
"Hey, don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong!"said the male delinquent.
"Yeah, don't you know who we are."said the female delinquent.
"We're Team Star, and you're going to burn if you mess with us m"said the male delinquent as he and the female tried to look intimidating.
"I have literally never heard of you guys before."said Jaune, as this is the first time he has heard of Team Star.
"Ah, another ignorant nobody! Just when I finally became a member of Team Star! I really need to move up the ranks if I want to be feared!"said the female delinquent while stomping on the ground, clearly frustrated as this nobody has never heard of Team Star.
"Let's teach him a lesson."said the male delinquent, causing the female to smack as she pulled out a pokeball.
"Good idea! Let's crush him in front of the school that way there's nobody never forgets what Team Star is!"said the female delinquent in agreement.
"Shroodle, come on out!"said the female delinquent, who quickly moved her hands in a star shape before she threw the pokeball and question.
'Why did she do that?' thought Jaune, before he focused on the Pokemon that had been called out.
Jaune quickly pulled out his rotom phone and activated the Pokedex app to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
Pokedex: Shroddle, the toxic mouse Pokemon. Though usually a mellow Pokémon, it will sink its sharp, poison-soaked front teeth into any that anger it, causing paralysis in the object of its ire.
"So it's a poison in normal type."said Jaune, while putting his pokedex app away.
"That's right! Now let's see what a loser like you calls out!"said the female delinquent with confidence.
"Fuecoco, I choose you!"said Jaune, before he called out the fire croc Pokemon for battle by tossing the pokeball in question.
"Fue!"said the fire croc Pokemon, as he was ready for battle.
"Shroodle, use tackle!"ordered the team star grunt, causing the toxic mouse pokémon to begin running towards Fuecoco with the intention of tackling it.
"Dodge and use ember!"ordered Jaune.
This caused the fire croc pokémon did quickly move out of the way to avoid getting hit with tackle. He then proceeded to take in a deep breath before he unleashed a small blast of flame towards Shroodle, striking the toxic mouse pokémon from behind.
"Now use tackle!"ordered Jaune, causing the fire croc Pokemon to quickly run towards the toxic mouse while it was distracted, and tackled it, causing damage!
Shroodle was quickly knocked to its trainers side of the field, where was revealed to have been knocked out!
"Eeehhhhh!"said the female delinquent with shock, as she couldn't believe her pokémon was defeated with two hits.
"What?! He defeated your Shroodle?! Does that mean I have to take him on, since I'm higher up in the ranks of Team Star?!"said the male delinquent, who was having second thoughts about taking on this nobody.
"Oyee! What the heck is going on here!"said someone coming down the stairs, causing everyone to turn to see it was none other than the student council president, Nemona!
"Nemona, listen to this."said Jaune, glad to see his new friend as he figured she could deal with these delinquents.
"Jaune, if you wanted someone to battle then you could have just asked me."said Nemona, completely misunderstanding the situation.
"...No, I didn't start this battle. It was those guys over there."said Jaune, pointing over to the members of Team Star.
"Oh, sorry about that! I thought you had been the one who caused this."said Nemona, before she turned her attention to the two delinquents.
"You two are clearly members of Team Star! Don't tell me you're trying to force kids to join up again?"inquire the student council president.
"No... we weren't doing that..."said the male delinquent, who clearly was not a good liar.
"Jaune, since I was going to give you something why don't you use it here and now."said Nemona, before she handed Jaune what look like a black pokeball with what appeared to be a glowing crystal inside.
"What's this?"questions Jaune, wondering what his new friend just gave him.
"That is a Terra orb. Here in Paldea, Pokemon have the unique ability to crystallize thanks to Terra orbs! They basically give your Pokemon a power boost, but that depends on its terra type. For example, your Fuecoco's Terra type is most likely fire, meaning once he Terrastalizes, his fire type moves will become even more powerful. Some Pokemon even changed type when they to terrastalize, meaning it can come real handy in battle."said Nemona, giving her new friend an explanation on how the Terra orb works.
"Wow!"said Jaune, realizing that he had now a secret weapon for his Pokemon battles up his sleeve.
"Hey you!"said Nemona, pointing over to the male delinquent."You and him will have a Pokemon battle here and now! Otherwise you will have to battle me!"
The male delinquent look scared as he looked at Nemona, before he turned to Jaune.
"I'll do it! I'd rather take my chances with him then with you!"said the male delinquent, who knew he couldn't take on the student council president when she was serious.
"I like this referee so you two get ready for battle!"said Nemona, causing Jaune and Fuecoco to get ready as it was now time for round two against Team Star!
"Yungoos, come on out!"said the male Team Star member, before he called out a Pokemon that looked a lot like a mongoose.
Jaune pulled out his pokedex app to identify the Pokemon in front of him.
Pokedex: Yungoos, the loitering Pokemon. Its stomach fills most of its torso. It wanders the same path every day, searching for fresh food.
"Fuecoco, get ready for round two!"said Jaune, looking at the Terra orb, wondering if you could Master it so that his Pokemon would have a greater chance of victory!
"Yungoos, use scratch!"ordered the male delinquent, causing the loitering Pokemon to run towards the fire croc Pokemon with the intention of scratching him!
"Alright, here goes nothing!"said Jaune, before he held the Terra orb pie up in the air, and suddenly energy started to fill it before he threw it at Fuecoco!
The Terra orb landed near the fire croc Pokemon. Nothing happened for a few seconds before out of nowhere a large Crystal popped out of the Terra orb, surrounding Fuecoco as the orb in question return to Jaune's hand. A few seconds later the crystal dissipated and Fuecoco stood in a shiny new form!
His entire body was now surrounded by Crystal, with what appeared to be a decorative fire theme chandelier on top of his head!
"Cool!"said Jaune, realizing that it worked, and now Fuecoco's fire type moves have gone up in power!
"Fuecoco, ember!"shouted Jaune, causing the fire croc Pokemon's chandelier to glow up with flaming energy before he took in a deep breath, and shoot out a blast of flame at the loitering Pokemon.
Yungoos try to avoid the attack, but it was too late, as he had been struck and knocked to his trainer's side of the courtyard, where it was revealed it had been knocked out with one hit!
"Nooo! One hit!"said the male delinquent, while Fuecoco return back to his original form.
"Terrastalization only lasts during the battle. After the battle is finished, your Pokemon will return to normal."said Nemona, explaining what was going on as Jaune and Fuecoco took in a deep breath.
"I can't believe that worked."said Jaune, as he was not sure how he did that.
It was like second nature to him, but he didn't understand why?
"Well then, hasta la vistarrr!"said both delinquents at the same time, before they ran off as fast as their legs could take them.
"Hey, get back here!"said Nemona, who ran after them.
But by the time she got where they were, they were long gone as only a silhouette of their untucked shirts could be seen from a distance.
"Who were they?"asked Jaune as he approached Nemona.
"Team Star... they are basically a bunch of delinquents who skip class and do whatever they want. The leaders of the team haven't been to a single class in over a year and a half... even the teachers are not sure what to do with them. Ha... I was hoping you wouldn't get caught up with them but I guess Arceus has other plans."said Nemona, looking like she was about to develop a headache.
"Oh well. Jaune, now that you have a Terra orb, we'll have even more interesting Pokemon battles from here on out. For now though, let's climb the world's largest staircase and head to class!"said Nemona, quickly getting over the fact that Team Star got away, as she figured she can deal with them later.
"Now that you mention... that is a pretty big staircase."said Jaune, looking over at the staircase in question.
"Don't worry, I'm sure you got this!"said Nemona, confident that her new friend had this before she ran up the stairs in question.
"Well, I better not be late for my first day of school!"said Jaune, who quickly followed the student council president up the stairs.
Unknown to Jaue though, two sets of eyes were watching him from a distance.
'He could be just what we need to go ahead with my plan.' thought both individuals.
With one being revealed to be Arven.
While the other's face was covered by a hoodie.
Who was this mysterious and what did they have planned for Jaune?
Only time will tell...
