Authors Notes- And here I am again with another WheelCee fanfic. As you can gather everything belongs to Hasbro. I only own the plot. Now that we got that out of the way here is the first chapter of The Art Of Loving You.

Chapter One: Nightmares

They were all dead. All around him were the bodies of mechs he had considered to be his friends lay, lifeless all around him. Energon staining the ground as he scanned the area. All around him he saw the faces of friends both past and present. And he was alone on a war torn Cybertron...alone... Suddenly the scenery changed, and now he was on Earth. And now, he was staring at the bodies of his human friends. Their blood staining the ground at his pedes. What had happened?

Sorrow gripped his spark as he continued to look around him. And once more the scene changed, and he soon found himself staring up at Megatron himself. His optics widening as he saw the tell-tale glow in his cannon before-

"AH!" Wheeljack jolted awake, finding himself staring at the control panel of the Jackhammer. And beyond that was the window which showed nothing but the blackness of the night of Earth. "Another damn nightmare." He grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose as he shook off the last drags of sleep.

No point in even trying to recharge anymore. He mused with a shake of his helm. He couldn't put his finger on it but as of late he had been having these nightmares night after night.

"The question was," Wheeljack muttered into the silence. "Why?" Getting up from his seat he left the cockpit of the Jackhammer.

The cool, evening air blowing across his chassis. Taking a deep breath Wheeljack looked up at the stars, arms crossed as he leaned against the hull of his ship. It was going to be another sleepless night. But why? Why was he suddenly haunted by these nightmares? Sure, suffering from nightmares wasn't new to him, hell, suffering from nightmares was something everyone no doubt went through during this war. Hell, he was sure when this war was over and done with they'd still suffer from nightmares himself included. But when it came to him there usually reasons for the nightmares. Yet...shaking his helm he sighed.

"Looks like I'm not the only one burning the midnight oil." A voice spoke.

Jumping slightly Wheeljack looked up as Arcee emerged from the shadows.

"Why aren't you asleep?" he asked.

"Couldn't sleep." Arcee told him, her optics roving over him. Making him shift slightly under her gaze. "You're worried about Bulkhead, aren't you?" she asked, moving to stand beside him.

Wheeljack nodded, a frown forming on his face plate. Great, he mused, like he didn't have enough on his plate but now she just had to bring that up once more. Bulkhead, Wheeljack's closest, and most dearest friends was hurt. Thanks to a Insecticon named Hardshell. A bug that was thankfully no more, but Bulkhead was still in bad shape.

"He'll pull through," Arcee assured him, leaning against the side of the Jackhammer beside him.

"I know he will." Wheeljack said, looking away from her. "I take it since you're speaking with me that mean you're no longer mad at me?" The corner of his mouth plate turned upwards as he looked to her.

Watching as her optics narrowed a fraction. "No," she said matter of factly, looking away from him. "You still endangered Miko's life." She said.

"Trust me," Wheeljack sighed. "She was never in any real danger. If I'm being honest there was a time when I was the one in danger. But she managed to save my skid plate."

Arcee arched an optic ridge at that. Was she hearing that right?

"I mean," Wheeljack continued, "I did tell her to run, she decided to disregard my orders and help me."

"Yeah," Arcee sighed. "That sounds like Miko.

Wheeljack chuckled. "So, why are you awake?" he asked. Arcee was silent. "'Cee?" He prompted.

'It's...nothing." she said finally.

"You hesitated..." Wheeljack said, optic narrowing as he looked to her.

Arcee was silent once more.

"Hey, you expect me to tell you my problems then not do the same when I ask. It's kind of-"

"I just had a nightmare, and thus I couldn't get back to sleep. I was going to go for a drive until I saw you." Arcee told him.

Wheeljack blinked as he watched her. Well, he thought. Looks like I'm not the only one suffering with nightmares. Saying nothing Wheeljack moved to place a servo on her shoulder, but stopped, letting his servo drop to his side once more.

Silence permeated between the two, after a few more seconds she spoke once more. "Would you like to do go for a drive. We don't have to talk." She suggested.

Wheeljack thought for a moment, then nodded. "That sounds like a better idea than just sitting around." He said, a smile forming on his face plate. Watching as she transformed before following suit, the two of them driving off in silence.

Wheeljack's thoughts now of the blue femme before him. He found himself drawn to her for some reason. Shaking that thought from his head the two of them drove off into the night. The thoughts of nightmares soon a distant memory...

Authors Notes- Yeah, not the greatest of first chapters but I hope you enjoyed it. I wish I had more to say but I need to work in the morning so I'm calling it a night. This is Black Jack signing off.
