Chapter 18

Naruto sat at his desk. Looking at all the files that had been sent to him. Request for the Four Horsemen, or teams that would be able to handle a Horsemen mission. Placing the file down upon the desk, Naruto closes his eyes. 'This is too much. I cannot allow my friends to take upon all these missions in a short amount of time. It will burn them out as well. The Chunin Exams are coming up within two months' time. We need to make a splash and move up in the rankings.' He thought to himself with another sigh, wanting to just smash his head in on his desk.

"Naruto?" Usagi calls from the doorway to the blonde's office. Slowly raising my head off the stack of paper that I had dropped my head upon. As I had dropped my head on the stack. Blinking several times as a paper is stuck on my forehead.

"Naruto?" Usagi questions once more.

"Yeah, Usagi?" I question with a frown as I pull the paper from my face.

Biting her bottom lip as she looks down to the floor. Before slowly looking up at him. "Do…do you think I did the right thing when I left my world?" She questions him. As this has been bothering her for the past several months.

Push himself out of his chair he moves towards her in several steps. Pulling her into his warm embrace. "Shh…. Bunny…It is not your fault." He tells her in a gentle voice as he moves his right hand under her chin and gentle moves her face up. Meeting her sorrowful space blue eyes as his crystal blue eyes meet with hers. "Never regret your past. Never regret your present and never regret what will come in your future." He tells her as he leans in slowly claiming her lips with his own. as their eyes close as they share a soft tender kiss.

Sometime later in the Hokage Office

Naruto sits across from the elderly man with several files in hand as another scroll is safely hidden away within the seal on his left wrist. "Here are the teams I believe are able to manage the missions you had sent my way." He tells him as he stands up and leans over the desk handing the man the files.

The 3rd Hokage arches a brow at this. As he accepts the files handed to him. "What do you mean my boy? The missions I have sent to you are meant for you or your team." He explains with slight worry in his voice.

I slowly raise my right hand. "Do not worry. I only assigned those missions to season teams. Not to the newcomer teams. Even thought Gai's team having only one more year experience then the rookies that came from the academy this year." I tell him not allowing him to get another word in.

Sarutobi relax falling back into his arm chair as he drops the files upon his desk. "I shall take your word on it my boy." He said with a slight smile upon his face. "Will you be taking any mission during this week?" He questions.

Naruto levels him with a long look. "No. You do know this is the week of the Chunin Exams. We need to be within the village. We need to let the Chunin hopeful who they will be going up against during the exams." He tells the elderly man before him.

"Oh. Yes, I had forgotten. I had been in soo many meetings that everything has been just been blaring together from everything going on within these old walls." He tells the boy with a soft chuckle.

I just roll my eyes at his old antics. "You damn well know it is the week of the Chunin Exams. You are just afraid we are going to scare away the Chunin Hopefuls and having their Kages as well as their Lords breathing down your necks as well as our Lord's necks for having a Genin Team that should have been made Jonin since leaving the Academy." He points out as the old man has a sheepish expression cross his face.

"I am sorry my boy. I was hoping you had forgotten as what you had said is true." Sarutobi told him.

Naruto rolls his eyes once more. "Yeah, whatever. Just know we will play nice for now. But, once the 3rd part of the exams begin we are going to be cutting lose and introducing ourselves to the world as the 4 Horsemen." He tells him with a dark glint in his heavenly blue eyes.

"Very well my boy." Sarutobi answers him as he doesn't wasn't want to deal with the strange man who has been visiting the village as of late placing strange missions for Team 10/The 4 Horsemen.

With that said Naruto stands up and vanishes within a swirl of black flames. Something new he has been playing with as of late.

Team 10's Private Training Ground

Naruto appears within the training ground. As Shikamaru, Usagi, Ino sat under a tree awaiting him to arrive from his meeting from the Hokage Tower.

"Hey everyone." Naruto greets with a grin upon his face as he sees them.

"Hey." Shikamaru greets as he looks up from the files Naruto had given him to look over. As they will be take these missions once the Exams are over and he needed the Nara Heir to choose which ones would be the ones they would need to place more importance upon and which ones could wait. If they must leave during the free month during the training time between the 2nd and 3rd part of the exam and there was just one crimson file with a strange marking that placed Naruto on edge.

"What's that?" Naruto questions him.

"The mission we will have to take." Shikamaru told him with a frown upon his face. "It is one you're Grandfather gave me this morning. One that he said it would explain a secret. A secret of the Namikaze clan." He told Naruto as he looked down at the strange crest on the file.

"Okay." Naruto answers as he does not know how to feel about this.

Off to the left of the tree Ino and Usagi chat as they leave to two in command of the team to chat about their mission they will be taking during their break between the exams.

"So…anything else happen once you two kissed?" Ino question Usagi in a hushed tone.

Softly blushing Usagi slowly shook her head. "No, we kissed. Once we broke the kiss. I took off running." She told the blond-haired person with a frown.

Ino softly giggles. "Usagi your crush on him as been slowly growing as of late." She teases.

Usagi blushes. "Ino please do not tease me. It has been since I have genuinely liked someone." She told the blond-haired person.

It was Ino's turn to blush. "I'm sorry Usagi, I didn't mean to tease you so much." She tells her sister/best friend.

Usagi smiles at her brightly. "It is okay Ino. Please do not beat yourself up over it. I just need to calm down and just remind myself my past is my past and he will never find me and he will never be my future." She tells the other girl with a tender true smile.

Ino bumps her shoulder against Usagi's shoulder. "Life will be gotten better just give it time. Your life has gotten better since you have found your new home here with us and we love you." Ino tells her with a grin on her face.

Usagi giggles. "True. I just hate how I allowed my past shadow loom over me for far too long. As my future is truly bright and it is what I will be making of it." She tells Ino.

It is this time Asuma comes slowly walking up towards them. With the four forms for the Chunin Exams held within them. He just smirks at his team as he already knew they are already ready for this. Hell, more than ready for this.
