Although he came knowing what might happen, he was still rather surprised when he found her without any difficulty inside the conference room. When her eyes easily found him, he shouldn't be surprised since he had kind of expected it, yet he still was.

There was indeed a light tint of lavender on her pale eyes as the heavy-lidded set widened under the glare of indoor lighting. Her headshot had captured her button nose and full lips immaculately, but it had no chance to capture the way they moved, the way they created expressions that only his own eyes could observe. Her fairly round face was framed by loose midnight hair down to under bust, while its actual length reaching down to the small of her back.

She was beautiful, so beautiful that it dawned on him so suddenly.

It was selfish of him to attend the ceremony solely because he wanted to see her in person. It was foolish of him to be here to see for himself if his presence alone could affect her.

It wouldn't do him any harm.

In the building with supposedly no Omega, inside the room full of excitable Alphas, it would only do her every harm possible.

With only reaching her in time and bringing her anywhere but here set in mind, he strode towards her.

Someone he didn't bother to acknowledge approached him, he gave an offhanded reply, and with a curt nod left the exchange without closure.

He was already halfway when she suddenly turned around so her back was facing him.

Everything around him was a blur as he made his way towards the suspecting Omega. Everything was a mere ripple of movements, a perpetual whirlwind of colors, and an utter noise of non-importance.

Everything but her.

Once within arm reach, he smoothly halted behind her. "I need you in my office," he mentioned almost too late, since it had been reaching for her wrist first that came to mind.

With his heart thumping against his ribcage for other possible reasons aside from dreading the impending heat to start and with only his office in mind as the reachable sanctuary, he pulled her with him worming their way out between unsuspecting warriors of Anbu.

He caught the first sniff of her pheromones right in front of his office's door. Unconsciously, he gripped her wrist harder and before a moment had passed he decided wrapping an arm around her trembling shoulder would be more efficient. He took a brief lookout to the whole corridor with the Sharingan and only after ensuring that it was empty he then opened the door, brought her with him inside, and locked the door behind him in swift and neat movements—immaculately masking his internal turmoil.

He only had one thought in mind as he ushered her to the mahogany desk belonging to the Konoha Defence Division. "Sit on the desk. I'll make it quick."

In spite of her less than adequate current condition, she was still putting up fight. Sasuke was at a loss for a moment when she managed to free herself from his hold.

In that lapse of self-possession, an alarm inside his head somehow went off. What had he been doing? From deciding to appear in the last minute of today's ceremony to walking back to his office now with an Omega in heat were all done for … himself alone. All was done to put his fastidious heart at rest. Had he thought of her feelings? Would he even let her have a say in this? Had he been forcing himself on her?

Yet even when she made her intention to leave known without looking at him on the eye, he found himself saying, "Nonsense."

"I will take care of it myself."

At the lack of rational judgement in her answer, it was hard to allow her the liberty to flee, to break free from him only to end up trapped with possible consequences that are easily avoidable by only complying.

It was hard to avoid justifying his hardly acceptable actions when she wasn't being rational. "How so? You don't suppose to use your emergency injection that was proven to be ineffective?"

And when her scent intensified suddenly, his patience ran out.

"Hyuuga!" He gripped her shoulders like one would to their only lifeline. She wasn't the only one having a hard time.

Her eyes wandered about until they met his. When she blinked, tears poured down her cheeks unbound. "Please … make it stop."

What happened next took its course as if premeditated, like he had secretly envisioned the steps he had to go through, like he had predicted the possibility of it happening.

Like he had wished it to occur.

The first time it had worked by bringing her to the peak—passable as a mere chance. But Sasuke had never believed in a coincidence. He wasn't merely lucked out when he managed to defeat an enemy with the same move twice. When he had calculated it would be a triumphant move, then it would.

Yet, inside the office he'd managed to conquer after collecting countless defeats of Konoha's enemies, Sasuke found himself betting on everything to use the same move the second time.

He could only hope this time it would work as well.

With the Omega partially sitting down on his desk, he bent down to her eye level, couldn't help the rise of a smirk as a tribute to the irony of their—her predicament. Now his head at the same level as hers, her pheromones heaved intensely that he regretted the change of position immediately.

They awoke … something, something inside him gradually. Something he hadn't known of its existence … not until his first encounter with her.

Mark her…

Before he allowed the liberty of his much darker consciousness taking its course to overpower him, as a way to make defense he bit out, "Try to endure it."

make her mine.

"I'll get this done with as fast as possible."

He knelt down then, anything to be away from her neck, Sharingan activated as he did.

Sasuke hadn't thought of what to do when he decided to kneel down. But once her effervescent center came into view, he was instantly enchanted. He had touched her there … a truth that rang more like a lie. It had been dark, there was no chance for him to have a look, nor he had the thought to attempt a glance considering the circumstances.

But with the usual indoor lights that seemingly illuminated the room brighter than usual, he could see everything.

Only one thing predominated in mind at the sight of something so beautiful—savor it.

So he did.

Tasting her was something he hadn't thought he needed. She tasted of medicine—it cured his mind off troubling beliefs into only having thoughts about her, which seemed to be a paradox since medicine shouldn't have tasted this delightful.

No matter how many times he swallowed down her essence, she only produced more. He couldn't allow a single drop unattended.

As she squirmed about noticeably harder and an acute upsurge of her pheromones perceived the more intoxicating, there was this looming fear everything would come to an end eventually when she hit climax. He wasn't ready to let go … just yet.

Sasuke pulled his head suddenly, eyes completely fixated to the object before him deserving his worship.

Not yet.

He half-realized he had said it aloud, but he couldn't care less, the thought immediately left him when he dived for another taste of her. He felt like a madman as he wasn't having full control of his person—mind and body. He was thinking about matters he hadn't bothered to touch before. He was doing things he hadn't thought he was capable of doing or even knowing how until he met her.

The fact that now he was also utilizing his fingers was a proof, one that was unequivocally undebatable.

Then her hands gripped him on both of his upper arms which only acted as a leverage for him to be even more daring—and feverish.

Her grips then tightened, followed by another upsurge of her inebriating scent, which only implied his yet another success in executing the same move twice. Only then, did his ears start to perceive outer sound of her moans apart from his own inner dispute.

His eyes widened.

The sudden control shift had him eventually realizing he hadn't been himself.

In a haste, he rose to full height and made way towards any space behind her. Now with Sharingan deactivated his eyes piercing through something that wasn't really the paneled window before him and his right hand—raw and dripping and still very much sensing the ghost of her walls—curled into a tight fist, he straightened his back, an attempt to exude fake composure.

"Let's talk some other time," he said curtly before all achieved poise vaporize into nothingness. "You can go."

Sasuke was hyperaware of some rustling behind him as his eyes fixated to a splotch of rain water stain right at the level of his eyes. Not until more rustling later that finally the Hyuuga went quiet. The quiet didn't last long.

"I'll be taking my leave, Uchiha-taichou."

Once her pheromones left his office behind closed door, he inhaled deeply, swaying subtly as he did. With a hand gripping on the nearest corner of his desk as a way to steady himself, he finally took the proper breaths he hadn't been taking.

It was the first time he had the instinct to … mark her. The first time he had a lapse of consciousness as well…

What would he have done had he not realized in time that he had been losing his self control over … himself?

Still working on his breathing, Sasuke closed his eyes tightly. His brain rolled back to a recent memory, one that had been placed on the surface for easy reach.

He knew enough, he told himself. It was time to go back. "Kakashi," he said instead, "When you said mating with an Alpha, did you mean 'marking'?"

"It seems like an unlikely option, isn't it?" Kakashi replied instead, because even Sasuke knew that his former sensei knew what was going on inside the head of the only Alpha in the room. "In time, you'll know why fate is included in the naming. By then, it won't be as difficult to accept anymore. It's not wise to draw any lines, one shouldn't resist what is predestined…"

Sasuke opened his eyes gradually, instead of Kakashi's office, his own office came back in view. The briefest image of her neck flickered teasingly. By activating his Sharingan deliberately, the flawless piece of fair skin pervaded his eyesight.

Marking… in what magnitude does it hold?

Happy Birthday, Sasuke.

Author's Note :

We'll have to see the recap of their first time going all the way from Sasuke's head and after that we'll be back to 3 am in the morning. Since we are all pretty much enlightened of what has transpired on that night-afternoon, I'll be using a different style… I'm trying to incorporate between flashbacks and present time (not the 3 am present time, but Sasuke's present time in this timeline… does it make sense lol).

I hope next chapter won't be too confusing.

I'll also be working on SH Month 2022 this August, it's going to be a collection of related drabbles and continuation of my SHM 2021 project I posted here in my account last year, wish me luck.

Take care, you all.
