• Whole Cake Island's Weeping Woman •
Pedro of the Treetops is a jaguar mink and the captain of the Nox Expedition who is sailing in search of a Poneglyph, and he made his journey to Whole Cake Island after hearing word that there is a Poneglyph in the Seducing Woods, which is located in Whole Cake Island's southwestern coast from the outskirts of Sweet City.
Pedro and his team spend all day finding the Poneglyph in the Seducing Woods. When it became nighttime, Pedro decides to have a drink at a bar in Sweet City.
Apparently there's a harvest party being hosted at the bar. There was a lot of people dancing, some regular bar customers partakes in the feast while others like Pedro just sat on a table and continue drinking his drink. Eventually a man named Perospero begin to tell local ghost stories which caught Pedro's interest and begins to listen. One story that caught Pedro attention the most is The Legend Of The Weeping Woman Of Whole Cake Island.
The story goes that long ago there was a young beautiful woman who lived in Sweet City named Charlotte Linlin who married a local city man named Pound to whom she bears two children with. Then one day, Charlotte Linlin sees her husband, Pound with another woman and in a fit of blind rage, she takes their children to the Seducing Woods and throwns them in a river and ended up drowning. After realizing what she had done, Linlin immediately regret what she did. Unable to save her children and consumed by her guilt, Linlin jumped into the river to retrieve her children but ends up drowning herself as well. It is said that she is unable to enter the afterlife, and is forced to be in purgatory and roams Whole Cake Island late at night until she finds her children. They say her cries are heard when she walks around the street or near bodies of water whenever she close by, which goes "Mamamamama". She sometimes mistaken children for her own, when she realize her mistake, she takes them to the Seducing Woods and drowns them, the same goes for wandering people who bumps into her late at night.
After hearing that story Pedro believed the story to be just told to scare children of Whole Cake Island into good behavior and to stop them from playing near dangerous water.
Pedro then finishes his drink and left the bar. While headed to the hotel he and his crew are staying, it was really quiet as Pedro is the only one walking in the streets of Sweet City, as if he was walking down a ghost town. The only sounds he heard at first are the sounds of his boots stepping the solid ground one at a time. As Pedro continued walking he then hear someone right behind him whispering a soft and sadly cries that goes...
"Mamamamama".
