-I have no idea how he got to the mayor! Mr.Fisher was about to be evacuated on a helicopter to the state land. I sent some of my guys to follow Mr. Fisher to a helicopter landing platform north-east of the city. When they got to his office they were told that the mayor already left protected by his bodyguards. I told my people to go and check that helicopter platform but it is a private platform so they couldn't get to it but the security told them that the mayor left in a helicopter ten minutes prior. - James Gordon's void was trembling a little, it was no joke to lose a city mayor to some crazy guy nobody knew about. - Batman we need your help! - said he in the end quietly.
-I'm going to do my best. - Batman hanged up the call.
-What do you think he is about to do with the mayor? - he asked White Shadow.
-Well… the mayor looks scared, he has some sights of fight so he was brought to this studio or whatever by force, his hair all messy but I guess he was told to just play along and Evan, I think, promised him freedom after the translation.
-But…? - Batman knew there was a "but".
-But … I don't think our mayor is getting alive from that room. - said woman in white.
Batman didn't answer he tried to find the signal he had to find the signal or shut down TV stations but it won't help much people still had internet. Meanwhile Evan continued his monologue and the mayor was now sitting opposite from Evan, he was scared but tried not to show it.
—Enough talks. Rules are simple. On your screens you see the phone number, or a QR code with their help you can make a difference. I will ask our mayor questions and he is going to answer them. Right, Mr. Fisher?
-R..r..right, yes. - mayors voice was shaking a little.
-Great! So, people of Gotham you just make a choice if you like his answer or no. We will have every vote count, call or press "yes" or "no" on your screens. You see it's simple. Let's start from easy question to check how well you understood the rules.
-Anything? - asked White Shadow.
-No… I don't know how …
The translation was goin on and the first question emerged on the bottom of a TV screen and Evan repeated it out loud talking to a still shaking mayor.
-Mr. Mayor our first question is: "The year was 1985 and you was just a city worker for Gotham City Election Department but you got involved in a scam and election fraud of one of our previous mayors Mr. Hill. Miraculously you escaped the punishment and got very good position in Mr. Hill's office. Our question is: Was you saved by Mr.Hill after his election as a mayor of Gotham? I remind our voters that you have to judge the honesty of an answer so Mr.Mayor was you saved from fifteen years of prison by a newly elected mayor Hamilton Hill?"
-N…n…no! No! I don't know what are you talking about I have never been involved in crime…and I ..
-Thank you Mr.Fisher people will decide now how honest was your answer.
There were two lines for answers "No" and "Yes" and they started to move.
-Look, Batman! - Justice pointed on the screen.
-It's an old story but rumors were actually true. Hill really put down the whole story about his unfair elections into the grave.
-Did you know that Fisher was helping that election fraud?
-No, I wasn't in the city that time … I wasn't Batman yet. I traced the signal but… I can't cut it off it's outside of the country it's somewhere in Thailand. It will take a while to break into the system.
-Will you try at least?
-I'm on it.
-Wow wow wow! Look at this! People remember, hah! - Evan screamed from the screen. - People, Mr. Mayor didn't like your answer! 98% of people think you are laying. We should continue then! Next question: "Is that true that you are as a public servant have fifteen real state properties outside of our country which are all written on your wife's name?"
-What!? No I don't! I live in Gotham City!
-Hm… the papers say different. - the screen now was showing real estate papers with the name of mayor's wife on it, signed by her hand and notarized. All fifteen of them.
-I didn't know about that scam. - said Batman without turning to the screen.
-Apparently, people didn't know ether so they voting "No" again. - said White Shadow watching how a "No" line was getting longer and longer.
-Oh, well. I guess our voters didn't like your answer Mr. Mayor. Next question! "Is that true you got elected with help of Gotham City biggest mafia syndicate? Syndicate payed for abnormal amount of advertising, TV time and newspapers for your campaign…"
-No! People of Gotham choose me! - screamed mayor.
-We will see if they agree about that. Hmmm seems like they didn't like your answer mayor and I wonder why!? Maybe because a polling rate wasn't that big, majority of people refused to vote they just simply didn't care about any of candidates but you miraculously won anyway. Let's don't forget all recent scandals with your name of course people didn't want to vote for you! I guess our next question is: "How is that so that you won the past elections anyway?"
-I won because people of Gotham..
-Choose you… oh, yes… keep telling yourself that but it seems like they don't like your answers and they kinda voting against you now… but where is all your mafia support now? Where are they why wouldn't they come and save you? Oh no you don't need to answer that question but the next one: "is that true that your wife who's name on all your properties is hidden in Arkham Asylum?"
-Is that true? Batman? - asked White Shadow but when she turned around the room was empty. -Batman? Where did he go!?
To be continued….
