A/N: Hey! I do want to thank you for reading this story. I hope people are enjoying it, even though I haven't been updating as regularly as I had initially planned. I don't see that changing too much in the next foreseeable future, but please bear with me because I do have a lot planned. I PROMISE that I will finish this story, it may just take me a little while to do so. I also want to say, even though I am a huge Stris shipper, JJ/Street have become my favorite pairing to write, so I have thoroughly enjoyed doing these two stories. Anyways, thanks again and PLEASE let me know what you think!

JJ found herself getting antsy as she followed Hondo back into the situation room. It had only been thirty minutes since they had gone over the profile, but she was in a hurry to get the information on the two possible suspects.

Thankfully, Garcia was ready to hand over what she had found. Hondo gave JJ one of the tablets as the rest of 20-Squad filed in, and she made the call to the tech analyst.

Garcia had dug deep into both Darius Caldwell and Noah Lambert, but by the time she finished sharing the information she found, everyone in the room was convinced that Lambert was their guy.

From JJ's point of view, it appeared Lambert had been in charge of picking the victims. She checked with Garcia, and they discovered that he had crossed paths with each of the women at least once in their daily lives, and he fit the profile to the letter. JJ immediately got to work on securing a warrant.

It didn't take long for her to get it, so 20-Squad quickly geared up. The profiler addressed the team as they met in the Eagle's Nest one more time. "I sent Lambert's address to your tablet, Hondo, as well as the layout of the house. Be careful, this guy is going to be dangerous to takedown."

Hondo nodded, but gave her an odd look. "You're not going with us?"

"No, I'll stay here as support with Hicks. This is a SWAT op, you don't need me interfering."

He looked like he was about to protest, but then thought better of it. "Okay, it's your call. 20-Squad, let's roll."

JJ grabbed Street's arm before he could leave. "Be safe."

He winked and gave her cheeky grin. "Don't worry, you're not getting rid of me that easy."

She smiled and let him go before turning to join Hicks.

Within fifteen minutes, 20-Squad had made it to Lambert's residence. JJ listened over the radio as Hondo quickly informed his team of the plan. Her palms were starting to sweat as she watched them enter on the body cams.

She was always used to being in the field on cases like this, so even after the past while of being on desk duty, it hadn't got any easier watching everyone else run into the line of fire.

Half of the team split off to go in the back entrance, and JJ's attention was torn between two screens: one showing the view from Hondo's camera, and the other showing Street's.

Both groups busted through their respective doors, then in an instant later, gunfire could be heard over all the monitors. JJ's heart started pounding as she caught sight of Lambert trading fire with the officers. Most of her focus was on Street's camera as she watched him move to get a better angle before ducking for cover.

JJ couldn't tell exactly how long the gunfight lasted. It felt like a lifetime from her point of view, but she knew it couldn't have been more than a couple of minutes.

Street was the one to take Lambert down. His new angle proved useful as he was able to get a shot.

JJ let out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding as she watched Lambert hit the ground. Hondo could be heard over the radio calling out 'Code-4.'

Hicks turned to the profiler and gave her a congratulatory pat on the back. "Nice work, Jareau."

She brushed off the praise, knowing all the credit should be given to 20-Squad.

EMTs arrived to take care of Lambert. He would make it, but it would be a while before he'd be talking. That was okay though because ERT found plenty evidence of the murders stored away in the house.

JJ's theory had proved to be accurate. Lambert was the one finding the victims, and he had several more lined up. JJ was thankful for 20-Squad's assistance on this case. Without their quick thinking, she knew a lot more lives could have been lost.

Feeling lighter than she had all day, JJ smiled as she and Street entered the locker room. With the case wrapped up, she was needed back at the BAU… but Street wasn't letting that happen without a few minutes to themselves.

JJ laughed as he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her to him for a kiss. "You know, Hondo and the team are waiting for you in the gym."

"They'll get over it. This is much better."

"Can't argue with that. That was a nice shot out there today."

"Thanks. It felt good being able to take him down." He pressed a sweet kiss to her cheek, and she let out a content sigh. "What about you, are you feeling better?"

"Yeah, I am… though I won't be completely satisfied until I'm putting a 'closed' stamp on this case file."

He chuckled low in his throat, a sound that JJ always loved to hear. "Well, I guess I better let you go do that."

"You're team is probably getting suspicious."

"They're always suspicious of something. That's just how their minds work." He smirked at her and she fondly rolled her eyes.

"I'm pretty sure they think something's up with me since I didn't go on the raid. I heard Chris telling Tan she thought I'd be chomping at the bit to bring Lambert in myself."

"Yeah, she's thought something was up with me for a while… says I've been in too good of a mood. "

"Well, we can come clean very soon."

Street's smile completely lit up his face. "After your next appointment right?"

"That's the plan."

"We need to get the teams together for dinner anyways.. Might as well do it then." He leaned in for a lingering kiss before looking at her with more love than she thought possible. "I can't wait."

"I know, I'm excited too. It's been hard keeping this a secret." She lightly swatted him on the chest, giving him a pointed look. "Now, I really have to go."

Street held on a little tighter and placed a final kiss against her lips. It quickly turned passionate, and as they were getting lost in each other, the door to the locker room opened.

They reluctantly parted as Luca suddenly appeared with wide eyes.

"Whoa! I guess that's why Hondo sent me in here." Luca shook his head. "You two are way too into each other. That's like the third time I've walked in on something I didn't want to see."

Amusement was evident in JJ's eyes as she replied, "Relax, Luca. At least we are both fully clothed."

Street burst out laughing. "If he would've been five minutes later we might be having a completely different conversation."

Luca looked a little horrified, and JJ knew it was time to go before things got any more out of hand. "Okay, I'm leaving now. I'll see you at home, Jim. Luca, it was good working with you."

Luca grinned and pulled JJ into a one-armed hug. "Yeah, you too. Take care."

She walked to the door, but turned around when Street spoke her name. "Yeah?"

"You did good, Jay. Now those families can have closure."

She nodded and gave him a grateful smile before leaving for the BAU.

Thirty minutes later, the profiler finished debriefing her team on the arrest, and finally headed up to her office with a sigh of relief. She rubbed a hand over her stomach, just barely starting to feel the growth of her baby. "Hi, sweetie. We're finally through with today… sorry for all the stress."

Even though it was early in her pregnancy, JJ still found herself talking to the baby at times, especially when she was alone in her office. It brought her a sort of comfort, and soothed her mind when it was running wild.

Street did it too. He would rub her stomach while they were in bed at night, and talk to their still-developing child. It always melted her heart to see that side of him. She loved to see him tough and ready to roll at work, but the demeanor he directed towards their unborn baby made her fall even more in love with him.

Smiling at the thought, she took her seat behind her desk and grabbed the file containing the day's case. She was beyond relieved to have it solved, and while she still held regret over how it went three years ago, she knew sleep would come easier tonight with the thoughts of justice being served.

Within half an hour, JJ had the new report written up and, with a satisfied smile on her face, was able to officially label it as 'closed.'

"Street, are you okay?" JJ turned concerned eyes on her fiancée as they got into his truck. It was one week later, and the pair was just leaving the doctor after their fourteen week ultrasound.

Street was thrilled that everything went well, and that JJ and the baby were both completely healthy… but he still couldn't shake some of the worries that had been plaguing his mind.

What kind of father would he be, and was there a chance of him becoming like his own? That scared him because he never wanted to turn out like that man. He couldn't do that to JJ and the baby.

Realizing that he hadn't yet responded to JJ, he turned to face her worried gaze. "I guess I just…"

She reached over and grabbed his hand, silently urging him to share what was bothering him.

"When I found my mom five months ago, right before I put her back in prison… she called me by my father's name. She called me Eddie." His voice was quiet, the memory fresh in his mind.

"Jim, she was high out of her mind. She wasn't thinking straight when you found her."

"I know that, but… did I really remind her of him that much? I guess it got me to thinking, am I anything like him, or will I be one day? I've never really thought that I was, but maybe she saw something that I can't. How can I be a good man to you and the baby, when I never had a good example of my own to follow?" When he finally met JJ's gaze, her eyes were watery and he was sure they matched his own.

"James, listen to me. You are nothing like that man."

"Jay, you do-"

She shook her head. "Do not tell me that I don't know. I do because I know you. You've told me about your father, you've told me what he was like. You are not that man, and you never could be."

"What makes you so sure?"

"You are the kindest, most loving guy I've ever met. You care so deeply for the people in your life, and you would do anything to protect them. You have proved that over and over, Street."

Street ducked his head, not knowing how to respond to her praise or the intensity in her voice.

"Have you been thinking about this ever since then?"

"I guess I let go of it after the fact, but when we found out about the baby… I couldn't help but think of it. I don't know what kind of father or husband I'll be, and the thought of ever turning out like him… it scares me, Jay."

JJ squeezed his hand. "Jim, you are going to be an amazing father and husband. I am so lucky to have you in my life and our baby is too."

He was starting to feel a bit better, JJ's confidence in him meant the world, but he still couldn't help saying, "I don't know anything about parenting. I mean, I just recently grew up myself and some people would tell you that I still haven't."

She chuckled and he finally cracked a smile. "Well, I would have to disagree with whoever thinks that… because even in the time that I've known you, you've grown tremendously.. And for the record, I don't know anything about being a parent either. This is going to be a learning experience for both of us… we'll figure it out together, Jim."

"Together." He kissed her hand before smiling again. "Thank you, Jay. I love you."
