The night when it all began.

Under the unfinished bridge. Zone Three.

The meeting wasn't postponed. Gang members and buyers of the chemicals met under the bridge. Sellers had never found the barrel but they also didn't have enough time to steal a new one from the chemical plant. The found an empty barrel on the garbage field and made it look as real as possible. Unfortunately for them buyers were not that stupid. From the first glance on the barrel they knew they had been lied to so they pulled out guns. The gang pulled out guns in return. It was when the White Shadow found two parties they turned guns on each other ready to shoot. Drunks and crack heads didn't pay any attention to what was going on right under their noise. The buyers shot first they were very violent and mad. It looked like they had instructions to kill sellers because they didn't want anyone know about chemical business they were doing. First shots fired some of them hit innocent homeless guys and it was when sellers got an answer back. Shoot out was growing rapidly when the White Shadow took the first gang member out and nobody noticed then she took the second one. The gang had more men and guns compare to buyers so the White Shadow figured out buyers would die faster. She didn't care to save no one because both parties were breaking the law but she most definitely didn't want anyone of them to get out. She was invisible for quite long time and kept taking down gang members who spread out under the bridge. Last shot was fired from behind the car where buyers were hiding all of them were dead.

Fuckers! – screamed one of the gang members. – They killed so many of

ours! We got them!

The White shadow counted seven alive gang members were gathering around dead bodies of their friends.

Bro! It's not a gunshot wound! It's like a knife or something! – screamed

one of the men. – We are not alone here! It must be that White Shadow they were all talking about.

Shit, get in the car quickly!

The White Shadow was tired and had no idea how to stop guys in the car from leaving but she knew she must stop them. As soon as the car engine was turned on and a car was about to drive the black and heavy shadow dropped on the car roof squishing it in.

Tall and strong dark figure stood up on a top of the car. Passengers were leaving in panic but they didn't run far. They had been stopped by a batrope the dark figure thrown so fast. The Batman pulled all seven guys together tightened them up and held them upside down on the batrope in the middle of fire and ruin under the bridge. The police sirens were coming closer and Justice decided it was time to retreat and left unseen. She was sure the Batmen didn't see her hiding behind one of the tents. Justice walked deep under the bridge and stopped next to the bridge's first column. Justice looked back where not so long ago a homeless people camp was. It was all destroyed now. A lot of innocent people were lying here and there. People who weren't involved in this sell-buy situation but the Zone suffered from drug addiction and homeless a lot and there were always problems with people under the bridge. Maybe after their camp got destroyed and friends were dead some of them especially young once could get back to regular life or at least try…

Justice wasn't satisfied with one thing she still didn't know who the buyers were. She smelled burned wood and cars tiers and decided to leave the place. She did her best. Bad guys kind of killed each other and the rest of them got trapped by Batman.

Suddenly, a strong and massive hand grew out of the darkness right in front of Justice picked her up on the neck and pressed against a column of the bridge. The Batman came out of darkness almost like invisible dark force the extension of the night. Justice felt pressure on her neck her feet was above the ground jiggling in the air.

Last time we've met I told you what would happen if I see you one more

time. - his voice was deep and quiet stone cold and velvet soft in the same time.

He held Justice gently but powerfully she had just enough air to breathe.

I remember. - whispered she grasping some air.

The White Shadow's cape covered her eyes and everything she could see was Batman's square jaw and thin but sensual lips.

- I'm a man of my word. - Batman freed Justice and she landed on her feet feeling dizzy. The same second when he let her neck free of his grasp he squeezed her cape and started to drag woman towards the camp. There were already some police cars pulled up and fire trucks flashing their sirens.

- Hey! Hey! What are you … no, just stop! Listen! - Justice tried to reason an angry man or maybe Batman wasn't angry and it was his usual way of dealing with people.

- You are breaking the law and put yourself in grave danger. I'll give you to authorities to decide.

She couldn't go to jail or even to a police station, Justice had a panic attack. She saw cops were walking in the shootout area and some of them started to notice Batman coming out from under the bridge. They pointed on her with fingers and called for backup. The hood was still covering Justice's face she tried to pull it off to meet the Batman's face but the way he dragged her on the ground it was impossible.

- Hey! Stop there! - screamed one policeman. - It's the Batman, sir! - cop talked to somebody on the radio.

- He is bringing somebody else to us, you idiot! He is helping! - screamed a second cop. - Put you gun down, sergeant!

The first cop listened the order and put his gun back to a gun holster on his belt.

- Whom is he bringing? Can you see?

- I don't know yet! There is somebody in a white cloak! Call for back up, now!

There they were Batman with the White Shadow on her knees and on the other side fifteen police officers with blinking lights behind their backs.

"Is he going to give me up to them? Just like that! No not fair!" - Justice tried to stand up from her knees but Batman still holding her cape pushed her back down.

Justice tried to calm herself down she needed to tell Batman something important before she was going to be arrested. She just hoped he wouldn't give her to police. If captain Gordon learned about her arrest and her secret of being that White Shadow all Zone was talking about he would be devastated.

- Batman! Batman, listen to me! - started Justice with shaking voice.

- Stay where you are, sir! My captain is going to talk to you! - raised voice one officer.

Cops stood thirty steps away from Batman they were afraid but in the same time they wanted to make an arrest of the person in a white cloak.

James Gordon walked in front of his men and stopped looking towards Batman and his prey.

- I'm Captain Gordon! Please, leave the person on the spot where you are and step five steps away. We would like to proceed with the arrest.

- Batman! Listen… - Justice choked on her cloak because Batman clenched it even more in his fist. -Those killings. Those killings in Gotham City. - whispered Justice.

Batman had no intention to interfere in police procedure of an arrest but those words the woman just said seconds ago caught his attention and he stood still. He would leave moments ago but she wanted to say something. Maybe it could help him in the multiple murders case and strange messages what were found on scenes.

Talk. - said Batman not even moving his lips this way cops couldn't hear

him.

Justice swallowed her fear and looked up to the Batman. Her cape fell off on her back and she stared right in his eyes but his gaze was still on cops.

I know who is doing it. I can read all messages he leaves and I can give you

his name and names of some of his friends. Please, Batman, help me!

He didn't even look at her but let her cape go and stepped one step behind her. Justice dropped on the ground and covered her face from Gordon's eyes. He could still see her face and recognize her even thirty steps away and all those flashing lights.

Cops started to move towards the White Shadow. She felt like Batman getting back in the darkness of the bridge.

I can help! We were in the same orphanage together with him. - hissed

Justice and looked back into the darkness. Batman wasn't there anymore, he left he gave her up to cops.

Gordon would be so disappointed knowing it was her who was killing bad guys in the Zone Three for almost eight months. She saw cops getting closer they didn't run but walk slowly holding hands on their guns.

Justice tilted her head and covered her face even more she was still sitting on the ground her neck hurt from chocking.

Suddenly, strong force of power took her by the waist and pulled her up. Her breath was taken away by the speed she was moving with. She saw how cops raised their heads up and they become so small. Then the scariest thought came to her mind. "I'm up in the air far-far from the ground and if I'm going to fall I'm bead. I am dead." - she had never been on rollercoasters but that how it felt.

She saw the ground and fire trucks were so little and people even smaller. She wanted to scream from the panic and fear but she couldn't her breath and voice stopped in silence. These second of flight up were the longest and endless seconds of her life. She had never been afraid of height but such speed made her dizzy and she relaxed all her mussels. Somebody was holding her tight and she felt safe.

Seconds later she was up on the unfinished bridge and all those police cars and people were left behind. Here up high was dark and cold, stones and wires were everywhere. Justice was tossed on the bridge and all she heard was rustle of wings and whistle of the wind…
