Logan drove a car as fast as he could. His crew tried to get footage of the fight emerged under the unfinished bridge. He learned about it very abruptly and called everyone in. They needed to be there before cops because those boys would block everything and restrict the entrance to the scene.
-How you know? - asked Elle, a camera woman in the news crew.
-I have my own ways. - said Logan being focused on the road.
-Is the fight still going on? Is it even safe? - asked Jim from the back seat, he was a microphone guy.
-I don't know. Just got the info about a shooting under the bridge. Some gang members shooting each other, I guess.
They were on the scene when the shooting was over and the whole camp under the bridge was on fire. Elle got some interesting shots of dead gang members and burning tents. They couldn't get closer and had to do footage from the far.
-Hey! Look there! Get the camera! Get the camera! On you left right there a black car! - Logan screamed behind the woman's back and pointed in the right direction.
There was him. The Batman stood on the car when bunch of guys tried to get out. The camera got a good and clear video of how Batman pulled all those guys with a batrope, locked them together and hanged above the car for the police to arrest criminals. After that scene all camp got smoky, and the news crew had to stop. Moreover, cops were coming from all different directions. Sirens were close.
-Let's go! Fast! Maybe we will have a chance for more footage! - gave order Logan and people followed him to the camp. They put shirts and scarfs over their noses not to breathe smoke.
They got to the bottom place under the bridge. There was nobody Batman took off and all gangsters were waiting for police to arrive.
-Take some pics of these guys hanging. - said Logan to his camera woman.
Right when she took some videos the first police car pulled up. Fire trucks were coming next, the unfinished bridge could easily catch the fire.
The news crew decided to leave unseen. By the time they got to the car Logan looked back and saw cops pointing guns on something or somebody in the smoke.
-Hold on guys! Look! Get the camera ready!
The whole crew looked back and saw Batman walking towards cops and next to him somebody in a white cape was sitting on the knees.
-White Shadow?! Is he insane? - screamed Elle trying to get a closer shot.
-I don't understand… Is he giving her to cops! Idiot! - Jim was standing with wide open eyes. - What's going on, Logan?
-I don't know guys I'm watching it with you… maybe Batman has a plan… let's see.
Couple minutes Batman and his prey didn't move but police slowly were coming closer. Video wasn't clear because of the far distance and smoke from the camp but it was clear when Batman left the White Shadow on the ground and stepped back. Captain Gordon was there as well, a camera captured him talking to Batman right before the vigilante disappeared in the darkness. Couple seconds the White Shadow didn't move three suddenly…
-Wow! What's just happened!? - screamed Elle. - I lost the White Shadow, I think cops lost it too!
-He pulled it on top of the bridge! - said Logan pointing on the top of the massive structure under the dark sky.
-My camera can't see anything. What should I do, Logan?
-I think we have enough. Batman is gone.
They waited couple more minutes and saw more police and fire trucks coming.
It was late night, but they decided to get the news out there tonight, so the crew headed back to the office.
The office building was old, and the news team was renting a place on the second floor. Just two rooms with a bathroom. It was enough place for three computers and a long desk for meetings and lunches.
Logan's phone rang when he was driving on Main Street.
-Hello. What? When!? No, we just were there two hours ago! Impossible! I'm almost there! - he hung up the phone and press the gas.
-What? What happened? - asked Elle and Jim together.
-The office is on fire!
-Our office!? - Elle held for a door handle of a car, breathing heavily. - Computers!
-Everything! - Jim hugged his own head. - Hurry!
The owner of the building rented the first floor to a small barbershop and a second floor to Logan. When the fire started the owner of the barbershop was still inside. He called fire department and the owner. First, he smelled something burning but thought it was from the street. Smell grew stronger and then smoke came out it was when the barber called for help. By the time the news crew got to the building it was fully on fire and no signs of fire trucks.
-No! No! They are all under that fucking bridge! - screamed Jim trying to get closer to the building.
There was only one police car and two police officers tried to control the crowd. People were making videos and pictures; somebody was on the phone with 911.
-What to do, Logan?
-Make the camera ready, take some shots. We have to make the best of it. - said the man.
It was impossible to go inside the building it was too late the fire was blasting through the windows and doors, roof was smoky and there was cracking noise from the inside.
The owner of the building was devastated he was still calling 911 and trying to get fire trucks but they weren't coming. Only when one of the walls collapsed inside people heard sirens of fire department but by that time it was too late.
