Summary:

There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.

Chapter 75: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

"Chupataro? Hey, are you –?"

Darkness…Darkness…Darkness Wolf… Chupataro's body and especially his eyes were steeped in a fiery green energy."Summon, chupa! A wolf in sheep's clothing! Darkness Wolf!" (Level 1 DARK Beast/Effect ATK 0 DEF 700)

A new monster! A new monster! O-ho-hoy! Damamu's presence inside Yuhi was marked by Yuhi's red eyes with yellow stars in them.

"Another Darkness Whatchamacallit!"

"Chupa sends one other card on the field – Ewekai Nightmutton – to the Graveyard, activating Darkness Wolf's effect, chupa! Until the end of turn, Darkness Wolf's name is treated as Ewekai Khnumesis, cabra!"

Darkness Wolf's way of meeting this requirement was to eat Ewekai Nightmutton, pouncing onto the helpless creature and ripping mouthfuls of its purple wool out. A grisly act that grossed Yuhi out, but which Damamu found charming.

"Ewekai Khnumesis? Wait, you're not –!"

"Chuchuchu! Chupa is, chupa! FUSION! Light and dark! Positive and negative! The princess? She's now queen! Fusion Summon, chupa! Turn your wickedness upon this universe! The Queen of Darkness, Meeeg-chan Black! (Level 9 DARK Beast/Fusion/Effect ATK 2800 DEF 2100)

"Chupataro, you can't! You can't! You can't! You can't! Don't let it take you over!"

"Meeeg-chan Black's Multi-Choice effect, chupa!" Chupataro was howling with laughter. "Chupa sends the top card of Chupa's Deck to the Graveyard when Chupa has no cards in hand, cabra!"

"Sh-Shoruta-P…"

"That's right! Shoruta-P is added from Chupa's Deck to Chupa's hand, chupa! And Chupa equips it, chupa!"

Meeeg-chan Black coddled Shoruta's answer to Mecha-Dog Marron.

"It's the real deal from here on out, chupa! Trap Card, Ewekai – Sleepwalking! Chupa sends the top four cards of Chupa's Deck to the Graveyard, and can then Special Summon up to three Normal Monsters in Chupa's Graveyard to your side of the field in Attack Position, cabra!"

"What? To my field?"

"Just in time for Hell's slumber party! Come back! Ewekai Nightmutton! Ewekai Airaries! Ewekai Thunderlambda!"

Wooo~! So many sheep!

"The monsters Special Summoned by Ewekai – Sleepwalking can't be destroyed by battle this turn, chupa! And when Meeeg-chan Black equipped with Shoruta-P is unsuccessful in destroying one of them by battle, she can attack again, chupa! So with no monsters she can destroy by battle, Meeeg-chan Black can keep attacking until your Life Points are zero, cabra!"

"Chupataro, stop…This isn't you."

"Sure it is, chupa!"

"Why're you like this?"

"Chupa enjoys chaos, chupa!"

"I agreed to havin' Damamu possess me cuz you thought it'd protect me from gettin' controlled by the Darkness Whatchamacallits! Are you really gonna turn around and get controlled yourself? Are you really gonna hurt me and Damamu?"

"Chu! Meeeg-chan Black's consecutive attacks! NEGATIVE FORCE!"

"Yuhi, I'm coming in."

"Don't…Don't just come in!" Part of Yuhi's Deck was sticking to his face.

"I knocked though."

Her brother's heart was palpitating.

"Did you have a bad dream?"

"I'm fine. What d'ya need?"

"I was thinking about that mystery card…"

"And the Relic, yeah?"

"Huh?"

"There's no doubt that the Relic manipulated Phaser to create Maximums. Thinking about it, all these mysteries just go back to the Relic!"

"You just said everything I wanted to say. Yuhi, I have a favour to ask," Yuamu proceeded to inform him of the precaution she set up for the Galaxy Cup Finals.

"Isn't there another way?"

"There isn't. This is the road we've taken, y'know?"

"You're startin' to sound like that guy."

"That's my line."

"Wait, really?"

"Mm."

"Yuamu…Do you think there's anything to it? What Zaion said?"

"That Yuga-kun is in the wrong? That he's a 'devil'?"

"Mm."

"I refuse to believe that. I've chosen to move forward on the road in front of us. Anyway, he's here, Yuhi." Yuamu let go of the drapes.

"Who? Yuga? Zaion?"

"Chupataro-kun. I told Damamu to go get him."

"WHY'D YA DO THAT?"

"You're bottling up again, Yuhi. And while I'll grant you you've grown, deep down you want Chupataro-kun here. We both know that."

Yuhi sighed. What's done was done. Within minutes, Yuamu had gone to brush her teeth, Damamu was sneaking leftovers out of the kitchen, and Chupataro was sitting behind Yuhi in Yuhi's bed, out of his robot and playing with Yuhi's rattail in his claws.

"Chupataro?"

"Chupa? What, chupa?"

"You didn't hafta come over."

"Chupa wanted to, chupa. And it's not far from Chupa's place, chupa. Not with Damamu's speed, cabra."

"Yeah…About your place. Not critiquin' your parenting skills or anythin', but…Can you do a better job of hidin' your stuff from Damamu?"

"What stuff, chupa?"

"That self-published, self-insert, taking-a-page-from-the-Great-King-of-Terror Meeeg-chan book you drew?"

Those animating chops from making the Magical Sheep Girl Meeeg-chan anime were paying off.

"Ch-chupa! How do you –?" Chupataro was stuttering pink. "Th-there isn't anything untoward in there, chupa!"

"Hahaha. 'cept the usual drooling over Meeeg-chan!"

"Chupa…" Chupataro burrowed into Yuhi's side.

"It's a relief Damamu's too innocent to get when Dad's cheating."

"Cabraaa! Chupa isn't cheating, chupa!"

"I know. I'm just teasin' ya," Yuhi confessed. "What I actually want to say is, uh, th-thanks…"

"For what, chupa?"

"For comin' and givin' me a laugh. I'm doin' a little better now."

"Why were you so down before, cabra?"

"Nightmare."

"About?"

"You bein' controlled by Darkness Whatchamacallit like Yuamu was."

"Humph! No chance, chupa! That'll never happen to Chupataro, chupa!"

"Ya know something 'bout those cards I don't?"

"Nope! But Chupa didn't qualify for the Galaxy Cup Finals, chupa! Can't draw a Darkness card when Chupa isn't duelling in the tournament anymore, chupa!"

Yuhi was oddly comforted by Chupataro's losing streak during the tournament.

It was as Chupataro surmised: He would be an unlikely target for falling under darkness' spell.

But the eight or so finalists likely would be.

In fact, it frightened Yuamu to her core.
