Many years later I write this fanfic bc of a sudden thirst for Tsurara x Rikuo
The sun was beginning its dusk and Rikuo had finished his daily contributions to society, aka the human world. upon returning home he noticed two figures neatly seated near the entrance of the mansion, as he was to approach a voice yelled out
"Do you understand at all Oikawa-San?!"
Rikuo realized to whom these pair of voice belongs to, it was his wife, much to his astonishment instead of approaching further he stood back and quickly hid himself from view, eavesdropping a conversation he shouldn't have been hearing in the first place.
"I know that you love Rikuo, but please try to avoid him he's married, we're married... your presence is such a hindrance" kana muttered in a low voice.
"Ienaga-San I understand already, you don't have to keep repeating yourself... I didn't come here to steal Rikuo-sama. I came here through the orders of the Nurarihyon" Tsurara replied in a calm timid voice.
Trying to keep her cool around the human girl was yet the hardest thing she would have to put up everyday. She never thought that this point in time will come when Kana's true personality would surface up to those she loathed most, and in this case it was Tsurara that she deeply loathed. Tsurara was a yokai she could've ended this matter for as long as she would've wanted it to, thanks to her kind heart, the young yuki-onna would swore to her being to not lay a hand on the human girl. no matter, Rikuo didn't quite caught what was being said when Kana had finally lowered her voice the only audible phrases on his part was when his wife had seemingly been trying to make the young yuki-onna understand something. something he hadn't had the idea about.
"Oikawa-" Kana started again, however Rikuo had finally appeared and halted their conversation making the two young figures turn their head to face the now looming shape in front of them.
The resemblance between his night form and his day form had become almost indistinguishable, no longer the scrawny middle schooler boy but a man, a very powerful masculine man that had aged well like fine wine, the length of his hair had grew almost as long as his yoru, his sweet brown eyes had become enigmatic befitting of his Yoru he was very alluring a curse and torment to the young snow woman.
"Oh Rikuo-sama you're finally home?" Tsurara nervously acknowledge forcing a smile on her face.
"Are the two of you having a disagreement?" Rikuo prodded least of all, disappointed.
Rikuo glanced at his wife for an answer and her expression had said what needed to be said. She looked furious her stare fixated on the young snow woman as if she were to strangle her right here and there he wondered what could've led to such frenzy, because he's always known her to be so reserved and composed. he put his hands on her shoulder and gave her a light embrace. the snow woman took notice and backed a bit seemingly hurt.
Tsurara was green-eyed with envy her years of restraint towards her feelings for the 3rd commander are surfacing up at the wrong time, trying to hide the pain that're swelling up her eyes, she chanted get a grip for waka , she must not look vulnerable especially in front of him...
finally she faced him straight, "Rikuo-sama it was a misunderstanding... Ienaga-san was just trying to lecture me that I've done my orders wrong... now if you'll excuse me" she turned walking away from the two-
"wait-" Rikuo called after her,
but the young yuki onna was long gone from his sight like the breeze of the northern wind. and so he prodded on to his wife, but Kana being the pretentious woman that she is, refused to give him any answers but instead would scoff at her husband, "Go ask Oikawa-san instead. she will tell you what it is that is causing all of our troubles" and so followed day after day Rikuo would try to bring up the subject between the two, and neither of them would answer. when Rikuo would try to turn the subject about it the two of them would be interrupting him instead. Kana's intent changed after her frenzy against the young yuki-onna, her new intent was to not let Rikuo know of the idea for as she knew when declared it might yet stir up another complication against their marriage. At least a week had passed, Tsurara was now where to be seen, at least when the young commander is on sight. she was always away either too busy or already been sleeping.
"Kana have you seen the yuki-onna lately?" Rikuo asked confused and curious.
the back of kana's shoulder flared up in a fury upon hearing the mentioning of the certain lady. she have had enough, after weeks of unsettling and tension around the Nurarihyon's house she'd finally bring the light to everything
"Why are you so curious about it Rikuo?, you don't have to see her everytime! she's a subordinate and if you ever need something you should come to me! I'am your wife" Kana howled.
Rikuo was definitely shocked, he didn't know how to reply, his wife's sudden outburst was enough to signal his brain that there is a grave hostility between the two young women
"It's wrong Rikuo, why should you consult to her when I am here, you are a married man and you do not need another woman to be close to especially not Oikawa!" She fumed, her face turning so red full of hatred, hatred for the young woman that never actively pursued for his affection.
Rikuo was taken aback, he did not know that Kana had this inner boil within her. What could have Tsurara possibly have done to make her react in such a way. He knew her even before he knew Kana. She was always a part of his family. A part of his Hyakki Yakkou, swore an oath to serve him to protect him, he never have saw her under any light other than of an Elder sister that is always protective of him and for Kana to be spouting such hatred was unbecoming and unjustified. It made him feel some sort of irk
Not wanting to engage in further complications he took a deep breath and sighed. Assuring his wife that he will fix it
"I will see to this shortly" was all he said, as he walked away from his wife and finally searching for the snow woman instead, perhaps she'd be able to explain and finally bring the conflict up to the surface.
