There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.
Chapter 59: Polar Star Beasts Descend
After Yuhi's return from his Duel with Ryugu Tremolo, we took up arms, and carried out Operation: Take Back the Surface. But at that moment, trying to remove the leaders of MIK themselves, six pillars of light glowed even brighter. Just who are they?
Yudias felt the tension slice through the air.
"Tremolo! Time to die! Captain of Red-Eyes Black Dragon's First Division!"
"Tremolo. Ryugu Tremolo."
"GO RUSH!"
"Yuhi, what sort of Duel does Ryugu Tremolo play?" Yudias inquired.
"He's just like Phaser. He plays a Sea Serpent Deck. And his Maximum, Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss, has powerful ATK gaining and monster destruction effects."
"I wonder what cards his opponent will use…"
"Hmmm? You're the Captain of Red-Eyes Black Dragon's First Division?" Tremolo hummed to himself. "I heard of you from my subordinates. You're the alien who oversaw the raid on District 8. Niisan was very unhappy."
"Was MIK's Commander unhappy? Poor, poor Phaser!"
"Laugh now. You'll never defeat me. Never ever!"
"That's my line! Draw! I summon Polar Star Beast Heidrun!"
"Maa!" (Level 3 EARTH Beast/Effect ATK 1000 DEF 900)
"I activate Heidrun's effect! I send a card from the top of my Deck to the Graveyard, and if it's a Level 4 or lower Beast-Type monster, I can Special Summon it in Defence Position! I Special Summon Polar Star Beast Tanngnjostr!" (Level 3 EARTH Beast/Effect ATK 800 DEF 1100)
The honey-furred goat and the black-furred goat banged their sabre-sharp horns.
"Magic Card, Song of Battle! Because I control two or more monsters, I can change Polar Star Beast Tanngnjostr from Defence Position to Attack Position, triggering its special ability! Tanngnjostr lets me Special Summon Polar Star Beast Selkie from my Deck!"
"Arf! Arf!" The seal clapped. (Level 3 EARTH Beast/Effect ATK 800 DEF 100)
"I release Polar Star Beast Heidrun, and Advance Summon Animal King Behemoth!" (Level 7 EARTH Beast/Effect ATK 2700 DEF 1500)
"A Level 7 monster for ONE RELEASE?" Damamu mashed both ears.
"Animal King Behemoth can be summoned for one less release, but in that case, its original ATK becomes 2000!" (ATK 2700 ↓ ATK 2000)
"That's all? Is there a meaning to this?" Tremolo was bored.
"Since Animal King Behemoth was Advanced Summoned, I can return Beast-Type monsters up to the number of releases used in its summon from my Graveyard to my hand. I return Polar Star Beast Heidrun! Then I send Animal King Behemoth to the Graveyard to activate Polar Star Beast Selkie's effect! Until the end of turn, Selkie's Level is increased by Behemoth's!"
"Level 3 and Level 7…THAT WOULD BE LEVEL 10, WOULD IT NOT?" Yudias oversold it.
"The conditions have been set."
"Conditions? What conditions?"
"I Special Summon Polar Star Wicked Squirrel Ratatoskr to your field!"
A bulky rodent with a rune-marked tail grown from thick interwoven branches completed its descent onto Tremolo's field. (Level 10 EARTH Beast/Effect ATK 2000 DEF 2000)
"What is this monster?" the Special Enforcement Officer under command of the MIK Commander hissed.
"When there's a Level 10 on my field, I can Special Summon Ratatoskr from my hand to your field in Defence Position. Ratatoskr can't be released, and while Ratatoskr is face-up on the field, its controller can't Special Summon monsters."
"What?"
"You MIK rubes are predictable as heck! Your overreliance on Maximums…That's your weak point! That's why we Sevens all have anti-Maximum strategies incorporated into our Decks!"
Tremolo clenched his teeth. "My little cuties…"
"I summon Polar Star Heidrun again, sending the top card of my Deck to the Graveyard! Unfortunately, the card is not a Level 4 or lower Beast-Type, so it stays in my Graveyard. I set one card! Turn end!"
"Turn! My turn! Draw! Don't think you're the only one who can summon for fewer releases. Don't even think it! I summon Kaiser Sea Horse!" (Level 4 LIGHT Sea Serpent/Effect ATK 1700 DEF 1650)
"That monster counts as two releases when summoning a LIGHT monster!" Yuamu recognized it, as she'd been brushing up on Goha Company's portfolio.
"And a Level 4 with 1700 ATK?" Yuhi thought he'd seen the maximum (no pun intended) with Yudias and Yuna's 1600.
"I release Kaiser Sea Horse! Advance Summon! Pureglass Spears!"
His monster began life as a crystal in an undersea trench, expanding its fins and spines out like the spines of a sea urchin. (Level 8 LIGHT Sea Serpent/Effect ATK 2500 DEF 2500)
"That must be –!"
"Ryugu Tremolo's non-Maximum Ace!" Ranran choked.
"I activate the Magic Card, Depth Bite. I can activate this card when I control a Level 7 or higher Sea Serpent monster, by sending the top five cards of my Deck to the Graveyard. If I send five LIGHT Sea Serpent monsters to the Graveyard for this effect, this turn, after Pureglass Spears attacks, all monsters on the field with lower ATK than it are destroyed, and for every 1000 damage it does to your Life Points, I draw a card. Then, I can immediately Special Summon a monster from my hand! Pureglass Spears, attack Polar Star Beast Heidrun! PUREGLASS SPEARS!"
Yuamu's group bolstered against the gust emitted by Heidrun's destruction. (First Captain LP 4000 ↓ 2500)
"Due to Depth Bite's effect, I draw one! Anti-Maximum strategies? Hahahahahaha! That joke's so bad, it's funny. Extremely funny. Your eyesore of a squirrel is history!"
Ratatoskr shattered.
"My little cuties, I leave it to you. I send all monsters on my field to the Graveyard!"
Yuhi tasted ozone. Here it comes!
"A miracle. It's a miracle I even met you. Become my strength as I summon you to the field! Maximum Summon! Shinesteel Ultra Dragon Devastar Okeabyss!"
Tremolo's Maximum arose from a waterspout, bellowing toward the heavens. (Level 10 LIGHT Sea Serpent/Maximum/Effect MAXIMUM ATK 3500)
"This is…Ryugu Tremolo's Maximum!" Yudias was in awe of its size.
"It's over. It's over for –!"
Chittering laughter. The Captain of Red-Eyes Black Dragon's First Division was laughing.
"What…What's so funny?"
A blur shot out from a manhole cover, in a state of panic. "Yuhi-san! Yuamu-san!"
"Sukai!"
"Navel-kun?"
"We've come into possession of shocking information, sky! The footage Yuhi-san salvaged from the Ark…It was doctored, sky!"
"Doctored?"
"Exactly, sky! The official feed only shows that guy and the Great King of Terror breaking in, sky! Staged scenes were spliced in after MIK abandoned the Ark, in front of the actual footage, and the tape was planted for UTS to find, sky!"
"Why would anybody fake parts of the video?"
"Whoever tampered with the tape put us on the scent, expecting we'd report our discoveries to Yuhi-san, sky! They were concealing the true identities of the Sevens, sky!"
"So Tremolo wasn't lying when he said he didn't know what happened to Chupataro!" The dominoes dropped for Yuhi. "He was never in the room with him! That would mean –!"
Tremolo glared at First Division's Captain. "It's you…You're –!"
"Hn. You noticed too late! EVERYONE, LET'S GO, CHUPA!"
