Chapter 31: Chupataro: Civil War
The symbol of the Black Hole Empire pulsed on Meeeg-chan's forehead.
"Khnumesis' power has cursed Meeeg-chan with the evil of the Black Hole Empire, chupa?"
"BECAUSE KHNUMESIS WAS USED AS FUSION MATERIAL, MEEEG-CHAN BLACK GAINS PROTECTION FROM DESTRUCTION BY TRAP EFFECTS, CHUPA! AND WHEN THE GREAT DEMON KING HAS ZERO CARDS IN HAND, BY SENDING THE TOP CARD OF HIS DECK TO THE GRAVEYARD, HER MULTI-CHOICE EFFECT ACTIVATES, ADDING SHORUTA-P FROM HIS DECK TO HIS HAND, CHUPA!"
"Shoruta-P?"
"EQUIP MAGIC, SHORUTA-P! EQUIP TO MEEEG-CHAN BLACK, CHUPA!"
A mechanical, dark repaint of Meeeg-chan's trusted sheepdog dropped down onto Meeeg-chan Black's shoulder.
If she weren't frozen, this would be when Manya would exclaim, "Manya-nya! Even Shoruta!"
"THE GREAT DEMON KING WANTS TO ERASE HIS IMPOSTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, BUT…SHOULD HE BREAK YOUR TOY FIRST, CABRA~?"
No! Yuhi! Chupataro's blood ran cold ("cold-blooded" being a misnomer).
"BATTLE! MEEEG-CHAN BLACK ATTACKS JOINTECH HERO, CHUPA!"
Shoruta-P poofed into an umbrella, which Meeeg-chan Black seized by the handle and spun rapidly, emulating a drill.
"NEGATIVE FORCE!"
"Not on Chupa's watch, chupa! Trap Card, Astral Turnpike, chupa! With this, Meeeg-chan's attack is redirected, becoming a direct attack on Chupa's Life Points, cabra!"
Being blown back into a column of ice burned Chupataro's soles. (Yuhi & Chupataro LP 4000 ↓ 1200)
"Chupataro!" Yuhi shouted.
"EVEN THOUGH YOUR LIFE POINTS ARE SHARED, YOU TAKE THE HIT FOR HIM, CHUPA? HOW PATHETICALLY FUNNY, CHUPA!"
"Chupataro, are you –?"
"Chupa's fine, chupa…" His robot sparked, proving to Yuhi that was a lie.
"Meeeg-chan's attacks are real 'cause of the Earthdamar!" Yuamu reminded her brother.
"IT WAS A MEANINGLESS TRAP, ANYWAY, CHUPA!"
"Chupa?"
"SHORUTA-P'S EFFECT, CHUPA! IF THE EQUIPPED MONSTER IS UNSUCCESSFUL IN DESTROYING THE OPPONENT'S MONSTER BY BATTLE, MEEEG-CHAN BLACK CAN ATTACK AGAIN, CHUPA!"
The Queen of Darkness teleported back to her initial target, drilling her umbrella through Jointech Hero.
"300!" Yuhi still howled, slamming into another column of ice. (Yuhi & Chupataro LP 1200 ↓ 900)
"Why would you do such a thing, chupa?" Chupataro rushed over to Yuhi, cradling him in his robot's arms.
"LETTING THE HATE FLOW THROUGH, CHUPA! TURN END, CABRA!"
"Ugh." Yuhi got up. "It's gonna take more than more ice to get me down! I draw! I switch Jointech Rex to Defence Position! Then I set three cards, and pass it over to Chupataro!"
"Chupa's turn! Draw, chupa!"
"YOU STILL WON'T USE IT? FUSION, CHUPA?"
"Chupa switches Yuhi to Defence Position, chupa! Magic Card, Stray Sheep, chupa!"
"CHUCHU. YOU'RE DISCARDING THREE CARDS TO SPECIAL SUMMON TWO BEAST-TYPE NORMAL MONSTERS WITH THE SAME NAME FROM YOUR DECK TO SERVE AS YOUR WALL? DESPERATE, AREN'T CHU, CHUPA?"
"Chupa Special Summons two Ewekai Grounmouton, chupa! And Chupa ends Chupa's turn, chupa!" (Level 1 EARTH Beast/Normal ATK 0 DEF 1500)
"THE GREAT DEMON KING'S TURN! DRAW, CABRA! FIELD MAGIC, PAN 80!"
An orb of impenetrable darkness bloomed, shrouding their ankles.
"PAN 80'S EFFECT…IF A LEVEL 9 DARK-ATTRIBUTE MONSTER WOULD BE DESTROYED BY BATTLE, BY SENDING TWO CARDS FROM THE TOP OF THE DECK TO THE GRAVEYARD, THAT MONSTER IS NOT DESTROYED, CHUPA! NOW MEEEG-CHAN BLACK IS ALMOST UNBEATABLE! IT'S TIME YOU GIVE UP, CHUPAPAPA!"
"Then throw everything you got at us!" Yuhi dared him. "Our defence is solid!"
"IS THAT SO, CHUPA? THE GREAT DEMON KING ACTIVATES MEEEG-CHAN BLACK'S OTHER MULTI-CHOICE EFFECT! WITH A FIELD MAGIC IN PLAY, HER NEXT ATTACK PIERCES! ALSO, MAGIC CARD, DOOR TO DREAM MIRRORLAND – NIHILMESHA, CHUPA! BY REDUCING THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE TO 200 PER MONSTER THIS TURN, MEEEG-CHAN BLACK CAN ATTACK ALL OF YOUR MONSTERS IN DEFENCE POSITION ONCE EACH!"
"They WHAT?"
"THE GREAT DEMON KING SETS A CARD, CHUPA! MEEEG-CHAN, DESTROY ALL THEIR MONSTERS, CABRA!"
"Before that, I've got a Trap! Allied Ramp Up Rampart! If I have at least one EARTH Machine-Type monster in my Graveyard, by giving up one card in my hand, Magical Sheep Crossdresser Yuhi on Chupataro's field is not destroyed during this battle!"
"BUT YOU STILL TAKE DAMAGE, CHUPA!"
Chupataro padded Yuhi with his robot, bearing the brunt of it. (Yuhi & Chupataro LP 900 ↓ 100)
"Yuhi!" Yuamu screamed.
"Chupataro!" Yudias followed her example.
Asaka's face was grim. "Their remaining Life is a scant 100."
"How are they supposed to come back from that?" Yuna bristled.
"It's over. They're possibilities have run out," The*Providence made the call.
"No, we made it through!" Yuhi brushed it off confidently. "An unexpected turnaround! That's the thrill of Rush Duels! Watch closely! This is our counterattack! My turn! Draw! I activate the Trap I set last turn, Jointech Jackpot!"
"JOINTECH…JACKPOT, CABRA?"
"When I control no monsters, I can return seven cards including this card from either my hand or field to the bottom of my Deck, and Special Summon three Level 7 monsters from the Graveyard!"
"LEVEL 7? BUT YOU ONLY HAVE TWO LEVEL 7 MONSTERS IN YOUR –! UNLESS –!"
"Heh heh! That's right! I'm pullin' one out of yours! Be reborn on my side of the field! Jointech Hero! Jointech Rex! Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan!"
"Oh-ho! Yuhi's field has –!" Yudias pepped up.
"IT DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR IMMINENT DEFEAT, CHUPA! MEEEG-CHAN BLACK'S ATK IS STILL HIGHER, CHUPA!"
"We'll see! I end my turn!"
"Chupa's turn! Draw, cabra!"
"FUSION, CHUPA?"
"No. Chupa won't use Fusion this Duel. Chupa finally gets the real reason that guy gave Chupa this card, chupa."
That guy nodded.
"THE REAL REASON?"
"Don't you see what you've done? Look at your field, chupa! At what you've done to Meeeg-chan, chupa!"
"YOU DON'T GET TO TALK, CHUPA! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MEEEG-CHAN UP TILL NOW, CHUPA? SACRIFICE HER! DISCARD HER! PLAY HIS CARD INSTEAD OF HERS! YOU HAVE FORSAKEN MEEEG-CHAN COMPLETELY, CABRA!"
"Ah. It's like you say, chupa. But Chupa can't help it, chupa. To protect what Chupa cherishes, Chupa had to change, cabra."
The original Meeeg-chan on Yuhi's field fixed rueful doe eyes on the original Chupataro.
"ME-MEEEG-CHAN?"
"Don't keep walking down this dark path! This is enough! Meeeg has always been at your side, but…Meeeg knows this isn't the real you! Come to your senses!" she appealed to him.
"This turn, Chupa will make sure Meeeg-chan's feelings reach you, chupa! Starting with this! Sheep Rolling Magic, chupa! When Yuhi and Meeeg-chan are both on the field, all cards the opponent controls are destroyed, chupa!"
"ALL, CHUPA?"
"Let's go!" Meeeg-chan said.
"Mm!" Yuhi (the monster) concurred.
"SHEEP ROLLING MAGIC!" They crossed their wands, forming a giant ball of wool that crushed Meeeg-chan Black, Shoruta-P, and Pan 90 under it.
"Yippee for teamwork!"
"THE GREAT DEMON KING CAN'T LET IT END HERE, CHUPA! TRAP CARD, IMMORTAL CHAOS! WHEN THIS CARD IS DESTROYED, ITS EFFECT ACTIVATES, CHUPA!"
Meeeg-chan Black reappeared on OG Chupataro's field.
"He revived her!"
"After they just went to so much trouble to destroy her!"
"No, this is really the end, chupa! Don't tell me you forgot Yuhi's continuous effect, chupa! Yuhi's ATK goes up by 500 for the copy of Meeeg-chan in Chupa's Graveyard, cabra!" (ATK 2000 ↑ ATK 2500)
"CHUPAAA!"
"And to fulfill this card's requirement, Chupa discards Fusion!"
"BRA? YOU'RE DUMPING THAT CARD, CHUPACABRA?"
"Magic Card, Soul Shepherd! Yuhi's ATK is further increased by 800 for every other monster on the field, chupa! Jointech Hero, Jointech Rex, Meeeg-chan, Meeeg-chan Black! Add it all up and it's 3200, cabra!" (ATK 2500 ↑ ATK 5700)
"5700 ATK, CHUPA?"
"Farewell, Meeeg-chan Black. Yuhi's attack! LOVE OF CHUPACABRA ROLLING!"
"CHUPA! CHUPA CAN'T –! CHU-CHUPA CAN'T –!"
