• The Whistling Man •

Yosaku is very intimid person who is scared all the time and is always looking around his surroundings, if he is looking out for something. This is because he encountered The Whistling Man.

It happen two years ago, Yosaku was a bounty hunter and a swordsman like his partner and childhood friend Johnny. They came to Shishano Kingdom to hunt down two wanted bandits Billy and Dick.

Yosaku and Johnny got word that Billy and Dick are hiding in a large forest. So the Bounty Hunter dual decide to camp out in the forest hoping that they'll eventually spot the bandits.

After spending many hours in the forest, Johnny went into the bushes to take a leak. While Yosaku stayed behind at camp, reading the newspaper

Few minutes later Johnny came running out of the bushes screaming, saying he spotted a man sitting against a tree with a sack next to him, and that he looked like he was counting pieces of what it appears to be bones one by one.

During the night, Yosaku and Johnny lay in their tent trying to fall asleep. Then the wind start to blow. Yosaku then hears whistling. And the more he listened, it sounded as if it were near their tent.

But Johnny had got out of his sleeping bag, and huddled in the corner of the tent, his head buried in his arms.

"What's wrong Johnny?", said Yosaku.

"Its the Whistling Man", replied Johnny.

Suddenly, Johnny jumped onto his feet, and he started to run from the tent. But Yosaku grabbed him by the arm.

"Johnny! You can't leave me alone out here in the woods", shouted Yosaku.

Then the whistle is heard once again sounding very close to their campsite, and Johnny broke loose and ran into the dark woods. Yosaku chased after Johnny. Eventually Johnny ran fast than usual to the point were Yosaku couldn't catch up to him. Yosaku collapse to the ground and exhaustion, and hearing Johnny screaming as he ran, eventually Johnny's screaming were fading away, deep in the woods.

In the morning, Yosaku followed Johnny's footprints on the ground. They went through the woods, down towards a hill, which lead to a valley with a stream, Johnny's footprints disappeared in a pool of blood. Yosaku thought that Johnny was murdered. As he stood there in fear, he heard that whistling once again. It was coming from a nearby woods. Yosaku broke out of his state of fear, and decided to leave the forest as quickly as he can. He went back to his campsite and packed everything and left.

On his way out of the forest, Yosaku tripped over the branch and fell into a den. When Yosaku hit the ground it was soaken wet, at first he thought it was ground water, but when he got up he realized it was blood coming from a pile of skin and bones. Yosaku screamed in terror, and what's more frightening is when he got closer look at the decapitated heads that were among the dismantle body parts, he realized that it is the wanted bandits, Billy and Dick.

Yosaku heard whistling coming to his direction.

"IT'S THE MURDER!", he thought.

Yosaku quickly got out of the den, and ran for his life and not looking back. Eventually he succeeded leaving the forest, and made it to a small village.

Since then Yosaku has no idea what happen to Johnny, all he knows is that some crazy murder was in the woods, and killed Johnny along with the wanted bandits Billy and Dick.

Eventually Yosaku got word from some locals after hearing him report to authorities about Johnny, Billy, and Dick's murders, and told him that they must of been killed by The Whistling Man a.k.a. El Silbón.

As they explain to Johnny, The Whistling man, is an infamous legendary ghost figure in the Shishano Kingdom, whose name in that Kingdom is "El Silbón" (Whistling Man). In Shishano Kingdom they state that in life the Whistling Man was a "spoiled brat" named Trafalgar Law who came from another country with his parents, whose every wish was catered to by his parents. One afternoon he demands his father hunt for deer, since deer meat is his favorite food. But when his father refuse, he kills him and cuts out his organs. He then has his mother cook them for dinner. The mother starts to suspect something is amiss because the meat is tough. She discovers the organs belong to her husband's innards and cursed her son for eternity. Afterwards, her mother tied him to a post in the middle of the countryside, and lashed him until his back was destroyed. His wounds were then cleaned with alcohol and then his mother unreleased two rabid, starving dogs upon him. Before releasing him, his mother condemned him to carry the bones of his father, and walk on every seas in the world for all eternity. It has a characteristic whistle that resembles the musical notes of Blinks Brew. It is said that when his whistling sounds is close, there's no danger, and the whistler is far away, but when the whistling sounds distant, it means he is nearby. It is also said that hearing the whistling foretells one's own death, and one may hear it anywhere at any time. In this situation, the only thing that can save the victim is the sound of a dog barking (as it is the only thing the Whistling Man is afraid of), a chili, or a whip. The spirit tends to take revenge on strict individuals.

Many inhabitants of Shishano Kingdom say that they have seen it, primarily in the summer, a time when the Shishano Kingdom's savannah burns in the harsh drought. The Whistling Man sits in the trees and gathers dust in his hands. But it is mainly on rainy or humid days that the spirit wanders, hungry for death, and eager to punish drunkards, womanizers, or sometimes innocent victims. It is said that it sucks the alcohol out of drunkards through their navel when it finds them alone and that it tears womanizers to pieces, removes their bones, and puts them in the sack with remains of his father. Some versions say it appears as a giant of about six meters that moves about the treetops, creaking, and emitting its chilling whistle. Inside its old and tattered sack lie the bones of its father, or according to some renditions, its multiple victims. Other versions say he appears to be a slim tall thin young man, and wears a northern-style fur hat, which is white and has a spotted patterns, has faint shadows right under his yellow eyes, and his face is usually seen with a smirk. He has short dark hair, and has sideburns and a small goatee. His hair color is sometimes describe as being black others say he has blue hair. He is also stated to have a black cross on the back of both of his hands. On his chest, he has a tribal-style heart tattoo what seem to be his personal Jolly Roger. He has a simpler heart tattoo on his shoulders and his Jolly Roger tattooed on his back, and has many tribal-style tattoos on his arms; on both of his hands are letters spelled as D E A T H tattooed in black on each of the back of his fingers. He goes after drunkards most of the time. They say that the whistler can appear by a house on certain nights, drop his sack on the ground and count the bones one by one. If one hears it, nothing will happen, but if someone doesn't hear it before dawn, one person in your home will die.

Since then Yosaku became scared all the time, and is always looking around his surroundings, watching out from The Whistling Man.
