Smiling Mad Monk

Scratchman Apoo was at night walking in the Flower Capital after delivering a report to Lord Orochi, he was walking near a police-patrolled park quite close to the castle. It was a quiet night, and the park, as it was most nights, was completely empty.

Apoo turned down a short side-street in order to loop back to the Itachi Port when he first noticed someone. At the far end of the street, on Apoo's side, was the silhouette of a man, who seem to be dancing in an odd straight forward stride. Apoo thinks guess the man is dance-walking towards him.

Apoo assume he was probably drunk, as Apoo stepped closer to the road to give the man the majority of the sidewalk to pass him by. The closer he got, the more he realized how gracefully moving he was. He big in height and width. He seem to be smiling, because of his smile, his face resembles that of a smiling totem mask. Apart from his smile, the man had stitched-up scar falling short above his left eye. On his chin he has a prominent, jet-black, and scruffy beard. He also has black tattoos going down his shoulders that resemble fire. It appears he's dressed in robes, and wore a pair of gold earrings, black gloves and a rather large red bead necklace. Apoo assume he must be a monk, but what shock him is that the monk has a pair of large wings growing out from the middle of his back.

He danced closer and cross the street before he danced any closer. Apoo took his eyes off of the monk to cross the empty street. As Apoo reached the other side, he glanced back... and then stopped dead in his tracks. The monk had stopped dancing and was standing with one foot in the street, perfectly parallel to Apoo. He was facing Apoo but still looking skyward, and still smiling wide on his lips.

Apoo was completely and utterly unnerved by this. He started walking again, but kept his eyes on the monk. He didn't move. Once he had put about half a block between the two, he turned away from him for a moment to watch the sidewalk in front of him. The street and sidewalk ahead of Apoo were completely empty. Still unnerved, he looked back to where the monk had been standing to find him gone. For the briefest of moments Apoo felt relieved due to how the monk is making feel very scared and uncomfortable, right when he thought he's done seeing the monk he just noticed him from crossed the street, and was now slightly crouching down. Apoo couldn't tell for sure due to the distance and the shadows, but he was certain the monk was facing him. He looked away from him for no more than ten seconds, so it was clear that he had moved fast.

Apoo was so shocked that he stood there for some time, staring at the monk. And then he started moving toward Apoo again. He took giant, exaggerated tip-toed steps, as if he were sneaking up on someone. Except the monk was moving very, very quickly.

It was at this point Apoo thought about fighting back, as the smiling monk crept towards Apoo.

And then the monk stopped again, about a few feet away from Apoo. The monk still smiling his smile, still looking at the sky.

Apoo blurted out the first thing that came to his mind, "What do you want you creep?!" in an angry, commanding tone. What came out from the monk was a deep whimper: "Whaaat…?"

When Apoo heard that monk's voice, it more afraid. But the monk didn't react after that. He just stood there, smiling.

And then, after what felt like forever, the monk turned around, very slowly, and started dance-walking away. Just like that. Not wanting to turn his back on him again, Apoo just watched him go, until he was far enough away to almost be out of sight. And then he realized something. He wasn't moving away anymore, nor was he dancing. As Apoo watched in horror as the distant shape of the monk grew larger and larger. He was coming back on Apoo way. And this time the monk was running, which he looked like a bull charging at it's target.

Apoo ran too. Apoo had never exprience something so scary in his life. He on ran out of the Flower Capital. He kept running, and running, and running-- and running until he lost his direction to the Itachi Port.

Apoo looked back behind him, the monk was nowhere to be found. Apoo continued to walk back to port, he kept glancing over his shoulder, always expecting to see the monk and his stupid smile, but he was never there.

After that night, Apoo never goes out at night to deliever the Beasts Pirates reports to Lord Orochi instead he sends one of his crewmates. Ever seen that scary exprience, Apoo thinks there was something wrong about his face that always haunted him. He took a good look at him at close distant, he didn't look drunk, he didn't look he was on something. The smiling monk's face look completely and utterly insane, and it was very, very scary thing to see to Apoo.
