Edmund sat with his quidditch team on the way back home, which was nice. They were the only ones who actually wanted to talk with him for reasons that don't include the Chamber of Secrets or Harry. For Christmas Cedric had gotten a strategy book on quidditch and had some good input. It was surely going to improve their game.

The moment Edmund stepped into school, Hermione had grabbed him by the shoulder and pushed him to Harry. "Tell him about the book Harry, tell him about Riddle." And so he did, Riddle was some prefect, some boy who excelled in everything and such.

The most annoying thing that he was hearing at that moment, was that Professor Lockhart thought that he did everything on his own, the man was convinced that the culprit stopped because of him. Edmund wishes that he had such thoughts that the culprit had stopped, but the pit in his stomach was still there.

And then came the morale booster. Personally, Edmund's morale booster was training with his quidditch team and making tea for his friends. Lockhart had a different idea to it. For Valentines, the walls were all covered with large, lurid pink flowers, heart-shaped confetti fell from the pale blue ceiling. "Oh blimey." Edmund said and grimaced as he looked over at the Professor that thought this would all be a good idea.

Lockhart was wearing pink robes to match the decorations, he wouldn't have to use a camouflage charm if he were to walk by the decorated walls. It made him think about the Pink Panther show, something that he had watched with Mary. Edmund knew that his uncle was going to get a headache because of all the bright colours. "Happy Valentine's day!" Lockhart shouted, "I thank the 46 people who have sent me cards, so far!" The man winked and Edmund was sure that he heard a few Hufflepuffs coo at that. "I have taken the liberty of arranging a little surprise for you all!"

Edmund nearly let out a very loud groan that would have gotten him to receive unfriendly glares when Lockhart clapped and marched in a dozen dwarfs, wearing golden wings and harps. "My friendly, card-carrying cupids!" Lockhart beamed, "You'll see them around the school delivering valentines. And the fun doesn't-" He then went on to suggest that his uncle should make them a love potion, or for Flitwick to teach Entrancing Enchantments.

"Oh dear." Cedric whispered, "They look like they're going to jump him after dinner."

Edmund let out a laugh and muttered an apology to the glaring girls. "You should get one for Hermione, I think she'd like that." Cedric hummed and looked over at the Ravenclaw table where she sat with Cho. "I can get a dwarf to deliver them notes from you, to Hermione. And one from me, to Cho." He suggested, as if the Diggory had already planned it, he whipped out a piece of paper and a muggle pen. "Here, write something down."

"But-"

"We're both doing it!" Cedric urged and pushed it in his hand.

Edmund looked at him and nodded, if he wasn't going to do it, Cedric wouldn't have the bravery to do it as well. It is easier to take the plunge together rather than alone. "I don't know why I have to do it though." He muttered and neatly wrote down 'Happy Valentines' without his name.

"Why didn't you add your name?"

"Because it'll make everything weird." He argued.

"Right so," Cedric nodded and wrote something down on his piece of paper. "Smart boy." He said and started to write some words down. "How many dwarfs do you think you're getting?"

"If I'm lucky, none."

Edmund was wrong. He wished that the dwarfs stopped, never before had he expected to even get any dwarfs. But so far he has gotten maybe, five, or six. The first one was a complete surprise, then the second one came and he was a bit flattered. But then they kept coming.

"I'm going insane." Edmund said as he quickly started walking away, dragging his friends with him. "Who keeps sending them?" He muttered under his breath. Ron held the cards that he received in his hands.

"Well, Hannah Abbott signed hers." Ron said as he read the note, then took another as if they were flashcards, "So did, Katie Bell?" The ginger looked up at him, "You've got a third year, sending you a valentines card? Blimey mate, I'm jealous."

Edmund blushed at that, he didn't talk a lot with Katie. Maybe a few words about quidditch but that was it. "I'm sure it's because he's tall." Hermione muttered and Edmund blushed even more.

He was quite tall for his age, he already shot out from most of the kids in his year, "How would you know that?" Edmund asked quietly as he looked around, a bit paranoid. He really wanted to avoid the dwarfs.

"A lot of the girls talk about you, Edmund." Hermione sighed, "They always ask me questions about you, Susan already drew the line, a long time ago."

"You talk about me?" He asked. That was the first thought that came up in him, instead of asking who talks about him, and how many there were, no, it was if Hermione talks about him.

"All good things." Hermione nodded, "Some of the girls really like you." She answered but Edmund saw that she didn't feel quite bothered by it. He deflated slowly and gave her a weak smile. "They also like your hair." She added and squinted at it. "Always saying that it looks soft."

Harry and Ron snorted as Edmund blushed in embarrassment. "Merlin, Edmund. Even a slytherin sent you one!"

"What?" Edmund looked at him in confusion, he wasn't good friends with the Slytherins, at all. He even believes that most dislikes him, except for Draco. Draco, who was still trying to get into his good graces, threw notes at him with answers and books which he could use to write for the upcoming essay.

Edmund was trying to not let the guilt of unfriending him get to him but it was. Eventually, he started slipping notes of book recommendations in his bag as well. Their friendship was going slow, just the pace that Edmund needed.

"Daphne Greengrass." Ron enunciated. "Ice-queen! She doesn't really talk to anyone, like, at all!"

Edmund pursed his lips but stayed quiet, Harry however, didn't. "That's wrong, We saw her talk with Edmund a few months ago, they even sat together in DADA." Harry pointed out.

"That's right." Ron went through the other letters, "Swear? Hermione, your ravenclaw friend is in here as well, Padma?"

Hermione reached out and grabbed the letter, "Really?" She exclaimed and turned to look at Edmund, "You should ask her out, maybe study together in the library!" She squealed.

The Black was a bit stunned, honestly, he blinked and took in a breath. "I don't like her like that, Hermione." He said.

"You wouldn't know, you've only talked with her a few times!" Hermione argued, "Study together, once! Maybe then you'll like her." She stared at him with pleading eyes and he knew that he couldn't deny her anything. Actually, he'd give her anything she wants.

"Fine. Soon." Edmund sighed, "Don't tell her?"

"It'll be even more romantic if I don't." Hermione smiled.

Harry and Ron were looking at each other and fake puking. "Edmund is getting all of the girls, Harry! Can you believe that!" Harry laughed, "Leave some for us, you womaniser!"

Edmund let out a laugh but squeaked when he spotted a dwarf, he froze when Ron held him back, wanting to see who was giving him a letter now, but was pleasantly surprised when the dwarf called out Harry's name. The "cupid" grabbed a hold of Harry's bag, "Is a 'Hermione Granger' here as well?" The dwarf asked and the ravenclaw girl squeaked.

Edmund's eyes widened and he shrugged Ron off of him, which was easy since the boy was stunned. "Is there one for Ron Weasley as well?"

"No." The dwarf answered shortly.

"I'm running." Edmund muttered as he subtly looked at a blushing Hermione. The sight made him smile a bit. "Bye!" He grabbed his letters from Ron's hands and ran away, only to bump into his friend, maybe even an acquaintance.

"Draco." He greeted and looked behind him.

"Hey Edmund," He smiled, "What's going on here?" Draco asked a bit loudly as he looked at Harry and the cupid.

"I need to get out." Edmund said and walked past Draco, in a bit of a hurry and nearly ran into Professor Flitwick's class. He nearly begged the teacher to not let any dwarfs in today. He sat in the back with his robe over his head, the pink was giving him a headache.

He really felt like his uncle.

"Long day?" He heard a familiar voice ask. He looked up to see Susan, he let out a breath of relief, because he knows that she doesn't like him like that, at all and rather as a brother.

"Susan, you've been there for every dwarf." He pushed a hand through his hair, "It's been making me go insane."

Susan laughed at his misery, "Isn't it nice, knowing that a bunch of girls like you."

"I didn't even think I'd get one." He admitted, "I didn't really want one either." Shuddering at the thought of a dwarf dressed in that. "I'm even more surprised at how bold some are, signing it."

Susan sat next to him and took a hold of the letters. "Oh, Padma is considered to be one of the best-looking girls." She pointed out, "Daphne, some like the icey attitude that she has." She nodded, approvingly, "Katie Bell? Love her, really good chaser."

"I know that."

"Really like the rivalry dynamic." Edmund raised his eyebrow at that. "Hannah? Not surprised. Maybe a friend to lovers." She suggested and Edmund wasn't following anymore.

"Susan." He said as he saw more students streaming into the classroom.

The girl didn't look up from the unsigned letter, squinting as she read it, as if she was trying to find out who it was from the handwriting alone. "Yes?"

He slowly took the letters out of her hand, only struggling a bit in the beginning as she refused to let go of them. "Get your head out of the romance novels and into our charms books." He said, slowly. "I don't like them, like that."

"But-"

"I don't." He set his foot down, "Hermione-"

"You like Hermione?" She whispered.

He gave her a look and continued his sentence, "Hermione, managed to convince me to ask Padma out to study." He said, "But I don't like Padma like that."

"She does like you like that." Susan said as she tried to peek at the letters again. "You better clear that up before she gets other ideas."

Edmund nodded and they went quiet after Susan tried to peek again and he had to give her a sharp look as he buried them in his bag. "Thank you for drawing the line when you're talking about me. Hermione told me." He said quietly. The class was full but Flitwick hadn't started teaching yet. "I appreciate it."

Susan gave him a small smile, and one to Neville as he came to sit down next to Edmund. "Of course, I wouldn't want everyone to know everything through someone else about me." She shrugged.

He gave her a smile, "Seems rather impersonal, innit?" He said playfully.

Susan played along and nodded, "Correct you are, mate." Edmund laughed and randomly caught Hermione's eyes. He smiled at her but his smile quickly faltered as he saw Padma waving and blushing as well.

He gave the other ravenclaw a polite smile.

"Oh merlin." He heard Susan whisper, "You do like her."

Edmund blinked as he turned his head to her, "No-"

"Don't tell me that I'm reading too many romance novels, because this is happening right in front of me, and in my expertise, that look and smile you gave her?" Susan wiped away fake sweat, "Now I can finally imagine it properly, that's going to make reading so much better."

"Susan!" He said a bit loudly, making a few heads turn to look at them. He smiled apologetically and turned to look at his fellow Hufflepuff, "I don't-" He said quietly but was interrupted as Professor Flitwick was starting the lesson. He gave her another look before paying attention to the teacher, trying not to let his mind wander to the possibilities.

As soon as the class was over he walked out, only to be cornered by Lavender. "Did you get my letter, Edmund?" She said and stepped into his personal space. "Did you like it?"

Edmund blinked as he looked at the side, not really wanting to have his face in such close proximity with the girl, lest she gets any ideas. "I-" He faltered a bit as he tried to take a step back, only for her to take a step forward. "I didn't know a letter came from you," He tugged at his collar, "You didn't sign it."

"But I did." She pouted and put a hand on his shoulder. "The one with the kiss on it?"

Edmund blinked and his eyes widened. "Oh." He said, "I didn't know that was you-"

She continued to pout and Edmund did his best to not cringe. "You don't think about my lips-"

He pushed her hand off of his shoulder and took a few more steps back away from her, "I think that's quite enough." He said, clearly uncomfortable with all of that. "Thank you for the letter, Lavender."

The girl tried to take another step forward only for a familiar white-blonde boy to step in front of him, along with another who stepped up, Susan. He recognized. "That's quite enough." Draco repeated.

"It was a bit too pushy." Susan said honestly and Lavender stood on her tiptoes to look at Edmund, who was uncomfortably tugging in his collar. "Try to be less-"

"A lot less." Draco crossed his arms.

Lavender blew a kiss to Edmund before walking away, giggling. "Delusional, at best." Draco muttered as he turned around, giving Susan an appreciative look. "Draco Malfoy." He said and held his hand out.

Susan raised her eyebrow at the boy and shook his hand, "Susan Bones."

Draco subtly took his hand away from the handshake, as if he had touched bacteria. But he looked a bit conflicted. "Gryffindors." He scoffed, "Always talked about their bravery and boldness but never their obliviousness."

Susan bit back a smile. "I think we better hide in the basement, shouldn't we, Edmund?"

Edmund was looking around the halls and nodded, immediately ducking his head as he saw a dwarf wander around. "The common room sounds rather safe." He agreed, "I think that I might hate Valentines." He said.

Draco snorted, "Me too."

Susan shook her head, "Not me." She then reached over and pulled Edmund's hood over his head, "Let's go."

"Thank you, Draco." Edmund said and smiled at the boy and quickly barreled after Susan, not wanting to get caught by anyone. He had hit his limit a long time ago but this really set him over the edge, never before was he so uncomfortable. Nevertheless, they tapped the barrels and walked into the common room.

Cedric was lazing around on the couch but quickly looked up and grinned. "You've got more mail, Edmund." He called out in some sort of singing voice. "I heard you've had quite enough mail already."

Edmund held his breath as he looked at the couple more letters in Cedric's hand, the envelopes were open on the table. "Oh bloody hell." He said. Cedric looked confused at him, before looking over at Susan.

"He doesn't like the attention at all." She shrugged.

"Oh well," Cedric shrugged, "These are from a few girls in my year. Personally, I think that it is some tactic to let your guard down during quidditch matches because these are all the three chasers of Gryffindor."

Edmund blinked and opened his bag in front of Cedric. The older boy looked very confused as he hesitantly dropped the letters in his bag. "Thank you." The younger boy said and simply left for his dorm. Where he took a nap until dinner, where he was awkwardly avoiding the Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and the other end of the Hufflepuff table, where Hannah sat with all of his Hufflepuff friends, Susan and Neville.

Once again, he ate with his quidditch team. Cedric was teasing him about all of the valentine cards that he got and even started jokingly plotting something to make the chasers fall in love with him, so that they wouldn't even have to fight for the ball since they would just hand them over.

That made him crack a smile.

Before everyone cleared out of the Great Hall, Harry had called him over to tell everyone, collectively what he had found out from the diary. Edmund frowned, thinking that it couldn't get any crazier. "Hagrid would never let anything kill anyone." He defended the gentle giant. "He takes care of you, Harry. Is this how you repay him?" Edmund was a bit confused at Harry's attitude.

"Maybe he feels pity for me! The guilt might be eating at him for getting a girl killed!" Harry countered.

Edmund shook his head "Hagrid could never." He denied. On his schedule for today was tea with Dumbledore, he could ask something about it. The boy stood up from the bench and dusted his clothes. "If you'll excuse me, I have something to do."

"Are you asking Padma about it?" Hermione asked, her eyes brightening. "You're looking quite good in those clothes so I think she'd appreciate it."

Edmund blinked and shook his head slowly. "No." He simply said and walked away, there was something gnawing at him and he didn't want to acknowledge the feeling, at all.

When they were drinking their tea, Edmund straight up asked about it. He knew not to beat around the bush or ask anything vaguely, because he knew that the man would answer vaguely as well.

To get a clear answer from Dumbledore is to ask clearly. It was a long story but in conclusion, a student named Riddle. He was a bit sketchy from what Edmund understood. Accused Hagrid of having a monster that could kill and "did". Hagrid couldn't defend himself, lost his wand and the right to practise magic. Riddle was bestowed a prize to glorify him for stopping the killings.

Edmund asked Dumbledore if the man thought that Hagrid's monster or pet, did kill the girl. But the man didn't bother, saying that Edmund had to form his own opinions on the matter. Something in him said that the headmaster was trying to get an estimation on his thought process, but on the other hand, he thought that the headmaster was just giving him a free reign to form his own opinions without the influence of his.

Of course, he denied it again. Hagrid would never kill anyone.

"Padma, do you think you can help me with Herbology? I heard you're quite good at it, and well, Neville is a nervous mess about the test and he can't really explain well then." The ravenclaw looked amused at him.

"After class at the library? I always sit in the tenth aisle." She said.

Edmund smiled at her, "Thank you, Padma. I really appreciate it."

"It's no problem, really." They split up for their second last class and Edmund sat behind Hermione, Harry and Ron with Susan and Neville. The girl with the bushy hair turned around and smiled.

"Did you ask?"

"I suppose so." Edmund answered, stiffly.

"Good." Hermione hummed and looked back forward.

The boy pursed his lips and noticed that Neville was studying but Susan was staring at him. He let out a breath and looked at her, raised his eyebrow and that was enough to set her off. "You really hated that, didn't you?" She whispered.

"She looked happy about it." He said, weakly.

"You didn't." Susan countered. "How long are you going to be in denial?"

"Until I want to." Edmund said shortly and opened his notebook, ready to take notes. Class ended at last and the boy quickly made his way to the library, his bag weighed down with all of the herbology books that he had in his possession, which was a lot less than Neville.

He reached the tenth aisle and was quite surprised when he saw Padma sit there, studying with her books open in front of her. "Hey." He said, quietly.

The girl finished reading her sentence and looked up, "Hey Edmund," She smiled at him and he sat down in front of her. "You look tired."

"I am tired." He gave her a small smile, "Herbology has been keeping me up but I just can't understand."

"That's what I'm here for." Padma said and stood up, walked around the table so that she's looking over his shoulder. He had put small notes between the marges to remember what he didn't quite understand, "Organised." She hummed.

Edmund let out an amused mess, "I'm messy, so the only thing keeping me sane is that my studies are organised."

Padma giggled softly, "I understand, Hermione is like that as well."

"I know." Edmund had a fond smile on his face. He didn't notice how Padma looked down at him with a look on her face before she began explaining it to him. He listened closely and took notes while she explained.

After nearly an hour, he finally understood his questions as to why something was the way it was. "Thank you, really." He let out a breath of relief. "Don't think I would've passed the test if I didn't know this."

"Well it is a base for most of the subjects that we need to know for the test." Padma agreed and sat back down in front of him. "Why did you ask me to tutor you?"

"Well beca-"

"It isn't because Neville." Padma cut him off. "He looked stressed but not frazzled. Why didn't you ask Hermione? I'm sure she would've helped you."

He had been avoiding Hermione a bit, after all what Susan had said caused him to think and that caused him to feel the urge to push down his growing feelings for her. "She's busy."

"We're housemates and best friends. I know when she's busy or not." Padma countered and Edmund was at loss for words. "Why did you ask me?"

"She suggested I should, because of your valentine's letter." He admitted truthfully. "She thought I might realise that I would have feelings for you if we hung out."

"I think that she's putting your feelings in the wrong person." She said with a knowing glance in her eyes, right beside the sad ones. "Does she know?"

"Know what?"

"That you have feelings for her." Padma leant back in her chair, looking slightly smug. Like the detectives Edmund reads about in the books. "Does she know?"

"No." Edmund looked at the book in front of him, "I don't think me having feelings for Hermione is a good idea." This is the first time he talked about it in a public space with someone who wasn't Susan.

"Why not?"

"Because it has the potential to destroy everything." Edmund said, "If she doesn't see me the same way that I do, it can ruin our friendship."

"True. But the potential to destroy also has the potential to create, doesn't it?" Padma argued, "With potential to destroy comes potential to create."

"A double-edged sword." Edmund nodded and smiled weakly. "You've seen the way she wasn't bothered by any of the letters I got from girls on valentines. She wasn't even bothered by, uhm, Lavender."

"She was quite happy for me that you saw my letter."

Edmund let out an amused smile, "She was very excited for you."

"Look at us now." Padma giggled. "Think about your feelings, Edmund. At the end of the day they are yours and yours alone." The ravenclaw started gathering her stuff but Edmund stayed in his seat. "Dinner is in an hour. I'm going to freshen up." Before she left the table to leave Edmund to his thoughts, she smiled at him.

"We should talk more, Edmund. I'll get over the silly thing that I have for you. Time moves and it doesn't stop for anyone." She snorted, "That was a riddle to the tower for a while."

"What moves and doesn't stop for anyone?"

"Some Gryffindors, boyfriends of some older students." She giggled, "Said that it was the police."

Edmund cracked a smile. "Time is a better answer."

"I think so as well."

It's been four months since Justin has been petrified and the mood had fallen greatly in the common room. Especially since Ernie mentioned that Justin's birthday was nearing, Edmund couldn't imagine learning that you missed your birthday because you've been petrified by some beast.

Then march came, mandrakes were maturing now. The weirdest sign that made everyone happy was that they threw a loud party in greenhouse three. Edmund wonders if anyone ever thought of throwing a party in there and blaming it on the mandrakes.

Hermione and Edmund were constantly talking about their subjects that they will take in the next year. Hermione was leaping to unattainable subjects to take and the determination to learn everything she could get her hands on made Edmund's heart leap.

He ignored that leap. Pushing it down and denying it. Some days, Neville and Susan would join the two in the library. The Longbottom shared the advice that he received from his family which really helped him a big deal.

Hermione signed up for everything while Edmund signed up for Arithmancy, Study of Ancient Runes and Care of Magical Creatures. He didn't like the thought of Divination, predicting the future through unstable methods. But he did like Magical Creatures, having a fascination for them. He already studied the behaviour of his cat, who is half-kneazle, and called Piri. Piri was short for Pirithous, Pirithous was Theseus' companion in the Greek myth.

Edmund thought that it was fitting.

While choosing a subject as an elective for the next year was tiring, so happened to be the new drills that their quidditch captain was putting them through with the smug help of Cedric. The next match was against Gryffindor and the chances of Hufflepuff winning the cup again was high. They had improved so much. Edmund nearly forgave Cedric of all the sore muscles he got because of the seeker. It was a ritual for them to discuss every tactic they had at breakfast before a match. It wasn't much of a ritual anymore since Edmund had united everyone to sit together for every meal, being that he still wasn't liked by Ernie, who always sat with Neville and Susan.

Over Cedric's shoulder he saw Hermione jump up, wearing the usual eureka look on her face after she was sitting with Ron and Harry. He looked at her, fondly. He had been doing that a lot.

And it seemed like he wasn't the only one who noticed. "Don't let her distract you too much from our game today." Cedric teased from beside him.

Edmund looked over at the seeker and squinted before looking over at Padma and Cho. "I could say the same to you. Didn't they agree to sit in our tribunes?" Cedric sputtered a bit and turned quiet.

Hermione passed Edmund and the boy turned around to catch her arm. "What did you find out?" He asked.

"Only Harry can hear it! Serpent!" She called out before she walked away. His grip around her arm was loose. She looked excited but all Edmund really noticed was that she wore her hair differently today. He hummed and turned back to his team.

Beatrice snorted, "God, they start young." She muttered and Cedric bursted out laughing from next to her. They continued to discuss the match strategy after Cedric finally calmed down.

Eventually they got up and went to the quidditch pitch. They walked in a group next to a Gryffindor onto the field. Edmund happened to walk next to Katie Bell, who was smiling at him. His smile falters when he remembers her valentines letter, he never knew that Katie liked to see his forearms flex whenever he reached out for the quaffle, or when his arms are showcased when he throws it.

Then, Professor McGonagall came marching and running across the pitch, carrying an enormous megaphone. If you were to ask Katie and Ginny, who were looking at Edmund and Harry, they could describe the exact moment they could feel their heart drop inside of their chest.

"This match has been cancelled." Sounded through the megaphone.

"You can't cancel quidditch!" Wood called out, looking disgruntled and panicked. "All students make their way to their House common rooms. Your head of houses will give further information. And make haste!" She announced.

Edmund was looking at the tribunes, looking, trying to figure out which face was missing, who was the other shoe to drop. "Potter, Lupin. I think it's better that you'd come with me." Ron came running over, "You're coming with as well, Mr. Weasley."

His heart dropped once more when he only counted the three of them, "Surely it isn't her, Professor." Edmund said quietly.

Professor McGonagall just looked out in front of her and continued to walk. All that they could do is follow her like ducklings after their mother. Madam Pomfrey was leaning over an older student from Ravenclaw and next to her in the bed was Hermione.

Edmund felt like he couldn't breathe.

"Hermione!" Ron groaned. Hermione lay utterly still, her eyes open and glassy.

"They were found near the library," said Professor McGonagall. "I don't suppose either of you can explain this? It was on the floor next to them." The professor then held up a small, circular mirror.

"I bought her that for Christmas." Edmund said quietly, "I don't know why she'd have it on her."

"I will escort you back to Gryffindor Tower," said Professor McGonagall heavily. "I need to address the students in any case." She then turned to look at Edmund. "I believe that Madam Pomfrey can bring you after she attended to her patients."

The way she called Hermione and the older student, patients, made it all too real for Edmund. The moment they left, he started to gasp for air as he felt like he couldn't take anything in. In a haze of being unable to breathe, he was guided to a chair and was handed a bag for him to breathe in.

"And like that, I can see Lupin in you." Madam Pomfrey said as she rubbed his back. The curtain was drawn around her patients and Edmund could finally feel himself breathe, and his heart rate slow down. "Calm down, Edmund." She comforted him. "They'll be back normal again when-"

"The mandrakes start moving into each other's pots." Edmund said, repeating the words of the Hufflepuff head and his Herbology teacher.

"Right so." Madam Pomfrey said and gave him a glass of water along with a potion in a vail. "You haven't been sleeping, boy." She noted, "This is enough for a week, one drop with a drink and you'll have a good night's sleep."

"But-"

"No, Edmund." She argued. "You need it, the only reason you feel well rested is because of the quidditch match today. You won't be sleeping after all this, I know of your troubles, boy."

Edmund nodded, there was no point in arguing anymore. Nobody could debate against him like Hermione did.
